I did filed claim and emailed to claim reimbursement @amwater.com all forms plus receipts to them. Was told it would take 4 weeks. Called after 8 weeks spoke with Suptvisior Roberta L Deoach-Wright who was very sorry for this experience. She ask me to mail her all my info. She confirmed that she had received all my information. Because they had changed systems in which this update would benefits customers more speedy. Today I still receive information stating they have not received recipcts for washer or my plumbing issue. I will do another complain concerning my plumbing issue

unauthorized charges
Contacted Nicor Home Solutions to get charges removed from my Nicor bill and they did not remove the charges which is over $200. I have never used their services and never authorized them and they say we've been paying for it since 2006! All this money I could have saved to take care of my sick husband and never knew I was being billed. I thought it was part of Nicor gas bill until my daughter looked at my bill and said it's a service seperate from Nicor? I need them to remove all charges from my bill. Please help me.

Repair of central air conditioner
On August 21, 2021 I called Nicor to request that my central air conditioner be repaired at 1378 Woodview Ave., Calumet City, IL 60409. When the Nicor Repairman came out he advised me that the part that I needed to have repaired was not covered under my warranty. (Not sure of the name of the part) He advised us that we had to pay $263.00 in order to get the repair done. I was surprised because I have coverage of up to $1, 500.00 per visit. To add insult to injury after I paid the $263.00 the repairman put the part in and ran out of the door. He did not check to make sure that the repair had been completed. When my tenants attempted to turn on the central air it did not work. I called to complain. When the person who answered the phone could not help me, I requested that I be allowed to discuss this matter with the supervisor. I was told as I always am told that there is no supervisor available and that one would call me. I am still waiting on a call from the supervisor. They sent another repairman out and the repair was completed.
I need to find out two things: Why the part was not covered? Why I am never allowed to speak to supervisors about my concerns.

Sewer and water protection plan
I paid monthly for this insurance to cover my water and sewer main line. Yesterday I called when I finally get though the lady claims my insurance doesn't cover sending out a plumber to rod out my main line. They came out to rod my neighbors house, that's how I got thier number. When I called to buy the insurance I asked the lady 2 times if it covers the rodding she said yes, my wife even heard the conversation. Well they won't help me at all. I believe this is a scam company.

Coverage for sewer and water main
I signed up sold a bill of goods .they told me I was covered from my house it to the villages main paid for 2 yrs felling good .when I was notified I had a leak in my line I was responsible for, even though I had no knowledge of .I called they said they would send out co. Tofix. Waited then refused to do anything I had to hire a oc. Pay 18, 000 dollars out of pocket. They dug up street found leak in my water main where it by law I'm responsible for and insured for asphalt concrete and grass plus line.they reniged on coverage paid nothing.

Plumbing
I recently added (last year) the service for Outside Sewer Line Protection, Water line Protection Plan, Gas line Protection Plan and Preferred Plumbing. So i called Nicor Home Solutions 2 times to come and check the problem (bathroom clogged), they sent Center Guard Plumbing Protection and every time they said they can do it... okay? why? they wanted me to add and add more services every time because supposedly for what the job i dont have coverage and i will have to pay out of pocket! They gave me an estimate which was literally to just come and see and if they need to do something else was gong to be extra. Ok. well everything what they askesd me to add for coverage i ended up added and at the end i just added a liquid to unclogged the bathroom and problem resolved!
However, last sunday i noticed i puddled of water coming out of my crawl basement so i called them again, and again they sent Center Guard Plumbing a; they showed up to my house and they told me again that they cant do the job! (a pipe line in the crawl basement)They didnt say why, but only that i have to call another company.
So i have been calling Nicor Home solutions and they cant resolve anything for me, they stared that is the only one plumber they have in my area, and wont sent any other help. Basically they told me that some one is going to call me to help me to resolve but nothing else has been done.!
They are just going around and around with vague answers but wont resolve my problem . These people are scammers!

Unauthorized Charge For Warranty
Nicor has been charging $23.95 per month for Nicor Home Solutions for some type of warranty that I never ordered, authorized or used. I contacted Nicor Home Solutions who said they would send paperwork and cancel any future charges it has been three weeks nothing has been sent. Today I contacted Nicor for assistance they said it's a third party and can't help even though they are the ones billing me.

Alleged verbal agreement of service plan
Today, I just noticed an odd charge on my Nicor bill for about $13. I've never signed up for any type of service plan, in fact any time I see a flyer with their plan information I throw it away. I honestly assumed it was a new charge since I don't think I've ever seen it listed where it was. So I called the number to cancel/investigate. Come to find out I allegedly had a verbal agreement back in 2007 for a service plan! I have never, not once, talked to a single person at Nicor over the phone, and definitely not for any utility company regarding a service plan. According to my estimates I have spent over $2, 000 for a product/service that I never signed up for. Is there a class action lawsuit for this? How can they get away with scamming people like this?!

Is this the same company as Pivotal Home Solutions. I just found out that they have been charging me for a service I never signed up for. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. This is a scammy company.
Service contract agreement - pivotal home solutions
I called for repair on my KENMORE washing machine and Kitchen Aid dishwasher. I called Sears Home Solutions/Pivotal Home Solutions. They sent out a repairman from A&G Repair Svc on 5/07/2020.
After a week I called Nicor Solutions, they switched me over to Pivotal Home Solutions. The Customer Service Representative said that Kenmore no longer had my parts and the parts had to come from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Kenmore or Kitchen Aid products.
The OEM for these machines is the Whirlpool Corporation. Kenmore and Kitchen Aid were not the OEM for these parts. I told her "Kenmore never manufactured anything."
I told her I wanted to speak to a manager. She said no one was available. I told her to have a manager call me. Needless to say no one called me.
A week later, I called again. I was told the OEM part was not available and they had to be OEM's. This time I had given her the name of whirlpool and said the same part came under another part#.
Whirlpool makes several of these same appliances under different brand names. They use the same parts, but under different part numbers.
I asked for the president, this time. I again was told someone would get back to me. Can you believe it…no one called.
A week or so later, I received a call from a Customer Service Rep doing a customer survey on the service I had received. Did he get an ear full. He said someone would call me back. It was Margaret who called me back [protected] or [protected]. This time the rejection was that my machines were too old to fix, and I had far too many service calls on them. "I had already cost them, too MUCH MONEY" "They were in the business to MAKE MONEY, NOT TO LOSE MONEY."
Margaret wanted me to take the $400 (per machine buyout). I didn't want the buy-out, I wanted my machines repaired. After a while Margaret wore me down. My Blood Pressure was going up. I told her to send me the paperwork. Is this how a company and management treat their Customers?
My repair services are for: PACKAGE PLAN-LAUNDRY ROOM — The Clothes Dryer and Water Heater were never in need of repair. I made two or three service calls on the wash machine. KITCHEN — I made two calls on the Stove. I have had one call on the Garbage Disposal and several calls on the Dish Washer. No calls on the Refrigerator. OUTSIDE SEWER LINE — No calls for service.
When you look at the number of service calls over the years, I don't believe they are excessive. My machines are clean and not abused. Quilts and feather pillows are taken to the laundry mat to wash, and dry. I bought top - of - the-line machines, they cannot be replaced.
What DO I Want? I want my machines repaired! I do not want my Service Agreements cancelled or prices raised in retaliation for my complaint!
Home warranty plan
I applied for the plan and was sent a contract stating my commencement date was may 3rd. On june 4th I attempted to call them stating we were having issues with a garbage disposal. I was informed that I did not have coverage because the agent taking my application made a mistake and I was sent the policy package in error. This company is a scam and I am surprised that nicor would be involved with them. I am contacting nicor to let them know what kind of company they are. The only reason I used them was because of the nicor name. The response given by elizabeth r. Is a bogus robo response and she does not exist. Just another example of how this scam company operates. The illinois attorney general office division of consumer affairs told me they have had several complaints regarding this company. Stay away!

Recently I had your plumbing contractors out for a broken sewer line.. it was supposed covered on the agreement I have been paying on for years... first plumber said it covered under agreement and told me what they would do... second group came out and did the same... but they had to talk to boss... bait and switch tactics kick and he come back and said they don't cover the break...
I was furious it state in brochure that all breaks covered from house to street are covered... the plumbers hurried and left. I returned to basement to check work.. they left a can of paddy they used on overhead cap and neglected to turn on pump.. I never thought nor would use such devious tactic

furnace repair
Told yesterday 10/17/18 that our heat exchanger has a crack in it and it was turned off. Then was told that they would not be out to fix it until the following Tuesday 10/21/18...6 days later..it is cold out side..freezing degrees and we are seniors. The furnace is 7 years old and purchased from NICOR wnd was told we would be serviced the next day on all repairs. They will not let me talk to dispatch or a supervisor. I can not have a local HVAC come to repair it...they will not pay for that. WHAT A SCAM! I want heat... we are seniors and they will do nothing!

Unauthorized penalties
Nicor solutions was supposed to set me up with a level pay account for my gas company bill (Nicor, which by the way, they are not part of) . I made my payments and was way ahead of what i actually owed the gas company. Then i was 2 weeks late on a payment. Nicor solutions now said i owed them a "penalty" of $632. They have tried to sue me for the amount, but as they don't have my signature on anything that says i agreed to this penalty, no lawyer will take the case. The amount is something they apparently pulled out of their collective a**, since it isn't a multiple of any of my payment amounts. This has been going on for years and they have managed to ruin my credit with a black mark of a "pending lawsuit". I guess the only option i have is to pay their extortion, because i can't afford a lawyer to sue them. Don't check any boxes on your bill that you are interested in level pay. That's all i did, and now my credit score is a big fat zero!

Rip off/ scam
Have just found out that I have been involved in a scam for several years. Worst part is the scam artist is a local utility supplier Nicor Solutions. They have collected over $2400 over and above what my cost of gas should have been for the past 4 years. And, when questioned about it they said that was the contract I chose. I asked for a copy of the contract that I signed, conveniently they say it was verbal. I asked to have the money refunded and was told the best he could do was give me a one month credit. Other people need to know how their "Fixed Bill Program" works and that it is a rip off. As for me, I am a single mom trying to support two kids on a limited income in a home that my Mom is letting us live in. I'm mad as H... and am not going to take it any more! But have been told that I would need to pay an EXIT FEE just to get out of the program! Now if all of this doesn't scream SCAM I don't know what does - how can this be legal? Can anyone help me?

I cancelled my service around 02/12/2024. service contract is good until 02/26/2024.
I called 02/15/2024 because a light went out in my refrigerator, which is covered by my plan.
i was told it would only be covered if I renew my policy. I refused. I asked to speak with a supervisor. That never happened. i would like the service I paid for.
As of 4/2/18, the current name is Nicor Home Solutions. I realize it's my fault for not questioning what this charge was before, but when I finally did look into it, virtually no one has anything good to say. I just called to cancel and was on hold for 33 minutes before someone finally picked up. Tonisha informed me that "we don't have any record of you having an account on our end", as I was holding the bill in my hand that shows the charge. I asked to speak with her supervisor and was finally told that my account would be cancelled and that they would refund my current balance. Call me a skeptic, but I'll be watching my next bill closely.
Thanks for posting this- I just got a thing in the mail saying "Nicor Solutions" is changing its name to "Illinois Energy Solutions". Claiming they'll give you $20 off your regular fixed bill, plus a $25 visa gift card. If they can afford to do that, I wonder how much more they're overcharging!
I am so glad that I looked it this scam before signing up for the suppose to be energy plan. This is sad that you have scammers like this in the world.
They said we will send a bill for the year. They did. I asked three times for what the plan covers. They said they would e-mail it and send by USPS mail. They never did but they want the money first before telling me what the plan covers or does not cover? looks like a rip off to me.. I am canceling before I ever send them a cent-
I live in an apartment building. I had Nicor Home Solutions to cover repair costs, for a washer, refrigerator, TV, and home computer. I was billed through Ohio Edison. I moved. When I moved, I stayed in the same building and just changed apartments. I was not told that would end my services from Nicor. I was and still am furious when Nicor would not reinstate me.
I also have been billed for their services of which I have Never used! When I called recently because I needed service I could not get through. You get an automated menu, after your selection it tells you they have a high volume of calls and puts you on hold with REPEATING COMMERICALS! This went on for the last 5 days I called. My wait times were all OVER 15 min., one call I waited 25.32 min. before hanging up. I got an automated recording one day telling me my wait time would be 75 minutes! I went to their website and filled out a request for service - it was never answered. But when I filled out a cancellation of service request on this same site, I received an email telling me that I would have to VERBALLY cancel the contract. If I can't get through for service, do you think I'll be able to get through for a cancellation? FAT CHANCE! I did not verbally signup for this contract, did online and it appeared on my Nicor bill, they automatically renew and bill without VERBAL consent. Best Scam going in the utilities companies!
I was under the impression that the fixed monthly payment would add up over the year. In other words, if during the Summer months, the actual bill was $25.00 and I was paying $100.00 per month, there would be a balance of $75.00. On the months when my actual bill was less, I expected that the extra money would be adding up to use toward the winter months and if over the year, there was money left over, it could be refunded.
When calling today, I found I was completely wrong. The fixed payment plan is just a plan that allows you to pay the same amount throughout the entire year. If your payment is $100.00 per month and you paid $1200.00 for the year, and the actual usage came to $1050.00 per the year, there is no refund. On the other side, if your actual usage is $1400.00, you do not have to pay the extra $200.00 .
Not sure that I will be continuing with this company. New contracts come up the month of October, with adjusted monthly amounts, could be more could be less. This is the time you can opt out of the program and not be charged an exit fee.
well i have been on the program for 4 yrs and the most my bill has been is 60.00 for 12 months and now this yr my bill will be 55.00 a month thats a yr $660.00 for the 2015 yr so actually my was reducted by i am saving $60.00 this yr so i will not bash this co
I agree, they are scammers. EVERYONE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. They call themselves NICOR ADVANCED ENERGY, i was under the impression that this was NICOR GAS but it is not. If you are looking to start service with NICOR GAS do not fall for NICOR ADVANCED ENERGY it is a totally different company and they charge far more for your service than NICOR GAS does. I was with this company for 4 years until I called them to switch my plan and found out they were not who i thought they were. I over paid in the course of 4 years over $1600 more than i should have and yes they charge an EXIT fee for cancelling your service.
