My family and I have lived in Sheffield Heights in Nashville, TN since 2011. Since Morgan Properties has taken over management of the apartments, we have had more problems in the past few years than in our entire stay. More specifically, we have had issues with neighbors that the management here refuses to handle in any way because "this is out of our hands." That is what we were told by management.
Today, my brother received a Postmates order and went out to receive it. When he did, a dog was jumping on the delivery person and a woman was yelling at them. This woman proceeded to yell expletives and threaten to steal their car for ignoring her. The person did not know English, and my brother told the woman. The woman's next remarks were racist, and when my brother pointed this out to her, she threatened him with violence. She then followed my brother to the front office when he went to report this to the management. One of the people in the office recognized the woman, meaning she has been a repeat offender in some way to the front office, but the head manager said the best option was to call the cops. This is a resident issue that management can handle and that the police would not have any business dealing with. Management essentially told my brother they weren't going to do anything about the issue, even though the woman was volatile, threatening, and had even gone as far as stalking him. It took a few minutes for him to be safe to leave, where someone else in the office escorted him home. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN.
This is not the first time we have had issues with management. Our upstairs neighbors are constantly loud, verbally and explicitly so, and have also caused water damage that took five separate trips from four separate contractors to identify and repair the bathroom ceiling. We have reported our issues to management but still, nothing is done. Sheffield Heights' manager is more focused on avoiding problems they would have to deal with, instead of fixing the issue and ensuring safety and peace of mind to their residents. We have been here for over ten years and have seen many different facets of property ownership. This management is proving to be the most egregious. If you fail to protect the threat of violence a resident receives, what are you going to do when something actually happens and you are the reason why?
