Walt Disney Company can’t even get in contact with you
I opened a dispute with Netspend against Walt Disney Company in July 2021. I've since been in contact with Walt Disney Company and we are resolving this matter privately. However after speaking to WDC they have also had difficulties speaking to someone from Netspend.
Unfortunately Netspend has chosen to outsource all of their customer service representatives and the language barrier is very obvious and causes a lot of unnecessary issues. These language barriers cause delays as well as numerous calls to the same number over and over again because problems are never resolved. Speaking to "supervisors" also doesn't help and they will read from the same script. If we were speaking about $25 or so I wouldn't be as annoyed but when close to $1000 is on the line it is an irritant.
The dispute department is non-existent. I've sent them numerous emails and I've never ever received an email back about the status of my dispute. WDC has also reached out to this company and never received a response. Walt Disney is a billion dollar corporation and even they are receiving the runaround. The dispute process was an unprofessional headache and instead on crediting me back the money owed, Netspend deducted the money. A new card was issued to me but I've yet to receive it and it says it will take another week or so to receive (is it coming from overseas?).
I've contacted Walt Disney Company and they are simply asking for proof of the dispute being cancelled on my part. I contacted Netspend yesterday and I was told it was cancelled and to cal back today for an email confirmation to be sent. Of course that was too good to be true because now I'm on my 5th call of the day with these people and receiving a new runaround. I've emailed all of the Netspend contact emails including this "social" email that keeps popping up in responses. I haven't heard a word.
So in the last 30 days I've had money deducted that wasn't supposed to be deducted 3 times, a card that is supposed to be arriving with all of my money on it but it will take as long as an overseas eBay delivery to get here, there is no customer service, no supervisors, no dispute department, no credits for stolen money, no communication. I want to receive communication from someone in the states who can explain to me what is happening with my money, new card, dispute and why a billion dollar company like Walt Disney can't even get in contact with Netspend.

Denying my funds, misleading information, pain and suffering, slander and character deprivation
They let my money get stolen and spent (drained) rapidly, without blocking the account or freezing it, nearly two hours after I had just put 6000 of 9900 on the card, the rest I got in cash. My backpack was stolen with my phone, my walled including id, debit cards, social security card, and worst of all on my phone they were able to access my google, hack my google passwords and drain everything. That evening I was able to call netspend and cancel my card not realizing my online account would still be accessible to drain money/make transactions. Once I was able to explain to netspend that my online account was compromised they had already sent a new card to to an address that was not mine. I included police reports, proof of my canceled card, proof of my identity and proof of my address multiple times with multiple documents, since I didn't have my phone I could not get on my online account because of my two step verification, so I had absolutely no access to know what was going on with my funds netspend has denied me all of my funds, after the irs identity fraud reports showing the funds were sent to someone else's bank multiple times, after the identitytheft.gov reports showing this was identity theft, and was most likely the same person who stole my stuff and stole my identity once before. Fbi internet crime division reports were filed, local law enforcement reports were filed, multiple of them, I did every thing in my power to show them that I did not make the charges. Instead they just completely shut down my compromised account, and denied all of my claims, denying me of my hard earned money. Now my 3 yr old my 4 yr old my fiance who is pregnant and myself were unable to pay rent, we are now living in a tent, homeless, and still being denied the money I deserve. Customer service has belittled me, mislead and misinformed me multiple times, causing my mental state to dwindle because of the stress and pain and suffering. They have laughed at me mocked me, hung up on me multiple times because I simply ask a question they don't like about my money or claim... Over 27 hours i've spent trying to get my money so my children can eat and we can find a new home.. Even the supervisor/manager I spoke with from netspend was extremely rude and bashful, making me feel like I could not ask questions about my claims, demanding I listen to them and not accepting to r1elay the proof of documents to the dispute team or to their higher ups. Netslend is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They have made my life an absolute hell. I am so broken and dismantled from this experience, I just want my money back, my hard earned money. I know my family and inare deserved compensation for this god awful company's horrible staff, but mentally I don't known if I can handle the stress, I just want my money back.

I purchased one of your credit cards at a 711 near my residence for the amount of $32. 95 cents. When I tried to activate it, I was referred to one of your representatives. He asked me for my social security number. I REFUSE TO GIVE MY SOCIAL SECURITY TO ANY 3rd party. He stated, that was the only way or I could ask for a refund. I gave him my address and he told be I would receive a check for the amount. I've never received the money from your company and I can't get thru to the [protected] number. I get a message that my number on the card is invalid. This is not fair to me. I want my refund back. That's all I'm asking for! I've written to the President of your company and I received an email from ARMI, one of your representatives. He stated I should call the customer service number. When asked to input my number, I get a message stating that my number is invalid. I have no other choice, but to file a complaint with you and if I have to with the Better Business Bureau. I would appreciate a refund check for the amount in question. $32.95.

Taking my money
This is a continuation of the complaint I filed on 8/4. I finally got a reply to the complaint I filed with NetSpend. Which said absolutely nothing. They still took my 150 for the negative balance on a card I reported lost/stolen over a year ago. I did my part by reporting my card lost so I haven't even thought about that card in over a year. Now I find out there is a negative balance on that lost card. I still cannot get an answer on why I was not alerted to the block being placed on my card when they had my phone number and my email. They gave me no choice but to pay the 150 because they were holding the rest of my money hostage. They know the legal loopholes on how they can legally steal peoples money knowing the average person has no recourse.

Yes out of the blue just block you from you own money this is fraud and unlawful we are the victims here Netspend your a fault you need to be sued and lose the business of prepaid debit cards.
I think this company is rotten! I will tell my friends in the music and Film industry about these crooks! These are the kind of companies that cheat and steal our MONEY! When I purchased the card. I called the number to activate my card. A sales representative asked me for my security number. I refused to give him my information, he stated I couldn't use my card. I asked for a refund and he took my information and never sent me $32.95 back. It's not the money, it's the PRINCIPAL!
Prepaid cards
I have several prepaid cards with Netspend and I usually get my taxes refund through another card, Well apparently this time all the account info was changed and all my money goes to another account and card that I dont have access too also is not in my name, so when everyone got the third stimulous check and got it direct deposited, well someone I know was able to add me to his account and recieve my money 2 days early even without my knowledge and when I thought I was getting a new card because nothing was explained to me of anything further, I didnt think anything until I looked into where my money went. Its going to a card that I dont reconize or is in my name, so I have to report through the IRS, Well I had a small amount come to me again and well I never recieved it and I seen it has been going into the other persons account And I have no access to this account or is that card its being deposited to in my name. So once again Im out more money, I have called netspend to have me removed off the account I was added onto and told them, I dont want any account other than the one I have already. my money is in my name not anyone elses name and nobody else should beable to recieve my money especially that it being sent to someone elses name but just because I was added to an account made it so someone else can access and recieve my money. Well they couldnt dispute the transactions because I was not the primary on the account, but the person that is the primary can be the only one to dispute the transactions. so here I am out $3, 000 dollars and I havent gotten anything resolved because netspend has to keep this other person in contact with about my money and its been over 10 days and they have to speak to the account my money has been going to. that is not making sense that I have nothing to do with the persona account or the person with that account and they didnt need all this to put my money in my name into someone elses account. I just want my money and I feel they owe me a refund for this mess and my information isnt secure or safe and I never gave anyone permission to send my momey into any other account and especially one that isnt in my name but I cant get my money back and I have to go through bs in order to keep waiting for money that is mine and I get screwed.Netspend has been the worst in handling this sitution and Im the one that had my identity and money stolen but yet treat me as if im just someone trying to steal someones identity and money.

I bought a card on 8/3 to deposit my check on to pay bills I used the card that night I used the card at least 3 times on 8/4 less than an hour after I used it the last time I went to get groceries and could not use my card even though it was showing I had a balance of over 700 I called to find out what was going on and was told that there was a block on my card due to an old account that had a negative balance of 150 which is on a card that was reported lost 3/20. I said fine go ahead and pay it because I need access to my money then I get told it will be a whole day before the block will be removed. I can't feed my family today and no one seems to care. It's like you are holding my money hostage but that's fine as soon as I have access to my money it will be withdrawn and you just lost a customer who has been with you for many years in fact you are losing 2 customers because my husband will be closing his account as well. I hope that someone else doesn't have to go through what I have gone through today

I do not think Netspend care we are Americans for some strange reason this company has absolutely, banned and blocked users from accessing their accounts. If you did not call and report your card stolen or lost why block it, Netspend has came out of the blue and doing war with us, block money.

There was over a $1, 000 in fraudulent charges made against my account I when I called that spend as soon as I became aware of the situation I did everything they told me to do I even sent all the letters in by email to the dispute department and they said it would take 10 days to notify me of their decision I got a letter out of the mailbox the very next day and it had turned me down saying that those charges were mine so they had done them investigation and those charges were similar charges I've made before which was all a lie I've never made a charge to a apple.com or if I ever made them to Microsoft nor have I ever been to Germany to make charges there as well now they won't give me my money back they got the wrong one this time because I will fight to the very end NetSpend is nothing but a b******* company that tries to corporate bully you when I asked the NetSpend representative aren't y'all FDIC insured her response was oh no ma'am we are NetSpend which tells me about the intelligence level of their employees

Netspend service to it's consumers
July 27th, 2021 A global services provider asked if I had mobile check deposit for employment materials if there were to send me a check. I looked at the app, yes it is possible, but did I ensure it was active? No, and that is okay that is what I pay for a service for. Three days later, "feeling" even though I have communicated and kept Wolters-Kluwer informed, that NetSpend thinks they can dismiss me and promise me goods or services. I am not the only one involved.

Wow this is Horrible they did the same exact thing to me today. I tried to call I could not get any answers from anyone. One lady said that I could speak with the fraud department and they will give me more answers she transferred me but because they left me on hold for so long I was unable to wait and had to hang up. I called back and spoke to a supervisor he then stated that I was not able to be transferred back to the fraud department and he hung up in my face. I think this is absolutely horrible that they do not call you with fraudulent activity they just close your account and assume that a check would be sufficient enough in 7 to 10 business days not keeping an account that people have bills to pay and that is very unfair. I think as a company they should be shut down for their practices when dealing with the public. I feel as though whoever their CEO is they need to investigation of how they are practicing Communicating with their customers. I don't believe that they are closing accounts due to fraudulent activity because I have the app on my phone and not once did anyone try to use the card that I currently have in my possession. What is even worse they say they cannot provide you any information which is very unfair because it leads you to believe that may be other cards that are compromised so you don't know if you should close other accounts or exactly if Netspend was compromised it ust leaves it up in the air and then they hang up. Please contact BBB and FTC

Called back to get the name of the supervisor that hung up in my face she told me she did not know but they would coach him because this is not how they treat customers. I asked her how can they coach him if they don't know who he is? She stuttered then put me on hold and never came back. After holding for 20 minutes I hear the automated system. Supervisor name was Faith.
Got back through and of course now it is close to closing time. Spoke with J. A.. She is transferring me to supervisor Kari. Per Kari risk management has to cal me back.
No email, phone number, address for corporate. This can not be considered legal.

Locked Account
My last 2 stimulus payments were deposited to my card and they had to send me a replacement card. One was deposited in Dec 2020 and the other in March 2021. On 7/16/21 Netspend locked my account after I tried attempting to transfer funds and access my online account. Fraud department very rude and unwilling to listen or to explain. I Was told They could close my account and good luck retrieving my funds. I recieved my lost replacement card on 7/22/21 and tried to activate but was told I need to send in A copy of my Social Security card. I then have called the social security office to learn i will have to wait for the application to be mailed to me that could take up to 4 weeks. then allow 4 more weeks to receive my replacement card. i will have to send in my only Identification card no copy. I just want what is legally mine. I am going to talk with my attorney on this and the BBB And everyone i can get to listen on this matter. This issue has put my stress over the limit. Has been the most nerve racking ordeal. $1700 might not be a lot to some but its my money and i want it now. I provided all the info that was told to me to me on the phone with my account still being locked on 7/19/21. Sent paperwork to [protected]@netspend.com.

About a month ago I called because there was a transaction on my account that I did not recognize, nor authorize. I shut down my debit card. They told me it would take up to 10 business days to receive my new card. Since I still needed to pay bills, and feed my family from my available balance I was forced to use the Western Union link netspend had in their mobile app. Immediately I was denied the ability to move my funds, and upon calling into their customer service line I was informed that my account was locked, and I would not have access to my funds until a certain amount of documents were sent to them. Only after did I send these documents I was informed that they weren't enough to get access to my money that I have paid them a monthly fee to hold onto. All I want is my funds returned to me, and the account I've paid you for since 2020 cancelled. I do not understand why you feel the need to steal from myself and my family. Every time I have attempted to reason with you about this I am transferred to the "Fraud Department", and when I've asked for a Supervisor I am informed by the representative on the phone that they are the Supervisor. All I can say to that is that your company has hired a lot of Supervisors for one department, who don't seem to have the ability to do a simple thing, which would be to send mine and my families hard errand money back to us.

Yes my mom needed her heart medicine I have always transferred money to her account with the card but now it is FRAUD my mom went to the hospital due to not having her heart medicine this company blocked my account so fast it was unbelievable! They sent me to the fraud department blocked my card no food gas or paying bills no reason. I was told we are not liable for you sir, we do not have to tell you anything. Canceled the card I am not sure if I will get any of my money back again. Law suit needed!
Activation of prepaid cards
I purchased two cards, tried to activate them, received an error message and proceeded to call the number given.
After 3 attempts, and the language barrier with the customer support people (I speak American English, they do not), the cards are still not activated.
I am asking for American help to solve this issue. Please advise on how to solve this with an American speaking customer support person. I also am tired of giving my personal information over the phone, especially my social security number. I am unsure why this is needed to activate a card that already has money on it!

Excellent interest rate but access goes down occasionally -- waste of your time. You may have used the device hundreds of time but they raise a bogus security issue when you are trying to make a simple transaction. It's to generate a fee. Bad news.

Account abruptly closed
On June30th, I filed a dispute after my phone, debit card, etc were stolen. My Venmo account was used to drain my Netspend bank account. Today, July 15, is the day I was supposed to receive an update on my dispute. Not only did I not receive an update, but my account was closed due to suspicious activity. Ya think? Dummies! But what kissed me off most was when I called and the rep said no error was found with my dispute. Lol. Funny, Venmo stated otherwise and thankfully is working with me on this matter! Netspend is a scam! Just so happened to close my account on the day provisional credit was to be given. Netspend can go F itself!

Money was stolen from me to pay a utility bill that I didn't authorize. I was issued out a new debit card and netspend refused to refund me. I've never experienced this with previous bankers and whilst me explaining that the representative hung up on me. He was very rude and apathetic. That's not how you treat customers as a customer service representative. I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor and the representative refused to connect me with one. I will be suing. Very unprofessional and I'm highly disappointed. I'm a disabled veteran.. I worked hard for my money and to have it stolen and treated as if it's minute is concerning!

Small business account
They have people answering the phones who barely speak and/or understand the English language. That is a legal requirement in order to be licensed as a Bank in the US. They lie and say they've sent confirmation emails, Closed Accounts, they mysteriously lose $10, 000+ ACH DEPOSIT transactions, they hang up in your face 4 out of 5 times when they can't resolve your issue.
THEY DO NOT HAVE BANKS YOU CAN READILY WALK INTO- METABANK IS FAKE!
THEY'RE IRRESPONSIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND PLAY AROUND WITH YOUR MONEY.

I agree 100% wilth you! Their customer service agents speak very poor inaudible english, they lie, they hang up on you, they laugh at the problem you are trying to get help with. Extremely unprofessional & fraudulent!
I help my 85 yr old vision impared mother with her bills/finances. I have Power of Attorney (which I sent to them 5 weeks ago, as they demanded the "original" copy), I requested it be returned by certified tracked mail just as I sent it to them. Netspend now says they have never received it, although I have a signature from USPS showing which employee signed for it...THEY LIE!
They froze my mothers acct. (her only source of income is the social security that is deposited on the Netspend card) leaving her destitute without food and her heart medication. It took them 4 weeks to issue a check for the remainder of her balance, which my mother can not cash, she has no bank accts. She made numerous phone calls to them requesting the balance of funds be made out to her POA, although Netspend failed to follow through. She endorsed for her POA to deposit and now Netspend has revoked payment to the bank saying "Not Authorized". A legal POA document has been in their possesion for 5 weeks and they have once again stolen my mothers social security benefits back again.
This fraudulent criminal outfit called NETSPEND deserves all the legal action that is coming their way!

Hello my name is apiffany Jones and I am a victim of identity theft and I am constantly disputing unauthorized transaction s on my net spend cards so I gave NetSpend a copy of my ftc identity theft report with NetSpend bank name on it and also a copy of my police report and they deactivated all of my accounts instead of refunding me my money I do the disputes to protect my accounts and if there is unauthorized transaction s on my account what can I do about it if my identity was stolen nothing so why am I being punished and can't open up another banking account through NetSpend I did nothing wrong

Netspend has a hold on my account over a petty matter|! Guess what, this is the last time. Soon is the opportunity presents itself I am out of their mundane practicing.! I could not accesss any of funds over the holiday weekend. Fortunately I had a small amount of cash tucked away. I will be closing my account as soon as possible.

I have debit card with Netspend which I depend on daily. Two days ago I discovered they had put block. I did not discover this until I tried to use the card at local merchant. I called customer service. A person who seem to be responding from out of country location. Their English was very poor and she was very rude. The only response was my card had bo be canceled. She allowed me to withdraw funds before she clamped down No matter what I explained the card was now usesly. I was routed to another reprsentative and was advised I would receive an new card in three days. I am senior citizen who lives on social security and all my funds are direct deposited to my Netspend card. I believe the incident could have been handled differently. If you have a Netspend card better have a backup card.
