Van rental
The business gave me a truck rental, and I paid for their insurance. I turn it in. Months later, I got mail claiming I owed $12,000+ on a new truck. This is a scam. I used their truck for a business situation where I ran a running event. As far as I understand, I turned the truck in on the final day of renting with no problems. They're trying to charge...

Reckless driver
I'm not sure where else to put in this complaint. I cannot find any other site or phone number that I was able to make contact. One of the Penske trucks almost ran me off the road. Whether it was an employee or someone renting 1 of the trucks, someone should be informed. The trucks LP was 3308333. The driver was a young female that had that zero concern for the cars around her. She cut off multiple people and wasn't using turn signals. She was driving north towards Frisco TX.

Incompetent driver pulling out into a highway, taking up all lanes, and stopping.
Around 7:45 AM EST, truck number 555650 pulled onto SR60 in Polk County, near County Line Rd, from a middle turn lane, while multiple vehicles were travelling at highway (65+MPH) speeds. The driver is unable to make the turn into any lane then proceeds to stop in the middle of the highway lengthwise, stopping all lanes of traffic. Multiple vehicles were forced to slam on their brakes to avoid a hit.
Desired outcome: Prevent the driver from driving a box truck again.
Employee for penske
Stacey Magub is your admission clerk in Aurora. My complaint is outside your business. I am a Colo resident 5th generation and have family with businesses who have used your service in the past. Ms. Magrub is my new neighbor in Federal Heights residing with Dale Mullen #89 who has been less then neighborly with me due to another neighbor for three years now. I have been charged with harassment on 12-24-22 by Dale with the help of Stacey who had been living with him a month then. They both lied and I am taking this to trial to prove my Innocence. Stacey did not have to be at 3 hearings and missed work to be with Dale. Stacey and Dale continue to harass me in different ways my Lawyer as well as neighbors know. Stacey called police 5-5-23 on my day for celebration with friends for Cynco De Mayo. I was ticketed for careless driving and commenting toward her 'why are you being such a [censored]'? her truck was deliberating blocking me from getting into my driveway this happened on 5-3-23. Video was shown. Video's at times don't show everything. Back to court. Ms. Magrub, Dale Mullen, Lowell Lindeman, Steve W. are racial profiling and involved as a hate group against me. You may believe it's not your problem, but it is she works and represents Penske. I have submitted a report to the civil rights division and with the Colo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. My family have been in Colorado for 7 generations. Our heritage is Hispanic and Native American Indian. We own businesses from one end of Colo to the other. Hispanics have many relatives. We have done business with Penske in the past and I was surprised Stacey worked for Penske. I will document this e-mail do as you will with your employee. If she continues to mistreat me I will do what I need to do to resolve this issue. Thank you, June A. Manzanares

Hello,
I made reservations at Penske, from this area Pick-Up: 04/22/2023 at 6:00 AM
Home Depot #[protected] Jim Wright Frwy Lake Worth, TX [protected] Your Penske rental will be ready for pick-up at The Home Depot Tool Rental Center is what I was told when I get there at 7a.m. in the morning ready for my 12-feet truck I was walked to a 10ft Van. I then asked who rented this because I sure didn't. So, the guy at the Home Depot store tried to make me take the Van. I told him the Devil is a lie I ordered a 12ft truck and I want what i was paying for. I then called the reservation number he told me that I would have to drive over to Pensky which is 15 minutes away from my home to PENSKE FORT WORTH 501 NORTH FREEWAY FORT WORTH, TX [protected], if I wanted a truck. Now there were other trucks out there that I could have used at Home Depot but I feel that when they matched the COLOR of MY SKIN to the voice immediately, they did not give a damn. I sat for an hour waiting on a truck whereas the guy that was serving me served the White Male before even coming back to tell me that he was waiting on Pensky to call him back! As a matter of fact, I had to find him! Again, I was the wrong Color. I then drove again 15 minutes to get the truck and received one from that location. I had to pay the people who were lined up to move me and additional fee because Penske did not have my rental, nor did I get it on time with a reservation that was made in a timely manner. I used the truck for 1 day and used the drop box the next morning for the drop off and they charged me for 2 days I called at least 4 times to get this resolved. On top of that they charged me 10 dollars a Gallon for GAS and I only drove 35 miles in the Vehicle which caused me 41.00 for 4 gallons of Gas Total rip off! I have never experienced such horrible customer service and treatment.
WE may not all be the SAME Color, but Our MONEY is and still will spend the SAME.
"Let Not one be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their Character.
I'm so tired of racism Yall! Its Depressing
Desired outcome: I would like a refund and an apology! I have never experienced such a feeling to continue to be overlook because of my nappy roots and my SKIN COLOR. I am a human and we are all the SAME!
Truck Sales
I purchased a truck from Penske in august 17 and took them 3 month to get the truck then finally get the truck and the engine won’t handle the truck ( very week, stales, not pulling, burning a lot of gas , not shifting correctly along with many issues) keep in mind that the truck is level 1 so it shouldn’t have issue. The sales team refuse to fix the issue claiming is nothing wrong with the engine but I drove the truck for 3 days and check engine light came on and the engine became very week after that.
Desired outcome: Make things right on timely manner because they keep dragging one week after another
Reckless Driver - MD - 6DE4067 12/18 7:10pm
A driver of truck 6DE4067 taken in 12/18 at 7:10pm before and through the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel driving on 895 South was driving recklessly, tailing cars to push them out of the way in all lanes, and switching lanes before and in the tunnel, beeping and causing traffic confusion whenever he was slowed down for even a second below 80+ mph in all lanes (he probably merged 20 times in 1 mile). Speed limit was 55 and in the tunnel the lanes are double lined. (some video and photo proof after the situation - sorry I didn't take much footage while it was occurring - feel free to ask for the larger video files)
Desired outcome: This driver should get a warning or ban from renting or driving future rental vehicles
Truck 123503
Good Morning …The Unit 123503 that I purchased 11/18/22 is still currently in the repair shop since 11/23/22…From what I was told it has major issues besides the ones that were reported….This is what I get for $65000…This has been a major problem being I just bought a house and have a family that depends on me and I can’t provide because of a bad truck that wasn’t even inspected and repaired properly…It feels like I bought a Lemon…On top of this I’m being charged for a rental truck ….this is sad and disappointing being Penske is at complete fault and the least they can do…I think Penske should do the right thing and review this situation and maybe take this truck back and replace it with another truck similar in price and miles …I’m on the verge of bankruptcy and faultering on my mortgage…i Just want this resolved before I lose everything
Desired outcome: Reimbursement for rental and reimbursement for truck and insurance payments… bills etc….
We are asking for $3.7k for remaining damages & will recontact them if we are sued.
Left for Dead by Penske!
1. The 1st truck died within the 1st 60 miles.
2. We arrived, as instructed, at 3pm the next day to oversee movement of everything we owned from truck 1 to truck 2. Nobody at the facility knew why we were there.
3. Truck 1 was completely lost, truck 2 had not been scheduled, and the moving crew (4 people promised) had not been hired yet.
4. Manager Carlos (?) left around 4pm; who leaves at 4pm on a Monday? New-guy Matthew could not fathom any part of the problem or solution; total deer in the headlights. Eventually, progress was made toward a plan.
5. We were rented a second truck but not asked whether we wanted insurance. We were billed for a second truck (extra $2.1k) – unbeknownst to us at the time.
6. We were told by Matthew that Truck 2 was newer with less miles; the exact opposite was true. Truck #1 (Year 2023, Miles 19,796). Truck #2 (Year 2022, Miles 73,142)
7. We thought we had accident insurance but learned we did not when we had a small accident; we are now in serious financial jeopardy. The rental form makes it look like we have insurance for this. We are probably going to get sued.
8. We only learned we had been billed for BOTH trucks 2 days AFTER the move. We nearly exceeded our credit card limit. If we had exceeded the limit during the move, we might not have had money for fuel, food, shelter, automatic payments, move-in costs, or emergencies. No warning. No remorse.
9. A moving crew of 2 (promised 4) arrived around 5:00pm and got started around 5:30pm. Matthew locked us out of the building and left. To his credit, he was courteous, he gave us bottled water, and he was the last Penske employee to leave for the day. Still – we were left for dead.
10. More movers arrived 2 hours later – now there were 5. They unloaded everything in the parking lot, in the dark, and in the snow. They were fast, but not careful. Our personal (not Penske) moving blankets, ropes, and moving straps were NOT used. We experienced significant damage to our belongings and do not really know whether every box got loaded. One guy loaded a long blue plastic tote into his personal van as we were leaving. Did it contain garbage or our tax returns? We will not know for months.
11. Once our belongings were moved to truck 2, the moving crew asked us to pay them immediately. As it turns out, they were not Penske employees! One got the job the same day through Craigslist. Now it is dark, we do not really know where we are, we do not have money to pay them, everyone is cold, and things are starting to turn a little ugly.
12. The sub-sub-contractor who hired them/had their money would not answer their phone calls or texts. He was ripping these guys off while we were left to deal with the consequences! We called Penske and got the one, single, non-useless Penske employee on call to help us. Kudos to her if you can track her down – let her run the Penske if nobody else wants to.
13. During the time our belongings were still being loaded, two customer “service” reps (if you can call them that) cheerfully called to verify we were back on the road. We were not, and still had a 1,500-mile drive ahead of us. They seemed confused because their information indicated we were fine. This was a 36-hour delay with no accountability.
14. The sub-contractor could not reach the sub-sub-contractor and called us. We stayed with the moving crew for over an hour until they got paid. It was not our responsibility, but somebody had to be the grown-ups at this point. We all left friends, but this whole thing did not have to happen. Note that some of the movers were discussing stealing all of Penske's trucks’ catalytic converters in lieu of payment. I do not think they were joking.
15. Here is another minor point, since I started toward the middle. We paid for Penske moving blankets and did not receive them when it came time to pick-up Truck 1. These were removed from our bill but were not available by the time our first moving crew arrived. So, damage occurred in both moves – both on Penske’s watch.
16. This list is by no means complete-but it is all I can think of right now. Penske wrecked our move, might have got us sued, and almost maxed out our credit card.
17. Nov 30 9:15am, we called customer service and got “hung-up” on during a transfer.
18. Nov 30 9:20am Wayne reversed the Grand Rapids – Kalamazoo double-charge. That should have been done automatically without our having to beg.
19. This move was botched at every step of the way. We deserve a complete refund.

Delivery box truck driver
I just had a GooseCreek Candle delivery by a Penske Delivery box truck driver. He threw my box of glass candles into a lawn chair hard and it bounced right out onto the cement...breaking two candles! He saw it and was such a jerk to just walk away. We have a gate going into our fenced in area so not necessary. This was today, about an hour ago in Hudson, FL at Barrington Hill's RV Park on 9412 New York Ave, LOT 386 in Hudson, FL.
Date: 11/29/22 at approx 12:30pm. So much for my Christmas gifts.

Used truck purchase
I was just informed that your company DENIED the repairs for this truck
This truck has been in the shop more then we have had it on our yard due to not being fixed before we were told it was ready
These are all the issues we have had with this truck
Rear brake leaking – fixed by Brattain
Check engine light/transmission light coming on – Brattain installed a sensor - Transmission light came on with in 5 miles of driving.
Front driver ball joint boot is torn
Front passenger tire is defective
All these items are things that should have been fixed BEFORE we were even given the OK to come get it. We were told the truck was Class 2 certified - which means safe to drive
According to your list you supplied for Level 2 cab and Chassis
1- Powertrain (engine, transmission, rear components) mechanically sound and properly lubricated with no fluid drips, fluid level full
Check engine comes on – needed oil changed
Transmission light on – replaced sensor did not fix issue – now stating - initial diagnosis and determined there is an intermittent electrical/communication problem in the transmission control circuit
2- Brakes – good operating condition and will meet DOT inspection requirements
Passenger rear brakes leaking fluid –wheel seal fixed by Brattain
3- Tires – tread and sidewall in good condition, tire tread depth will meet the DOT inspection requirement
Front driver ball joint boot is torn
Front passenger tire is defective due to the dumps on the inside tread. The bumps look like an egg on it side all around the inside tread in the tire. Not able to go over 40 before you loose complete control. This has gotton worse each time we drive it to and from the shop. The shop is adamant to not drive until fixed
According the repair list you supplied what your company did to make ready this truck was:
Coat Hook – Replace the coat hook
Complete PDP –
Expandable items – tire pressure and fluid level – THIS WAS NOT DONE – if it had been done, they would have seen the engine oil was low (which is why light came on) and would have seen the oil was needing to be changed – it would have also been noted that the tire was defective and needed to be changed and the driver side ball joint was torn
AND on it goes with more listing of what was done – showing labor only – no repairs were done to fix what needed that was right there in front of anyone looking at it
Desired outcome: like to get the truck fixed asap as these issues were there before we picked up the truck. Within 1 day of using the truck we had issues which we reported to Penske
Overcharge for semi rental
I had a full service truck lease with penske. My truck went into shop in january for repair to oil leaking. I couldnt get back for two months was charged an extra 1600 a week until I could pickup truck. It lasted one week went back in shop for same problem. Once again I back and was charged 1600 per week extra. Had 3 trucks in that time period all brokediwn on me lost over 120000 in revenue and had to stop driveing with carrier I was leased too because of this.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement of extra truck charges and part of lost revenue i was paying for a truck that i had for 1 week in 8 months
A driver
Some [censored] in a penske truck was doing 70mph through back roads youre not supposed to go over 30mph on and he was getting mad that i wouldnt go over 35-40 so hed ride my tail end and try and run me off the road. Looked like he was wearing a company shirt, had a mustache. Started in washburn Missouri, all the way down KK highway and we finally took different turns in Jane Missouri. Happened at 3pm-3:40. Indiana tags, plate number 3292725. He shouldnt be able to rent a big moving trucks or work for a truck rental place if hes going to put people at risk.
Desired outcome: Write him up or ban him from renting.
2016 26ft Freightliner
My experience buying a truck from Penske has been terrible. The approval for financing wasn’t the problem. This problem is they want you to put $1000 down to hold a unti to prep for presale. Without you ever test drive or seeing the unit other than pictures. Then was told it takes up to 3 weeks before everything would be completed. So from 8/8/22 to 09/02/22 we played the waiting game because the deposit is non-refundable. Then out of the blue the finance company tries to withdraw 2 payments from my account, still haven’t physically seen the unit yet. Now it won’t be ready until 9/09/22 didn’t happen well now sorry you’re looking at 9/19/22 which was false. It is now 9/22/22 and still haven’t received the unit but yet a down payment and 1st & last payments have been made. Have loss loads, time and money. I will never buy from them again and strongly suggest going to another vender. With constant communication with the sales rep, no one can give you valid answers just the run around and false completion dates🤬
I had the same issue is any way to reject the truck?
I recently bought a truck from penske. My experience has been terrible. after I paid my $1000 deposit, they postponed my pick it date twice. Then after I received my truck, they had me drive off without a temporary tag. after I asked about the temporary tag they told me that I was going to receive one in the mail in a few days. When the mail arrived It only had my power of attorney in it, NO temporary tag. I asked my sale coordinator about my temporary tag and she tells me it haven't been sent out yet. She gave me an excuse to why they hadn't sent out my temporary tag, saying " we can't send out the temporary tag until the wire transfer goes through." Why would you let me drive off the lot without a temporary tag and also why wasn't the temporary tag already there at the facility since penske already had me on delay for a month now. Now I have to wait for a temporary tag that they have not been processed yet. I lost tons of money dealing with there backward procedure. They never offered to give me a deal for my inconvenience or anything. My advice if you buy from penske deal with a local office. Do not deal through the corporate office, in Pennsylvania, they will take commission from your sale while pussy footing around with your business for weeks. Save yourself allot of stress. I haven't even had a chance to really put the truck on the road yet, I may be leaving a review on that soon, if I ever get my tag.
Dangerous Truck Driver
Getting on to i5 South from Hwy 18 in WA state, a Penske truck driver (license plate on the trailer is 2452838) was in an exit only lane and decided he needed to be in our lane and he nearly crashed us, with our 2 month old infant, into the guard rail even though we had been established in our lane and he was clearly able to see us. Earlier we witnessed him tailgating another vehicle at the start of the off ramp. I’d like to report this Penske, but am unable to locate a phone number to file this complaint.
Renting a moving truck
This is my first time renting a Penske moving truck. I did a one way rental. I picked up the truck from Clarksville, IN on 4/24/2022 at 10am and returned it to West Chester, Oh at 3:30pm the same day. The person that I returned the truck too told me they will credit my account for the remaining days because I only used it for 5.5 hours. Apparently she was wrong. The other person that was working with her told me to call the local Cincinnati office and they can take care of the payment for the extra days. I did call and spoke with Mike. He kept saying that's just what our one way rentals cost. He said there was nothing he can do. I asked to speak with someone else and he conveniently said they were in a meeting. I asked if he could talk with someone else to see if there is anything they can do. I am not asking for them to waive my entire purchase. I asked if they could do it as a one day rental and charge me for mileage. I'm completely fine with paying that. I just don't think I should be charged for an additional 1.5 days when I returned the truck and I am pretty sure they will re-rent the truck before the end of my rental. Is that legal to have 2 people paying for the truck rental for the same time frame?
I understand that I rented a truck to move belongings 2 hours away. I don't understand why I have to pay for a truck that was already turned in.
Desired outcome: I would like you all to credit me for the time I did not use the moving truck.I drove a total of 132 miles and had the truck a total of 5.5 hours. Can you charge me for a one day usage and mileage charges.

Penske Edmonton Ab Canada - terrible service
Rented a Freightliner 5 ton truck from Penske Edmonton. [protected] Ave NW. Unbeknownst to me the truck had a short in the passenger headlight which was not until night driving, not good when going through mountain passes. After calling road side assistance I was directed to take it to a service center in Kelowna BC for repairs to speed things up. Upon inspecting headlights they noticed virtually no tread left on front tires. This just did not happen, these tires were in bad shape for months and nothing was done. James Tirecraft in Kelowna took pictures and sent to Penske corporate, and upon viewing the pictures authorized replacement immediately, as they realized the lawsuit that would have happened had there been an accident because of these tires. So why can Penske corporate in the United States demand immediate action for a Canadian vehicle, while the branch in Edmonton could give rats [censored] about protecting their clients who pay outrageous rental rates for theses trucks. Anyone renting from this Edmonton branch go through truck inside and out. Oh, and the windshield is cracked in numerous places, is pitted from road sand so cannot see out when bright lights or sun hits it. Headlights need polishing as bad fading from oxidation, plus need to be aimed, adjusted. Headlights aimed high enough to see birds in top of trees and night, except the road what you should be seeing. Truck unit number was 332474, and the case number should someone from Penske want to look at file is 3923475. Below are pics of old and new tires.
Desired outcome: I would like to know if this is a systemic problem within Penske branches, and if so what will be done. You should not be putting profits ahead of customer safety.
