Issued a request for window replacement from a website that puts you in contact with companies providing free quotes. Received numerous calls and scheduled several appointments. First appointment from Nat'l Bath sales rep "A.B." made an impressive preso on the company's history, service, ethics, reliable manufacturing & delivery contacts (in Ohio), which drew him to get hired by the company. The hardware demo was also impressive. This quote for 11 windows (removal, replacement, disposal, cleanup, followups) was about 4 times the average quote based on Forbes, Homewyse and other analysis sites. So we thanked him with a promise to contact with a decision. Few were still largely above average cost, except one. So we elected to go with the considerably lower quote between 2 and 3 times the national average analysis. A.B. from Nat'l Bath called for a decision: We were going with the lower quote (of course). Then A.B. offered to provide another, lower with discounts and other adjustments to window design. This quote was a little lower, so we voided the previous quote and went with Nat'l with an estimate that customer windows will be ready in about 6 to 8 weeks. Progress of window builds was going well and in-progress per the contact we were passed to after A.B. After 8 weeks we followed up our contact was not heard from: We were then offered a full down payment return with little explanation. Custom windows are not easily installed elsewhere so it is very strange and suspect to cancel this order. Possible reasons: Hasty contract rewrite with no good return, Windows were never built, Custom windows could probably be sold to another buyer at a higher margin contrary to 'we do not do generic window installs'. You decide, but the do not seem to do windows... well or at all.
Recommendation: Avoid National Bath (FL) at all costs. Do a lot of research.
