I live in Bridgewater, NS, Canada. Every other courier service that delivers to my home, come to the door, ring the bell or knock, and deliver the item. Purolator regularly just drops the packages at the front of my house.
This past Friday was the worst yet. I had ordered a 65" TV online. Obviously a fragile, expensive item, with a high risk of someone stealing it. My wife was home, waiting fr the delivery. However the Purolator delivery person, backs into the driveway, opens the truck doors, pulls theTV out and leaves it at the front of the house, at the top of the driveway. My driveway is maybe 25' long, so not far from the road.
He didn't bring it to the door. He didn't even knock to let anyone know the TV was there. It's just lucky that my wife was watching for him. She meanwhile is home with a heart issue, now has to drag this TV up the walkway, up onto the deck, and into the house. The TV is an LED and doesn't weigh more than 30 lbs. So for a courier, not too bad. For a woman with a heart issue, sciatica, and shoulder issues, she ended up hurting herself doing his job.
Desired outcome: Purolator needs to educate or retrain their delivery people. Because they're the final leg of the delivery service. If they aren't crossing the finish line, then Purolator isn't winning customers. I avoid using them at all costs.
