open road chevrolet is the worst place to go for customer service. they never have loaner cars available which is a huge inconvenience. i would not recommend going here.
Oil change took like forever, man
Oil change took like forever, man. They said it would only take an hour, but it ended up taking over 2 hours. I had an appointment and everything, but they told me that it only gets me in line after I was already ticked off. And get this, they didn't even tell me that until after they took my car and keys! Like, what the heck, dude?
Open Road Chevrolet in Union, NJ is tough to work with
Open Road Chevrolet in Union, NJ is tough to work with. I bought a car on Feb. 17, 2020 and got a 3-year warranty for $1,595. The next day, I came back to cancel it. They said the finance people were busy and to call. A week later, I talked to Jerry. He said he couldn't cancel it because it takes 45-60 days to process. On March 24, the warranty company got my contract. I tried to contact Open Road 8 times, with emails, texts, and letters. They didn't reply and didn't help. Open Road was so hard to deal with that I'm taking legal action now.
This place is a joke!
This place is a joke! I was talkin with a sales guy bout a car since Monday. I rented a car to go see it on Saturday, ready to buy it. But when I got there they said "someone just put a deposit on it 45 min ago!" I knew they were tryin to make me pay more than it was worth by sayin someone else wanted it. They are crooks! Don't go there! They are rude, liars, and just tryin to rob you. If you want to get the run around and robbed, go there!
I left my car at Open Road Chevrolet for 5 days 'cause it was leaking water from somewhere
I left my car at Open Road Chevrolet for 5 days 'cause it was leaking water from somewhere. They kept my car for 5 days and couldn't find where the problem was coming from. In addition, they SCRATCHED my car hood. I went back to complain about it and I didn't hear "I'm sorry" or anything close to it. They tried to fix the scratches but it didn't work very well. They said they did the better they could. I drove my car back to home and started to search on the internet about the leaks. I've read about something related to the water bag located in the trunk and within 5 minutes using a flashlight and a bucket of water I found where the leaks were coming from. In the end, I found the problem, lost time and money leaving my car on that facility and I got scratches poorly fixed on my car hood!
I went to Open Road Chevrolet a few weeks ago to check out a 2009 Saturn
I went to Open Road Chevrolet a few weeks ago to check out a 2009 Saturn. I talked to a salesman named *** who then passed me on to another salesman. It took a while for him to find the car, so maybe they should label the lot better. When we finally found it, we had trouble starting it. The battery might have been dead. Also, the car had a weird smell, and it was dirty inside with trash and a dirty floor mat. They should clean the cars better before selling them. I told the salesman to check the car for electrical problems and to clean it up before I came back. I never heard from them again, but I saw that they dropped the price a lot. I hope they improve their business practices.
I bought my 2012 Chevy Equinox from this place before it became "open road" and I always got my car serviced there
I bought my 2012 Chevy Equinox from this place before it became "open road" and I always got my car serviced there. There was a service manager named Bino who I trusted with my car. When he told me about other services that I might need, Bino took the time to explain what was really important and I felt like he had my back. But things have changed in the last few years. I always thought that when I came in for an oil change, they were telling me about services that I didn't really need. In September, they told me that there was a crack in my timing belt when I went in for front brakes and brake fluid. I didn't get that work done and my car has been driving fine. Once, I had my seat looked at because it wasn't moving right and they told me I needed a new motor for $1000. I took it to a local mechanic who fixed a frayed wire for $350. Yesterday, April 13, was the last straw. I went in for an oil change and asked them to check out a rattling noise I heard when I hit the gas. They told me I needed new pistons and a bunch of other stuff for $5000. I was so shocked by the price, but the service guy and manager said they would work with me and got the price down to $4400. I took a loaner and almost went for it, but I thought about it and brought the loaner back. I got the oil change and coolants they recommended (which I'm not sure I needed), and took it to a local mechanic who found nothing wrong with the pistons and just recommended a tune-up. I'm really disgusted. I don't know if they were taking advantage of me because I'm a woman or because of the economy and the mechanic is making up services to get paid, but it's not right. If I hadn't thought twice, I would have paid $5000 for work I didn't need. I'm never going back to open road Chevrolet and I probably won't buy another Chevy again. I'm really disappointed and I wonder how many unnecessary repairs I've paid for over the years.

I bought a 2017 Camaro ZL1 from Open Road Chevrolet in November
I bought a 2017 Camaro ZL1 from Open Road Chevrolet in November . When I got the car, the floor mats were missing and the tires were worn down to 5/32. I talked to Steven Stoop, the sales manager, about the tire issue. Another sales rep told me that the oil had been changed, but when I took it to a local GM dealer, they said it hadn't been changed at all. The car was 3 or 4 years old, so the oil was the same age. Greg, the general manager, got involved and said I would get a refund within a week. It's now June 22 and I still haven't received the refund for the oil change and missing floor mats. I have texts and emails to prove it.
I buyed a car from Open Road Chevrolet on Feb 17, 2020
I buyed a car from Open Road Chevrolet on Feb 17, 2020. The next day I went back to cancel the $1,590 3-year warranty. They sayed the finance department was busy and I should call or email. I tried calling, texting and emailing for 3 months to cancel the warranty. They ignored me and never replied. Finally, last month, First Extended Warranty from Chicago emailed me and said the warranty was cancelled. The $1,590 was sent back to Open Road and not to my bank. I tried contacting Open Road to get my money back but they ignore me. Why they treat me like this? Why they can't respect me? I complained before and they didn't help. I have to complain to ComplaintsBoard.com and maybe go to court.

Me and my hubby went to Open Road Chevrolet in Union NJ on December 4
Me and my hubby went to Open Road Chevrolet in Union NJ on December 4. We had some trouble with our back brakes, so we got them fixed along with the Rotor's. We paid $642.34 for the job. We knew about some fluid leaks (oil/Transmission/coolant) and tire tread depth issues, so we scheduled to take the car back on December 8th to get those checked. We also scheduled an oil change. My hubby got to the shop at 7:52 am, and he called me to say they needed to keep the car for a few days. I told him to ask for a loaner so we could get to work and other places we needed to go. But they said they had no loaners available. We've been through a lot with this car in the past two years, and we need it to get around. I have medical issues, and it's not fair that they won't give us a loaner until they're done with our car. Can someone please help us with this issue? Thanks in advance!
I went to Open Road Chevrolet in October to renew my lease
I went to Open Road Chevrolet in October to renew my lease. The sales rep I dealt with couldn't make any decisions without speaking to her higher up, and they didn't run my credit. I ended up leaving with a 2021 Chevy Blazer, but after driving it for only three days, the check engine light came on. I called the dealership and had trouble getting the service department to accommodate me, but eventually they did. However, after leaving the dealership, the check engine light came back on. I returned to the dealership and spoke to a higher up, who told me they didn't have the part to fix the vehicle and it would take a week to come in. They didn't offer me a loaner vehicle. A week later, my plates came in and I told my sales rep I didn't want the vehicle anymore. It's been sitting at the dealership since November 14th, and I was only offered a loaner then. I contacted the General Manager, but wasn't satisfied with the response. I escalated the case, but was told to wait. I've waited long enough.
