I signed up for Nicholas Pools Inc to construct a pool for me
I signed up for Nicholas Pools Inc to construct a pool for me. They asked for a $3000 deposit, which they said I could get back if I changed my mind. While we were preparing to file permits, I decided to move to *** and bought a house there. So, I canceled the pool and requested a refund. However, they didn't respond for a few weeks. After calling their office multiple times, they informed me that they wouldn't take any action until I signed a cancellation form. I filled out the form and sent it back, but now I'm facing a lot of confusion. Nobody returns my calls, and nobody knows what's happening with my $3000 refund. Unfortunately, I've heard from many people in town, after the fact, that this is how they operate.
On or about 14 May, Nicholas Pools had a service call to open our pool
On or about 14 May, Nicholas Pools had a service call to open our pool. But on 14 May, nobody showed up. We called Nicholas and they said a computer problem caused the missed appointment. They rescheduled the opening for 19 May. But again, they missed the appointment without telling us. We called again and this time they said their staff wasn't available. They scheduled another appointment for the next day, but they warned us that it might not happen because their staff is unreliable. We arranged for another company to open the pool, and they did it the next day. We contacted Nicholas to cancel the opening and closing contract, and they agreed to credit our Visa account. But recently, Visa told us that Nicholas Pools refused to acknowledge the credit. We are taking further steps to fix this situation, and we are really disappointed with the customer service.
On September 28, I signed a contract with Nicholas Pools to buy a pool
On September 28, I signed a contract with Nicholas Pools to buy a pool. I gave them a $3000 deposit to start the process. Since the beginning, dealing with this business has been a stressful and unpleasant experience. My wife and I have been lied to and ignored multiple times. The staff is rude, lazy, and very unprofessional. They have breached the contract, making this process lengthy and difficult. The only completed step so far is the excavation of the pool, which was done on June 7. Nicholas Pools says we are waiting for the delivery of our pool kit to proceed. I have been given many different excuses, such as a shortage of pool kits, missing pieces in our kit, delivery problems, and staff shortages. Right now, they have taken over $19,000 of my money, and all I have to show for it is a hole in my yard that needs to be dug again.

Backyard swimming pool installation no show
Backyard swimming pool installation no show. We got plans from the engineer in February . My calls and messages to the pool company about submitting permits went unanswered for about a month. We signed a contract and gave a deposit in March . We had a verbal agreement to have the pool for the summer season. After we gave the deposit, it became really hard to contact the company for permits and scheduling. After many phone calls, the permit application was finally submitted. The permit application got rejected because it wasn't sealed and had missing information. I personally picked up sealed plans from the engineer and resubmitted it myself. I also personally paid for the permit and picked it up. Because of all the delays, we were finally told that the job would start in May, then June, then July, then August, now November... instead of March... Also, many verbal agreements that were made were broken and became another reason for delay. Due to the supposed upcoming pool construction, we were left without use of the backyard for the whole summer. If they had been honest about scheduling upfront, I wouldn't have chosen them. The company had more than enough time to complete the job in a timely manner, even with unpredictable weather delays.
In 2013, I bought a hot tub from Nicholas Pools
In 2013, I bought a hot tub from Nicholas Pools. In December , I paid Nicholas Pools $500.00 to close and open my hot tub in the spring due to a leak. However, when they opened it in the spring, they didn't fix the leak and I didn't receive a receipt or bill. Surprisingly, my credit card was charged three times, totaling $900.00. I'm not sure what these charges were for because I had already paid $500.00 in December, which should have covered the spring opening and leak repair.
After realizing the leak was still there, I called them to inform them, and they sent someone to inspect it. After a few weeks, Abe fixed a leaky manifold. Unfortunately, within three weeks, the hot tub completely emptied out. I called Carolyn again to let her know about the leak and asked her not to come and fix it because I no longer trusted them. She was very rude to me during our conversation. Instead, I had my son and a friend fix the issue for me.
Despite explicitly telling Carolyn not to come to my house, they returned without my permission while I was away. The next day, Carolyn called me and falsely claimed that Abe had fixed the issue. However, I have photos showing that the manifold and piping were completely disconnected after Abe supposedly fixed the leak the first time. She then informed me that my warranty was voided because we fixed the issue ourselves. I'm still unsure why I was charged an extra $900.00.
We signed up with Nicholas in July
We signed up with Nicholas in July . Our pool was finally finished almost 2 years later in May 2022, not 2021. They always missed appointments, promised to show up but never did, and didn't give us the appliances we agreed on, like the railings, filter cover, and pool cover. We still don't have the railings in the right color. They kept giving us different information, saying our appliances were in and then saying they weren't ordered or were given to other customers. Just like another person who complained to the ComplaintsBoard.com, their excuse was always covid covid covid. But after two and a half years, I don't think it was all because of covid when everyone else's pools were done. I don't understand why they still can't finish what they promised, like installing the pool cover, closing the pool, and putting in the right colored railings. Last season, they didn't even close our pool like they said they would. Now they're making excuses again, saying they're too busy. By the way, our friends signed their contract a week before us and their pool was opened last season, but ours was only opened this season, so I know it's not all because of covid. They've been terrible to work with and fought us on every issue we had with the contract. They said it would take 6 weeks, but as you can see, it's been over two years and the railings still aren't installed according to the contract.
I can't say it all in **** characters
I can't say it all in *** characters. We ordered our pool on 7/17 from Nicholas Pools 'cause they said they'd finish the installation before this summer. They showed up 4/16/22 to start work. Dug a hole in our backyard and hit ground water. They said for $15,000 more in cash, they could still finish the job (we agreed to pay). They put in 3 pumps and well points and then left for 3 months. Now we're paying over $800 a month in electric bills to keep the pumps running. Can't get in touch with the company, but when we do, they say they'll come out. They show up, do a bit of work, then leave for weeks. We're not getting the pool we ordered even though we paid the extra $15,000 'cause after we paid, they said they can't do the original job. Everything they say is 'cause of "COVID" and delays (which I think is true), but they keep promising and not delivering. I have lots of emails and texts to back up what I'm saying, but it's more than 5 MB to upload here. I'm shocked to see this company has a ComplaintsBoard.com accreditation and wanted to let you know. Heard they're selling the company now and worried the job won't get finished and we won't have the promised warranty. If you want more info, I can give you whatever you need. Never complained about a business before, but we just got a lawyer to help us deal with this mess.
