Watch out for North Style's VIP membership offer. Its a scam. I never experienced any benefit from it and I didn't catch that they were charging my account $14.95 MONTHLY [protected]) until I happened to be online when it came through. Its very difficult to cancel this so-called VIP Club membership. Its necessary to call [protected] to cancel.
Yes, "V I P" is a scam! They started charging me after I placed an order with them for it. A mysterious charge of $14.95 started showing up on CC bill two months in a row. I did NOT know anything about it. I called [protected] and asked them to remove these charges and remove my name from their catalog list. VERY deceptive indeed!
Same story. While I enjoy Northstyle clothing, I did not ask to join a VIP club and certainly not for $14.95 a month (with no obvious benefits). I called the [protected] number and was almost immediately connected to an operator. He agreed to take me off the list - no questions, no wondering why - effective immediately. I asked if I could be refunded the charges since I never asked to be part of the club. Again, no trying to talk me out of it. Just silence then "your membership has been discontinued and the last three months of charges refunded. I would be thrilled except for the fact I never asked to be part of this and it was extra work for me to "unjoin".
I am posting because I noticed the date on the previous comments. It is now a year later, and I just got charged the 14.95. I never signed up for VIP. I went to back the Northstyle website after I noticed the charge added to my account. There is NO information about a VIP service...therefore you can not even check to see what it is or what you get for the 14.95. I believe this to be illegal. I would not purchase from this company. If they fraudulently sign you up for re-ocurring charges...what else will they do? You need to be able to trust your vendor with your privacy and information. I do not trust Norhstyle. It has been a full year that they have been using this practice. From the other posts, they have been told. It is not a mistake...they mean to rip you off.
Wow, reading the previous entries outlines my experience exactly. I DID NOT enroll in the VIP program but was sent a postcard saying that I needed to claim my reward through a rebate request. I was surprised because I knew that I had not enrolled in such a program and called the [protected] number. The customer service representative said that I was enrolled even though I distinctly remember reading through the "benefits" and quickly clicked out of that window so that I would not enroll. I stated my concern and was taken out of the VIP program. I will not ever order anything from North Style or any of its sister corporations again. There are plenty of providers with similar products at similar or lower prices that do not charge for shipping or return shipping AND do not ask you pay a "membership" fee so that shipping will be "free". What a bogus business practice and most certainly a scam.
My newest resolution-Be more diligent of banking statements! For 25 months, I was billed by North Style VIP!
Now awaiting refund to show on bank account. Total=$375!
It is my mother’s account, and I had been thinking the charge was an automatic bill pay.
They said I had provided my email address, when making a purchase in 2016, thus becoming a member
of their VIP Club. I threatened fraud charges and they immediately agreed to refund 25 months of charges!
They will never get another order from me.
I ordered a gift online. The next couple of months I started receiving $14.95 charges on my account. I had no reason to sign up for the VIP Club. Am very disappointed that this company which has good clothing would do this to their customers.
Total scam! Just read all these reviews and I too was signed up automatically. Didnt realize till now of this monthly charge! What a RIP off. Please beware of these scammers
Pretty much the same thing here. I have been seeing a $14.94 charge on our credit-card account for months and thought that my wife must have purchased something. $14.95 didn't seem like much to talk about, so I didn't question her about it; until today. I looked back and saw we've been paying $14.95 since last February; with an initial purchase of clothing the month before (about $230).
I looked at the Northstyle web-site and saw how easily someone can interpret the 10% off as a free service just by signing up for VIP. There isn't any mention of this VIP service costing anything.
My wife called them and spoke to Customer Service and told them the whole story (12 months of charges). They said they would cancel the membership and reimburse the entire 12 months of charges. WE should see that credited to our charge card within 2-5 days (it's a Friday today). Within seconds the email tone chimed and there was an email confirmation of the cancellation plus the reimbursement agreement.
The Lesson to learn; if it sounds too good to be true - it isn't, plus - READ the fine-lines of the agreement.
If you would like to be removed from the "club" and have all your monthly charges be refunded, call [protected] and request this. My call was answered immediately and there was no question about being refunded the $14.95 monthly fee for the past year.
Omg I after 2 years I just notice this on my card who do I call for help
I agree with everything said above. Not only did they charge me without my authorization, but after I cancelled the account they mysteriously reopened it - also without my authorization! - and began to charge me $14.95/month. When I called to complain and get the second account cancelled, the customer service representative was incredibly rude. I will NEVER order from Northstyle now!
Call who? They have scammed me out of 5 months. The customer service number only connects me to orders.
I called the phone # that was shown next to PGI Northstyle on my credit card statement to cancel it. I also was scammed out of a couple months' worth of VIP membership which I was not interested in. It may be that all you have to do to join VIP for "free" is click on the more info link for it. Somewhere it says it's free for 30 days only...?
Same experience,
I opened a regular customer account in 2019, not sure whether it was called VIP, and only purchased three items, none in 2020 and 2021. Northstyle VIP started charging the credit card associated with the account in July 29, 2021, without asking for authorization.
I called them today and asked whether they could provide prove for the authorization. They ignored the question and just offered to reimburse the charges since July 2021. Will wait and see whether this is really going to happen.

They need to be reported for fraud. They also started charging me for that stupid VIP service that I never ordered. When I called, they told me they would reimburse me and now I see it's for only one month. You can be sure I'm going to be raising a stink about it. Stay away from North Style. They are scammers.
Echoing others on this board regarding NorthStyle, I just learned that I’ve been charged $14.95 per month for a VIP membership that I did not sign up for. This started as soon as I placed an online order three months ago and luckily I happened to notice the charges today. It is difficult to reach Customer Service and when you finally figure out how to reach them, they offer no explanation. I was met with lots of heavy sighs but the agent refused to answer any questions, but thankfully agreed to refund all charges. Hopefully that happens, but buyers beware. I will never shop NorthStyle again.
Just notice Northstar was charging my account to be a VIP member. I did not authorize it. They didn't offer my money back for the 2 months they charge me.
I have the same complaint at others; that I was charged a monthly membership fee for VIP - somewhere it stated it was "free" but that was obviously only for 30 days; thereafter you will be charged and probably not realize it as I did. When I saw the recurring amount on my credit card statement, I called the phone number listed by the name of the vendor (PGI Northstyle VIP) that was listed on my credit card statement to cancel immediately, which I was told they would do. The lady did tell me that it was only free for 30 days...glad I only paid for for 2 months before I noticed it and researched it - found this site and was able to address it immediately by calling the # next to the charge on my statement.
