Rip off AVOID!!
Keep away unless your loaded!
My just passed MOT with advisory for front disc n pads!
They collected the car then rang me to say it was" too dangerous to return to my address!" It was advisory 3days prior!
Charged me a total of over £1,000 for 2 front discs n pads,
£138 for a diagnostic I got no report on!
£110 engine flush
£130 for brake fluid!
Can't help thinking I was ripped off!?
Never again
Unbelievable
I found service stop on Google, I needed a full service and MOT, as my partner has had 13 strokes, the fact they would collect and return car was great as I still had to go to work. I booked in, they collected the car. I looked on dvla site after a few hrs and it had failed mot. I wasn't too surprised as my engine management light was on which is why it failed. I also had an advisory of read brake pads low. Fine. I called the call centre to see what I was supposed to do next, and the guy started rambling on about other things... I asked why as I had 1 advisory and he said that I needed wiper blades and would cost £85! I asked him if that included a person that lived under my bonnet and manually wiped the windscreen when it needed it (lol) he then proceeded to say I needed brake fluid at £90 and all the work would cost £625! I said "no thank you" he started his intimidating tactics then of "well its failed, its not insured, you can't drive it, they won't return it, you will be illegally driving" I basically told him to jog on. He then proceeded to tell me if you drive a car it "needs to be able to brake you know" I said to him "I've been driving 25 yrs, if I don't know that by now then there is something wrong" I asked him why he was saying about brakes as I just had it on an advisory and he said it was dangerous. I ended the call. My friend dropped me off at the nominated garage where my car was, they said they didn't refuse to bring my car back, and proceeded to tell me the work that was needed to remove the management light. I declined, they brought my car back an hr later. I took it straight to my usual garage to be told in their opinion no service other than oil change had taken place, the engine management light wasn't on, and my advisories were just a rear tyre no brake pads. My garage said in their opinion not only did none of the work need doing that if it had needed done it would be less than £100. I didnt go back for the free mot test, I paid another garage to complete it. I will never use service stop again. Absolute daylight Robbery! I was angry for all the people that maybe intimidated by these thieves. Unbelievable! I wish I'd read the reviews 😕 so I basically paid for a full service that wasn't done and an mot that the advisories were not an advisory and didn't show rear tyres
Thieves and liars
Paid for service, was then sold extra work. None of the work was done, nothing ! £1000 later after being told my car was ready, i had to locate and retrieve my car as it was not delivered back. Took to another garage to confirm that none of what I paid for had been carried out.
Beware , this company will lie to you , they will not release your vehicle until you have firstly reviewed them and then paid the bill and may well not have carried out any of the work you pay for.
Customer complaints department is non existent, good luck trying to get through to them , they do not have a customer phone line , they only use email or their messenger service.
Recommendation: Do not use this company
Warning: My Disappointing Experience with Servicing Stop & Deceptive Pricing Structure
I was excited to book my MOT and service with Servicing Stop, as they had a convenient online booking system that confirmed my date and time availability. However, my experience quickly turned sour. On the day of my booking, I waited for the garage to collect my car as promised, but no one showed up. After waiting for two hours, I tried calling the Servicing Stop helpline, only to be put on hold for 45 minutes with no success.
Desperate to get an update, I tried reaching out to the garage directly and was surprised to discover that they had only received my booking that morning from Servicing Stop. Not only did they not have availability to service my car, but they had received seven other bookings from Servicing Stop as well. Frustrated, I contacted Servicing Stop via email, but was only met with excuses and blame. I was disappointed that they didn't offer me an alternative garage or any kind of support.
To add insult to injury, I had already paid for the service and was informed that the garage's minimum price for an MOT and service was ?270.00, which was ?150 more than what I had paid through Servicing Stop. Realizing that I had been deceived by Servicing Stop and their pricing structure, I requested a full refund.
However, it seemed that getting a refund was easier said than done. According to Jason from Servicing Stop, they had 14 days to process the refund, followed by an additional 7 days for the refund to reach my account. In total, I was left waiting for weeks to get my money back.
I was beyond frustrated with the poor customer service and lack of accountability from Servicing Stop. Despite my repeated requests for a refund, they showed no signs of caring about my situation and instead shifted blame to others. In the end, it took me threatening legal action and press involvement to finally get my refund.
Please take my advice and avoid Servicing Stop. They are unreliable, have a lack of customer care and support, and deceive customers with their pricing structure.
Beware of Servicing Stop: A Costly Middleman Masked as a Car Service and MOT Provider
I recently tried out Servicing Stop, a car service and MOT provider that picked up my vehicle the next day and took it to their garage, as promised. However, my experience quickly turned sour when an agent from the company called me a few hours later to inform me that several parts in my car needed to be replaced. Despite asking for a quote, I was taken aback by the amount they demanded, which was far higher than I had anticipated. When I declined the service, the customer service agent became increasingly aggressive and tried to use scare tactics to force me into accepting the inflated quote. They even wrongly claimed that my car was illegal to drive and absolutely had to be serviced immediately.
Feeling bullied, I decided to reach out to the garage themselves to find out what was going on. To my relief, I learned that my car was in perfectly legal condition and that they could take care of the work themselves and deliver it back to me that same evening. Later on, I decided to take the service report to another garage for comparison, and it turns out that the same repairs and services would have cost me an astounding £450 less! I found out that Servicing Stop appears to act as nothing more than a middleman, making huge margins on top of what local garages would have charged in the first place.
Overall, my experience was very poor and I would not recommend this service to anyone, no matter how desperate they may be. I have serious doubts about the validity of the Trust Pilot ratings they advertise on their website and believe that anyone who cares about their car and their wallet would be far better off just going to a local garage directly.
Terrible Experience with Servicing Stop: Unreliable Service and Hidden Costs
I recently had a negative experience with Servicing Stop and wanted to share my thoughts. Despite the company being at the top of Google's search results, I found their service to be extremely poor. Initially quoted ?120 for a full service, I was offered a ?20 discount for paying up front. I expected an oil change, oil filter change, new spark plugs, air filters, and everything else one would typically receive in a full service.
However, all I received was a 77 point check on my car and a phone call saying it would actually cost ?900 to service my car at around 5 PM on the day it was scheduled to be returned. I was told that the oil had already been drained and a new oil filter put in and that if I wanted my car back, I would need to pay ?24.99. Despite being assured that no work would be carried out without authorization, I was forced to agree to new oil out of necessity and later received an email saying my opt-out was void.
When I spoke to the garage that Servicing Stop had sent my car to, I was informed that the expected full service would have only cost ?160 if I had booked directly with them. They also mentioned the numerous complaints received about Servicing Stop and expressed their frustration with dealing with the company. All Servicing Stop offered me was an emphasis on the terms and conditions and a ?15 discount towards my next service booked through them.
In my opinion, it's best to book a full service directly with a garage rather than go through Servicing Stop. I found them to be a complete disgrace and believe that this kind of conduct should be illegal. I hope this post will help others avoid falling into the same trap.
Unacceptable Business Practices: A Review of Servicing Stop (servicingstop.co.uk)
I had a truly terrible experience with Servicing Stop (servicingstop.co.uk) and I would caution anyone against using their services. I scheduled services with them and their sales representative informed me that my car had failed its MOT and was displaying fault codes that needed immediate attention. However, I knew this couldn't be accurate as my car was relatively new and I had not seen any error codes. When I disputed this with them, they informed me that I would not receive my car back until the issues were resolved - an unacceptable demand considering my car was under PCP and still under warranty. I only required the bare minimum of repairs and wanted to take care of any remaining issues with the seller, who was closed due to pandemic regulations. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of allowing this company to provide me with a "free" collection service, which I would later regret.
After they had my car, I received a call demanding immediate payment or else the repairs would be delayed and the car would not be returned to me. I made the payment and waited for news, but received nothing. When I called to inquire, I waited for two hours on hold and still did not reach anyone. I then texted the individual who called me for payment and he responded that his workday was over after I threatened to report the car as stolen. To make matters worse, when I finally retrieved my car, I asked for a specific explanation as to the cause of the issue preventing its return, but they refused to provide it, claiming they were unable to do so. This was highly suspicious, as it would be logical to assume that even a potential fault could be explained logically before proper testing.
I ultimately took my car to a proper dealer and they confirmed that there was no issue whatsoever. My experience with Servicing Stop left me feeling completely ripped off, as they were attempting to scare me into paying far more than what was necessary for nonexistent faults. I have sent multiple complaints to them, one on June 22 and another on July 6, and have still yet to receive a response. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this fraudulent company and spread the word about their abysmal business practices.
Beware of Servicing Stop: A Terrible Experience and Warning Review
If you're considering using Servicing Stop for your car servicing needs, you might want to think twice. A recent customer had a terrible experience, and it's definitely worth taking note of their warning.
Firstly, the customer had arranged for their car to be serviced on a particular date, but was let down at the last minute. They rescheduled, but then had issues with the pickup time - instead of arriving between 8am and 10am, the driver didn't show up until 11am.
Then, things got really bad. The customer received an email about some additional work that was recommended, but when they saw the prices they were shocked. They were quoted almost £500 for some basic work, which they declined. The customer then paid upfront for their service, and waited for their car to be returned.
However, things went from bad to worse. The customer had no contact from Servicing Stop for hours, despite trying to get in touch with them through various channels. They called, texted, and left voicemails, but heard nothing. Even the garage that had serviced the car didn't seem to be able to help. Eventually, the car was returned - but only after a lot of stress and frustration.
This kind of experience can be incredibly stressful for customers - and it's made all the worse by the fact that they'd paid upfront for the service. It's not surprising that the customer recommends avoiding Servicing Stop at all costs.
It's important to bear in mind that the customer's experience might not be typical - but it's still something to be aware of. It's worth doing your research, and reading reviews from a variety of sources before making a decision about which company to use.
Disappointed with Servicing Stop: Late Cancellations & Non-Pickups Resulting in Income Loss
Dear Toby Richmond,
I would like to express my disappointment with the level of service I received from Servicing Stop. I had booked my car for a service and MOT on the 4th of August, which was confirmed by your team. I was then informed late in the evening of the 3rd that the garage was overbooked and my appointment would have to be rescheduled.
My appointment was then rescheduled for today and confirmed by email, with a promise that my car would be picked up between 8 and 10am. However, by 10:12am, my car had not been picked up. I attempted to reach out to your team on the only phone number available and was on hold for 1 hour, 11 minutes, and 39 seconds.
I eventually got through to someone on my way to the garage as time was getting on. Your customer service representative called the garage and was informed that someone would be sent to pick up my car, which happened at 11:23am. When I arrived at the garage, they were unable to take me back to work.
I am disappointed that the garage was not aware of the time frames that you advise customers of. There were also no updates on the delays and non-pickups that were occurring. Additionally, your call answering time frame is beyond appalling and should be addressed immediately.
Assuming everything is sorted today, I will be posting this email as part of my review, and I will be sure to advise all my customers of your poor customer service and systems. As a result of your late cancellations and non-pickups, I have lost appointments and income, having to take time off work to drive to the garage.
I hope you take these points into serious consideration to improve your services. Regrettably, I will never use your company again. In my 40 years of driving, your company is the worst I have encountered.
I look forward to hearing from you on my earlier email sent via your customer service email address.
Yours sincerely,
John Tunbridge
Mixed Experience with Servicing Stop: Payment & Customer Service Issues
I recently took my car to Servicing Stop for an MOT and a hand brake adjustment, which cost me a total of 411.49 Pounds. While the service and work carried out was satisfactory, I did encounter some issues with their payment and customer service departments.
Despite agreeing to a payment plan over 6 months, my bank (Starling Bank) was rejected when completing the necessary forms. I informed Servicing Stop of this issue, but they did not get back to me as promised. As a result, I had to take out a loan so that I could pay for the service and MOT in full.
After making the payment, I tried contacting their customer service team to let them know, but my calls went unanswered and were met with the engaged tone. Eventually, the manager Michael got in touch with me to try and resolve the matter and assured me that my car would be delivered on a specific date and time. Unfortunately, on the day of delivery, I did not receive my car until much later and only after I phoned to chase it up.
Upon inspecting my vehicle, I also noticed that the service light was still on, which made me doubt whether the service had actually been carried out.
Despite these issues, I appreciate Michael's attempt to resolve the matter and his offer to refund me for any inconvenience caused. In his email, he assured me that he would keep me updated on the return of my vehicle.
Overall, while I was happy with the service and work done on my car, I did experience some issues with the payment and communication with Servicing Stop, which could have been improved.
Unprofessional and Disappointing Experience with Servicing Stop - Beware!
I recently had a terrible experience with Servicing Stop and I would advise anyone to think twice before using their services. I booked my vehicle in for servicing and an MOT via their website and received a booking reference number. However, from the moment they were supposed to collect my vehicle, everything went downhill. The driver was supposed to arrive between 8-10am but never showed up. I received a call from the garage around 10am and was told the driver who was assigned to collect my car was sick. Eventually, my vehicle was collected at 11am.
Later in the day, I received a call from Chris at Servicing Stop telling me that my vehicle had not passed the MOT and I needed to pay £1,350 for it to pass. When I asked for an explanation of the cost, he became rude and dismissive and refused to provide me with any details. He said he would send me an email, but I never received one. I asked if my vehicle had been serviced as well, but he did not provide a clear answer.
Despite making a complaint to Servicing Stop, I was unable to get through to them on the phone as it was always engaged. I subsequently contacted the garage that my car was sent to and was told my vehicle would be delivered back to me. However, it was delivered one hour late and the driver simply dropped the key through my letterbox without providing any proof of servicing.
I am deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism and poor quality of service provided by this company. I would like to be provided with proof of receipt of the service that was done on my vehicle, along with details of exactly what was done, via email. If this is not addressed within the next three working days, I will be escalating this to the financial ombudsmen services and leaving a detailed feedback on all review sites to warn others of my unfortunate experience. Please be wary of this company and the potential risk of losing your money.
Binge-worthy thriller: A review of The Night Manager series
I'm very frustrated
I booked my car in for a service on Monday
It was postponed until Tuesday so I had to reschedule everything losing out on work, paying for extra childcare etc.
No one came to pick up my car for hours further disrupting me, because I couldn't go anywhere or do anything whilst I waited for about 3hrs after my booked slot
After it was collected, I waited all day to hear back and get my car back for the evening so I could pick up my child and plan for work etc the following day but I heard nothing
I called around 5.50pm and was on hold for half hour before I tried the online AI. The online robot told me that there is no one available after 5. So WHY ON EARTH was I on hold all that time being told they were busy when there was no one even there to take my call.
I phoned the garage and they told me that my car had broken down en route to the garage. That would not have happened if my original booking was accepted. But saying that, I'm not confident that it did break down at all but I can't prove anything as some other person was driving my vehicle. I was led to believe that my car would be collected on a another vehicle, not actually driven by a stranger.
The garage said they informed service stop at 2.30pm on Tuesday that it was broken down and that they needed to contact me to get approval so that they could start investigations, but I didn't hear from anyone. I asked if I could give them approval but they said it has to come through service stop.
I called them back at 8am when they opened again and was told that a service advisor called Gary or Gerry or Glenn would call me back after he began work at 9am and he would be told it was urgent and that I could expect a call back around 9.30am.
I didn't get a call back. So I phoned up again at 10.15ish and was on hold for an hour. When my call was finally answered I was told that I would need to speak to management. I was told that the agent would email management and I asked if I could call them and she said that's not possible. I pointed out how bizarre it is that its MY CAR but I can't approve work without speaking to management but there is no way of me even getting hold of management. Then the line started bleeping as if I was in hold or something and then the line went dead as if she hung up on me.
I have no idea what is going on, who is going to call me or when (or if!). Every time I've been given a day or a time it hasn't happened. Communication from them is absolutely disgraceful. I need my car back. I'm only in the area until the end of the day. Who is paying my loss of earnings? Who is paying my extra childcare costs? Who is going to pay for my transport back home or to put me up in a hotel for the night if I can't have my car back today? I've been told that I won't hear back from my complaint email for 2-3 days. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO FOR 3 DAYS? And going by their track record I won't hear back at all.
Right now I'm not sure this company is even legitimate. I can't speak to anyone and I'm being pushed around and I had to pay up front then someone came and took my car and now I can't do anything about it. I'm so stressed and I'm furious and I'm so so so upset because I don't know what to do.
I don't know where to go for help. They took my money, they took my car and now I'm stuck.
Servicing Stop Review: High Prices, Poor Service, Misleading Advertising - Stay Away!
I recently had a very disappointing experience with Servicing Stop when I booked my car in for some work. They promised me the best price guarantee, saying that if I found a better deal elsewhere they would match it. However, when I called the garage I had booked with to check the cost of the work, they quoted me ?280 including VAT. Servicing Stop then contacted me to say that it would in fact cost me ?671.74, which is almost 3 times the price of the local garage.
I was furious with this sudden price hike, especially given that Servicing Stop had not been involved in my initial booking. I immediately sent them an email asking to cancel my agreement with them and requesting an explanation for the exorbitant charges. However, I received no response from their customer services team, which made me even more frustrated.
After some digging around online, I discovered that I wasn't alone in feeling let down by Servicing Stop. Their reviews on Sitejabber were consistently negative, with people complaining about poor service, high prices, and misleading advertising. Money Saving Expert even has a team called Resolver dedicated to helping people deal with issues with Servicing Stop, which should tell you something about the number of complaints they receive.
Deborah Meaden, one of the investors on Dragons' Den, has also distanced herself from the company, stating that although she made an offer on the show, the investment didn't go ahead and she has no connection to Servicing Stop.
Former employees have also left negative reviews on Indeed, with one sales assistant saying that they were required to lie to customers about what services their cars needed in order to make sales.
In conclusion, my experience with Servicing Stop was very unsatisfactory and I would advise anyone thinking of using them to steer well clear. If you have already been ripped off by them, the best course of action is to contact Resolver via Money Saving Expert and try to resolve the issue with as little engagement with Servicing Stop as possible. Don't waste your time dealing with a company that clearly has no interest in providing good service to its customers.

Disappointing Experience with Servicing Stop: Costly Recommendations and Poor Communication
I recently had the opportunity to use Servicing Stop (servicingstop.co.uk) for car maintenance and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Although the car was collected as planned, I was promptly informed that additional work was required, which seemed to be a common issue with this company. I had spoken to a reputable Citroen dealer the day before who assured me that the extra parts were not necessarily essential. However, the Servicing Stop representative insisted that they were vital.
As the day progressed, the situation only worsened. The car was not returned within the specified time and despite multiple attempts to make contact, there was no response to our phone calls. At one point, we even thought our car had been stolen, as their lack of communication and follow-up was so concerning. It wasn't until we sent text messages requesting an update that we received a response. Unfortunately, the representative displayed an attitude of apathy and a complete lack of concern for our situation.
When the car was eventually returned to us, it was three hours behind schedule. The subcontracted mechanic stated that the additional work recommended by Servicing Stop was just that, a recommendation and not an essential requirement. Had we gone through with the recommended work, it would have cost us ?140 more than if we had gone directly to a Citroen dealer. Additionally, don't forget to factor in the VAT costs.
As a result of our experience, we will not use Servicing Stop again and advise others thinking of doing so to read a range of reviews, rather than just the ones available on their website. It's important to look at the big picture and consider all options before making a decision. In conclusion, I was extremely disappointed with the level of service provided by Servicing Stop.
Disappointing experience with Servicing Stop: Long wait times, hidden fees, and pushy upselling
I recently had a disappointing experience with Servicing Stop (servicingstop.co.uk). As someone who has been using their services for a number of years, I can say that the gaps between services and MOTs are just long enough to forget how bad the experience was the last time around. My most recent encounter was particularly frustrating.
For starters, if you need to get in touch with them, be prepared to wait at least half an hour on hold. And if you expect to pay the original quoted price, think again. Prices are quoted without VAT, and there are all sorts of surcharges and fees that get added on for things like topping up fluids (even though this is supposed to be included in the full service), environmentally responsible disposal, and special oil that your car may not even need. What I thought was going to be a £120 service and MOT ended up being more than twice that amount.
To make matters worse, my technician tried to sell me on a bunch of extra services that I was pretty sure I had already had done during my previous visit. It wasn't until he double-checked that he realized I had been right, and that he could have snagged an extra £500 from me if I hadn't caught on.
And to top it all off, I still don't have my car back. I got confirmation mid-afternoon that the work had been done and paid for (albeit reluctantly), but it's now 8pm and I have no way of getting to work tomorrow.
Bottom line: do yourself a favour and spend a bit more to avoid the stress and annoyance that Servicing Stop will bring you. I certainly won't be using their services again.
Terrible Experience with Servicing Stop: Miscommunication, Pushy Sales, and Rude Behavior
I wish I had done my research before booking my car for an MOT and interim service with Servicing Stop. Unfortunately, my experience with this company was far from satisfactory. From the start, I struggled to get through to anyone on their phone lines, which was frustrating to say the least.
Eventually, I received a call from a garage who informed me that they would be carrying out the service on my car. However, the man on the phone spoke so quickly and with a strong accent that I struggled to understand him. Despite asking him to speak slowly and clearly, I still couldn't quite grasp what he was saying.
It soon became clear that this man was trying to sell me additional services that I didn't need. I had already changed my oil just four weeks prior, yet he was insisting that it needed replacing. When I told him that the engine flush had been done during my last service six months ago, he seemed unaware of this fact.
What's worse, when I told him that I didn't want any additional services, he became rude and unprofessional. He abruptly hung up on me without allowing me to finish my sentence or ask any further questions.
All in all, my experience with Servicing Stop was a complete waste of time and money. I plan on making a formal complaint and requesting my money back. I would never use this company again, and I urge anyone considering their services to think twice.

Appalling Service from Servicing Stop: 3 Cancellations in a Row, No Follow-ups, and Wasted Time on Hold
My recent experience with Servicing Stop was absolutely appalling. I booked my car in for a much-needed full service on a Tuesday, only to have it cancelled the day before and re-scheduled for Thursday. Unfortunately, on Thursday the service provider did not even bother to show up. After wasting 30 minutes on hold, I finally got through and was told that Servicing Stop would contact the garage and get back to me. However, after receiving no call backs from them, I decided to call them back and was once again put on hold for another 25 minutes. To my dismay, I was informed that my service couldn’t be done that day and was offered a booking on Monday instead.
I expressed my disappointment, and let them know that this was already the second cancellation that I've encountered. Therefore, I was told that they would try their best to find a slot for Friday, but if not, my service would be prioritized on Monday and they would even make a gesture of goodwill for me.
Come Monday, and I was left stranded yet again. Unable to get through to anyone, I wasted a further 40 minutes on hold before Servicing Stop called me back. This time, I was told that they were unsure why they had failed to pick up my car and subsequently had to cancel it again as they had taken in other cars instead. Unbelievable! The earliest available slot they could offer me was on Wednesday.
Needless to say, I was extremely unhappy with the service provided by Servicing Stop. It’s understandable that a cancellation might happen once in a while, but for it to have happened three times, and to have to continuously chase them up and waste my time waiting on hold is just unacceptable. I will not be using their services again in the future and will advise others to seek a more reliable service provider.
Warning: Do Not Use Servicing Stop for Your Car Service Needs - A Cautionary Tale
This review is a stark warning to anyone considering using Servicing Stop for their car service needs. The reviewer expresses a sense of betrayal and disappointment after booking their car in for a service only to realise they had been conned. The only reason they had chosen this particular company was because of the promise of the car being collected and delivered back, as well as the fact that they had seen them on "Dragons' Den". The reviewer cannot believe that Dragons' Den would associate their name with a company that engages in such dishonest practices.
The situation quickly becomes more troublesome when a garage near the reviewer collected their car, yet a few hours later, they received a call telling them they had to pay an additional 249 pounds for an oil change, brake flush, and other issues. The reviewer requested to speak to a manager but still had not received a response at the time of the review. Additionally, until 4.50 pm, the reviewer wasn't even sure which garage had their car, despite multiple phone calls and emails to the company. The reviewer had to start contacting local garages to pinpoint the location of their car by a company that wasn't open after 5 pm. The reviewer had spent over three hours with them and hadn't received a call back.
This is a disheartening experience that could happen to anyone. The reviewer emphasises that they will be contacting trading standards the next day to report them as they have seen negative reviews and articles online, and they refuse to let this company get away with ripping off people, especially in challenging times. The overall service cost them £350, which the reviewer condemns as excessive and implies that they are living on another planet for charging such a significant amount. The reviewer even warned the company about involving the police if they don't respond.
Therefore, the concluding advice, as the reviewer suggests, is DO NOT USE THIS FIRM. It is a cautionary tale that should encourage others to conduct thorough research before entrusting any company with their hard-earned money and beloved vehicles.
Beware of Hidden Charges: My Unsatisfactory Experience with Servicing Stop UK
I had a less than satisfactory experience with Servicing Stop (servicingstop.co.uk) recently. Initially, I was drawn in by their low advertised cost for a full car service. I had even taken the time to inquire if there were any hidden fees or charges, to which I was told no. The cost as advertised was all I would need to pay, unless the garage found any issues during the service. However, this was only the beginning of my troubles.
After dropping off my car, I received a call stating that in addition to the upfront cost I had paid, I would need to pay an additional ?228 for an oil surcharge, brake fluid renewal (as advised by the service), and engine diagnostics (also advised by the service). All of these were things that I assumed would be included in the full service cost advertised of ?172.33. My total bill ended up being ?400, which was way over what I would have paid at the Ford Dealership.
One of the biggest issues I had with the service was that they would not release my car until I paid the full amount, even though I was unhappy with the additional charges. When I expressed that I did not want the extra work done, they said it was fine, but I would not receive a refund for the upfront cost I had already paid. Additionally, they stated that my service record would not be updated if I did not pay for the additional work elsewhere.
To make matters worse, the one thing I had asked them to check - my tyre pressure malfunction - was not even looked at. When they initially called to inform me of the additional charges, they had said that this issue had been addressed, but this was not true.
Overall, I felt that Servicing Stop was a rip-off. While their initial cost may seem attractive, the additional charges and lack of accountability made for a negative experience. I would not recommend using this service and instead opt for a dealership or trustworthy mechanic.
Highly Disappointing Experience with Servicing Stop: Car Delayed, No Updates, and Poor Customer Support
I recently had a very disappointing experience with Servicing Stop. I scheduled for my car to be picked up at a specific time range, but they arrived several hours later than expected. I was promised that my car would be delivered back to me on the same day, but it is now past the promised time and I still haven't received my car. One of my biggest concerns is that there is no direct line to the individuals who are working on my car, so I have no idea what the status is or when I can expect my vehicle to be returned.
The fact that the garage closes at 5 pm just added to our frustration as they have no way of communicating outside of business hours. We patiently waited for an update on the status of our car but to no avail. After contacting their customer support and waiting for 30 minutes, we finally spoke to someone who wasn't able to provide any helpful information; they simply asked us what the status of the vehicle is, which is what we were trying to find out from them in the first place!
At this point, we have no clue whether we will receive our car today or not. We are extremely concerned about what they may have done with our car overnight and if it has been used for illegal activities. Using their service was a big mistake and I highly advise against it. Their advertisement stating, "if not delivered same day it will be free" is absolute nonsense. When we contacted them yesterday at 5pm, we were charged a fee of £120 on top of what we had already paid and were told that without that payment, we wouldn't receive our car. We ended up paying the additional fee, but we still haven't received our car!
This experience has been incredibly stressful, to say the least. In addition to losing access to our car, we are also spending more money on cabs than we had anticipated. If we do not receive our car by the promised time today, we will have no choice but to involve the police. We need to know what they have been using our car for and where it has been all this time. Overall, I advise against using Servicing Stop and encourage others to choose a different service that is more reliable and trustworthy.
Avoid Servicing Stop: Misleading Quotes, Unnecessary Charges, and Hard-Sell Tactics
I recently had an experience with Servicing Stop that left me feeling quite disappointed. They quoted me ?96 for an interim service, which included an added environmental fee of ?7.99 that the garage carrying out the service was unaware of. Sadly, my final bill came out to be ?141.83, which was quite a difference!
To add fuel to the fire, I had a call from Gary, a customer service representative who tried to convince me to purchase numerous "safety" extras that I didn't require. I have a Renault Captur, and they told me that it required special oil which asked me to pay an additional ?24+VAT. I checked with Renault, and they assured me that the recommended standard oil for my car is C4 0/30 or 5/30, and that there is no special oil, as claimed by the Servicing Stop team.
Furthermore, I look after my vehicle really well, and recently on 22/11/20, I had a full AA check, where the AA topped up all the fluids, including brake fluid, anti-freeze, windscreen wash, and more. However, Servicing Stop insisted that the garage needed to top them up again and charged me ?5.99+VAT for the work they carried out on 26/11/20--just four days after the AA had completed it.
I even spent three long hours trying to call Servicing Stop for further clarification, but with zero success. Interestingly, the garage that serviced my car mentioned that they too have numerous complaints from customers regarding Servicing Stop's hard-sell tactics and unnecessary additional charges.
I am now encouraging everyone to avoid Servicing Stop almost like the plague. After such a terrible experience, I found out that the cost of an interim service from my Renault dealer would only be ?160, including VAT. It turns out that the money I thought I would save wasn't that much of a savings to begin with, and the time and energy I put into the whole experience were simply not worth it. Ultimately, I would ask everyone to avoid Servicing Stop--AVOID AVOID AVOID.
Servicing Stop: More Pain Than Gain - A Review
I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with Servicing Stop while trying to get a full service on my wife's car. We were initially drawn in by their advertised price of ?165, which was a much more reasonable option compared to the ?305 our local Vauxhall dealership quoted us for a full service. After going through the list of items included in the service, we thought it sounded like a great deal and decided to give Servicing Stop a try.
However, our excitement was short-lived as we received an infuriating call from the Service Stop office in London at 4pm, just two hours before the car was supposed to be returned. The person on the phone had the audacity to inform me that several crucial things were not included in the original service, such as filters for oil, fuel, pollen, and brake fluid that needed to be drained and replaced. He even went as far as to insist that the oil was special, even after I had confirmed with Vauxhall that this was not the case.
To make matters worse, he then proceeded to inform me that there would be an additional ?375 on top of the ?165 we had already paid to complete the service - which was not worth it at all, given the terrible customer service and lack of transparency we experienced. He was incredibly condescending on the phone and kept pointing out that we "hadn't read the small print," which was incredibly frustrating as the items we thought were included were fairly standard for a full service.
In the end, we wound up paying an extra ?28 just to get the car back since they had already done the work, which left me feeling like I had overpaid for an oil change. Overall, I have to say that Servicing Stop is a complete ripoff and not worth the money or the hassle. I would strongly advise anyone considering using their services to steer clear and go to a main dealer for their car services in the future. It was a very expensive lesson, but one that I hope others can learn from.
Terrible Experience with Servicing Stop: Don't Waste Your Time and Money
I had a terrible experience with Servicing Stop (servicingstop.co.uk) and strongly advise others to look elsewhere. I booked an appointment for an MOT and service on October 4th, 2021, and paid upfront for the convenience of having them collect my car. I received a confirmation email and thought everything was set for the appointment.
However, on the day of the appointment, no one showed up to collect my car. I called to inquire about the issue, and the response I received was that "they cannot do it today." I was frustrated that I had not been contacted earlier to let me know about the cancellation. I rescheduled the appointment for Friday, but once again, no one came to collect my car. I didn't receive any updates about the situation.
Only after waiting for a third appointment, on Monday, October 11th, did I receive an email confirming the appointment. No one checked with me beforehand to see if that date and time were suitable for me. I waited again on the day of the appointment, but once more, no one showed up.
The problem is that once you pay upfront, they hold onto your money for up to ten days, so if you want a refund, you have to wait. I feel cheated and would advise others to stay away from them. Although they may offer low prices, they aren't trustworthy or reliable. Choose a garage that will honor your booking and see to it on that day!
After reading other reviews of Servicing Stop's shoddy work, I'm relieved I didn't follow through with their services. I have requested a full refund today.
