I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally express my deep concern and disappointment regarding an experience I had at your North Hollywood location (6160 C Laurel Cyn Blvd, Ste 180, North Hollywood, CA 91606) on Monday, October 14th, 2024, at 7:30 PM PST, where an employee violated the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in an interaction involving my legally registered service animal.
During my visit, an employee approached me and insisted that my service animal was not allowed in the inside of restaurant, despite the fact that service animals are protected under federal law. Not only did the employee fail to follow the lawful protocol for inquiring about service animals, but they also argued with me, dismissing my rights. The employee further claimed to have a service animal of their own, but their clear lack of understanding about ADA regulations suggested otherwise.
As someone who depends on my service animal for essential support, this interaction left me feeling deeply upset, offended, and violated. The ADA exists to protect individuals with disabilities, and the actions of this employee were in direct conflict with those protections. No one should have to experience such treatment, particularly in a public establishment.
I am requesting that disciplinary actions, including suspension, be taken against this employee. I also strongly urge reeducation for all staff regarding the rights of individuals with service animals under the ADA, to ensure such incidents do not occur in the future.
For your reference, I have attached a photo of the employee involved in this incident.
I would appreciate a prompt response and confirmation that this matter is being addressed seriously. Thank you for your attention to this important issue.
