Mike Scott Plumbing has been our go-to plumbers since we moved here in 2012
Mike Scott Plumbing has been our go-to plumbers since we moved here in 2012. Today we had James R. come work on assorted plumbing issues in our bathrooms. He was friendly, professional, and patient with our questions. As always, we are very happy with his service!
Mike Scott Plumbing, Inc
Mike Scott Plumbing, Inc. doesn't really guarantee or support their own work for more than 30 days. Be careful. Even though I had a disagreement with them, they did come and swap out a basic flapper in the toilet tank that they had put in two months ago and made me pay $100 for it. I won't ever hire them or suggest them again.
I can't say enough about the grate service and kindnes shown to me by Mike Scott Plumbing
I can't say enough about the grate service and kindnes shown to me by Mike Scott Plumbing. The pipe from water meter to house broke. After another company had 4 workers digging holes all over my landscaped yard for 3 days, MSP came and saved the day. In less than 6 hours one man repaired all the damage to my irrigation system reran a new water line and filled the holes. I highly recommend Mike scott Plumbing.
Nelson (Red) installed a new toilet for us
Nelson (Red) installed a new toilet for us. Nelson was very professional and friendly. When he was finished the work area was cleaned up and tidy. I would definitely recommend Mike Scott Plumbing Inc. This is the third time I used this company without any problems.
The personal who answer the phone are also very pleasant to deal with.
Carol *** who sold us the new toilet was super helpful and a delight to converse with.

I called Mike Scott Plumbing, Inc
I called Mike Scott Plumbing, Inc. because my shower was clogged and my toilets were overflowing when I drained the tub. Two young guys came over and used a snake to clear the clog, but they only went about 4 feet and said everything was fine. They flushed the toilet and said it was all good. They were only here for 7 minutes, and I had to pay $154.00. But the problem was still there. I called them again, and they said I had to pay the full price because they didn't see any problem. It's obvious that there is a problem. During the 7 minutes they were here, they were fooling around with each other outside. Just be careful.
I called lots of places and they couldn't come until Monday morning
I called lots of places and they couldn't come until Monday morning. But when I called these guys, they sent someone right away. They said they would come between 6-9am, but the guy actually came at 7:00pm. He was really nice and professional. He taught us about our septic system and was patient with our kids, especially our son with ADHD. He even cleaned up the hole he dug and gave us a great deal. The price was really good. I would give them 5++++ stars and more. I highly recommend them and will use them again. Thank you George Stetson for being patient and efficient, and thanks to the dispatcher (I can't remember his name) for sending someone right away. God bless.
Recently moved to Florida into a 55+ community
Recently moved to Florida into a 55+ community. As with any move, there are maintenance items that need to be addressed. When using one of the two outside water connections, it made a strange noise. Later, we found out that the baffle needed to be changed. My wife called Mike Scott Plumbing to replace the old connections with new ones, and we were satisfied with the job. However, later that day, while inspecting my air conditioner, the hose connection came disconnected from the house and water started spraying into the yard. I immediately contacted Mike Scott Plumbing to come back, and they charged us for another service call and parts. Since then, I have been very careful with the hose connections, hoping they won't break again. But yesterday, June 13, another contractor was using the other water connection when it disconnected from its base and PVC pipe, causing water to leak into the brick foundation and flood my living room and sunroom. I have never seen this happen before, but now it has happened to both water connections. I will contact another plumbing company to inspect the home's exterior water connections and hopefully prevent this disastrous situation from happening again.
My dad bought a drain field from Mike Scott Plumbing
My dad bought a drain field from Mike Scott Plumbing. It got put in on [protected]. 'Bout two and a half years later, my dad reached out to the company (Mike Scott Plumbing) 'cause somethin' seemed off and he wanted 'em to come check out his septic/drain field. Mike Scott Plumbing told him his warranty was up and they couldn't do nothin'. On Jan 6th 2020, the whole house got flooded and we had to file an insurance claim. After the claim, our homeowners insurance canceled our policy. We got the septic tank pumped and thought it was fine. (Since the drain field is still new.. just under 5 years old) Ever since that flood, we gotta pump the septic every 2-2 1/2 months to keep it from backin' up into the house. The company we got pumpin' the septic told us our drain field "failed". It ain't no good. There's mud all in the pipes/tubes. On Aug. 24 2020, I called up Mike Scott Plumbing to see if they could send someone to take a look. They sent Pat, a manager, out to the house that same day. Pat said the drain field they put in on [protected] had failed. Pat said he needed to talk to his boss (owner) and would get back to me 'bout what they could do to fix it. Pat never called me back. I called him twice after he came to the house. When I called the office on Monday August 31st, Pat told me we're past the warranty and they ain't willin' to do nothin' for us. I asked Pat (the manager) how long a normal drain field would last, and he said, "15 years". Our drain field will be in the ground 5 years at the end of next month. We started havin' trouble 'bout 2 1/2 years in. Now I'm bein' told that Mike Scott uses a system that don't need no rocks underneath, and that's why it failed. Mike Scott keeps usin' this system 'cause they know the warranty will run out before the system fails. I wouldn't recommend this company.
After buying our house, I noticed the Expansion Tank on the water heater was no good, so I hired a handyman to put on a new one
After buying our house, I noticed the Expansion Tank on the water heater was no good, so I hired a handyman to put on a new one. But then, the water heater started making loud noises, so I called Mike Scott Plumbing (MSP) two weeks later to change it out. When I got the bill, I saw that they charged me for a "New" Expansion Tank. I called MSP and told them the tank was only two weeks old and I wanted it back to take it to Lowes for a refund. They said the tank was already thrown away and they couldn't find it. I gave MSP the benefit of the doubt, which brings me to my current experience with them.
On 2 February , I smelled a bit of gas in my attic. I called TECO, and they sent a technician who confirmed a gas leak, turned off my gas, and told me to call a plumber. So, I called MSP again, and they sent a technician the next morning, which was great because we had no hot water or way to cook. One technician looked around and sprayed soapy water on joints. Then, he called for another truck with a sniffer. The three of them searched in the attic and found a couple of leaks in the hot water heater line and the gas range line. They told me all the gas pipes were worn out and that their Engineering Section would handle the job. Later, they determined that "All" of the gas lines needed to be replaced, costing a whopping $3677.00. They couldn't start the work until late March.
I called MSP and asked a nice lady there for a detailed bill. She firmly said they don't offer that, and in the background, a man loudly told me they don't provide itemized billing and I could take it or leave it. Suspicious, I called a plumbing supply company and asked for the cost of around 120 feet of CSST gas pipe, which was about $4.00 per foot. 120' X $4.00 = $480. That's more than enough to do the job. I can't understand how it would take three highly skilled technicians all day to remove 4 flexible gas lines with 8 fittings in the attic and attach four new gas lines across the rafters with 8 new fittings. Maybe that's why MSP doesn't give customers an itemized bill. By the way, I called another plumber, and for $180.00, he quickly found my gas leak. It was caused by a nail sticking out just three feet away from where the three Mike Scott plumbers were sitting around the attic access for two hours trying to find the leak before giving up and deciding to charge me for replacing all the gas lines. Always get a second opinion when something doesn't seem right.

I called Mike Scott Plumbing, Inc
I called Mike Scott Plumbing, Inc. to come to my house and snake the line from my septic tank to the house, but they didn't do it! I asked them to clear the drain from the septic to the house, but they said it wouldn't help because the septic was full. They called another division to pump it out and charged me $131 just to come and look. They said pumping fees are separate from the house visit, but they didn't do the job I wanted in the first place. They left the septic tank open in my yard and I had to sign a paper without even looking at it because I was so upset. I specifically asked for the pipe to be snaked, but the service person refused and decided to dig open the septic tank on their own and leave it open when they left. They also put on the invoice that I called for a whole house stoppage and to dig up the septic tank, which is not true!
Repairmen used the wrong equipment to saw through a foot-wide root, causing the job to last 7 hours
Repairmen used the wrong equipment to saw through a foot-wide root, causing the job to last 7 hours. On 9/29, I had 2 workers arrive at noon. They were finding the root that blocked the sewer line. They dug down to expose it so it could be cut. At 2 o'clock, I went out to see their progress and found that they were trying to saw a foot-wide root with a saws all. When I mentioned they needed a chainsaw or circular saw, they disagreed and said they were fine. I called the company immediately to express my concerns. They said they were in touch with a supervisor and sending pictures. At 4 pm, I went outside to check on their progress and saw they hadn't made much headway. I voiced my frustration again about the saws all. I called again and asked for a supervisor. A woman answered but didn't give her name. She said they had the situation under control and had just picked up another piece of equipment. I told her they weren't making progress. I went back outside at 5 and saw a flatbed with a backhoe and 2 workers. I overheard them saying the root was pinching the sewer line. One worker told me they were going to use the backhoe to remove the root. I have photos of when I called the office and a picture of the root and the time the backhoe arrived.
