The worst company to deal with
This is without a doubt the worst company to deal with. I shop with a lot of catalog companies but never had the problems I've had with them.
I ordered a dress & pocketbook, I waited & waited, finally the pocketbook came. I called to see when the dress was coming, they told me it was backordered. I really wanted the dress. Another phone call they tell me it's no longer available. Neither time did they email me to let me know, isn't that common courtesy. Then I get a catalog and the dress is in there. Now...wouldn't you think that the customers that ordered it first would be the first to get it. No, I call again I had to order it again, then took weeks to get it. Another problem...placed order on Jan 6 with my debit card...no confirmation, didn't see the amt taken off my debit card. I email once, twice, no response. How rude! I order the same item on Jan 17, this time I got a confirmation. I have been waiting, I called last week she said it would be shipped tomorrow, still haven't seen it. Called today, he tells me my card was declined. I know there was plenty of money on my card. So I give him my credit card number ( that I really didn't want to use) and he says order will go out right away. (Yeah right) I call my debit card to see why they declined, they tell me that that company never contacted them for a purchase. Three guesses who is not telling the truth and the first two don't count!
Customer service and expedited shipping
Ups and fedex are at our door at least 4 times a week - we normally order from amazon prime - but i saw some things in the northstyle catalog that i really liked and wanted to try them out. What a joke - i received an email confirmation of my order the same day - - paid through the nose for 2nd day shipping.
I wish i had read all the reviews about this company before i placed my order. First, one item is still back ordered after 2 weeks - 4 items say "shipped", we only received 2 in one box. There is no way to get tracking information - and their customer service request page is false and a lie - no one ever emails or calls back - after multiple attempts - i will never use this company again and i would recommend everyone to run, hide their wallets, and stick to amazon - this company is run by a bunch of incompetents.
On 8/12 they finally listed fedex tracking for one package – again - paid for 2nd day shipping on all items - states shipped on 8/4 and arriving on 8/12. This is not 2nd day shipping - i want a refund on the 2nd day charges - i will be posting every day on a different review site about how horrible this company is – i have made at least 5 attempts to contact them with zero response. Quite alarming and disgusting way to do business.
Lastly - to add icing to the cake - we paid for 2nd day shipping - and it showed they would use fedex - so the delivery address is shown as my home address - we do not get postal delivery at our home - so we have to use a po box for mail delivery - now the fedex tracking shows usps will deliver - cross my fingers that the postal worker who handles this package knows me - otherwise the package will get sent back - ugh!
Customer Service and Shipping
This company is a joke to deal with. Their catalog is nice and the items look like good quality. I placed an order and 3 1/2 weeks later I still have not received. The event I ordered the items for is now passed and I had to purchase something elsewhere. I called NorthStyle Customer Service and was very disappointed in their attitude and concern for my order. I would guess that calls like mine are all that they receive day in and day out and have become defensive in tone because of this. I was told that perhaps my items were backordered and that was the cause of the delay. I responded that it would have been nice to receive an email informing me of this and the representative said I must have given them a wrong email address! I certainly received an email confirming my order. Absolutely ridiculous. I cancelled my order and will never deal with this company again.
Merchandise availability/prompt shipping
Today is July 28, 2016. This the second time that I have ordered something from NorthStyle that didn't show up. I ordered a pair of pants on July 4, and got a confirmation email of my order. On July 6, they updated the status of the order to "in the warehouse." On July 12 I sent an inquiry through their customer service site about the status of shipping; there has been no reply. On July 18, I called customer service and was told that they had moved a warehouse, which was backing up shipping; there was no estimate on when the item would be shipped. I asked to speak to a supervisor; I was transferred to someone's voice mail, where I left a message including my phone number, but no one has returned my call. I called again today and spoke to a supervisor, who said that they would monitor the order to determine if there was some way to get it out to me within the next 7 days. They offered to refund the shipping cost when I receive the order.
This company needs to clean up its practices -- keep the web site up to date regarding which items are in stock; update order status with real information; respond to customer inquiries sent through their web site; respond to phone messages; provide their staff and their customers with accurate and genuine reports of status on orders; and find project managers who can move a warehouse without backing up shipping for a MONTH on items they show as being in stock. I believe they should not only refund me the cost of shipping, but should provide some other consideration (a gift card, for example) for the time and effort I have put into trying to get something that I ordered.
Well they haven't changed a thing. I ordered 1-6-2017, received a portion of my order on [protected] with the same excuse that shipping was delayed due to change of warehouse.. No word on when or if Ill receive the rest of my order
Shipping/Handling Charges
On February 19, 2016, I placed my first (and last) order with NorthStyle. I paid $19.99 in shipping charges with a guarantee of 5-7 days for delivery. My order number was J7134751; my order arrived 11 days later. I emailed the company asking for a refund on the S/H charges and they refused. The customer service emails were curt, rude and downright insulting. They even tried to convince me that they had delivered within the time frame they promised AS IF I DID NOT HAVE THE RECEIPT AND COULD NOT COUNT! I purchased over $200 worth of clothing from NorthStyle and will never do business with them again.
Defective clothing
I was really disappointed to receive a coat that not only was not as shown in the photo online and in the catalog, but as I was deciding whether or not to keep it, the first time I was going to wear it, discovered that both pockets were frayed and torn. Probably just sloppy sewing, but still. Very disappointed to find that I had to pay the shipping to send back a defective product. Still waiting on an email or some contact from their customer service department as to whether or not I will get my return shipping refunded.
Vip membership "club"
Watch out for North Style's VIP membership offer. Its a scam. I never experienced any benefit from it and I didn't catch that they were charging my account $14.95 MONTHLY [protected]) until I happened to be online when it came through. Its very difficult to cancel this so-called VIP Club membership. Its necessary to call [protected] to cancel.

I ordered three items from Northstyle: pants, sweater, and a top. The top was scheduled to arrive separately, and it did. I was told that the pants and sweater were shipped together, yet when the pants arrived they were the only item in the package. The mailing list noted items had been shipped, although there were hand-written notations (not legible) next to the sweater listing. After some weeks without any delivery of the sweater, or notification by Northstyle of where it might be, I began a back and forth round of inquiries with Customer Service, trying to get an answer. Weeks passed with no conclusion and as of this writing, after 2 months, I have come to the conclusion that I will never receive the item I ordered, nor will I ever receive a satisfactory answer to any of my inquiries, nor will I ever see a credit owed to me on my credit card for this merchandise. I have had other issues with this company in the past, but this has been the worst, most unprofessional experience that I have had. I will never order merchandise from this company again. I have requested that my name be removed from their mailing lists and files. Even that process is running into issues as the CS team cannot seem to read my clearly labeled address included on the generic form and are now sending me emails asking me to provide that address so that I can be removed.
Received a damaged product
I recently ordered a pair of earring from Northstyle and when they arrived they were damaged. The earrings were obviously damaged when they were packaged, a loop was bent and a stone was cracked and the postal packaging was intact. I was refunded the purchase price and return shipping of $4.74, but not my original $8.99 shipping charge. When I called, twice, I was told each time that they NEVER refund the original shipping charge. I tried to explain how ridiculous this policy was because they sent me the damaged goods to begin with, this was NOT what I ordered. I finally had to ask for the supervisor who stated the same policy, but would refund my original shipping this time only. I asked to be removed from their mailing list and will not order again from them.
consumer service
Ordered items. Items were then cancelled but shipping amount was not decreased. There was no communication. Checked on order status. Item was dropped off of order. Amount being charge did not change. Again no communication could be made with Northstyle. Items are very cute but expensive. I am trying to get my money back through my debit card.

Northstyle.com has a virtually non-existent customer service department. I called them repeatedly for help with an item I needed to return and was put on hold for 20 - 30 minutes each time. In frustration, I emailed them 4 times - this was 3 weeks ago. No response! If you like to buy clothing on-line, may I suggest coldwatercreek.com. Their customer service is excellent!
Dealing With Poor Customer Service
All companies are only concerned with their bottom line. All companies have very poor customer service representatives. My advice:
1. First try to settle the matter with the company’s CSR. It will not do any good but you have tried.
2. Be polite but firm.
3. Ask for the name, number and state the CSR you are talking to is from. If you are transferred to a foreign country ask to speak to a CSR in North America.
4. Keep written copies of all your correspondence. Insist that all replies from the company be in writing. Good luck on that one, companies don’t like to leave a paper trail.
5. If you don’t like writing, record the calls, advise the CSR that you are recording the call.
6. If you have an attorney and three-party calling, arrange to have your attorney on the line before you call the company. My attorney advised me that you are not required to inform the CSR or company that another person is monitoring the call .Keep copies of all of the bills you receive. The eventual lawyers, FCC, BBB and state attorney general will want copies of all of your paper work.
7. File a complaint with the FCC about your cell phone carrier, it won't do any good, but it's on record.
8. If it is not a cell phone carrier, file the complaint with the FTC, or whichever of thousands of government agencies that handle your issue.
9. Please realize that all government agencies are overworked and have been paid off by lobbyist.
10. Join any class action lawsuit against the company.
11. File a complaint with your local Better Business Bureau.
12. Contact your state attorney general.
13. During this prolonged economic rough patch all companies are out to make money anyway they can.
14. Join any class action lawsuit against the cell phone carrier. The lawyers will take the bulk of the settlement after years of ligation. When the company finally settles they will pass the cost of the settlement onto their customers, write if off on their taxes or both if they can get away with it.
15. Do this with any company or service you are having problems unresolved problems with that company or service.
16. I realize this is a lot of work, but it’s the only way to get things to change. Don’t expect overnight results, they won’t happen.
I give you this advice at no charge.

Customer (non) Service
You probably won't have to worry about these guys horrible customer service for too long - they'll be out of business. NorthStyle does not seem to want to be part of the 21st century. You can order online, and they'll send you an email confirmation - then they revert to the 20th century. Any follow-up issues like backorders, zip code issues, products sold out, etc. - and you are informed by snail mail. - more than 10 days after you place your order AND the whole order MUST be shipped together (i.e. they hold all items until all are available) or you pay DOUBLE SHIPPING!
bait and switch shipping
Used a free shipping coupon which populated my cart with $0.00 for shipping, where it previously had $10.50 for shipping. I took a screen capture showing the shipping was $0, which was populated automaticaly by their computer systems. However, once I submitted the order, I received my confirmation showing I was charged $10.50! In calling the company, I was put on hold 5 times while person talked to his supervisor. He said that it's a problem with their corporate headquarters with this free shipping and not them at the order call center. That the best they can do is offer me $4.95 shipping. I told him that it's not the amount that's the issue. It's the fact that they are practicing bait and switch and that's illegal. Their site showed my order total, which had $0 for shipping. Then they switched it out and charged me $10.50. When you hit "submit" you are agreeing to pay what is shown on your order, not what they elect to charge you AFTER you place the order. I will be contacting their corporate headquarters AND Better Business Bureau. Do NOT order from this company! Oh, and I cancelled my order.

Have you noticed the smell of items when you take them out of bag? Its a pretty strong "cheap made overseas" smell. You have to wash or hang outside for several days. The dresses were ok but the tops all had that smell. Otherwise I love what I have ordered and receive compliments on them.
This is a rip-off company with rude little girls in customer service
This is a rip-off company with rude little girls in customer service. I placed a sizable order over $300 dollars and was charged the max shipping fee of 19.95. Immediately after placing the order, I called to add an item and was told that I would have to pay another 6.95 because it was considered a new order. I felt this was not a customer friendly business and told them to take me off their mailing list. When I received the order, it was packed in a 10x10x10 box. All of the sweaters were squeezed into this tiny box and all of the earrings purchased were in one tiny smashed box. I you have to return anything they require you to use their expensive return shipping label. I contacted my State Attorney Generals office and was told that I can ship back any way I want.
Terrible customer service!
I tried to order from this catalog but when I wanted to complete the order, all the sale prices were raised to regular prices. When I called, the customer service rep told me that when I completed the order they would automatically go down -- really? Just trust them? I asked him to please just take my order over the phone and was told it would take a whole lot of time to do that. Well, gee, whose time is the most important here? I have had trouble before but I do like their clothing. I'm just going to buy from someone else now and suggest others do the same. They need either a new website, a new training program for reps, or a whole new company philosophy. Something is really wrong here.
Oh my God! I wish i knew all about this before i placed an order with these pple. Its been a month since i placed the order. Usually if i buy something online, its shipped with a week. but its been a month. Inquiries via email have not yielded any response, This is the worst company i have ever seen.
Lousy service, poor quality, non-functional website
I tried one order from this company & returned everything due to poor quality & fit. I ttempted to try again, but their website doesn't work lately. I can view items, but can't put things in the cart. I called about this two weeks back, but the service rep was clueless & unhelpful. -- Didn't even offer a phone order option!
I attempted using the site today but they still haven't fixed it so I guess they don't need business! I'm done with them. Now if only I can get them to quit sending me redundant catalogs weekly!
Puts customer last
My 1st order with NS, I chose 2nd day Express shipping.Then my shipping confirmation came. My order was sent as slow as possible and was due in 10 days! I still haven't received my items. I immediately e-mailed their help desk. NO response. I sent a second e-mail a few days later, no response. I finally took my time to call, after being put on hold for 20 min. I was told that my order wasn't sent 2nd day, sorry. I could send it back if I didn't want it. That was it, no offer to please the customer. I made the purchase to take on our trip, that will not happen. I made the comment that this was my first time with NorthStyle and likely my last, her comment: "That's your choice." It takes a little effort at least to retain a disgruntled customer. They are in business to be put out of it. I was also informed that there was only one person handling the e-mail helpdesk, but he would get back to me...maybe next year!
Stay away
I ordered three items from North Style in August. One item came to me a week later. We are now coming onto the fourth week-and the other two items (the most expensive) have not yet arrived. When I spoke to North Style, they stated that it would take 10 days to get from Boston (where they are located) to DC (the area where I lived). When I pointed out that it had been 20 days, they were very dismissive.
North Style did not appear to be very customer friendly nor does it appear that they do any type of tracking, because she couldn't even say whether the items had been actually shipped-and that was 20 days after the order.
Credit card fraud
Watch out for these people. They sent me something i didn't order and told me i bought it on a credit card. The number they gave me isn't even a card i have. ? I don't know if i have been a vicitm of credit card fraud but i am finding out. And when i talked to northstyle they didn't seem concerned at all. They said oh well maybe it was a fraudulant charge and one chick said they get fraudualant charges all the time! Wtf? All in a days work at northstyle or what? I had never even heard of this craphole.
