On December 28th, 2023, my account of over 10 years that I have had since the days of PS3 with over 309 games and 9300 trophies was permanently suspended by Sony Interactive Entertainment because the person who was harassing me in my messages for two days and who said my girlfriend was "big and ugly" reported my message, which was akin to a very brainless "your mom" joke, and he then proceeded to message my girlfriend and call her a little boy as well, but instead of him receiving repercussions, I did. I won't lie; this is devastating to me. As someone who was diagnosed with SMA at a very young age and has essentially had my ability to walk slowly degrade until I ended up wheelchair-bound, my PlayStation account was my reprieve and essentially my window to the world. I've supported this company my entire life and spent thousands of dollars to continue supporting them, but when I'm being harassed and my loved ones are being belittled and harassed, I am the one who gets punished. There's no way for me to even begin to calculate the amount of emotional value and real monetary value lost with this heinous injustice. If I have to take a punishment for not allowing someone to tarnish the name of my loved ones and myself, then I will gladly take a 60-day suspension, but I will absolutely not take a permanent suspension laying down. Not when I've invested so much love, loyalty, and money into this company and have in return been given nothing but grief and bans because their moderators are just a bunch of bots that look at one inconsequential message in defense of themselves instead of at the entire picture and let people who actually harass and belittle others off the hook.
