Makes Everything Easy
Earlier this year I purchased Scott’s weed and feed product before I knew about the app. I also noticed the Scott’s had a lot of other products for different times of the year and to do different things to help keep your lawn nice and healthy all year. So I began to wonder if I could build lawn car plan and that’s how I discovered the app.
I told the app info about the area I live in, size of my yard, and the current condition of it (which the app makes it super easy to do) and it made a custom lawn care plan for me. It tells me the products I can use and when to give me the best results for my lawn. The coolest part is that I can purchase everything I need for the year at once and be done with the hassle of going to the store every season to get the product I need.
I’d highly recommend this app (and Scott’s products) if you want a better-looking, healthier lawn. I’ve been experiencing great results!
Needs improvements
The concept is nice, but they need to link it all together. I purchased the program yet the app doesn’t recognize it and still asks to purchase. They should connect it so that you can see or modify the schedule (I.e. swap out fertilizer products). Watering indicator is nice, but you have to manually be on top of checking the app to know if you need to water. Timing seems off too. All of our neighbors are treating dandelions along with other weeds, but this program doesn’t touch them til the end of May (although when I first signed up for the program it estimated treatment in early May). Also, you have zero control (or communication) with the vendor. They will ship ‘when you need to treat your yard’. The issue comes up when you have no idea when that shipment will come and no way to tell them to shift it a week if you’re on vacation or something. The concept is there, they just need to follow through to make this a 5 star app!
They made an ok app into crap
Agree with all the other reviewers, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with this app. Integration with iCal? Am I missing something or is this nothing more than a normal iCal interface? I can't figure out how you log your applications any more which was the only useful aspect in the old app. This new one is nothing but a product brochure. I think whoever is in charge of developing this app has never used a smart phone for anything other than browsing a 1990's website. This is not how you make an iPhone app! I agree with the one reviewer who said this app should be sending me notifications and coupons when it's time to apply, and I'll never look at a competitor again. I have always used Scotts products and unfortunately it looks like I'm going to have to continue to manually track my applications in iCal. This app is so disappointing, in fact, that it alone has dramatically reduced my once high opinion of Scott's.
Key watering feature missing
I think this app is great, with consistent reminders of what to apply and when for the lawn care products. I only wish there was a similar feature for the watering. While you can see the total water for your lawn over the last 7 days, I wish the app would tell you when you will fall below the 7 day cumulative 1inch of water level. One recommendation is to provide the additional detail of the past 7 days of watering so I can then predict when I will be below the 1 inch water level. Another option is to push a reminder of sorts when you fall below the 1 inch level.
Without that I find myself going into the app manually (and without consistency) hoping to catch when I should be watering my lawn. While nutrients and lawn care products help out my lawn tremendously, watering it helps it the most to stay green. A little change to the app would help ensure I stay on top of watering it without wasting water or waiting too long between waterings.
Need to Download Reminders/Cal Schedule
The app does have notifications to remind users when to apply product(s), which is great. BUT, considering that the app is less likely to be used during the winter and the first reminders for many are in early spring, there’s a high likelihood that iOS will have automatically offloaded the app before notifications are displayed.
It would be VERY useful to be able to add the schedule to my calendar via the app.
Aside from that, after using the app for about 15 mins, it seems pretty helpful. Set up was easy, straightforward, and helpful. That said, I’m surprised it didn’t ask about sunlight, traffic patterns, or soil. According to packaging for most seed, those seem to be primary variants. But, I’m not the expert.
THE SQ FT CALCULATOR IS EXTREMELY USEFUL and worth the download just for that.
Aside from the calendar export, my only other request for future versions is an intuitive guide to educate me about my lawn and the different types of grass.
Used to be great
The app used to be great and can be again if some features are brought back. I used to be able to break my yard up into sections (front yard, backyard) as each of them had different issues and needs (more sun, more shade/moss) I don’t seem to be able to do this now - which, honestly, could be operator error, but it is no longer intuitive if possible.
I also used to be able to just open the app and BAM! it was ready to go. I signed in once to create a profile and never had to worry about signing in to access my information again. Now, because I open the app so infrequently, I have to sign in every time. Heaven forbid I forget my password; I have to request a new one through email, hope the link works, wait for that link to NOT work, do it all again, reset password through website, go to app, enter username, enter password, whoops! username disappeared, enter it again, enter password again...you get the idea. Please fix this so it is easy to use the app again. It’s such a little thing, but so aggravating.
Oops
I thought this app was a great idea. For a while, it would remind me when and what to put down, and I was so enamored of the thing that I trusted it to keep track of many custom activities related to the lawn and house — when to apply pre-emergent, when to cut back fountain grass, etc. etc... OOPS. The app gives you the ability to “Add an Activity”, which I did. A lot. I thought I was good. Nope. Just used it for the first time in a few months, and upon logging in I find that none of my data was preserved. It required me to create my lawn plan all over again, and only a few of the items related to applying Scott’s products (my yard sq ft, for example) were present, but not even all of that, and NONE of my custom activities/reminders existed. It blew them all out. Apparently none of the data is saved in the cloud, or at lease not reliably so. Don’t trust the thing for anything other than the lawn care reminders, and do so knowing even that may require you to re-enter your data to recreate after whatever system hiccup I’ve experienced rears its ugly head.
Very dissatisfied
I have filled out the surgery to determine what type of plan I need. I have lots of weed and many brown spots. I purchased this yearly plan and received my first shipment. It was just a turf builder. I filled out this survey numerous times even telling it that I have nothing but weeds and my yard is brown. Every time it gives me the same plan of just turf builder, the same product 4 times a year. What, am I just supposed to fertilize my weeds? They have never offered a fertilizer with a weed killer or a pre emergent. I was on hold for over 30 minutes to talk with a representative. They took my personal info in case we got disconnected. Well guess what? We got disconnected and they never called me back. I even sent them a message asking why they didn’t return my call about an hour later. It’s been 4 hours and I’ve not received a return call. The only way that they will take this product back is if I pay shipping. I told them that I would keep this shipment and work it in if they would just come up with a plan that fits my yard. That’s when we got disconnected
This Was Process Ever, Best Results!
I have always used Scott’s products and even hired their spray service for a while. My lawn was hit or miss every year. Many people in our neighborhood use various services, but there were about 3-4 that have the best lawns I’ve ever seen. When asked what was the secret, who they use, there was one common denominator, The Scott’s App! They all raves about it and follow it religiously and told me the “why” of how it works. It’s all about timing! I’ve always been using the right product, just the wrong time. Usually driven by temperature and the advise given at the hardware store. Matter of factly, this year following the app I went and bought the first product when it said to apply it. My trusted hardware store said I was nuts for putting down what the app said and when. They couldn’t have been more wrong. My lawn has never been this healthy, weed free, and green this early in the spring. I usually waiting until late April or early May for bonus S, that’s way to late as I know now! Thanks to the app! Thanks Scott’s, this is a lawn game changer!
What is going on Scott’s?!?!
I’ve been using this app for years and thought it was okay for my lawn care needs. This year, I decided to actually sign up for the annual lawn care plan that was recommended for my lawn. I used the app to make my one-time payment for the 10% discount and would have the products delivered 5-7 days prior to application time for my area. As soon as I hit the purchase button, my app started the “already indicated by many” non-functioning, endless “hang tight while we create your plan” loop. I also received three shipping notifications the next day via email and the three products arrived the next day. Wow, that was fast! Luckily, I received 3 of the 4 products from my actual plan. When I contacted customer service via chat, I typed my concerns and was basically told that they were aware of the issues with the app not loading AND incorrect processing of subscription/shipments. While they are “working on it” I was told I can just store the products until it’s time to apply. Sigh. PLEASE MAKE YOUR APP FUNCTIONAL AND YOUR SUBSCRIPTION PLAN WORK AS ADVERTISED. Thanks
Poor customer service
A couple months ago the triple action fertilizer was applied and directions were followed exactly but for some reason my yard filled with dandelions which I never had a problem before. I sent in the receipts for the 4 bags of fertilizer I bought and took pictures as proof. I emailed and chatted with CSR but once I called they showed that I have provided all the documentation needed for a refund and was told that I followed the instructions to get my money back and a refund would be issued. Well that was a couple months ago and still no action. Keep getting the run around. Now I’ve always used Scott’s products with no issues and I believe somehow I received a bad product as I do plan on still using there products but this has been a terrible disappointment with customer service which has yet to be resolved. If this is resolved per my phone conversation a couple months ago I’ll be happy but why does it take months to resolve a problem that I was told was resolved and I still continue to try and get a hold of a supervisor which I’m told don’t worry I have taken care of this.
Obnoxious sign in every access
Every time I open the app, I have to log in - there's no option to save my ID or anything. I'm pretty sure security of my lawn plan is not so critical that I should have to re-sign-in when I want to check on the date I next apply fertilizer. Not only that, but once you sign in, you still have to swipe through 5 screens of how to use the app before you can see your plan. They seriously need to cut down on the difficulty of accessing the app if they want people to keep using it. I'm about at the point I will just copy my plan into my calendar and use that so I can refer to it without all the upfront difficulties. Aside from that, seems handy - includes guidance on whether or not you should water based on local information. I do wish it had some kind of diagnostics for problems - eg, "my lawn has brown patches" --> "could be problem x, y, or z". Seems like that would be right up Scott's alley for guiding you to products when it is necessary (difference between chinch bugs requiring treatment versus just needing to practice better general care). There's some good stuff, but needs some improvement too.
Great app that works
Right off the bat, DON’T ORDER FROM SCOTTS! Don’t be lazy and have it delivered to your door (unless amazon). I tried it and I never received my turf builder until I emailed and asked why it hasn’t shipped after 5 business days. They then shipped it out the following day with no reply to my email.
Now that being said. People need to rate just the app. I wish I could find my lawns square footage I put in. Was buying thinken’r by Scott’s and I couldn’t find it. Thus far the app has worked great and is full of knowledge. I see what I need and pick it up at Home Depot then after applying it, I check mark ✅ applied in the app.
My lawn was 70% crabgrass & weeds, 30% fescue. After using the app from February on I’m happy to see some really nice dark green grass coming up. Can’t wait to see how the thicken’r works!
Thus far very satisfied with the app. Just don’t buy direct from Scott’s as they’ll take your money and leave you hanging. App is a very solid 4.5/5 stars. Don’t let people complaining about their customer service discourage you from using this app. If can’t pick up the products locally, might as well hire someone to do it for you.

Recommendations are off and the app Does not work
I stumbled onto this plan last year and was thrilled. Cost is reasonable, I use shipments as a reminder to put it down and also saves me a trip to the store. I was in. I completed the quiz and was setup for 4 bags for the year of the standard lawn food. I was looking for weed and feed, but I thought they were the experts so I followed their plan. I also added grub killer
I am not happy with the results. Grass is green but I have weeds all over. Knowing that for this year, I completed the quiz again and the same four bags of feed came back as a result. I completed the quiz 5 more times with all different conditions and received the exact same recommendations - nothing to address my weeds. I even selected the worst case scenario with tons of weeds, brown color, and patchy. Still the same exact recommendation of the basic lawn food.
I have used the app in the past and recently purchased a new iPhone. I log with my account and it just continues to cycle a pop-up that says “Hanging tight ...”. It never completes and gets to the dashboard.
A very frustrating experience nonetheless. I love Scott’s that I get from the store, but this program is seriously lacking that same quality.
Rainfall Meter is Useful
What I like:
Rainfall meter lets you know how how much rain has fallen in you area and how much watering it needs. This is what makes the app valuable and worth using even if you dont use scotts products.
General tips and in depth guides with videos on lawn care. It’s very informative for the most part. (With the exception of some potentially misleading information regarding fertilizing lawn early in the season)
Application schedule for Scotts products is convenient, although I cant seem to find the Scott's product that I use to add on my tracker. (Starter fertilizer with weed control)
What I don't like:
Not a big deal, but I don’t understand why the app tracks my location when it’s not open. I chose to only track while the app is open, but it still tracks in the background even after i selected to turn off background refresh. I have to close the app completely to turn off tracking. This is the only app I have that gives me this problem.
Overall I like the app. It’s nice to scroll through the guides and read up on some tips. I’m not very experienced, so it does help if your new to lawn care even if you don't use Scott’s products. Just keep in mind that some, but not all info is just to push you into using their product.
Less than one star
I started my Scott’s App and purchased the 4 step plan after Tru Green in my area purchased Scott’s LawnCare service. Customer Service and quality of care, product and follow through fell when services transitioned to Tru Green from my previous service provider Scott’s Lawn Care In St Peters Mo., so I turned to the use of the Scott’s APP and purchased the Scott’s 4 step program plus grub control, and Disease control.
What’s been the results so far?
Purchases that have not arrived and when it did it was not the 4 step program I purchased. The season is now starting in my area and I need to apply my pre-emergent - no product to apply yet. So I had to go to my local market and purchase my pre-emergent despite purchasing through the website and paying for product I still do not have.
The website? The site that is advertised to help me manage the applications of Scott’s products I purchased, does not help do that despite its advertisement. The Scott’s Lawn app is only a purchase site for product. There is NO lawn management program or direction when to apply the products purchased.
This has all been a big advertising hoax and a poor website with false advertising. It’s probably run by Tru Green who purchased the Scott’s Lawn Care Service in my area because the customer service and double talk is reminiscent of their profile too
Very dissatisfied and would like a refund
Tried to like it but
Not ready for prime time. Pluses: introduced me to some new products (not surprising this aspect works well, as promoting Scotts products is presumably why app was made). Calendar and lawn size calculator are helpful.
Minus: irredeemably inflexible. No option to change product from the specific one suggested, or indicate that in fact used a different Scotts product. For example: recommends I overseed this spring, and use scotts starter fertilizer with weed preventer (safe for use with overaeedfong). Maybe I don't want to overseed, and use a more standard longer-acting fertilizer/preemergent crabgrass preventer? Tough luck, cant change either. (Can label the grass seed as "skipped" but doesnt change the fertilizer/weed preventer rec).
The final blow however is that if you mis-enter something it cant be changed. Ever. For example, to see what happened i entered "skipped" on the starter fertilizer. Didn't like that path, so in fact put the starter fertilizer down. Now cant be undone, and recommends another inappropriate round of fertilizer later. Even deleting the app and reinstalling doesn't allow changing this as it is linked to the online account. The "editing" of the care plan is limited to correcting your zip code and lawn size, not your records.
So looks like having gotten off track i cant use the app going forward for the rest of the year. Maybe next year. But for now deleting it.
Terrible Experience. so far
Recently began my “pay as you go” subscription and I’ve had multiple issues.
1. The app ignored what I subscribed to and chose the annual subscription which charged me $298, I chose the “pay as I go” because I don’t want to spend the cash up front even though I know I’ll spend more in the long run. I look at my bank account, they charged me for the annual. Called them, they said they’d fix it, told me to log out and back in to redo a survey for my lawn. Did it, selected the pay as you go, it then charged me three times for the summer guard application. I call them back, they say they’ll fix that too. Sent me an email in case the 5-7 days pass and it still hasn’t been refunded. Next day it arrives, FedEx shows up with 7 boxes of the blue “halts crabgrass preventer, the yellow “weed and feed” and then a bunch of orange “summer guard”. It’s July 10th, I shouldn’t be getting all of these at once correct? The only one I think I should have is the summer guard.
Not sure I will continue this subscription, thought it might be easier this way having them send me the fertilizers to my door so I know exactly when to apply but this is much more of a hassle. Could be because of the current pandemic and being under staffed, but i don’t know. Customer service is polite and willing to be helpful but so far I’m “pending” $500+ and I have to babysit my bank account to make sure they don’t charge me again.
I’m hoping this gets resolved soon.
Wanted to love app & Scotts
I was really hoping this app could help me to care for my lawn at the appropriate time for the best results. I am strongly considering returning the product I have bought and paying more for a service to do it. One month the app actually told me an upcoming weekend would be optimal to apply product, so I did. I waited for the next notification, about 4 weeks after that last treatment...nothing. So I opened the app to see what was going on. ERROR, couldn’t even log in. Tried logging into my account on a computer (hoping for just a bug in the app) error there too. So I tried contacting Scotts. No one to speak to, left an email. Took a few days to hear back that there was an issue, it’s been resolved. Go back into the app, I know see the actually weather looks colder than it should be for application & also a contradiction in application (one says dry lawn, one days wet or dry) well it rained for over 24 hours an we are wet. Through the app option to contact so on Saturday at noon I text message (app says quickest response) I get a note back at 4:30 with questions for me, even though I gave my location (that’s not that quick) I respond and get an auto response that they are now closed. Now it’s Sunday and I have no one to ask. I am at work Mon-Fri. Only option to work on the lawn is Saturday and Sunday, without customer service available on the weekend, this is useless. Without accurate directions and notifications, which is the purpose of this app. Also useless. Don’t tout something as an app to make your lawn care simple when it can’t deliver!
Great idea, close to great. Still needs a few improvements
Still seems to be a few issues with reminders and remembering my info. But overall, about the best lawn care app out there for DIYers. I do have a few suggestions that would make this app outstanding. Wouldn't mind if I had to pay 5-10.00 to get the deluxe version, I think that's money well spent if you are serious about lawn care... Here are a few things I would love to see...
-ability to add other lawn care products. I realize this app is to help sell their products, but there a some other things I do that I would like to track I.E. adding gypsum/sulfur or other nutrient, other physical actions like sending soil analysis or testing, other custom tasks for lawn maintenance like spraying dandelions.
-lawn care equipment maintenance. I know this may be out of scope of this app, but would love to be able to add features like sharpen/replace lawn mower blade, change oil/spark plug/air filter
-would like to see N/P/K values and estimated weights added to lawn. While I use the recommended scotts product, I sometimes add other products to boost deficiencies in soil (the ever popular 5/2/0) Would really love to see how much N/P/K total added to lawn per year (per 1000 ft2). Then if I could add or customize other fertilizer values to track total minerals added to lawn. This will help to keep waste and pollutant run off to a minimum.
-finally, soil analysis values and plot changes. Again, this may be out of the scope of this app, but I'd love to be able to keep notes on my lawn and easily be able to recall previous values. Tracking some things like soil PH would be awesome!
My Lawn Complaints 18
Scott’s is the Worst
Scott’s Fertilizer is quick released and fizzles out before the next application. It doesn’t treat the soil where grass grows, from the soil up. If you don’t spread it properly it will burn your lawn. The chemicals that fertilizer is consisted of will also throw off your soils PH levels. You don’t need pre emergents to control crabgrass and other weeds and you don’t need weed and feeds, all you need is feed , feed , feed with slow release nitrogen and some iron for deep green color and overseed every fall with a quality grass seed plus core aerate. Keep an eye on thatch layer as well.

Totally broken this spring
I keep getting push notifications (to an almost
Abusive frequency) that I must update the app and update my account.
Well first, I have auto-updates on and already have the latest. Second, Every time I try to open the app, it tries to walk me through specifying my yard status (green/brown/weeds/grass type). The app throws an error that it can’t fetch the grass types and to try again. It never gets past that step.
I only use the app to track rain, and it can’t even do that or sell me anything anymore. I will be deleting the app permanently if these fundamental things the app forces you to do wont work.

Needs improvement
9/2
The rain gauge needs to work accurately. Doesn’t work accurately or not at all.
Not all of your own products are on the app. I purchased Southern Gold Tall Fescue and it’s no where in the app. Not even a mention of it. If you can’t add your own products correctly, then why should I trust that the products work?
GPS/location doesn’t need to run constantly even when the app is in the background not being used. It’s not like the grass is going to crawl away and need to be tracked.
Lawn profile should have the option to add more information. It’s very limited and basic.
App layout is okay. Needs some sprucing up.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Not all Scott’s products listed
I put Scotts® DiseaseEX™ Lawn Fungicide on my lawn but I see no way to add it in the app. The only product listed in the app is GrubEx. Please add all of your products if you want this tool to be useful to the consumers.
Update: Thanks for the reply. I did see how to add a note. This is useful should I have the need to apply products that are not branded by Scotts.
If your looking for ways to improve this app along with enhancing the end user experience then I highly suggest you add the Scotts product line that is sold in the big box stores. If you want a mediocre app and a poor end user experience then don’t change a thing.
Just removed a star.

Lost all previous years data and “plan” is just fertilizer
Been using this app for a few years, and was generally pleased. But this year, all my previous years history is gone, and this years “plan” is just plain fertilizer. No weed and feed or summer guard or fall stuff. And no way to go see what I did last year. Sure it allows me to add stuff, but I shouldn’t have to. And why am I going to change things up when what worked before was good. Went through the quiz, and no matter what you picked for lawn condition, you just get plain fertilizer. I would expect different products for different lawn conditions and desired results. Hope they at least get my previous years history back or this app will be completely useless.

New Version Deleted All My History
I just updated the app on my iPhone, and it required that I log in again with my credentials. After doing so with my existing account, I soon noticed that all of my historical data from 2017 & 2018 were gone. I would like to know why this has happened and have sent an email to customer service awaiting reply.
Update: no reaction from customer Service.
Another update: In Jan 2020, Scotts did another update and deleted all of my 2019 data.
This is piss-poor management of data. They said that they could send my data from 2019 to me via email. If you can extract my data from the server to send to me via email, why can’t you migrate the data to an app update?

Need’s work
First year they didn’t get the product amount for the lawn correct. Second year I called them adjusted the amount of fertilizer they would send for the lawn. Everything was fine the second year the third year comes along they charge my account without warning on the wrong date and then revert back to the wrong amount of fertilizer. When I called them about it, they said I would have to cancel the subscription. Reapply for a new subscription with a different email address or I would continue to get the wrong amount , because my subscription would revert back to my email address so it’s always going to be wrong. That’s all they could do for me, or all they would do.

App has regressed
For years, this app had a lot of bugs & was difficult to use. Last year (2019), there were major improvements, and it was pretty good. However, this year it has regressed to its former self:
1. You can no longer add other products (ex: Ortho Weed B Gone).
2. Once you add an item to the schedule, you can no longer change its due date. You have to re-write a new one & delete the old.
3. Some Scotts products are not even available to add (ex: Green Max).
4. If you manually add an item, there is no completed date to show it’s done.
5. My previous years are now gone, you used to be able to review the former schedules for each year.
Scott’s, why did you do this?

App needs major improvement
Always been happy the way the old app was. Now with this new one you have to redo your lawn info. And if you want to change something in the app to your lawn you have to redo the whole lawn settings not just what you want to edit. And if you have 2 different type lawns like I do now you have to have a second email address to create a profile on your second lawn.
And with this one you cannot even name your lawn “IE” Front yard and back yard like I had before.
At lease from the update today it looks like they fixed the locations so when your done using the app and close out the app it stops running.
Scott’s please get the issues fixed before its time to start the season.

Started great, now glitchy
The most recent update has been extremely glitchy...
I started using the app about 3 weeks ago- the products were easy to add and rainfall/ water was easy to track.
Now the rainfall totals never show up, unless I first “Add Water” then the rainfall total updates (at first the app shows no rainfall in my zip code even if it’s been raining for days).
It’s also gotten funky when adding products, telling me products are discontinued even when I’m standing at the store staring at a shelf full of said product...
If I were to make a suggestion, maybe adding a search option when adding a product to My Plan, or even a barcode scanner would be very helpful when adding a product to the calendar.

Support is Nonexistent
After my first year’s subscription to their products, I got an email saying it was going to auto-renew. I thought “alright, that’s fine. Let it renew.” After the auto-renew date, I got an email saying my subscription was cancelled. Each email listed a different email address to reach out to for questions. Concerned about my subscription status and whether or not I was going to be billed, I emailed both. One address was no longer valid and the other sent an auto-reply saying it was unmonitored and said to use the contact form on their website.
It’s been two weeks since I used their contact form. No response. I have no idea if they’re going to charge me and they make it impossible to get a hold of anyone to ask.

Keep me signed in
I really want to love this app! I really do. I feel like it’s onto something huge here. But why do I need to login every time? Then my account gets locked out?! For what?! It’s not like y’all holding onto any highly confidential information like my bank, credit institutions. Why!? On top of that y’all require the password to have an upper case a lowercase a number a symbol at least 8 digits and sample hair follicle and fingerprint of my toes. I get security, but for my lawn? Come on.
Update: 3/11 got a developer response. Not helpful. Apparently everyone is unhappy about this app in 2020. I guess they removed historical info and regardless of what you put into the survey it only has you buying fertilizer 4-5 times over the year.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Garbage app, from garbage people
For months now this app has not worked as advertised. It won’t notify you when it’s time to do something to your lawn, and then it won’t keep your last option as “applied.” Not only that, but now it continually sends me notifications that I need to update my app and create an account, which I’ve already done months ago. Oh, and awesome special deals. They always manage to notify me of special deals. I’ve gone back-and-forth with support over this for the past couple of months and they’re basically ignoring me. When they do pay attention, they point fingers at me. I continue to send them pictures of exactly how up-to-date my app is, and that I have an account, but they don’t care. They don’t listen. They don’t read the emails and they don’t respond accordingly. It’s lazy and it’s cowardly.

Less Useful Now
I really liked this app last year when I first started using it. The 2 key features were the 7-day rainfall totals based on my location and the ability to create and manage plans for multiple lawns - front yard and side yard, for example.
When I opened the app this year to begin using it, I found that neither of my 2 lawns had carried over, and when I attempted to add them again, I could only add one. After reaching out to customer support, I was informed that I’d need a separate user account for each lawn.
Maybe I’m an edge case (although I’d imagine there are many users that want to track front/back/side yards), but it’s not very intuitive to now have to create separate user accounts to do exactly the same thing I did previously. With that feature removed, the app is not very useful, in my opinion.

More cons than pros with this app
Please be careful using the product that this app is recommending, I have been using the product that this app has been recommending for two years now and both times it’s pretty much killing my grass. I do not know my exact grass type as I bought the house the the grass existing, therefore that is the info I entered in the app as there is an option for if you do not know your exact grass type. Then after entering those info the app gives you your yearly planner and recommended products by also using your location. Like I said I have been using there products for two years now and it has literally been killing my grass I started off this summer with near perfect green grass and after applying the scotts products now my grass is almost dead it is so discouraging and heart broken. Sorry Scott’s but that’s just the truth.

Used to be great, now useless
I’ve used this app for years to take care of my lawn progress throughout the year. I made the most out of the water tracking function which worked great until recently. First, a recent update removed the ability to separate out your lawn into different sections. I used to have two different lawns set up since my front and back have different needs. And they’re on different watering schedules. Now, it’s just one yard available. Next the rain tacking and water function stopped working about a month back. It’s no longer accurate with local rainfall totals. And if you manually add watering, it doesn’t constantly save what you entered. Too bad, this used to be an excellent app, but now it’s useless except for a sales tool for Scott’s. Which I suppose is the real purpose anyways. Now that the app doesn’t work, I’ve switched to another brand.

Worked well last year. Totally useless this year
App will measure your lawn via gps readings, which will tell you how much fertilizer you will need. Also will ask lawn questions to help tailor their products to your lawn. Must have had a change in the app. Now it forces you to re-answer the questions, remeasure the lawn size and then tells you that you have an existing account and then freezes up. So, you have to go to the website for information and tips.
I wrote an email to Scott’s explaining the problem, which is quite similar to other app issues you can read in the reviews. Scott’s never got back to me for a resolution. Lack of response and a app hanging up gets the 1 star rating. Going to price the auto reorder pricing vs driving to my local garden center to price their competitors to see if I will continue with their program now that I know the amounts I need. The app made it worthwhile, but now it’s not.

Worthless
Used app for about 3 yrs and loved it until the Jan/Feb update that ruined it. My review then described in detail my concerns: all past history had been lost; I had to establish a “new” lawn; and there was no longer an option to have different profiles for my very different from and back yards. Subsequent developer responses were worthless and never addressed my concerns but only promoted corporate “happy talk”. I note in the description of the current April ) update that all historical data has been restored. I just logged in and found that to be yet another developer lie and more Corp happy talk. My previous (historical) lawn data does not exist and I’m still limited to one lawn per address meaning I can’t get different product recommendations and treatment plans for the different grass types and growing conditions in my front and back yards. Thus the once wonderful app continues to be worthless.
