kitchen sink stove and electrical outlets
Beginning March 23rd ( approximately) I began to notice water under stove and in front of stove. I requested a ticket for repair. I was out of town however my daughter remained in the residence. Maintenance on Tuesday March 27th, moved the stove and made 2 holes to check for leaks. They stated they saw nothing and stated they would check the 9th floor apartment and told my daughter to remove all items from cabinets and under the sink and would return. But they did not return. I spoke with Housing assistant, who stated that there were open kitchen repair tickets in my record. At this time the water in the kitchen has become worse reaching the living room and damaging kitchen tiles. Due to their lack of response I called housing emergency which told me that they would respond within 24 hours. However, the water continued to gush out of the pipes behind the stove and out of fear that this could cause an electrical fire I called the fire department on July7th. The fire department had to cut off my gas line and called Con Edison to determine the severity of the damage to electrical outlet and stove. To date maintenance on July 8th removed kitchen cabinets and sink, opened the walls, to inspect pipe leaks. Plumber came July 10th but has not completed job. The leaks continue. I am unable cook or use my kitchen in any way. I suffer from asthma and have mold allergies as does my grandson. I have called many times to housing and Boro and no one has responded to my concerns about this matter. Any questions please email or call. Email is [protected]@aol.com or [protected] .Thank you!
As of July 17 no one has come to resolve my issues in the kitchen. I have had to use the bathroom sink to wash kitchen utensils and as a result my bathroom sink is now stopped up.
bathroom ceiling falling/ transfer
Let's let's start off with the leaking ceiling that is invading my bathroom for a whooping 1 1/2 . So some time at the beginning of the year I put in a complaint about my ceiling that was leaking, at the time I didn't know where it was from. So they came in May 2019 and fixed it. Literally not a day after they ceiling gets wet AGAIN and I go up to the neighbor directly above from me and ask is there water on her floor. He husband comes to the door and goes and checks and said nonchalantly "sorry my child spilled SOME water on the floor I'll handle it" and closes the door in my face. Went back downstairs and I called hosing real quick put in a ticket told her what the problem was I stated that the PEOPLE above don't watch the children letting them splash water on the floor like. Who leaves their child unattended while they are in the bathroom no less. I know they are small because they get stuff stuck in the toilet as well and have the pipe that is directly over my toilet leaking too many times to count. Now here is my 2nd compliment I put in a medical request transfer because I have SLE (Lupus) and Sjogrens Syndrome, a heart condition, a major stroke and blood clots in my legs. The elevator keeps breaking down (both of them) I am left to go up the stairs which once this past year has left me with a PE (Pulmonary Embolism) which is a blood clot in my lungs for 3 days before I was discharged home and the PE was STILL in my lungs. I put in a medical transfer so they gave me so place in upper Manhattan I called it not once not twice but three times to schedule an appointment to look at the Apt no one got back to me. Before I ever got a call back I received notification in the mail talking about bed bugs from floor 2-7 I was like hell no. I tried to get in contact with the lady handling the transfer to no avail yet again so I am stuck with medical issues and breaking down apt due to HOUSING NEGLIGENCE about my medical issues and niegbors who don't know how to control their children. So I'm basically stuck in a hell hole because you failed to get me a transfer where they actually pick up the phone. Oh and I ALMOST forgot I took my 19 year old off a few months ago and they refuse to do so because I showed proof she is in college and can no longer afford the "high " rent and they know I am on disability and they still keeping it high. If this isn't messed up I don't know what is my rent used to me 352. It skipped the 400's not its 557 like where?
maintenance has not been sent to my apartment on a 24 hr ticket
My parents bedroom has a leak coming from the far left corner of the wall. Multiple cracks and paint damage has resulted all over the wall as a result of the leak. I submitted a 24 hr emergency ticket to nycha hotline and was evem sent to emergency services but no response sice the ticket was submitted on 7/4/19. More air bubbles will form if leak is not taken care of.

mailbox compromised on numerous occasions
I go to work and my mailbox is locked, when I return it's open I have found keys and marijuana someone left in it like a storage space. I've been trying to have it changed I put in tickets that are worded wrong so they want to charge me for the replacement of a cylinder change. I don't make much money and my health is compromised I pay partial for medication. The maintenance man came on June 11, 2019 to fix a broken mailbox door which is not broken. I call the management office spoke to the receptionist Tanya who screamed and hollered at me and I could hardly say anything while I was with the maintenance man trying to tell her what the problem was kept screaming when I said it's nothing I did to with the door. She screamed $17.25 money order for something I didn't do. The mailbox has been compromised. The lobby door to the building lock is always broken and open it never locks and that leaves the mailboxes an easy target I have some medicines and other mail sent to my address I can't afford to pay for again. Please help me with this cylinder change on my mailbox and maybe some training for the receptionist. Thanks in advance. Maureen Alston
mildew and unfixed apartment
My name is Sherry Hawthorne, I'm a mother of three children. I have twin three year olds sons with autism living in an much apartment that has a bad case of mildew. I and the head of house hold have called and made complaints many times, and much does nothing as been done about this manner. Not only is this matter critical to my health but mainly to my children's help. But since the head of house hold no longer trys to get anything done and being that much does nothing as well, I fear my children's health my get worst and I'm in need of help asap.
led testing results
My name is Autumn Sims and I was approved for and have signed my lease for an apartment in Williamsburg Brooklyn. I was told that LED testing was being done in November and then I would be able to move in once the results are in. I am currently still awaiting those results and at this time I am sleeping on friends couches with a newborn baby. When I have called the leasing office at Williamsburg I am met with hostility, unfprofessionalism and attitude when I inquire about this apartment. Ms Thomas nor any other staff members will help me or even have a telephone number where I can get some sort of answers. I am writing this complaint as well as calling local News channels as I have been forced to do.
apartment door lock broken
On May 13, 2019 at about 6:30pm we could not unlock our apartment door. We had to get a friend come over and slide the key under the door to see if they could unlock it that way, they could not. We were finally able to get the door open using the key an a butter knife. When we did that the cylinder for the lock came off. We then called the customer call center, got a ticket number, I then spoke to an actual person and told them what happen. They said they would but it down as an emergency. On one ever came .I called back at 10:30pm, 1:10 am and again at 6am. Every time I called they kept saying they would but it in as an emergency.but they didn't. I have crack addicts living in my building. I could not go to sleep for fear they would break into my apartment. Nobody cared. They treated it like it was nothing. I could have been raped or killed cause I am on the 1st floor, right off the lobby.
no hot water
We have put in 7 maintenance tickets dating from April 17, 2019 until today May 7, 2019 regarding no hot water and we still have not received any help. With 3 small children in the house, one of which suffers from a skin problem that is soothes through a hot bath this is a major problem. The bathroom ceiling is caving in and nobody has bothered to fix it regardless of the health hazards to my children. NYCHA HAS TO DO BETTER! This is beyond ridiculous.

apartment that I have not moved in
I had an interview March 8 for a studio Senior Apt located at 190 Lincoln Ave apt 13B Bronx NY 10454 I saw the apt. There was a face plate off the wall, 3 or 4 pieces of clothing in 1 closet, the stove was pulled away from the wall and 1 small piece of furniture. I did not observe any mold or mildew on walls or ceiling or messed up floor. Perhaps there was some internal damage I could not see. I was informed all I needed to do was give 2 checks. $211 for rent $105.50 pro-rated rent, $10 smoke alarm $25 carbon monoxide and $211 for security with in 7 days. I took money back March 11 signed all paperwork and was told I would get a call. I have not received the call yet. I called after 2 weeks to hear I didn't call you. I asked what repairs were needed was told by housing assistant she didn't know. I stopped by April requested to see the place again to make sure I didn't dream it all was told I didn't call you. If I am not going to get this place I want my money back now. I don't have a clue of what is going on 40 days is a long time to be waiting to not even get an update on any progress.
$1,000 (safety deposit/rent) stolen by management in jacob riis housing - 134 avenue d, new york
We submitted a safety deposit and rent in advance for an apartment offered. Then we went back to the office and canceled our offer only one day after submitting the deposit of over $1, 000. This was an entire year ago. We have all our money order receipts and receipts from the office. We are still calling about our money and they are still "looking for it" even after one year. Management has taken two vacations for many months off. These people do not want to help us at all. What can we do to get our money back or who can we speak to?
extra fee charges on rent and maintenance issues

I have written letters and left several messages for management and to date have not received any call backs or responses. I have scheduled several appointments on maintenance issues; broken/missing kitchen cabinets; clogged...

Read full review of NYC Housing Authority [NYCHA]maintenance and management
Maintenance does not keep scheduled appointment. They follow their own schedule going against residents schedule. Management defends maintenance and their excuse is they only have one maintenance worker. This has been their excuse for almost 3 years. Why can't nycha follow or have a work ethic and rules? Nycha should accommodate residents and their schedule and not have residents accomodating nycha especially if the resident works. Don't nycha employees get paid enough? Why aren't these nycha workers happy? Don't they appreciate their jobs?

repairs not being made in my house, hazardous ones
I am having a major issue with getting repairs done in my house. I have had tickets in for more then a year and repairs still have not been made. In my sons room it rains whenever it rains outside. There is mold all in my bathroom. My kitchen floor was uprooted and never completed. I have developed minor breathing problems and so has my son. I am reaching out to whoever will listen but nothing seems to be getting done.
I have a mold issue in my house that get cleaned and painted but the root of the problem is never dealt with so the mold pops up all over the house at different times. I am praying that this will not cause long term effect to our physical bodies. I am keeping track of all the times they have come out and in some areas of the house never really complete the job like in my livingroom. Also, the heat and hot water issue is beyond frustrating at the amount that we pay for rent. Waking up everyday or coming home from a long day of work wondering if you going to be lucky enough to find heat or hot water is not a way to live. NYCHA has to really do something about these conditions
