stolen profile
On Feb 18, 2017 I tried to access my account and I was told my login or password was incorrect though I knew it wasn't. I sent for forgotten password to no avail because I have yet to receive a response. I looked up phone numbers to POF to no avail because it had a message with a full mailbox. I sent messages to [protected]@pof.com to no avail at this point. I have since discovered that my profile has been stolen by someone who changed a few details such as height, where they live, their name, (but not the login in name which is mine), etc. I want my profile back and haven't a clue how mine was stolen from me and now I am locked out. They kept the same login name and all the things I wrote for my profile. I am not finding POF easy to reach, contact, or respond. They are responsible and yet they have no way to reach them.

catfishing / fake profile
This person is going by the name Carlos but his real name is Ben, this is the second time he tried to catfish me I remembered his cell phone number. The user name is r3ally100. Once I got confirmation through a reverse phone number look up site I told him to never contact me again but for other woman would could be a game in this I request an investigation and a termination to his account. His Profile looks very real but if it wasn't for his cell phone number looking familiar I would have continued contact.
harassment from a profiler
I live in Houston, Texas and I have been signed up with Plenty of Fish off and on for over 1 year. I have been harrass by a black male profiler with the page title, hotrodlives for about 1year. I have never met, nor spoken to this man in my life. I have blocked him from my page and he has continue to find ways to reappear on page and send harrassment messages. This man is clearly voilent with a criminal background of assault against women. I have no ideal why he has forcus his relentless harrassment on me. I want this man to be address, investigated, remove from your website. This man is clearly dangerous, if he's harassing me and I never seen, nor spoken are met then its clear what he will do to wo.an on this website he has met. Please address this matter by saving a woman's life from tbis walking time bomb. Thank you

I can't send messages!
If your messages are not being sent, it is likely due to one of the following reasons:
1. The recipient has mail settings restricting you from contact. There may be restrictions you cannot see listed on their profile.
2. You are being blocked by our spam filers for sending the same message to numerous users, or are using potentially bad language. If this happens your profile may temporarily be restricted from sending new messages.
3. Your profile may have been flagged for review and be in quarantine. If you cannot receive messages, add favorites, or are having trouble logging in, please wait 48 hours and try again.
4. Some users specify that they prefer to receive longer first messages. We recommend you writing a longer message if this occurs.
5. Your age is outside of the +/- 14 year contact restrictions (or +9 year restrictions for those under 22.) Please note your cannot send messages outside of these age restrictions
6. You can only send a "first contact" message to 55 new people per 24 hours, so make your first message to a user count! (Please note this limit is only on first contacts, and there is NO LIMIT on how many messages you can send per day, or how many different people you can message per day that you have previously made contact with - so chat as much as you like!)
Why was my account deleted?
POF has 0 tolerance for users who are rude, upload nude or fake pictures, are married, use sexual language in their first email, or break our terms of service in any way. Any user caught doing so is deleted. You may also be deleted if you accumulate a high number of blocks. Users who are deleted may not signup to the service again.

pof is a scam
they will shut down one day
Can you only send messages to people you have liked and they like you back?
I do not know but be very careful with pof it is a joke and 95% of the profiles are fake period
Bonjour,
Je ne peux plus entrer dans mon compte. Auriez-vous la bonté de rectifier la situation. Merci.

I am thankful to have this article. It is very informative and has covered step by step solution about the profile edit and recovery of the password as well as the problems of a message being unsent. It is obvious people will send a message but they should also accept the terms and condition set for them. You can also read Message Limit which is all about the message limit set by Plenty Of Fish.
someone is using my info and pictures
This is a fake page. I submitted the photos sent to me. These are my photos and they are even using my information about my life and kids! I'm guessing they got it from Facebook. I don't have a POF ACCOUNT. MY friend that reported the page told you all it was fake and the response you gave him was if you don't like this person, it can cause you to get deleted. If this page doesn't get deleted, I will take legal action. Thank you for your time.
took my payment and erased my entire account
I registered with POF, upgraded the next day, changed my email on my profile page on the 3rd day and was erased after that. Just completely ghosted my account. Didn't even have record of my email address, which is [protected]@gmail.com. I am trying to contact all others that POF has screwed over and get a class action going. There is no number to contact anyone and you ignore all emails. This is unacceptable. I have emails showing the original registration and challenge you to find that account. I will not let this go.
money taken out of my account that shouldn't have been I don't even have an account!
Hello,
I have sent this to several different email addresses with no response. I need someone to get back to me ASAP as everyday I'm being charged £6 because you have taken money out of my account that you shouldn't have and I'm now overdrawn with no money for electric, dinner, or fuel to get home from work!. So the longer you take to get back to me the more money you are going to have to pay me back as I'm not paying the £6 a day as its your fault I'm overdrawn because you have stolen at least £80 out of my account !.
I need someone to reply to my emails or call me immediately on [protected].
Regards
Cali Mckevitt
fake profile with stolen pic
I have contacted every number and email that I have found and left a comment on every board I find, I have also left my contact information as well on everyone of them, I have been trying to get this taken care of since 10:30 - 11:00 am. Someone had made a profile with you and is using a pic of me that I knew nothing about until my brother seen it and sent me the link. I am so embarrassed and sick that this has happened, I have never used or been on one of these sites. I want this profile and my picture removed please .
I hope this problem gets taken care of quickly and I am taking steps to find out who did this and pursue whatever legal options I have.
I have attached a pic of the profile with my picture that is being used.
fake profile made
My name is Dawn Mayfield I had an account with Plenty of Fish for a bit and I met someone so I deleted it the account. He came across another account with my picture and under the name Dawnroberts115. I never created this account and need to see about getting it removed as soon as possible. Please help me resolve this as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.
keeps saying it's free but it's not
It used to be free, they have to stop advertising free, they are not free. Do they think that we are all that desperate to pay? There are others out there that are free, like connecting singles. I don't know how long they will remain free, but they are free as of november 2016. Just be ware of all the scammers. There's tons of them on free sites and paid ones. Pay special attention to this pic I uploaded and circled in red. It says you never have to pay to e mail someone. Liars! Big time false advertising.
My son signed up because it stated that it is free but when he tried to answer the emails then they tried to charge him so it is false advertizing this is wrong I and going to put it on face book that it is not free
Can you provide a picture of where it is asking you to pay to send the email? They do offer upgraded memberships that have a cost associated but it should not affect messaging.
worst site ever!
I can't cancel my account and have no idea what to do! I hate this website, PlentyOfFish is full of scammers and clowns, there aren't people there who are in search of a relationship. There are many fake profiles there made by cheaters who just want to make fun of others!
I decided to unsubscribe, so I contacted customer support and asked them to close my account but they never did that! I need their help, but they are ignoring me! Worst site ever!
charging for services
I have not been a member of pof for a long time yet every 2 or 3 months they charge me $38.70. Sometimes they take this amount out twice in a matter of days.
I have yried emailing them on many occassions but no response.
As this is an ongoing problem, I do not know who to get to help me.
I want my money back from them.
Are you able to help me please?
dating scam / internet fraud
About a month ago I was contacted by a POF member ; he wooed me for three weeks until he had me comfortable enough to do something for him; he gave me banking info to transfer a large sum of money ($540, 000) from an offshore account to Turkey (of all places). I did it but immediately afterward I got the feeling that I may have done something illegal. The following day he wanted me to do it again (same amount of money, same receiver of funds). I was unable to do it because bank put a hold on account and removed the "link" to make a transfer. The very next day he asked me if I could help him out on the construction project he was doing in Turkey; asked me to send him $50k and when the project was finished he would pay me back when he came back to US (me). Well, I was born but not yesterday and did not do it. I think that there are some women out there so desperate for love that they may fall prey to this scam. I blocked his phone numbers immediately but was unable to block him texting me; he made a last ditch effort to persuade me to send him money. I stood up to him this time and told him I would not send him any amount of money for any reason and suddenly the conversation went from love to "shove your money up your ###" and he hung up. Hopefully he will not try to reconnect with me. I turned his scheme into both the FTC & FBI. Ladies*****PLEASE don't fall for a scam like this or anything similar. First red flag is that he had to fly to Canada, Turkey, etc. and he will be back to be in my arms in a couple of weeks. DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO SUCH SCAMS. I consider myself to be an intelligent woman with street smarts, but this is much different and you can be swallowed up into it before you know it!
refund, charges that I was not aware of
POF dating website is the biggest scam dating website I've ever known. I did not realize the crazy amount that it cost. As soon as I seen it, which was less then 24 hours later, that I did, I called, emailed for a refund. I gave them all the information of my bank, my name, my profile name, last 4 digits on my credit card twice and the still won't give me my money back. So, now I'm, I've filed a suit and called, emailed the better business bureau in there country. I won't stop till they are shut down and till I die. I WILL FIGHT TILL THE DAY I DIE!
beware of user looking for women with money
TheKingofPrussia is a POF user in PA who pretends to be educated and has his own money when in fact he is looking for an educated and established woman to prey upon. He has been on POF under previous users Wick303 and Mzg303. He's conned wonen out of thousands of dollars by pretending to be in a relationship but it's all an act. He is angry and bitter over his divorce 8 years ago and uses POF to take it out on women by wooing them and then using them to support him financially. He does not have a college degree as his profile claims, any friends or interests. His name is Glenn Wicker and he is from Millville, NJ. Be careful and don't be fooled by the act, it's all designed to make women feel bad for him and he uses their vulnerability and compassion to take their money. Scam artist is an understatement.
Profile was deactivated by POF as profile was deceptive and intended to scam women out of money. User continued to show up in match view and user was looking for women who are educated and established financially.
huntingapredator.com blackmail scam
Warning, there is an illegitimate child predator hunting group baiting scamming, public shaming then blackmailing men operating on the site plenty of fish. This anonymous group of criminals out of long Island N.Y. post fake profiles of women from the age of 18 to 26. The profiles usually contain only one picture and will show up in a New York area search. From what I researched about them, they initiate contact only to sometimes reveal they(the decoy) is a girl of 14 years of age (in my case the fictitious person remained 26 until changed later on their site). At that point of contact if one continues to engage them, the chat log is being screen shot. For further use on their site and evidence against you. Usually the conversation transfers to text messaging or Kik which logs are also screenshot to use against you. The men usually ask for pictures several time of the”girl” and none are given. Usually “she” will send a picture of something “she” colored and ask you for one back only to humiliate you further. BEWARE: the decoy will ask you for very specific information such as full name, address, occupation, employer and other details about your personal life to substantiate you are who you say you are. At this point, they have your name, phone number, social networks and emails. Short time after you will receive an anonymous Skyped phone call, the will call several times back to back. When you get on the phone they will try to scare you into a confession/ admission of guilt. They will even fool you into thinking everything will be worked out without going to court. Oops, too late at this point, the whole conversation has been recorded to used against you ( as it was for me, or atleast they tried). The conversations will be uploaded to Speaker, Sound cloud and YouTube. In my case, I received another call not recorded or posted suggesting I make a donation to have my photos and fake and altered chat logs removed. HOWEVER, more disturbing, your entire “case” will be posted to their site with tags to your name, email and other associated accounts. That means when someone Googles your name, you will show up as a child predator. And they got you. If you email them it will still be used against you unless you pay them or “make a donation” I say shame on you to Plentyoffish.com for allowing this.
Be warned,
Ernest Joyner
They are looting money by hacking a pof account
I have used pof on several occasions to meet people and had an upgraded account. My profile is deleted and they are still taking money out of my account, 4 times in November I have emailed them many times but they apparently don't give a crap about ripping people off.
scams
I was on Plenty of Fish for a couple of years and met a lot of scammers. I got used to their games so that I could detect them early on. Recently, I met a scammer, who pretended that he was really nice and liked me. I knew it was too good to be true. He sent me messages on Plenty of Fish, then he asked if I had been talking to anyone else on there. I told him I came across a couple of scammers. He almost immediately left the site, so I knew that he was one. He told me a lie about his exwife wanting to get back together. Then he was calling me every other day and pretending to like me. Two days ago, he left me a message with insulting comments and told me that he had my personal information, so I better not contact him again. I reported him to law enforcement.
There are psychopaths and scammers on POF and other dating sites, it's true. But I've actually met a few nice people, too. I have mixed feelings about online dating sites, but I'm still on several of them. I also screen very carefully. I've reported harassers and stalkers a few times. But to this day, I have 2 good friends I met on POF that I've been friends with 3 years. I have one friend I met on OK Cupid that I've been friends with for 4 years. As for dating, I haven't had great luck, but I wouldn't call them actual scammers. Unfortunately, online dating sites appear to draw a lot of disordered types. Some are trying to date multiple people and lying about it. I wouldn't exactly call it a scam, but it certainly borders on it.
