Netflix Netflix's Limited Movie Selection Frustrates Adult Viewers

Netflix was once the epitome of cutting-edge technology, but now it seems to be one step above useless. I often suggest canceling my subscription, but my teenage kids always beg me to keep it because of one or two shows they occasionally watch. Personally, I can't remember the last time I searched for a movie on Netflix that they actually had. I'm not talking about obscure movies with a limited audience, but major blockbusters and academy award winners. It's frustrating that Netflix doesn't have movies like Marty, The A Team, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Star Trek, The Heiress, The French Connection, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter. Out of 93 Best Movie Oscar winners awarded since 1929, Netflix only carries three (Argo, My Fair Lady, and Forest Gump), and I already own all of those on DVD. Netflix has virtually no movies that I'm interested in watching. It's obvious that they're more interested in pushing their own content, but that content is mostly targeted toward youngsters, so it has little appeal to an adult audience. When I want to view a movie or a TV show, my standard procedure is to check Netflix, Amazon, and HULU. They all seem to have the same inventory, so 99% of the time I end up watching my movie on some gray-web site for free. It's frustrating that I spend $100+ per month for numerous "legitimate" streaming sites, and yet the vast majority of movies and shows I actually watch are on some Russian site where I must close down 20 porn pop-ups before I can actually see the movie.

Netflix Netflix App on Roku: Profiles Disappear and Customer Service Blames Device

I just started using Netflix again after not using it for a long time. I got a free trial for 30 days and I added the Netflix app to my Roku device. At first, everything was fine and I was able to watch shows without any problems. However, after a week, I started having issues. While I was watching a show, an orange icon appeared and then my profile and my son's profile disappeared. It switched to my daughter's (Kids) account and I couldn't switch back to our profiles. Even if I exited the app and re-entered it, it would take me directly to my daughter's account. The only way to switch back was to restart the Roku device, but the profiles would disappear again after a few moments.

I contacted Netflix via chat and told them that their app was the only one that was giving me trouble. I explained that the app opened and I could watch kids shows all day, but the two adult profiles disappeared completely. I also told them that I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but the problem persisted. However, the customer service representative immediately tried to blame my Roku device, even though I told them that the problem was internal to their app. I was worried that they would tell me to buy a new Roku, but I didn't let them off the hook that easily. They said they had to do "research" and then came back to tell me that there was a server issue that Netflix engineers were trying to fix. It's been a week now, and the same problem keeps happening over and over. I can use any other app on the entire Roku app store without issue, but Netflix is the only one that I can't use without a problem.

I'm not sure if my family is going to keep using Netflix after the free trial ends. I really like the selection of shows on Netflix, but if we can't watch them, what's the point? I hope Netflix can fix this problem soon, or else we'll have to find another streaming service to use.

Netflix Netflix: From Pirate's Paradise to Pain in the Butt

I used to be a pirate, but then Netflix came along and changed the game. It was so easy and affordable to use, I stopped pirating overnight. However, things have changed and Netflix has become a real pain in the butt.

Firstly, they monitor your screen and will black out the feed if they think you're recording it. This is a real problem for people like me who use a M1 MacBook and need to use an app called Displaylink to extend our screens. Netflix falsely detects this as a screen recorder and there's no way to dispute it. So, I'm stuck watching my favorite shows on a tiny 13" screen.

Secondly, my sister and I used to share an account. We paid for the premium account, which allowed for 4k feeds and up to 4 people using it at the same time. But, Netflix got greedy and decided that wasn't enough money for them. Now, they care if the 4 people don't live at the same address and force you to pay for an extra account. My sister fell for it and purchased an add-on for me to use her account, so now we're paying nearly twice as much. And to make matters worse, the service isn't even the same as it was before. We used to be able to watch on different screens at the same time, but now Netflix has decided that multiple people cannot use the same account even if they live together. So, I'm paying for a service I can't even use.

Thanks, Netflix. As soon as this month is up, I'm canceling this trash service and going back to downloading my shows. Maybe I'll come back if they bring back their old premium plans and make it less of a pain to use.

Netflix Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Dear Netflix,

I am a very concerned citizen, it is my professional opinion that the show 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' is the most endearing and exquisite show out there. Many children, and adults, greatly appreciate and enjoy this cinematic masterpiece. It has come to my attention that your app 'Netflix' is depriving children, and adults, of their constitutional right to experience this joy. Your streaming service only possesses two seasons of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' despite the show itself having four officially released seasons. The show 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' has exceptionally great reviews on your streaming service and is growing in popularity everyday. Children, and adults, are captivated by 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' just by witnessing the very first episode of the very first season, because of this captivation the viewer of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' would 'binge watch' the show quickly, and therefore be left with absolutely nothing left to watch because of the mere two seasons available on your streaming service. I urgently suggest, respectively, that more seasons are added to your streaming service to please the public.

Desired outcome: Add more seasons of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'

Netflix Customer service

Called Customer Service bc my Dad got a $30 Netflix gift card for Christmas. He went to redeem it, and it says that it was used... even though the pin was never scratched! First, the Customer Service said the gift card was redeemed, then she said that it was deleted, then she said that it was activated in 2017 and used and the account that used it was deleted, AND THEN SOLD TO A STORE where eventually it was given to my dad this past Christmas. I've been demanding to talk to a supervisor and apparently can't get one bc of the high volume of calls. My dad is 76 and someone needs to fix this and make good on this gift card, especially when this company is already aware of how their customers are being scammed like this. Update: Finally received a supervisor named Marko and he said that he can't do anything about this bc then he would have to help 1 million people that call about the same issue. I said you have 1 million people calling about this? And he said no, you're the only one. But apparently, according to Marko, there is no solution to this problem.

Desired outcome: $30 credit to Netflix account or refund to the card used to pay for the Netflix subscription, since their gift cards are unreliable and we may now cancel our account based on their customer service.

You're missing quite a few marks with your description of the issue. It's likely that your dad, member since 2017 redeemed the gift card to a new account with a different email instead of his own account. Take a deep breath, call them again with an accepting attitude and don't demand a supervisor from the get go. They'll sort you out :)

Netflix Julie and The Phantoms: Season 2

Julie and The Phantoms was a huge hit. I know myself I watched it over and over as well as many that I know. We all really just want a season 2 and never understood why we didn't get it! I wanted to start collecting signatures all over the world for those who want to see this season be renewed. How many signatures would we need for Netflix to renew this season for us?

Desired outcome: Renew 2nd Season of Julie and The Phantoms

Netflix Subtitled Japanese Programs

Midnight Diner was a popular Japanese NETFLIX series, targeted for adults, that had a strong following. The subtitles were indispensable. The Solitary Gourmet is also a good series but it has not subtitles. Can you fix this. Japanese series centered around eating are very popular for the Japanese and those of us who live here temporarily.

Desired outcome: Please include more subtitles for your English speaking audience. The more people outside of Japan watch these type of shows the more they will better understand other cultures. Not just Japanese culture.

Netflix Netflix charged me twice on March 24, 2023.

I have two charges on my March bank statement. Both occurred on 3-24-23. The first amount shows as Netflix 19.99 and the second shows as NETFLIX COM GATOS CAUS for $29.00. They don't even have a service plan for $29.00.

Customer service could not help. I asked that a supervisor call me. I asked several times. They have no call-back option. I asked for the name and contact information for the supervisor. It was not provided. I offered to submit a pdf or picture of my bank statement. I was told to contact my bank. What a huge inconvenience to cancel my card and have to redo everything. Very frustrating after years of being a member.

Desired outcome: Refund my $29.00.

Netflix Netflix Transfer of Profile from one account to new account

Not happy with the Netflix time period for transferring profile information from one account to a new one. Netflix should allow more time when transferring profile information.

I opened a new account on the 01st March 2023 and on the 02nd March 2023 could not transfer from my daughters account to my new account.

This is ridiculous.

If you would like to call me for further information 07 [protected] or [protected]

Right now the system allows you to transfer your profile to a new account at the time of creating the account, not from one account to another. You can find this info on their help center. What you could do is cancel this new account you created, and then transfer your profile & create a new account, their customer service can sort it out that you'll be able to use the same email address if you need.

Netflix Look/outfit of muslim women and representation of religion in shows

I have been using Netflix for two years now, and it has come to my attention how they represent Muslim characters. Women are not dressed according to Islamic religion and they usually have Arabic names. You do not need to be Arab in order to be Muslim. Every person on this Earth, despite nationality and race, can be Muslim with their own choice. Netflix in films and etc. represents Islam in a very bad light, that is not respectful to me as a Muslim women. Also, why is every Muslim girl named something like Malha, girls named like Jessica or Bradley can also be Muslim.

For further explanation look show 13 reasons why S1:E7 5min till the end.

Desired outcome: I want Netflix to read and study Islamic religion and show it in the real light as it should be.

If your Netflix gets stuck loading (loads a show to 25% or you just get the spinning load screen), the last step of troubleshooting is to contact your internet service provider. Ask them to check your connections, Netflix can't help you with this as the connection between your device and their server is serviced by your internet provider.

If the Netflix application doesn't open at all, or crashes, and you've already followed Netflix's instructions, contact your device manufacturer to check for OS updates or do a factory reset if needed.

Netflix Ginny & Georgia

The content of this program is far and above the age of 14. Given the amount of extreme sexual content, violence, use of and parental support of/for underage use of alcohol and illegal drugs, this show is very clearly not rated appropriately. Additionally, the inclusion of teenage self harm is not only dangerous given our culture and climate as we emerge from the pandemic, but it is abhorrently irresponsible.

Desired outcome: Removal of program from Netflix, at bare minimum, rating changed to be more reflective of the dangers of young people watching it.

Netflix Remove woke / gay content

This content is designed to brainwash you viewers. I don't care what people do within the privacy of their home however I have had enough of this Woke BS ie. a [censored] under every rock, pedophile in every crack, lesbian in every corner. Vanhelsing = lesbian story for the most part. If my kids were still young I would never let them watch this garbage! I Believe that Netflix should be boycotted by all. Netflix Ginny & Georgia

It's clear that the content for this show is not suitable for young viewers, as evidenced by the very first episode. The show has inappropriate sexual situations including masturbation and the use of sex toys. The mother coaches the daughter in how to give a bill! What the hell?

There are also scenes of self-harm and other violence which makes it even more unsuitable for young audience. It is unacceptable that such a show is being marketed to teens and given a TV-14 rating.

Rectify this issue, apparently there are plenty of adults (don’t understand this either) that enjoy watching them but you must take measures to ensure that your shows are properly rated for their intended audience.

This one you got markedly wrong. Chasing a dollar at our children’s expense.

Desired outcome: Change rating immediately to MA audience.

Netflix Turkish movie on Netflix

It has come to my attention that in the Turkish movie KOPRUDEKILER displays a dart board with the icon of the Virgin Mary as the target.

This is highly offensive to all people of the Christian faith.

I will be taking this issue to the Archdiocese so that they can take legal measures and make sure that the film is immediately removed from the Netflix platform.

Ok so I came back to watch some of my shows. You want to put commercials fine, but when I’m Paying for a service for 1TV and there’s more commercials then regular cable it’s ridicules. I pay more for this service than any other service I watch, at least their commercials time isn’t excessive like NETFLIX. Do better stop being a money grubbing business.

Netflix Rogue agent film

Dear Sir,
Last night I watched ‘Rogue Agent’ which was a good production that I mostly enjoyed. However, one comment made by Robert Hendy-Freegard’s character I found to be deeply inappropriate.
Hendy-Freegard met the lawyer in 2000 (?) and gave her a lift to work as she had a hangover. He invited her to throw-up, out of the car, as the roof would be down. He added that it would be even better if she could throw up over a cyclist.

Did Henry-Freegard really say that? I personally doubt that he did. It appears to be an attempt at humor but unfortunately the remark will fuel the anti-cyclist hatred amongst those drivers within our communities who are too arrogant or ignorant to safely share the road with all users.
You may have assumed from my angst that I am a cyclist, and you would be correct. I have been regularly cycling in and around London since the early 80s and still do. I also drive a car and a motorcycle.

The divide between cyclists and motorists has only recently become a serious issue, with both sides at fault for bad behavior. But it is only the cyclist who is at risk of serious injury from poor driving and deliberate assaults. Journalism has certainly played its part in inflaming this situation, which is really the result of poor infrastructure and overuse.
I would urge whoever is responsible for the inclusion of this unnecessary line to be more responsible in the future.
