Don't buy from this company!! as close to a scam as it gets
I bought a Herman Miller from them; in the advertisement it is not clear that is second hand; even if you can find the small print, it is misleading as the product I received was not "brand new condition" as they claim!
-Four months to deliver the product! (after many emails complaining)
-Wrong color sent (ordered Platinum Mineral, arrived Black color)
-Misleading order form (not easy to see that is a worn out second hand product)
-When finally arrived, the chair had broken parts, scratches all around and rusted bolts.
Recommendation: STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY: SEATING MIND
Disappointing Experience with Seating Mind: Refurbished Aeron Chair Review
I recently made a purchase from Seating Mind, and I must say that I was quite disappointed with the product and the overall experience. I ordered a refurbished Aeron chair, which I assumed would be in decent condition, but what I received was far from it. The chair was scuffed up and uncomfortable, and it was delivered in a box that looked like it had been through a warzone. The wheel was sticking out of the box, and the chair itself was loose inside with only one sheet of bubble wrap that had shifted during shipping and was not even covering the chair. There were no instructions in the box, which made it even more frustrating. To make matters worse, the chair was delivered more than a month after I ordered it.
As for the chair itself, it was dusty and scuffed, and it had only one lever for up/down and a knob adjustment that didn't seem to do anything. The springs for the back were so loose that I had to sit on the front of the chair to keep from falling back to a position that required me to reach for the keyboard. I paid a whopping $557 for this chair, and I cannot help but think that it was returned after being used for years and then shoved in a box and sent to me without any "refurbishing."
After almost ten back-and-forth messages with the company, they agreed to give me a full refund and waive the restocking fee. However, I had to significantly repair the box to make it usable, and I had to pay for a UPS pickup. Finally, after three weeks, I received a refund, but it was $111 less than what I paid. When I emailed the company requesting a "FULL" refund, they apologized but said that there was a "significant cost involved in restocking" (20%!). I think they are not considering the cost of aggravation and effort to rid myself of a substandard product. I also think they need to reconsider how much they are paying to whoever it is that sent the item. Their work is shoddy, and I doubt the chair will be treated with any respect during "restocking" (imagine it being thrown into a pile of "refurbished" chairs). I feel like I may as well have just sent them a check for $111 to avoid this whole unpleasant experience.
Seating Mind: Questionable Service, Dubious Reviews, and Misleading Ads
It's already been a month since I've placed my order at Seating Mind and still, I haven't received anything. I've only received one message from them since then, leaving me skeptical about whether or not I'll be able to get a chair in brand new condition as advertised or even a refund without having to confront them about it. I've checked the reviews on this site and they seem to be contrasting. I highly suspect that the majority of the positive feedback are not real. It appears that many customers, like myself, have been left in the dark while attempting to set up an adequate workspace from home. This is quite disconcerting and I empathize with others who have spent their time and money only to face this problem. I will continue to update this review as the situation unfolds.
In addition to my previous review, I've noticed that Seatingmind has been keeping a close eye on the feedback on TrustPilot.com. They've responded to my review on there, but I'm yet to receive any personal communication regarding my order. I requested a complete refund and cancellation of my order, but I've received no reply regarding this matter. I will provide any additional updates if they decide to take a more direct approach and get in touch with me.
In conclusion, I would also urge anyone reading this to check out the website BBB.org, where 27 complaints have been posted against Seatingmind. Furthermore, the response to my review implies that I knowingly bought a reconditioned chair, which is not true. They advertised the item as a sale, with no mention of any prior refurbishment. I thought I was getting a brand new chair, but unfortunately that was not the case.
Seating Mind Review: Disappointing Experience with "Refurbished" Chairs
Wow! My experience at Seating Mind has been disappointin' to say the least! I ordered two chairs and it took more than a month for one of 'em to arrive. And when it finally got to my office, I was appalled at the state of the so-called "refurbished" chairs. The plastic on the arms was all scratched up, the seat was stained and completely flat, like sittin' on a wooden board. The back of the seat was covered in years worth of dirt and dust, and the wheels were all scratched up and dirty from the box. I mean, c'mon, if you're gonna call somethin' "refurbished," at least make an effort to clean it up!
And to make matters worse, I still haven't received the other chair I ordered. Five o'clock has come and gone, and still nothin'. I wouldn't be surprised if that chair is in the same sorry state as the first one. This company really needs to get its act together. If you're lookin' for clean, comfortable chairs, look elsewhere. I shoulda just gone to Staples and bought a new one for a third of the price. Save yourself the trouble and don't waste your time with Seating Mind.
Seating Mind Review: False Advertising and Terrible Customer Service
Ok, folks, let me tell you about the big fiasco that I went through with Seating Mind. First off, let me just say, their website is pretty, pretty pretty. So, I went ahead and bought a chair from them. The site said that it was leather and there was even a $200 price difference for the leather material. You know the saying, "you get what you pay for"? Well, in this case, it wasn't true. At all!
So, the chair arrived one day, and the box looked like it had been through the mill. It was hanging together by tape and looked like it had already been destroyed and then used one more time for my delivery. When I opened the box, I was greeted with a chair that wasn't even close to what I ordered. It was cloth! I couldn't believe it. I mean, I had paid $699 for the chair, and it wasn't even made of the material that I wanted.
Naturally, I reached out to their customer service. What did I get in return? An automated response. That's right, folks. One month later, and still no answer from their customer service. Talk about bad service! Absolutely terrible!
I then decided to take a closer look at their website reviews. Well, let's just say that they seemed to be cherry-picking their reviews, if you know what I mean. I mean, come on. Who does that? Then, I decided to google "Seating Mind reviews" and, boy, was I in for a surprise. There were so many negative reviews. So, at this point, I knew I was dealing with a company that was not honest and would do anything to rip people off.
I just want to say that people like that get what's coming to them. Karma exists folks, and I am sure that they will get theirs in the end. As for me, I will never buy from them again, and I will be sure to let others know about my experience with them. From now on, I'm going to buy products from the actual vendor, rather than rolling the dice with some scam company like Seating Mind.
WARNING: DON'T BUY FROM SEATING MIND - THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I gotta tell ya, Seating Mind is a bunch of hooey. They gots lotsa reviews with only 1 or 2 stars, ya gotta read 'em all to get the real scoop. And don't go thinkin' they sorted out their act just because they responded to some BBB reviews, 'cause it don't seem like they actually fixed anything.
So me and the gang needed some chairs for our office back in 2018, and we ordered from Seating Mind. Let me tell ya, it was a fiasco. It took 'em a whole THREE months just to ship 'em out, and then they took another month to actually get delivered to us. And when we finally gets 'em, they're all scratched up, broken, and the arms were all loose or cracked. We asked for new arms, but they just kept sendin' us the wrong dang ones. And then they just stopped talkin' to us altogether! When we finally does hear from 'em, they're all short and unhelpful. They don't pick up phones neither - don't even bother tryin'. And they's always sendin' out automatic emails sayin' they're out of office for some crazy holiday or another. They even asked us to make a stupid video and upload it to YouTube to prove our chairs were broke (couldn't just use a regular ol' picture, could they?). And even with all that, they still ain't fixin' their mistakes and sending out replacements!
I reckon they just tryin' to run us all around in circles so we gets too tired to fight 'em anymore. But don't give up, folks! I recommend you put in a claim with your credit card company to get your money back, 'cause these Seating Mind folks don't give a hoot about customer service. And the best advice? Don't order from 'em in the first place! Beware, y'all!
Warning: Stay Away from Seatingmind - Nightmare Experience Ahead
I'm warning you, don't go anywhere near Seatingmind! I'm actually in shock reading all these good reviews, it's like we're dealing with different companies. Before buying anything from Seatingmind, I highly recommend you do your research on other review websites. They'll hit you with a restocking fee no matter what, so beware of that one too. I made the mistake of ordering 2 chairs from them this Spring. Mistake #1, they only sent one! Then, mistake #2, the chair they did send had the wrong base, and I had paid for an upgrade I didn't get. And the ultimate mistake #3, the chair was so scratched and beaten up, it was clear that they didn't refurbish it at all.
So I emailed the company with pictures of the chair, and they sent me a shipping label to return it. They then refunded me for the chair that never even shipped, but with only a partial reimbursement for the other one. What the heck is that about?! According to Seatingmind, they refunded me less a 20% service fee for their team to go through the packaging, check it's suitable for resale, and repack it. Why should I pay a service fee for a defective product they sent me? That's so unfair! I should get a full refund, not only a partial one.
I've sent over 20 emails to Seatingmind since then, and they just completely ignored me. (Order 21952, in case you were interested.) What a nightmare experience! Don't even think about buying from Seatingmind until you check out other reviews. Trust me, you'll see lots of bad ones.
Seatingmind - Not Worth Your Time or Money: A Review
This company is not worth your time or money, let me tell you that! I placed an order for a slick new office chair for my home on March 27th, and I got a confirmation email later that day for my order and the extra Rollerblade Casters I wanted. The tracking information showed that my package was printed and on its way to me with a delivery date about a week in advance. I thought this was great, but little did I know that this was just the beginning of a never-ending headache.
A few days later I received an email asking for feedback on the order, which I filled out, asking where my chair was since I still had not received it. I got a response but was told to email orders at Seatingmind dot com to get help. So I emailed them, telling them that I placed my order ten days ago and that I was curious about the status of my chair. I was later copied on an email asking someone named "Abe" to check on the order and update me. Abe said that my order would ship soon, but I had yet to receive it.
Finally, my package arrived at FedEx on April 7th and I got my order on April 10th. However, when I opened it, I was shocked to see that the chair was fully assembled and packed in two boxes taped together because the boxes were too small. To make matters worse, there was no information about the chair at all, no tags, no plastic protective covering, and no sign of the casters I paid for. I contacted the company again about the missing casters, but I was ignored.
It wasn't until April 14th when I took a closer look at my chair and noticed that one arm was loose, and the plastic structure underneath was broken off and missing. At that point, I realized that the chair was not even new, and it was in bad condition. To make matters worse, a screw under the seat on the back was missing too. I contacted the company yet again, letting them know that I was unhappy and wanted my money back. It's been three days since I contacted them again, and I still haven't had a response. When I get my money back, I will never deal with them again.
SeatingMind.com Review: Unprofessional, Shady, and Not Worth the Hassle
Seatingmind.com is not a company I would recommend. I tried to order a Size C Herman Miller chair and paid extra for a headrest and lumbar pad, but after waiting 4-5 weeks for my package to arrive, I realized something was wrong. When it finally arrived, I found out that I received a Size B chair instead which was much smaller than what I had ordered and paid extra for. To add insult to injury, they also neglected to include the headrest and lumbar pillow that I had paid extra for!
I contacted them right away to make arrangements for the return, but instead of taking care of my concerns, they tried to convince me to keep the wrong chair for a discount. I was amazed at their lack of professionalism.
After a lot of back and forth, I had to arrange for FedEx to pick up the wrong chair and send it back to them myself. But even after they received the chair back, they only refunded me 75% of my order. I had to complain once more and threaten to leave negative reviews before they agreed to give me a full refund.
Despite this promise, it has been three weeks and I have yet to receive my money back. Not only did I pay extra for the chair, but I also spent months stressing out, arguing, calling, and emailing them for a refund. The prices may seem attractive, but the headaches are just not worth it.
I reached out to them multiple times and gave them a chance to rectify the situation before I went public with my negative reviews, but they didn't bother to respond. In my opinion, this company is shady, unprofessional, and cannot be trusted. Save yourself the headache and purchase your furniture from a more trustworthy source!
Seating Mind Review: Don't Be Fooled By Fancy Photos and Big Words
What's the deal with Seating Mind? Honestly, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They parade around fancy photos of their chairs and use big words to describe their refurbished products, but in reality, it's all just a bunch of mumbo jumbo. I recently purchased a chair from them and was extremely disappointed. When I received it, it was covered in grime and looked like it had been run over by a truck. The soiled seat and oily mesh backing were enough to make me never want to sit in it again. I was under the impression that I was buying a brand new chair, but what I got was far from it.
I ordered my chair on August 30th and was told it would be delivered on September 7th. They missed the delivery date and gave me a bunch of excuses for why it wasn't shipped until September 18th. Plus, they had the audacity to send me a "Review Products You Received" email on the 7th, even though I didn't receive the product until 11 days later. When I finally tried to rate them, the link was expired, surprise, surprise.
According to their website, the chair was supposed to go through a "multi-point inspection" and look and feel brand new, but clearly no one attempted to clean it. The metal surfaces were covered in dust and the rollers didn't even roll. What a joke. If you're considering buying furniture from Seating Mind, my advice to you is to reconsider. Don't waste your time, effort, and money on a company that clearly doesn't care about their customers or the quality of their products. You've been warned.
Unprofessional and Dishonest: Our Seating Mind Chair Review
So we decided to order some chairs off of Seating Mind online, we ordered a grand total of six chairs, one of them was ordered by itself and the other five were ordered together. Now, we made sure to use the exact same SKU number, description, and photo of the first chair that we ordered when we made our second order. Before we placed our order for the second batch of chairs, we contacted Seating Mind to confirm that the chairs would be the exact same that we received with our first order.
When our second order arrived, it was immediately apparent that these five chairs were completely different from the first one we received. They were missing parts and had a completely different color. I reached out to Seating Mind and sent them side-by-side photos of the chairs, pointing out the missing parts. That's when I was given the old "the warehouse made a mistake" excuse, which I didn't buy for a second.
I told them that we had no idea that the first chair was an upgraded model since the photo matched what we received and were looking for. All we wanted was the same item that we ordered the second time. They kept giving me different links to photos and descriptions, trying to make it seem like the mistake was on our end. I kept sending them screenshots with timestamps as proof that they were the ones trying to cover up their mistake.
I even tried to find the owner/CEO of the company on LinkedIn, and when I reached out to who I thought was the owner, their Photo mysteriously disappeared. It took weeks of trying to call Seating Mind before I finally got through to a live person. When I asked to speak with the owner/CEO, I was told that Jacob Kellner was the manager.
He refused to call me to discuss the matter and instead sent me an email telling me to pack up the chairs and ship them back for a full refund. But we didn't want that; we wanted what we thought we were paying for from the beginning. We ended up paying $280 more for a whole lot less of a chair and thought that Seating Mind was extremely unprofessional, dishonest, and made excuses.
We no longer trusted them to hold up their end of the deal that once they received the chairs back, we would be reimbursed. So, we offered some suggestions to make things right. We suggested that instead of them losing out on shipping costs and now having to sell these as used, they just send us a sixth chair and call it even or just send us the $280 we overpaid due to their false advertising or replace the 5 chairs with the first chair type we received. To this day, they have refused to make things right and we're extremely disappointed.
Seating Mind Review: A Nightmare Experience with Chair Purchase and Customer Service
I ordered a Haworth X99 chair from Seating Mind in 2018, and it was a total nightmare. They had the chair listed on their website, but when I contacted them a month later, they said they didn't have it anymore. I couldn't understand why they didn't remove it from the site or pull it from their inventory once I paid for it. I ended up paying more for a teal Herman Miller Aeron chair, which I never received. Instead, they sent me a black one a month later.
It seems like Seating Mind doesn't care about what their customers order. They simply send you whatever they want, or not send anything at all. I don't think their website and inventory are linked, and there's no system in place to ensure that the inventory is transmitted to the shipping department. It's like they're just selling chairs out of the back of their trucks.
To make things worse, the second chair I received was disassembled and has never worked properly. The forward tilt doesn't work, and the chair is too far back, making it uncomfortable and unusable. I should have returned it immediately, but I didn't because of some health issues. I tried to make it work by hiring handymen, but to no avail.
I emailed Seating Mind about the faulty chair, but I never got a satisfactory response. I feel cheated and ill-used. I wouldn't recommend Seating Mind to anyone. I've spent over $500 and still don't have a usable chair. The only good thing about Seating Mind is the first chair we received in 2017, which was great. It's a shame that they can't maintain consistent quality and customer service.
If you're considering Seating Mind, think twice. You may end up getting something you didn't order, or worse, nothing at all. It's not worth the hassle and frustration. I've learned my lesson and will be sticking to more reputable brands like Herman Miller in the future.

Disappointing Service from Seating Mind: Long Wait Times and Unhelpful Responses
I recently ordered a couple of Herman Miller Chairs from Seating Mind, and I gotta say, I'm not too happy with the service so far. It's been over a week, and my order hasn't even been processed yet! I've been going back and forth between California and Arizona, and I sent them an email asking if they could deliver the chairs to Porter Ranch by the end of the week. If not, I asked them to send it to Sedona instead. But all I got was some generic response saying that it takes them 14-20 business days to do anything. I mean, come on! I told them to cancel the order if they couldn't fulfill it within a reasonable timeframe, but I haven't heard back from them yet. And to make matters worse, I've already paid for the chairs!
Their response was just a form letter, and I'm sure everyone gets the same thing. It's frustrating to deal with a company that doesn't seem to care about their customers. I understand that they need time to process each order, but 14-20 business days is a long time to wait for something that should have been shipped out already. And if they can't even give me a straight answer about whether or not they can deliver the chairs to the right location, then what's the point?
I hope that Seating Mind can get their act together and provide better customer service in the future. I don't want to have to deal with this kind of hassle every time I order something from them. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to getting those Herman Miller Chairs, but now I'm not so sure if it's worth the trouble. If you're thinking about ordering from Seating Mind, I would recommend that you proceed with caution and be prepared for a long wait and unhelpful responses.
Seating Mind Review: Refund Hassle and Revoked Authorization
I gotta say, my wife bought a chair from seatingmind.com on December 1st, 2022 for $347.99 as a Christmas gift. But, it didn't fit our desk, so we returned it within the timeframe they had designated. They got the chair back on January 12th, but we still hadn't received the refund by January 22nd. So, we asked them about it and they said the refund was processed but still pending. They told us to check again in 14 days.
But, when we still hadn't received the refund by April 22nd, we contacted them again. They said that it seems the refund didn't go through the first time they issued it. They said it should come through in 3-4 business days. But, when we reached out again on April 30th, we still hadn't received the refund. We asked for someone to call us, but we only got a recorded message telling us to contact them by e-mail.
This time, they asked for our PayPal address. But, on May 11th, we still hadn't received the refund either to our credit card or PayPal. So, we reached out again. But, this time, we didn't get a reply at all.
I did some digging and found out that the Better Business Bureau indicates that Seating Mind's Certificate of Formation or Authorization has been revoked by the New Jersey State Treasurer as of 2/10/22. And, the reviews on the BBB site give it a rating of 1.8 out of 5.
Honestly, we're extremely disappointed with this business. It's been a hassle trying to get our refund, and it seems like they're not even authorized to do business anymore. I wouldn't recommend Seating Mind to anyone.
Seating Mind Review: Beware of Scammers!
on their website. Are they for real or just fake? I mean, we had such a terrible experience with Seating Mind (seatingmind.com) that we had to cancel our order for a Herman Miller chair. And let me tell you, it was not an easy feat.
Firstly, we had to wait for a long time for the shipping status and our order was still in limbo. We got impatient and decided to cancel it. But even after we cancelled, they still sent us emails regarding the impending order process. It was super annoying and we had to send them a couple of requests to finally get a confirmation of the cancellation. To our surprise, they didn't include any refund information. So, we had to send them a couple of more emails to request a full refund. And guess what? They only sent a partial refund!
We were furious and requested the remaining refund amount. After all, the cancellation happened before the order was even processed. But, they sent us an email stating that the cancellation was completed without even mentioning the remaining refund. It was a total scam!
Now, we have to dispute the transaction with PayPal. As if we don't have enough stress in our lives. We don't recommend dealing with these unscrupulous people. It's not worth the savings if it comes at the cost of our mental health and faith in our business community.
We don't understand how they have such high ratings on their website. We doubt their authenticity and wonder if it's all just a sham. Save yourself the trouble and do business with reputable companies instead. Trust us, you'll thank us later.

Avoid Seating Mind: Shady Customer Service & Hidden Refund Policy During Pandemic
Yo, let me tell you something. Don't even mess with Seating Mind, for real. I'm talking about a customer service nightmare, bruh. I ordered a chair from them like two months ago and they kept giving me excuses about COVID and stuff. Then I finally asked for an update and they were like "uh, we don't have that chair anymore, sorry not sorry." So I was like, alright, just give me my money back. But then they only gave me 90% of what I paid because of some "policy" they have. Ain't that some BS? They never even mentioned that when they offered the refund. Straight up greedy, man. Makes you wonder how much money they're raking in off of people during this crazy pandemic. Shady vibes all around, really turned me off from ever using them again.
Seating Mind Review: Poor Customer Service & Lack of Warranty Coverage for Steelcase Chairs
I recently purchased an expensive Steelcase Chair from Seating Mind, and it was initially great. However, it began to show some issues after about six months of use. The cylinder broke, which ultimately made it impossible for me to adjust the height of the chair.
In the hopes of getting it fixed, I reached out to Seating Mind in December of 2019. To their credit, they did get back to me with some instructions on how to fix it myself. However, the instructions were not very clear, and as a result, I could not follow them properly. Unfortunately, they did not respond to my subsequent messages asking for additional help.
When I filed a complaint with Steelcase, I was advised to check Seating Mind's website. It was there I learned that they are not an official seller of Steelcase products and that therefore, Steelcase would not cover any warranty claims for their chairs.
I decided to try and fix it myself with the assistance of a mechanically-inclined friend. When we finally managed to remove the seat after a lot of effort, we discovered that the cylinder was not the same as the one outlined in Seating Mind's instructions, and there was nothing more that we could do to repair it.
I reached out to Seating Mind again about my supposed five-year warranty, to no avail. After checking with a local Steelcase seller, I found out that it would cost me $300 to get it repaired by them.
Overall, I have to say that Seating Mind is not a company that I would recommend. Although their initial response was prompt, and they did give me some instructions on how to repair the chair myself, their on-going lack of response to my requests for help, along with the fact that Steelcase would not honor the warranty, puts this company at the bottom of my list.
Beware of Seating Mind: Scam Alert for Fake Herman Miller Chair Purchase
Wow, my experience with Seating Mind was absolutely awful. I don't think they're even a legitimate company! I placed an order for a fancy chair from Herman Miller with all the bells and whistles. But after a couple of weeks of not hearing anything, I reached out to them to see what was going on. That's when they finally responded and told me that they were building my chair. But little did I know, they actually gave me a stripped down OLD, USED, DAMAGED, NASTY DIRTY chair instead. It was missing the headrest that I paid extra for and the lumbar support was not the upgraded version that I ordered.
After trying to call them relentlessly and not getting any response, I finally sent them a few emails with photos of the horrible condition of the chair. Eventually, I got a response back, but they tried to deny that there was anything wrong with the product. I was not having any of it, so I demanded a return shipping label and sent the chair back to them.
A few weeks later, they refunded me, but guess what? They held back 20% of my payment for a "restocking fee." Are you kidding me? They didn't even send me what I ordered in the first place! When I challenged them and sent them even more proof of the issue, they stopped corresponding with me at all.
I can't believe this company is still in business. Total scam artists is what they are. If you're considering buying anything from Seating Mind, don't. Just don't do it. Save yourself the headache and the heartbreak.
WARNING: DO NOT SHOP FROM SEATING MIND - My Horrible Experience Revealed
this might be the honest review i've ever made. don't you ever and i mean EVER shop from seating mind. i contacted them cowpile of times just to know when they are gonna ship my order and they said it would be there max in 10 days. and what happened after 10 days? was my order there? nope. weirdly they told me that its out of stock! i was really pissed ok, but even after they offered me the same chair with another finish and they're gonna ship it in 24 hours, i said ok. guess what? they didn't reply me back at all! seriously? then, i sent a cancelling email so i thought that that's the end of the story. bruh, 3 days later i received a package, FINALLY i thought, but, did i receive the same chair? nope. is it new? nope. do it has the features i ordered for? what a surprise to you! no! is it disgusting how much it was used? i really cannot unsee it. surprise surprise features are nowhere to be found. i was like wtf is wrong with this place. those people offered me $200 discount for selling me a second-hand chair instead of 1 i actually ordered for! and even that chair was so cheaper than the one i ordered ad it was not a new one. guess what? i shipped the chair back to them so fast and then they charged me again and again after i disputed it with my credit card companies to be sure. yes, i was charged for the chair i didn't even receive! word of advice from me: don't even think of ordering from them whatever you do!
Terrible Customer Service: My Disastrous Experience with Seating Mind
I can't believe how terrible Seating Mind is! Honestly, if you are looking for a furniture store that actually cares about their customers, look elsewhere. The laziness and unprofessionalism of this company is unbelievable. It's no wonder that people from New Jersey have a bad reputation - this company is a perfect example of it.
I placed an order for a "Herman Miller Sayl Side Chairs Black Set of 2 Chairs" and waited for over two weeks for it to arrive. Can you imagine my surprise when I received a message from their customer service department telling me that they only had one of the two chairs I had ordered? They had listed it as a "set of 2," so I was understandably upset.
Not only did they take over two weeks to start reaching out to their warehouse, but they also listed items online that they didn't even have in stock. What kind of joke is this?
When I asked for a solution to this problem, they offered me nothing. Not even a promo code for their mistake. I was infuriated. The only option they gave me was a refund, stating that it would be issued "within a week." However, it's been almost a month since I placed my order, and I still haven't received my refund of $449.
This company is absolutely terrible, and I highly suggest that you don't waste your time or money with them. It's no wonder why the Better Business Bureau gives them an F!
SeatingMind Review: Poor Service, Outrageous Fees, Breach of Privacy
SeatingMind really let me down. I ordered a Herman Miller Aeron chair, size C, and spent some extra cash to make sure it was the large size I needed. But when the chair arrived, it was size B. So I contacted SeatingMind to ask for an exchange for the right size. Instead, they gave me a partial refund and charged me a whopping $130 restocking fee! Outrageous!
But that's not the worst of it. Throughout the whole return process, I was treated with indifference and disrespect by both the owner and the customer service reps. And to make matters worse, they added me to an email thread meant for another customer, exposing personal information that they should have kept private. I was so upset by this breach of privacy that I contacted the other customer myself to make sure he knew about the mistake. But he hadn't heard from SeatingMind at all!
It's just plain wrong to charge folks for returning a product that wasn't their mistake in the first place. It's even worse to treat them poorly when they're already upset. And it's flat-out illegal to expose sensitive information like that. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend SeatingMind to anyone.
Poor Customer Support and Incomplete Product from Seating Mind
I recently made a purchase from the Seating Mind website, seeking to upgrade my office furniture. My eye caught the Herman Miller refurbished Aeron chair WITH Posturefit, which seemed like the perfect fit for my workspace. I placed my order on October 6th, excited to receive my new chair and ease my back pain.
Unfortunately, upon delivery on Sunday, October 24th, I noticed that the Posturefit was missing from my chair. I immediately contacted the customer support team through their email address and hoped to get a quick fix. To my displeasure, I received no response for three days, until Lenna from the Customer Service department replied surprisingly early on Monday, October 15th, at 5:30 in the morning. To follow up, she asked for pictures to show which component was missing. I responded in a timely fashion, sending those photos early in the morning, which is pretty early for me.
However, even after sending the pictures, I never heard back from them for days and started to feel ignored. I tried calling their customer service phone line on Wednesday, October 27th, and left a voicemail message. To my surprise, nobody called me back or answered my concerns. That's a bit frustrating!
Feeling like I was getting nowhere, I sent another email on Friday, October 28th, upset as this was my third time contacting them about the same issue, and still no response. In my message, I mentioned my frustration and asked for a reply, but again, no luck. It's like they aren't interested in their customers and their satisfaction.
It is now November 3rd, almost a month after I placed my initial order, and I have yet to receive any update regarding the Posturefit or a solution to the issue. I feel deceived by their website, as I suspect that they have sold me a product that wasn't complete in the first place. I have lost the comfort and benefits of the Posturefit that I had paid for, and nobody seems to care to help me out with this issue.
It is always important to treat customers with respect and let them know they matter. If Seating Mind doesn't rectify this issue soon, it's doubtful I - or anyone else for that matter - will return to shop at their site again. It's not really worth the time and money.
Seating Mind Review: Beware of Hidden Fees and Delays in Shipping
I decided to try Seating Mind as I was in need of a new chair. I placed my order on May 21st and was eagerly waiting for my new chair's arrival. However, to my disappointment, July rolled around and the chair was still nowhere in sight. I decided to cancel my order, but to my surprise, they refunded only a portion of my money. They cited "costs" of ordering and stated that they were "double charged" from the credit card processor. I was shocked by this and felt like I had been scammed. As a merchant myself, I knew this was not how the system worked.
Upon reaching out to them, they stated that there was a significant cost related to order processing to customize and prepare the item before shipping. They also mentioned that there was work involved in canceling an order that included credit card transaction fees of 6.8% that was twice 3.4%. As per their terms and conditions, they assessed a 10% service fee on canceled orders that were yet to be shipped. I was surprised to see this as I did not see any notice of cancellation fees during the ordering process. I decided to do some research, and nowhere on the site did it mention the 10% cancellation fee.
Overall, my experience with Seating Mind was not a pleasant one. I do not think that their policy of charging a 10% cancellation fee without mentioning it during the ordering process is fair. I would advise anyone considering ordering from them to proceed with caution.
Comfortable and Affordable: My Review of the Humanscale Freedom Chair from Seating Mind
So, I gotta say, I ordered myself a Humanscale Freedom chair from Seating Mind (seatingmind.com), and although it took a bit longer than expected, I am stoked about my purchase. Now, don't get me wrong, I had a bone to pick with the shipping, but to be fair, that's more on FedEx than Seating Mind. I mean, come on, it reached a distribution center nearby at 6am and still wasn't out for delivery that day? What gives, FedEx? It ended up taking an extra business day for it to finally make it to my doorstep, which was a bummer, but it was worth the wait.
Let me tell you about the chair itself. It's legit. Sure, there are a few scuffs and scratches here and there, but honestly, it's to be expected when you're ordering a used office chair. It's comfortable as heck, and the rollerblade-style casters make it smooth and easy to move around. And the best part? The price was totally reasonable.
I'm so impressed with it that I've been recommending Seating Mind to all my buds who are looking for a high-quality office chair for home. I mean, seriously, enough with those $200 discount box store chairs that are just going to fall apart within a year. And forget about trying to deal with those other office chair suppliers who only sell in bulk and require an appointment. Seating Mind makes it easy by selling direct and shipping to individuals. It's a no-brainer.
So, yeah, the shipping may have been a bit wonky, but I'm still a happy customer. And I know my back is going to thank me for making this investment in a quality chair.
