Phil Long Hyundai Motor City Suck!!!
Complaint: 12/11/23
I Michael Eugene Bully got a recall notice in the mail last month from Hyundai Corporate office stating that my 2007 Sante Fe had a recall for a leaking oil pan. I noticed before that, my battery kept draining so I called this Hyundai dealer in Motor City and they called me in a couple weeks ago for an inspection. During the inspection they found the leaking oil pan and also the oil from the oil pan leaked inside the alternator. So the alternator became bad due to the oil leak which caused the battery to also drain. So the technician Falepa set up my an appointment to replace the oil pan and replace the alternator plus put a oil cover over the alternator for December 13th. I called off of work for the 13th so here's the kicker. Falepa called me today 11/13 and informed me that the alternator was backed up so we have to reschedule for a later day after they receive the alternator. This was very incompetent, unprofessional, dishonest, and no integrity because why Falepa didn't just make the initial appointment after they received the alternator in the first place which caused me to miss work for no reason plus I'm also scheduled to go out of town to see my Mother, Grandkids, and daughter on December 22nd thur the 26th to spend Christmas with my Family and I was planning to drive my Sante Fe out of town. Falepa claimed they couldn't find a simple alternator but there's over a hundred Hyundai dealers in the state of Colorado so I find that very hard to believe. I even offered to ask my job Worldpac that sale warehouse auto parts but Falepa claim the parts have to come straight from the Hyundai dealer. So I told Falepa that I would be calling Every Hyundai dealer in the state in the morning to find that simple alternator and if I find one, I will be next day airing it to your store and he said okay. This sucks! I heard bad things about this Hyundai dealer but I decided to try them out since they're located close to my house. I also told Falepa that I should get some type of compensation for making me call off work for nothing which made me miss money. If they don't find a simple alternator before Christmas I do Not recommend Anyone to do Any business at this Hyundai dealer. Thank you.
Respectfully Yours;
The Bully Family
Recommendation: I do Not Recommend Anyone to have Any Service Work Done Here.
This is a follow up to a review I wrote. My name is Michael Eugene Bully and I want to make a correction. The General Manager Steve checked into the situation I had about a recall alternator and Steve was able to fix my situation. Come to find out it was all a misunderstanding. Steve took good care of me and helped me out moving forward. I'm very pleased and satisfied with Steve and Phil long hyundai motor city service department and also sales department. I recommend Every one to bring your vehicle to this location to get service and if you're looking to buy a new vehicle. Thanks Steve
The sales peple use their personal cell phones to send and store sensitive information
The sales peple use their personal cell phones to send and store sensitive information. The only safeguard in place, according to the manager, is asking the employees to delete the photos of customers sensitive information at the end of each day. With as much identity theft that there is, how can it be okay for them to use their personal, unsecured cells for customers’ sensitive information with no precautions. The manager seemed to think that by telling me I am the only person to ever care about this makes it okay. It does not appear that this dealership protects customers information.
This dealership is a bunch of jerks, scammers, and they don't know how to behave
This dealership is a bunch of jerks, scammers, and they don't know how to behave. We bought a car there in August, towards the end of the month, but that doesn't matter. Right from the start, I knew they were pressuring us to buy a car, from the salesman to the finance manager. They claim they can help anyone with any credit situation, but that's a lie! We were there for over 8 hours that day, with the finance manager being rude to us the whole time. He tricked us into thinking we could get the car and keep it, but he was very disrespectful and had no manners. And to make matters worse, we saw employees smacking each other's butts, which is just plain rude and unprofessional.
Long story short, after all the chaos and the staff sexually harassing each other, we finally got the car. But a few days later, the awful finance manager called me and said they needed the car back because I quit my job. We weren't ready to give it up yet, so we tried to find a co-borrower among our friends. But then we found out that the finance manager had lied about running their credit report, causing even more chaos and heartache. In the end, we just gave the car back to the terrible dealership.
Today, we called to speak to someone higher up than those awful finance managers, and we talked to a guy named Steve. He was rude and yelled at us over the phone, saying he would never sell us a car. They didn't want to do business with us anymore, and he didn't care about the sexual harassment going on. What a bunch of jerks! I would never buy another vehicle from this horrible place, and neither should you. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

I keep telling them to put me and my wife on their Do Not Call list, but they keep calling and emailing us. It's been happening since December and now it's January. What should I do?

I had an accident in a loaner car from this dealership (while tryin to buy a car from them, the car wasn't ready to sell cuz it needed a part so they gave me the loaner and didn't ask for insurance cuz they got Fleet insurance and nobody mentioned it). I had insurance on my own car, not on the loaner. Even though it wasn't my fault, the dealership wants to use my deposit for the car (which I know they won't sell me) to pay their deductible, and they won't sell me a car anymore. How is that fair?

I bought a car on 09/10/22, but they haven't sent the title work to the *** or the lending institution
I bought a car on 09/10/22, but they haven't sent the title work to the *** or the lending institution. It seems like the car doesn't even have a *** Title yet. I contacted the dealership, but they just passed me off to the parts department. They took my contact info and sent a text saying "thanks for your inquiry," but that's it. They won't respond to me. And to make matters worse, they added a fake service record to the car's CarFax report on 09/15/2022. It's a running joke at *** that this happens, but believe it or not, other *** actually care if your title/registration is valid. I told them from the start that I needed a car for commuting outside of ***. Clearly, that's not possible right now. Just do your job and send the paperwork.
I traded my car that I got from them in 2018 this past June
I traded my car that I got from them in 2018 this past June . It's now AUGUST. My loan was never paid off for the car I traded in. They already charged me once for a car payment. I called and the worker said, "oh I'm sorry I forgot to tell you to cancel that." Oh, you're sorry for forgetting? No help, never got that back. I'm waiting, calling, and asking, leaving voicemails. NO HELP. Now my credit has been hit almost 100 POINTS due to late car payment. I call the loan, they say, "we're sorry Hyundai never paid off the car loan for the car you traded in, so now you owe over 1,000$ for a car I DO NOT HAVE." I call, NO ANSWER. Now I'm hit on credit and over 1,000$ on a car THEY OWN NOW. And this new car, they never set up. The registration is DUE and is 800$, and I don't even own the car because they never completed the loan.
When I wanted to lease a car from Phil Long Hyundai Motor City, I was hoping to eventually buy it or get a hybrid at the end of the lease
When I wanted to lease a car from Phil Long Hyundai Motor City, I was hoping to eventually buy it or get a hybrid at the end of the lease. However, the dealership straight up lied to us and said they don't offer leases. But when we went back to talk to them again, they told us a different story. They said they make the lease prices so high that it's actually more expensive than buying the car outright. It's all about making more money for them, you know?
Then, when we were in the process of buying the car, they went ahead and applied for loans at a whopping 19 different banks. Now, I know our credit isn't the best, but it's not the worst either. They should have stopped at maybe 3 to 5 banks, and they definitely shouldn't have made so many hard inquiries. They tried to justify it by saying that we signed a document mentioning something about APR, which apparently gives them the right to run our credit as many times as they please. But let me tell you, that document doesn't say anything about that!
Their actions have really messed up my credit even more. We have a whole stack of papers confirming all the hard inquiries and loan applications. And to top it off, we even got a letter from *** Hyundai thanking us for buying or leasing a car. It's clear that they haven't done anything to fix these major issues or make any ethical decisions.
Here's the document they printed out to "prove" that they can pull our credit as many times as they want. But honestly, it doesn't make any sense to me.
We bought a 2022 Hyundai Palisade from a local Hyundai dealership on 2-18-22
We bought a 2022 Hyundai Palisade from a local Hyundai dealership on 2-18-22. The car wasn't on-site and required delivery. The Purchase Agreement listed a REMOTE START under Added Accessories. Our salesman mentioned the 'Chip Shortage' might delay installation until October 2022, to which we agreed. On October 18th, I took the Palisade in for service and inquired about the remote start. I was promised a follow-up call about installation, which didn't occur. I reached out again on November 7th and 22nd, receiving assurances but no action. Despite multiple conversations and assurances, including from the salesman, the service promised has not been fulfilled, and we're still waiting for the remote start we paid for.
I took my car to the local Hyundai service department on August 23rd for warranty work
I took my car to the local Hyundai service department on August 23rd for warranty work. After a 5-month wait to get my car back, the battery was dead, not even the dome light turned on. The service tech seemed indifferent and jump-started the car. I drove around for an hour, stopped at a barber shop, and returned to a dead battery. A friend helped me jump-start it, and I drove home. At home, the car wouldn't start again. The battery was old, and I replaced it, thinking it was due. The car worked fine the next day, but the following day, the new battery was also dead. This issue wasn't present before the warranty repairs. I returned the car to the dealership, and now they're claiming the warranty doesn't cover the full cost, asking for over $1000 to replace the fuse box. They ignored my messages until I threatened legal action. The warranty policy doesn't mention a cost cap, and the issue arose from their service. Moreover, a 9-month repair time is excessive. I've also filed a formal complaint.
