Scottish Power Energy Retail Customer Service

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you to raise an issue about: Electricity Supply

The issue that I have experienced was: Today I called to around 6:40 pm on [protected], asking for I want to discuss my meter issue.I was on hold around 55 mints and in the end customer Services dropped my call.

It occurred on: 17/03/2020

This meant that I change electricity from British Gas to Scottish power because British Gas are very expensive and I was told Scottish Power is cheaper, but I recharge my key on 11/03/2020 £30.00, and today 17/03/2020 and I got only £16.64 in my key WHY?

I need refund

I look forward to your prompt response on this matter. As recommended by Trading Standards, I would like to keep a complete record of my case, so please reply to this email address.

Yours faithfully,

Scottish Power Energy Retail most expensive electric and gas. dodgy sales people

I paid 3127.58 for a year with Scottish Power for a small 2 bedroom house. When i moved from my old house using british gas, i paid 2348.66 and it was a 3 bedroom house, which was much larger. I paid the bill to avoid arguing with these people as it just goes around in circles. My advice is choose the bigger, well established energy and gas providers and look at all the reviews online. I learnt my lesson here. Stay Away!

PS: The sales guys fool you into these deals!

Scottish Power Energy Retail Faking readings

I created a website for this: http://gaz.lezell.fr/story.htm
Basically they created a bill with an false reading and the associated bill of over £1200 (+£200 that I have already paid in extra). They use the estimated value as an actual value. I sent them multiple mails (no answer). They phoned me asking to pay. I've made a video on the website showing my meter reading. They should know I would notice I am not a factory using mainly gaz (they want to make me believe I use more than 7376.41kWh a month). Video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUSkPMrt6wc. Scottish Power Energy Retail Stay away from this one

For over a decade I’ve had my electricity with Scottish Power. I pay every bill when I get it – might have had one or two slightly late payments over the years but apart from that have never been in arrears. When I got home from work one day there were three envelopes in from Scottish Power. One contained a bill for nearly two thousand pounds! And the ‘breakdown’ of charges was so long that it was split between the other two envelopes! I couldn’t make head or tail of it, but it looked like it was revising my charges going back for years. I wrote a lengthy complaint letter to their customer services department, explaining that I didn’t understand what the bill meant and why it was so high – and ultimately there was no way I could pay it (I’m on quite a low salary and don’t really have much in the way of savings). When I got their reply it was gobbledygook.

As near as I can make out, at some point the meter has been read incorrectly, or recorded incorrectly, or something, but whatever the reason they were adamant that I owed that amount. As a ‘gesture of goodwill’ though, they reduced the amount owed by 25%, and agreed for an affordable weekly payment plan for the remainder.

I’m really not happy with this as I still don’t really understand why I owe so much, and it seems I am just expected to take their word for it!

I want the company to contact me and to investigate these charges. Then I want them to explain clearly to me how the charges have arisen.

Scottish Power Energy Retail Prices

I feel very unhappy with Scottish Power. The price rise they have announced cannot be justified and worries me during what is still a poor economic climate. This announcement has come a day after I contacted the company regarding my bill. At the last bill my payments were increased from £60 to £80 (dual fuel). I asked if they would reassess this increase as I feel it is excessive and difficult to afford. The answer was prompt-they have 'kindly' reassessed my usage and my new payment will be £85! I am afaraid to contact them again in case they increase payment further. I wish to cancel my account and switch to a new energy supplier but am in a contract until July. I am hoping that there are no cancellation fees.

I agree to your complaint every time i ring scottish power about my bill they dont try to help they just raise it, there great at doing that as for your bill being exspensive though at costing you £80 my bill for gas and electric is £111 a month, you may think I am an excessive user but I am not infact my gas is permanently switched off at the moment through the summer months, I went on scottish power because my carers at Humbercare (social services care) told me they where cheap, there definately not.

I was thinking the same thing today when i heard this news. Its funny when the price of fuel goes up they are very quick to put their prices up but when the cost of fuel fell they didnt pass these savings onto the customer, using the excuse they where still using the more expensive fuel. So when exactly are they going to use the cheaper fuel? Maybe OFGEM need to look into things again, any maybe do a proper job. I pay a set amount each month my DD so the price rises dont normally hit me straight away but for both my gas and electricity and pay nearly £100 so with this 19% increase thats another £19 im going to have to find each month, my income hasnt gone up. And also they mentioned the cost of food going up? Maybe the government could help out and lose the 5% vat on fuel. I always thought VAT was put onto luxury items, didnt know having heat and light was a luxury in 2011.

Scottish Power Energy Retail Overcharged

I changed supplier to Scottish Power in October 2008. I received a letter stating that my monthly payments would be £72 per month. This figure was made up by £27.02 for gas and £44.98 for electricity. October and November payment was deducted from my account @£72 each month. From December the deduction from my account has risen to £142 per month. I have emailed Scottish Power for a detailed explanation re the increase but have been unable to obtain a satisfactory reply.

I would like to know why my payments have been doubled and receive an explanation as to why Scottish Power fails so miserably in communicating with its customers.

Scottish Power Energy Retail Poor service

As they always do call you and explain that they are the best company with the best customer service blah blah blah... Cheapest rates blah blah blah. So I transfered from NPower as the service that I had received from them was very poor. ( I am still awaiting the final bill from them).

At first I was very impressed with the internet service that I had been getting from them. I kept entering the meter readings in the system and it became apparent that I was being over charged or that the meter was faulty. So I wrote to them via email and had a phone call 6 days later. Mary explained that I was entering the readings in correct and that there was nothing wrong with my meter! I asked for someone to come and have a look at it and got told that this would cost me £50.00 even though it is there meter!

I had to stop my direct debits as they kept increasing them and I was advised to pay £133 per month for electric in a 3 bedroom house that has very little electric used in it.

Finally I had an email back from them saying that someone would be at my house on saturday 14th March 9am - 1pm to look at the meter, they turned up at 8.10am in the morning when I was not at the house and did not return. Since this I keep having demands to pay the outstanding money. I keep explaining that I will not pay any money until they come and sort the meter.

The meter charges me day electricity on the evening rate and night on the day! They keep telling that this is correct. Give me strenght.

So at the present moment I am at stale mate as I can not get through to them on the phone as they are always busy dealing with other customers.

My have various complaint numbers as I have complained so many times.

Was getting supplied by hydro for a year, guy from scottish power came along and quoted a cheaper monthly rate since we were old customers (when ? 199something and was only with them for a short time) ok i saved about £20 a month. three month later a letter hit the doorstep with a rise from £62 to £142, ok i know prices have risen but twice the amount, nah. got on the blower to the hydro and was welcomed back with opened arms and now paying £98 which is more reasonable and reflects what we should be paying. now ive got £42 that i had to pay and £130 for the energy. best thing is we were £150 in credit when we used hydro ! moral of the story - don't listen to the swines and make your own mind up even if the guy reckoned he knew the hearts team from the late nineties, or ally mccoist or neill len...### !

Scottish Power Energy Retail Account switching

I own five properties in the Nottingham area. This week I have received called from tenants in three of the houses stating that their energy supplier has been changed from eOn to Scottish Power. Neither myself nor the tenants have requested this.

Scottish Power is telling me this is all being requested online but they wont tell me who is doing it. None of my tenants are aware of the addresses of the other properties. Has anyone else experienced an unsolicited switch to Scottish Power?

Cheers
