PMR Companies, LLC is a company that my partner and I had some issues with. We fell behind on our rent for March and April because we lost our jobs. Surprisingly, they demanded that we pay for May's rent even though it wasn't even due yet. They didn't bother to leave a notice on our door either. The property manager was extremely rude to us in their emails and didn't provide us with the necessary information about the amount we owed.

On 4/13/22, I sent an email to the property manager, ***, to let them know about a hole in the wall of my apartment. The hole is right under the roof and next to a tree. It seems that squirrels have been using the tree to enter the hole and make their home in the ceiling above my master bedroom. I was told twice that someone would come to fix it soon, but that never happened. To make matters worse, my rent has increased since I reported this issue, and now the property manager is ignoring my emails. I also submitted a maintenance request on PMR's rentcafe website and reached out to the property manager directly. I really hope they resolve this problem before an animal dies up there or causes damage to the wires or something else stupid.

My name is John, and I'm contacting you from Saint Louis, MO. I applied for a 1 bedroom apartment with PMR Companies' property, Oakwood apartments, here in Saint Louis on May 20th. They asked me to bring a $150 money order for a security deposit and a $40 money order for the application fee. Unfortunately, my application got denied, so I couldn't move forward with them. The problem is that I never got my security deposit back, and it's been almost 2 months. They said they would mail it to me, but I haven't received anything. I called the apartments, and they said they would call me back, but nobody called me back. I also called corporate, but nobody returned my calls. I've been waiting patiently, but now I really want all my money back for the inconvenience and unprofessionalism from this company.

June 28, 2022 AND June 30, 2022 at *** Apartments. My car, along with many others, got towed from my place twice in one week for road work. I had to pay $165 and $190 to get it back from the tow yard. It would've been easier if they just moved our cars to a different spot in the parking lot instead of making us pay. They should've given us a heads up by putting a flyer on our doors or knocking to let us know to move our cars. Instead, they sent an email and put up flyers in random places. Me and other residents want to be reimbursed for the money we had to spend on towing. It's not fair that we had to go through all this trouble just because they didn't plan properly.

We decided to move forward in the process even though the first apartment that they first assigned had too many issues to even list because the assistant manager at the time said that they have another unit being worked on right now and they knew that we would be happy with. Paid the deposit and first month's rent totaling 1,635 (includes prorated rent and deposit) and the move in date was set. However, when we inspected the apartment that we were assigned this time, it was NOTHING like the model. The quality of work was, on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the MODEL UNIT, this unit was a 2. It's only that high because the APPLIANCES MATCHED. We decided that we did not want to move there at that point. We asked how and when we would get our 1635 back and was told via check in the mail in 7-14 business days. This was on 10/11/2022. We still haven't received our money and when we call to inquire, we just get "it's been sent". I decided to go up there instead and I'm told about the assistant manager being fired and some other bs that's totally off the subject of my 1635. The manager told us that he will call us in 30 minutes after he does some research, and this was today 11/7/2022. That call never came. I should not have to go through all this to get what's mine. Quite frankly, this is not how business is handled and that place will not be in business long if that continues.

I been living at this address since September. Allll thru the winter I was cold & my heat was not working properly & maintenance/the leasing manager would not do anything about it. I had to buy a heater & even that wouldn’t work so I had to use my stove. My bill was high from regularly using the oven but that’s all I could do because the leasing office totally dodged me and just didn’t care to fix my heat. It is now the summer time & im having the same problem. Mt air has also never worked. When I told them they said “it’s not Hot outside yet so I don’t need air”. When it started to get hot out I literally had to come to them every single day to get my air fixed. ***(the manager) often locked the door so we couldn’t get in to complain. I even have neighbors air not working as well but its nothing we can do. I asked *** to file a grievance and who could I report this complex to over his head and he withholds information so I can’t get in contact with anyone hire than him. They came to fix my air & it worked & blew smoothly for 3 weeks. Now it is not working again. I came to him about it and now it’s been a month & nothing. Still no air. I’m so exhausted/depressed. I went to the leasing office again yesterday and was told my air would be fixed It’s still not fixed. They don’t even report my tickets everytime I come in about my heat/air. I Have asthma & can barely breathe/sleep at night. This is becoming a major health issue & a Nightmare staying in this apartment complex. I now want to stand in front of a Judge & end my lease because I’m just drained from constantly asking to get my air fixed.. please help.

I contacted PMR's President of Management & Operations to help with the problems I was having with the apartments I am currently renting from & she put me in contact with ***. I explained the issues with insulation, frozen pipes, heating issues, repairs, etc & I was only insulted and called a liar in so many words by this ***. I was most insulted when I asked if PMR was willing to release me from my lease since we were having so many issues & was not coming up with a resolution. ***'s suggested that I was trying to get out of paying an lease early termination fee that had already been discussed and resolved with the property manager. *** also insinuated that I needed a payment plan; another insult. *** was very helpful in her emails with providing information, as I was not aware that a 6 month lease was available when I originally inquired about the apartment. She made it very clear that the option was available for 6 months instead of 9 months. The property manager (***) made it very clear to me at the time of inquiry that 9 months was my only option, as 12 months was advertised on the website and I was in the process of building a home. I took my chances when calling just to see if they offered a shorter lease term & *** advised 9 months, she never offered 6 months. I definitely would have opted for 6 months & went month to month, if necessary. *** also provided helpful information, as our pipes were frozen the day after Christmas; the plumber and maintenance man on call advised that multiple units had their pipes frozen but advised that our particular unit was too cold. We had already been having heating issues and complained to *** about the heat/thermostat. Thanks to ***, she advised that our unit was the only one with frozen pipes. That seems like a unit specific issue and not a weather issue or a combination of both.

I emailed the Property Mgr, Supervisor & Vice President of Glenmary Pointe on 2/18 to ask about the Move Out Inspection process. My lease ends on 2/28. Supervisor responded and said I need to clean the apartment and schedule a walkthrough with the Property Manager to return keys and provide a forwarding address. I replied saying the apartment was already cleaned and I hadn't returned the keys yet because of mail, but I would go by to check everything again. On 2/22, I emailed the Property Mgr, Supervisor & Vice President to ask if Tuesday or Wednesday of this week would work for a walkthrough in the late afternoon before the office closes. *** replied that Wednesday between 3-4pm would be good because *** (Property Mgr) works until 1pm on Wednesday. I asked if Tuesday was not available. *** said Tuesday was not available. I said any day this week between 4:30pm to 5pm would be fine. When I first asked about the walkthrough on 2/18, I wanted to do it on a Saturday, but they said it had to be during office hours. *** told me she is at the office until 5pm every day, but the posted office hours are M,W & F 9am to 1pm and T & TH 1pm to 5pm. It seems like they are making this process very difficult and almost impossible for me. *** (Vice President) responded and now says that *** has to be present for the walkthrough. (That is new information) It doesn't matter to me who is present, I just want the walkthrough done so I can get my deposit back. They never replied to my email, so I have no choice because time is running out. The weekend will be here soon and *** has come in on weekends before for leasing issues. It feels like they are discriminating against me because I complained to ComplaintsBoard.com about a different issue with them.
