I am located in the Greater Toronto Area, and the Money Marts here are running what feels like a shake down with Western Union transfers. If you receive anything over a 1000$ transfer every single Money Mart within a 30 minute driving radius of my home address did not have cash to give me and could only give me money orders! I walked in to make my loan payment and to borrow again. The teller that waited on me asked if I was paying cash or card. I replied cash. So the process began. I did the paperwork, signed and all was done. I asked her for large bills. She said I have 20’s. I said are you the boss? She said yes. I said all these tellers you have here 3 more total don’t have large bills? I seen other tellers that had large bills, so I said can’t you buy them for the smaller bills? She replied we don’t swap money like that very sarcastically and nasty. I’m giving it back to you like you gave it to me. I said oh this is why you are acting this way. Lord help you just like He’s going to help me. I asked her name. She said Ashley.
Desired outcome: There Corporate Office needs to evaluate there staff interactions with the public. And post we give you money back to you like you give it. This went very sour and this business is extremely competitive.

Installment loan not being taken out of account due to money marts workers not doing their job right
hi there I Beverley Tashoots are having trouble with money marts installment loan due date pay outs for each month that I get my pension on. 3 times I went into money marts offices in prince george bc to give them my authorized prepayment banking info and i don't know if these workers in prince george offices are senting my banking info out to head office of money mart cause each time money mart try's to take money from my accout RBC THEY SAY ITS NSF which is wrong cause i have the money in my account and its still there. and money mart head office are still using the old RBC account to try and get money out from..I took my preauthorized bank statement into prince george bc money mart offices twice now and still they try the old rbc account.. 3 months in a row I had to go to money marts office in prince George bc to pay this installment loan and now the head office in victoria bc say they put this march payment to collections so how could that be when its not my fault the money is still in my RBC account waitng for them to take this monthly payment they use the old account again when i sent them the new preauthorized bank statement so its not NSF the money is still there please do the right thing and use the new banking info i gave head office in victoria bc today..this should never happened to me my husband and I kenny tashoots have a good name with money mart so please straighten this out now no NSF AND its not my fault the money is there and no collections agency please..
Desired outcome: no collections agency and no NSF we will pay this today if possible and we will just go into money mart branch in prince george bc to pay this out.
Multiple credit checks
I have a current loan with Money Mart that I established 20 days ago. I have a top-up option on my account to top-up the loan. The top-up is supposed to use my most recent credit score because it falls under the 30 day range. However, what Money Mart did, is run multiple credit checks for the top-up loan. I tried it a few times on the site because I couldn't understand why it was getting denied. Money Mart ran multiple credit checks instead of using my existing credit score, thus negatively impacting my credit score. I called the customer service number and no one was able to assist in providing any information to me. They didn't put me through to a manager as requested. I now have no top-up loan and my credit is impacted.
Desired outcome: I need the credit checks removed and my loan to go through as a top-up and not a new application
Late payment interest
When the pandemic started i called to ask if I could make a payment at a late date because I was not working a complete 40-hour week. I was told yes don't worry we understand. Now I am having to pay an additional $1000+ the initial loan interest. If I would have known that that late payment was going to cost me just as much as the loan I would of barrowed the money to make the payment. PLEASE HELP
Desired outcome: I would like the interest on the late payment to be squashed and an apology ofr the constant calling and rude comments.

Came in to money mart on 300 block Albert Street Regina. Thursday 7:20 pm. Store was unattended. Clerk asks me all these questions that weren't asked before on same transaction. Asked me my number. Kept saying no, it wrong and wanted to close session. Gave him old number then rudely gave me receipt. Negated to update the acct. I BIT MY TOUNGUE THE ENTIRE TIME. I'LL NEVER STEP FOOT IN A M.M. Money mart titanium credit card
I recently received a replacement titanium credit card.I put 200 dollars in it and have about 180 left. They said it was fees owed. I have tried to purchase anything on line and it won't work or says that my card is not set up for purchases. I have called the credit card place about 6 times normally placed on hold about a hour. And hung up on once . They tell me money mart will help and money mart says they can't help call the credit card. I have went to both places and called several times . I wanted to take a trip with my child however I cannot get this credit card to work and money mart or the credit card place seems to know how to help. Feels as though my money on the card is just being taking by the credit card place and money mart. And no one seems to no how to help. I would not get the credit card if anyone is thinking about it.I have honestly spent about 9 hours in total to get card to work and it still isn't.

Mobile check cashing app
On July 18th 2022 I had uploaded two separate checks in the amount of $100 , both from the same company moments apart from one another. On Money Marts app it showed both checks were cashed and said they had deposited two payments of $95.01 into my bank account. When I went to try to take my money out the ATM it said my withdrawal request had been denied so I checked my bank account and had noticed that only one payment of $95.01 had been placed into my account. I immediately called money mart and explained what happened and also spoke to my bank just to make sure there wasn’t something else going on and my bank confirmed only one deposit was sent to my account. Now it’s been six days since I’ve been waiting for money mart to fix this problem and pay me my money. I’ve been hung up on several times, everyday I get told a supervisor will give me a call back no one ever calls me back. I can’t hardly understand the people on the other end of the phone and they just place me on hold every time and nothing ever gets resolved. I will never use money mart ever again I am very upset and feel like they stole from me. They are nothing but thrives and have horrible customer service and I wasn’t what’s rightfully mine!
Desired outcome: I want to be paid the $95.01 what’s owed to me from the check they cashed and kept of mine I have my bank statements showing only one payment went into my bank
Money mart has refused to deposit my money after they had me deposit it on there app and write void across the front of my check everytime I call them to ask them when I will get my money that’s. Owed to me they either hang up or just place me on hold they never tell me anything I have asked to speak with a supervisor and they can’t or won’t let me they are very hard to understand and no one ever calls me back like I’ve been told every single time I call. Check cashing
My boyfriend has cashed his check at money mart every single month for years. It is an income assistance/government check. He went there earlier in the week but they had no cash and told him to come back later in the week. So he did. There is a male that works, their first name is Dean, he knows my boyfriend personally as he sees him almost every month cash the same check. He has also done this to him 3 other times for the same check. So because of the situation of “no money” earlier in the week, his check is now 9 days past issue date. Dean says because it’s over a week late, he has to call the income assistance office and “verify” the check, even though he is there every month with the same check. I spoke to a manager at another location who says he shouldn’t need to do that if it’s a check that’s cashed every month. We waited 46 mins then the income assistance office went on lunch so we took the check and left! Wasted our time the first time when they had no cash, then the second time by not cashing his check. I would like to make a complaint against this guy, he is also very rude telling my boyfriend to “leave your lady friend at home next time” like I’m a dog or something. He’s also very rude to other customers and makes mistakes frequently. I attached a video I took of the conversation with this employee named Dean. Thanks.

I put my IRS Treasury check in at 3 o'clock at 7 o'clock I talked to the same lady 4 times she had me put for deposit only I do not have a checking account so now I have to send off for another chance for another check I think this was very unfair and the unfair and she shouldn't have to do that if you all wouldn't go in to Cash it

Money mart class action settlement services
Via the MM class action suit in Canada i was awarded a voucher for some 4000 dollars owed to me by MoneyMart. The voucher is finally this week able to be redeemed for cash. However in late October i contracted severe covid and have been in the ICU of Rockyview Hospital ever since with doctors telling me i am looking at another 3 months min before any chance of getting out. I am in critical care level and am strapped to a ventilator to breathe thus I am unable to appear personally in a MoneyMart store to redeem my voucher for the cash owed to me.
I have repeatedly requested to Moneymart Settlement Services that my daughter be authorized to redeem my voucher for the monies owed to me. I have repeatedly had my emails to this end completely ignored by MoneyMart Settlement Services.
Doctors tell me my situation is 50/50 at best - that is I could pass away at any moment. I would like to have these monies owed to me to be allowed by my daughter to receive so she can put them into an education trust fund for my granddaughter as potentially my last Xmas gift to my daughter a single mother in Edmonton.
Can someone at MoneyMart please help this wish come true? Please.
Desired outcome: That my daughter be allowed to receive the settlement monies owing to me due to myself being physically unable to appear in a MM store in Canada to do that

I did file a complaint over a week ago. They said the complaint department would get back to me and if they did not I could call them back at the number they would email me. Website issue, unethical, ran hard pull without acknowledgement/approval
Incident occurred 10/8. Been in store before, credit not run. Never missed on any payday loan, always paid on time. Didn't know if had online account so did password reset. Asked me for ss, bdate, including year. Problem with birthdate year defaulted to number kept trying to change. Then thought it worked, hit next and brought up my old data. At that point thought everything was okay so kept going. Declined me. Turned out took the wrong birth year but how could it bring up my personal data in that case. Database issue primary key or programming fault. Also, not accessible as far as first window letting know chg 1000% their fees, then bullet points but obscured in plain view credit. Now no acknowledgement or authorizaiton to pull a hard pull! It declined me because of birth year issue and my credit got hit 62 point loss for a hard pull not authorized. Company is a nightmare won't fix. Trying to refinance and they will not remove this from credit asap! Not fair, unsecure website/unaccessible no checkbox authorization to run hard pull! Customer service rep allen said was a problem ie others had problem with site similar to this and even he said absurd that a hard pull was run for a $300 payday loan! No reason to decline me. Out of 600 payday loans since 2009, I have never missed/been late. Their site is screwy and insecure. I'm trying to refinance before forced retirement so time is of the essence! 1

Money Transfer
I wasn't happy with the Bank's currency exchange so I thought I'd ask Money Mart for the best way to exchange currency without getting ripped off
They said Western Union was the best option. Because after the transaction fee I would get "the exact exchange rate"
So I trusted them, got my affairs in order and sent the money via Western Union... When the money came through it turns out they charged 25% for the exchange rate on top of the fee
I questioned it and Money Mart said the exchange rate can change every 10min and that Western Union set their own exchange rate... I would of never used WU if they told me this! That's really important information to leave out!
Why did they suggest WU as the "best option" knowing this information?
I then said I'd rather have the money picked up by the sender and send it another way. Money Mart said the money had already been sent, hence they would need to charge another transaction fee and another exchange fee for me to have the sender pick up the money they sent
Then they told me to ring the Western Union number if I have a problem with that. I explained I was lied to in store by Money Mart, not WU. Thus I feel this is a MM issue
MM refused to take any responsibility!
All I wanted was for them to admit they lied, "miss communicated" or forgot vital information and help me get a full refund from WU
Later I rang Western Union to explain. They basically said "too bad!". I told them I was lied to by their customer representative... They told me I can't prove that. WU has almost 85% negative reviews in the past 12 months. I don't understand why Money Mart associate with them, let alone actually recommend them as the "best option"
I am of the opinion that Western Union is not to blame here. The Money Mart employee who left out the vital information is to blame

Hi my name is Everitt Caplette and I cash my cheque at the North Battleford money mart. When I go cash my cheques there I have a very easy time with Maria she's an awesome person on the other hand the other girls that work there are very very rude and do not do their job right. They sit there and let their customers wait until customers start getting mad and end up just walking out. Which I've had happen to me! I'm there every Monday or Tuesday and these girls that work there are ignorant and very rude… isn't customer service supposed to be a friendly experience but it this store isn't and I think those girls should be replaced except for Maria. I've been to your Regina branches and I had a easier time there and they were friendly unlike the girls in North Battleford. I sent 100 cash through peaceriver branch to eastlink for a deposite for Internet thAt was 1 month ago they are stating it is lost through teleplay and are refusing to give me a straight answer as to where my money for internet fir my kidS online schooling went. The lDy at the money mart told me it would take 3-5 days to get to eastlink it had been a month and I'm being told I am harassing them by calling to find out where my money went the tellers name is Agnes.
