Sensa targets individuals with ADHD and related issues to get subscriptions that are not easily cancelled, while continuing to charge for services that are not used.
Sensa is an app that claims to help ADHD. They say it "Makes it Easy Reduce Stress, Cope with Anxiety" by creating things like "Personalized Anti-procrastination More Willpower and Confidence".
I tried it through the $1 trial, found it very very lacking in it's ability to help with my issues. I went to the website to cancel my trial. Feeling like I was successful in this, I did not think about it after.
Given I have ADHD with time blindness, it can be nearly impossible to track things like this after the fact.
I have been charged nearly $80 a few times now.
Contacting Sensa to request a real cancellation and refund of only the most recent payment, I receive a response that there is nothing they can do, as they have no record of my prior attempt to cancel - and I agreed to their terms...
Lots of apologies but still holding me to an agreement *they say* I didn't cancel.
This app is predatory. Any developers that truly understand the issues involved with ADHD would make doubly sure that there are reminders and very very clearly listed timelines and updates of charges. I only became aware of the charge after seeing an alert front the app store. I had already been charged...
Beware.
Claimed loss: $79
Desired outcome: refund of 1 subscription payment

Today I feel compelled to do something about this! There is literally a "pandemic" of scammy subscription apps and services out there preying on people with ADHD. Like me. I am so sick of it! We need to either find or establish one central spot online to compile all of the negative experiences we've had and everything we have seen that exposes this terrible trend once and for all! From that repository of information, experiences and facts we can reach out to key ADHD hubs and organizations (like CHADD, ADDA, NAMI, etc.) and to relevant watchdogs and consumer protection agencies (government and others). Also to major media including trusted daily newspapers, news networks, and wire services. We need to see some big exposé articles in the headlines and broadcast news coverage pieces aired to curb this plague! Are you with me?
