Misleading Webinar: SamCart's PayPal Credit Option Not Available
I was super pumped to start using SamCart after watching a webinar. The guy, Brain, was talking about how you could use PayPal to pay for stuff and even spread out the payments over six months. I was like, "heck yeah, sign me up!" I figured it would be a great way to start making some money and then pay off the payments as I went along.
But then, when I tried to sign up for PayPal credit, I got denied. I was like, "what the heck, man?" So I reached out to SamCart customer service to see what was up. They told me that Brain had made a mistake on the webinar and that PayPal credit wasn't actually an option. I was pretty bummed out about it, to be honest.
I mean, I get that mistakes happen and all, but it seems like if you're gonna advertise something, you should be able to follow through on it. It's not like I was asking for anything crazy, just to be able to spread out my payments a little bit. But nope, I had to pay in full.
Overall, I'm still using SamCart and it's been pretty good so far. But I do wish they had been able to honor what they advertised. It just seems like the right thing to do, you know?

I bought the SamCart course builder last year, thinking it would be a piece of cake to create my own course. They told me it would only take 14 days to build my course and that it was a one-time fee. But let me tell you, that was a big fat lie! It took me way more than 14 days just to go through all the training videos. And let me tell you, this is not a simple course builder. You have to film a lot of videos of yourself teaching the course, which requires video equipment and editing skills. I didn't have any of that, and I didn't know anything about it.
After struggling for six months and not being able to get it done, I gave up and chalked it up to a bad purchase. But now they want to charge me $349 to renew for another year, which is not what I agreed to. I thought I was paying a one-time fee! I haven't even used their software since I haven't finished the training videos, and now they won't even give me my money back.
I want to warn as many people as possible not to fall for their sales pitch like I did! There are much easier and more supportive platforms out there. SamCart offers no support other than the training videos you receive. If you're already familiar with how to create a course, maybe this would work for you. I tried out SamCart a while back, but ended up deactivating my trial account last November. They refunded me the $99 I spent, which was nice. However, a few months later in February, I started getting billed $199 a month by SamCart without my permission or any notification. I didn't even notice until now, more than 7 months later. If they don't give me back the $1400 they took from me, I'm going to take legal action and file a chargeback.
Update: It turns out there were actually nine fraudulent charges of $199 each. I didn't notice them at first because Chase bank cut off my online banking access while I was out of the country due to their (very stupid) security policies. I only recently got back in the country and saw the money that was stolen from my account.
When I asked Nicole and Kyra Lepone Mitchell from SamCart for proof that I had authorized the charges, or even any proof that I was aware my account was active again, they just said that I had inquired about the process of restarting it at one point, but never actually did it. Apparently, that was enough for them to start billing me without my consent or any notification.
Kyra was a bit nicer about it and refunded me three of the nine charges, but that still leaves about $1200 in stolen funds. She also suggested that I file a report with the Better Business Bureau and a chargeback with my bank. I looked into it and saw that there have been 8 other cases filed against SamCart with the BBB. Plus, several people have reached out to me with similar stories of fraud and scams by SamCart. Some are even calling them "ScamCart" now.
After I wrote a negative review on their Facebook business page, they blocked me (and other former clients who were also defrauded and speaking out about it). Then, within 24 hours, five clearly fake positive reviews popped up on their page. This was after months of no positive reviews. A lot of us who were scammed by SamCart have come together to share our stories on https://www.samcart-scam.com/.
I strongly advise anyone thinking about trying out SamCart, even for a free trial, to look into all the reports of fraud and false advertising. I'll update this review if I ever get my money back from them. If I have to go through my bank to get it, this review will stay up forever. In September , I was again charged $349.00 for the program that I did not want or use. I disputed the charge and my credit card company issued a credit to my account while they investigated my claim. SamCart informed my credit card company that I did not officially cancel my contract. The $349.00 was again applied to my credit card.
