Microsoft Live Search Cashback offered 40% cash back on HP.com purchases on Nov 28th. When you tried to make a purchase, you got an error message saying "oops, you are at the wrong page". Complaints to HP.com and microsoft via their email and chat contacts did nothing. This is a scam - offering a discount and then not honoring it.

Purchased xbox 360 for my son Christmas 2017.( From BestBuy, with extended 2 year warranty) In February 2017, 2 months later, was freezing up and scratching games. Returned to BestBuy. Upgraded to the new Hdmi version, which cost more money. Upgrading also cost me my extended warranty. It could not be transferred. In November 2017, got the "three rings of death", 9 months later, we shipped it to xbox, for repair. A few days later, we received an email stating they received it. A few hours later, we received an email stating it was repaired and shipped out. A few days later, we receive our package from xbox. Inside is a note stating it could not be repaired, with a list of reasons. We call xbox customer service, on the line over 45 minutes, getting the run around. Finally get a supervisor, on the line, tells us it couldn't be repaired because it was tampered with. Ah, no it wasn't. " Trevor, who refused to give me his last name, because he knew I was going to file a customer complaint on his rudeness and terrible customer service, flat out accused me of tampering with it and lying about it. Also, repeatedly told me " I don't know why you are getting so worked up over it." The xbox 360 that was returned to me isn't even the unit I sent in. It is all scratched up, with dents in the back and it looks like the label, with the serial numbers was removed and re-applied. Uh, what's up with that. I didn't take it apart. It's terrible that multi billion dollar companies take advantage of their consumers more and more and their customer service get's worse and worse. Something needs to be done about this. Consumers need to be heard. Manufacturers need to care.

Three years ago I purchased my first Xbox 360 as a Christmas gift for my son. Less than a year later, his system got what is infamously known as the "three rings of death". Still under warranty, I returned it to the place of purchase and received another one. A few days ago, it happened again and all my son wanted for Christmas was Xbox 360 games. This makes 3 Xbox 360's in 3 years. As big as Microsoft is, they should be able to design a system that has a longer shelf life than 11 months. I read that this system has a failure rate of 66% which is, in my opinion completely unacceptable. I tried contacting Microsoft and got a number that would not get me to an agent. I then went to the Xbox website and tried emailing them only to be told that I had too many characters and then when I weeded it down to the right amount of characters was told that I had characters that weren't "recognizable" (Um..I only used the english alphabet, periods and commas) so the email would not send. Now, a week before Christmas, I have to figure out how to purchase another Xbox 360 and still have money for the games so he doesn't have a ruined Christmas. More money thrown away on a system that won't even make it to next year. Incredible.

I purchased a new Dell computer with Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I wanted to make copies of home movies. It said that the Windows DVD Maker was supposed to be included. I cannot find it. To ask Microsoft a question, they want to charge $60 + tax to ask a question about their product, which does not deliver as promised. I've already had to go through a couple of hours' work and frustration with someone I couldn't understand to where the computer would recognize my digital camera. When I purchased the new computer, I was told that this was the ultimate operating system. Bull. All I would like is for Microsoft to have a website where you could ask a question concerning their products (which I purchased legally) w/o having to pay through the nose for the request. Very dissatisfied with the Vista Ultimate,

Jan 31, 2017, I decided to go shopping for the purpose of investing in a "sweet headset" I could use and enjoy while playing one of my favorite games, Call of Duty 4 (Modern Warfare). I did very little research in any product I would be looking for, prior to my shopping. Needless to say, I found a product that looked pretty awsome. Great reviews on the back and everything.

Being uneasy about the purchase of a product that would burn $107.92 out of my pocket, I decided to call my brother to ask his opinion. He said he wasn't able to help me, but redirected me to Xbox Live Support Team. (1-800-4MY-XBOX). "Give `em a call and see what they think." I agreed and dialed them up.

Finally spending five minutes walking around the store, trying to reach an actual human being to talk to, I was able to break the ice with an actual tech person. I gave her my name and all my info for the call (so it could be documented), and asked her a simple question.

I explained to her the product I was looking at, descibed and read the inscriptions on the back, one being "MICROSOFT COMPATABLE", and asked her would this work with my Xbox 360, enabling me to communicate with friends and gamers, while being able to hear the sounds of the game, directly through this head set?

She read back her notes she had been taking to check and make sure she had heard correctly, and we agreed that we were on the "same page". She further went on and told me, and I will quote exactly what she said, "Yes, sir. It will work."

I smiled and said, "Thank you, m`am. That is all I needed to know."

She replied, "Not a problem, have a wonderful day. Good bye."

End of conversation.

Having confidence in this staff member with a middle-eastern accent, *(No racism intended)* I purchased this item, believing this woman was right. Later, this very night, I carefully take the product out of the packaging and try it out.

DESCRIPTION: Having male-jacks for both a mic & headphones, this product had an adapter with a USB port. (I did, however, explain this issue to this tech support woman; but she proclaimed it would still work).

As one might have guessed it, this product was not compatable with the Xbox 360, and this woman was wrong. To make this really long story a little shorter, I spent over an hour and a half on the same phone line. Politely arguing my point, I got nowhere with a different woman from the support staff. I then stated that I would like to speak to a manager, whos in charge of the support staff. This woman asked me why I wanted to speak to another employee. I politely stated that I was getting nowhere talking to her.

I waited about ten minutes on hold, as she 'patched' me through to another person. This man claimed he was a manager. After he told me the same, exact things the woman previous to him had been telling me, I asked to speak to his manager. He declined my request, and informed me that it was impossible to talk to anyone higher than him.

I began to get very upset. I asked him his name, but couldn't understand him, (very strong M-E accent). I then stated,

"So then, you would not be Mr. Bill Gates, correct?"
He agreed, "No, I am not, sir."
"All right, then. I know there is at least one more person, if not more, above you in positions that out-rank yours. Now would you please, put me on with someone who is in charge of..."
"Sir! I told you, no. I cannot put you though with anyone else higher than me."
I asked, "Well why the heck not, then?" He informed me that he was the only manager working right at the moment. I was and still am convinced that this was, yet, another lie.

He informed me, like the woman before, that he was very sorry and knew what I was going through. Being very aggravated, I asked him this,

"So let me get this straight. You decided to call Microsoft within your life time, to ask them a question about a headset. A question that would make sure this headset, which costs a decent amount of money, would work with your xbox 360 that you own. The tech person on the phone informed you it would work, and you decided to purchase the item; trusting this woman over the phone.

Later that night, or whenever you decided to give this new headset a spin, you realized your new product does not work with your xbox. You call back the support hotline to explain your issue. They tell you it is not their fault they lied to you, and that you are currently out of 107 dollars and 92 freaking cents!

Really, sir. Do you really know what I am feeling and going through?"

He then replied,
"Again sir, I am sorry about the mis-hap and I..."

I interrupted, "Excuse me, sir! I asked you a question. Do you really know that I am going through. Has this same exact thing happened to you, too?"

He answered my question, "No, I have not sir."

"Then why would you tell me some random, verbal garbage, saying that you have? Are you a company that indulges in lies, and profits from the common man, illeagally?"

"No, sir, '' he replied.

"Then why, sir, would you do such a thing?"

He then retreated to the common saying he used before and was comfortable with,
"Again, sir, I am very sorry about the misleading information that was given to you. We cannot be held responsible for this information that was giving to you. I will be happy to help me with any further difficulties you might be having with your xb..."

I couldn't believe the voice coming through my phone's ear-piece! I again, interrupted!

"YOU CAN'T WHAT? You can't be held responsible for the information that was giving to me? Are you serious? Why not? Can you not be manly enough to, excuse my expression sir, but to GROW A PAIR and take ownership of your mistake?"

I was actually surprised when I heard his voice. Shockingly, he didn't hang up the phone.

"On behalf of that woman that gave you the information, whether it was wrong or write, we cannot be held responsible."

Later on... He tried to tell me that I never called them in the first place to confirm with this MYSTERIOUS WOMAN about the headset.

I told him that the next business day, I would go to my phone company to print off a bill showing the use of my phone that called thier hotline number and talked to a rep for over 10 minutes (including the time it took to reach this woman).

His reply: "Have fun with that, sir. We do not and will not take re..."

Very annoyed at the unprofessionalism of this man, I interrupted yet again. "EXCUSE ME? Did you just tell me to, quote: "Have fun with that?"

"Sir, you can say whatever you would like, but I never said that. I don't know where you got that from, but I, however, didn't say that."

"Horse Hockey!" I screamed. "I just heared you with my own flippin' ears."

"Sir, you can say whatever you want but..." (GET THIS!) ..."we do not have your call on record."

"Excuse my language, but like hell you don't. I was informed that the call would be recorded for purposes of reviewing, later in time."

"Well then, can you give me a refrence number your call was made with."

I informed him the woman on the phone didn't give me any number, but only helped me by answering one of my questions.

"Well sir, if you cannot prove that the recorded phone call is real, then I must assume that it isn't true."

I got so aggravated and so pissed off I had to cut it off there. I decided to make sure he got my message.

"Well sir, I would like to just inform you... Make sure you are recording what I am about to say. Okay? I will make sure that I inform everyone I know never to purchase anything dealing with Microsoft, Xbox, Xbox 360, or any other future products that will deal with Microsoft gaming consuls. I am through with your weak and rediculous support teams that are hear to support you; not to lie to you. I want you to know, I am completely through with your products. Never again will I purchase and or use any product made by Microsoft, nor the makers of Microsoft."

He then hung up on me, without saying good bye.

I'm sorry to everyone who has this same problem. I for one, would like to talk to an American Tech Support Team Member. One I can understand. I have no hard feelings to anyone of the decent or relationship of the Middle-Eastern cultures. No one in general, I mean. I'm just sick, and VERY tired of trying to talk to someone who is overseas, and whos hired directly due to the fact, they work for less than minimal wage. I may be wrong, but I am surely damn pissed off.

A very displeased consumer.

I just so happened to notice a charge for $7.99 on my bank statement from Miscrosoft Xbox. I did some research and found that they have been charging my card for three months without my permission. I called and they said they automatically switched me over to a monthly Xbox Live sub. Are you kidding me? I can't believe a company as big as Micrsoft needs to stoop this low. I have probably spent hundreds of dollars on DLC alone. Ridiculous.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to place an official complaint against Microsoft Xbox since I received the worst customer service I have ever seen! To give you my perspective, I will start from the beginning so you are fully aware of the terrible experience I have had with your company. First, my Xbox console suddenly broke just 2 weeks after my warranty expired so I called your service department to get some help and troubleshooting to see if I could fix this problem. During my very first of many phone calls to Xbox at 1-800-4myxbox they could not help me at all with this problem. All they could offer me was a phone call from someone at your repair department FOUR days later! First of all, that is incredibly slow turn around time… especially for a customer service issue! It is absurd that I have to wait four days just for a phone call from you. When someone finally called me, Sam (extension number 7122) in your Special Repair Department he was absolutely NO help and was very rude to me over the phone. It all started when he called me two hours before the scheduled time at 7am when I was told he would call between 9am and 11am that day. Because he called me so early, I missed the call since I was sleeping. I had to wait another day for him to call me back. Again, he called an hour before the scheduled time, at 8am. Luckily, I was able to answer my phone but it ended up being a completely useless conversation since he could not offer me ANY assistance! He would not even provide me with an address to file a complaint or service request! He told me this information I needed was online but he was not authorized to give it to me. That makes absolutely NO sense to me why he could not even provide me with the simplest piece of information. Sam was incredibly rude and short tempered with me and said he could only help me repair it if I paid $119! I don’t feel that I should have to pay that ridiculous amount, especially after the HORRIBLE service I have received from multiple reps at your company! He told me there is nothing they can do to get it repaired under warranty because it was expired by two weeks. I can understand that you have a policy and regulations to follow with a warranty but I have invested over $2017 with Microsoft on Xbox alone and have received absolutely no help from any of your service reps. I have only had this Xbox console for just over one year and it is completely useless to me since the defect in this product (33% of all Xbox consoles manufactured will experience) makes it inoperable.

In addition to all of this, I was not even able to get my Xbox Live monthly subscription refunded for the $7.95 I paid! I can’t use this service if my console is broken so I just wasted that money. I can’t believe you are not able to refund this small amount of money to me for something that I won’t be able to use unless I pay you the $119 for repairs! It’s a good thing I didn’t choose to subscribe to the 6 or 12 month plan because you would have had even more of my valuable money.

I have a lot of friends who also use Xbox and I guarantee I will be telling everyone about this terrible experience, including any and all postings online relating to service issues. You are losing a great customer over this issue and will NEVER buy any Microsoft products again because I know I will not ever be able to get any assistance after purchasing a product. It just makes me feel that after you have my money, I’m just on my own and can only get service on my products if I pay you more money. This is no way to do business and keep your customers happy and unfortunately for you, I will no longer be a customer of yours.

Regards,

Taylor

heres another person that is now rufusing to buy anything to do with xbox and xbox live, after selling my xbox a few months back i realised i had to cancel my account with xbox live. no problem, i thought. all they will need is my card details in order to cancel... well that wasnt the case apparently i needed to give them all the details like my old phone number and the e-mail address i used to register. well i couldnt remember half of this stuff.
so even though i had given the person all of my card details (which is the only thing they really needed to take the money out in the first place) they still refused to cancel.

i rang my bank and told them to block payments from xbox live or cancel the direct debit... but conveniently for them, there was no direct debit for xbox live, it was simply them using my details every month to take money out of my account which i had explicitly told them not to anymore ... HOW CLOSE TO ILLEGAL CAN THIS BE ?
anyway so in the end i had to cancel my card, block all payments from it, and wait 7-10 days for a new card wich really wasnt convenient.
honestly, any other company doing this would be accused of being con-artists, but because its microsoft people take it as a legit proceedure.
and i havent even gone into how useless the woman on the other end of the phone was, i could barely hear her, and she gave me no information that was of any help to me whatsoever.

saying that, this isnt the first time microsoft have been caught using dirty tricks to rake in the most cash from a situation.

Second xbox360 wireless headset in 6months has died, contacted xbox customer support to ask for a replacement, but I could not understand what they were saying and they could not understand me either!. Is it too much to ask for xbox support operatives to have a basic understanding of the English language and likewise of the product? or were they thinking to save money by employing eastern European and Asian operatives, as I suspect they were when they built the headset in the first bloody place, and used cheap parts. Microsoft could learn a lot from Nintendo, who make more money from a technically inferior but more reliable console (Wii).

My name is Scott. I own an XBOX360 and it is not working. I called in to support on 8/10/09 to request a return label (after the website failed to allow me to produce a return shipping label)to send my XBOX in for repair. I spoke with Mel who informed me that he is having some difficulties verifying my address and I will need to be transferd to a supervisor. I then spoke to Kevin who also told me that his systems are having difficultes verifying my address. I told Kevin that the postal service changed my zip code and that may be the issue. Kevin reassured me that someone from the Systems Team will be contacting me within 3-5 days for resolution. I never recieved a call. Today 8/18/09 I called back to resolve the issue so I can enjoy my Xbox again. I spoke to another supervisor who then told me that "systems is still looking into the issue regarding your address". I asked the supervisor if he has GOOGLE Maps and to key in my address. The supervisor agreed that my address was valid after verifying it online. I then asked him "what else do I need to do?". He told me that systems will need to contact me and a repair order has yet to be created. I work in the telecommunication industry and my performance is measured on resolving the issue at the first point of contact. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. The supervisor did not do a thing. MICROSOFT are you not in the software business? Is your outsource call center using your systems? YOu should know first hand on how to repair the issues. Are there contingency plans inplace incase something like this happens. I live where I live. I recieve mail everyday. I pay a bills here every month...but you think I live in Imagination Land. HELP ME PLEASE. Take care of your customers please or do we not matter to you anymore?

We purchased a Microsoft XBox 360 in June 2017 for our son. This past weekend it stopped working and started flashing 3 red lights. The store we purchased it from informed us that the warranty on that particular probelm had been extended from one year to three years. I called Microsoft today to find out how to get the system replaced and was told they will only repair the system. Of course the location is somewhere in the midwest and we have to mail the system to them, which will take approx. one month. I just bought Guitar Hero for Xbox 360 for my son for Christmas which he won't even be able to play now. My complaint is this: If Microsoft is aware that the system has this problem then they should not make their customers wait months for repairs. They should be replacing the system for them immediately. Their customer service reps could care less of your problems. The first person that answered the phone hung up immediately when I told her I was calling with a complaint. I have 63 pages of complaints I have printed off the internet regarding Microsoft and their LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. I hope Bill Gates enjoys his Christmas knowing that he has screwed over so many of his customers who have bought his products for Christmas presents.
