Shaw matrix lvp
Purchased 3700.00 worth of shaw's matrix lvp about 2 yrs ago. After 2 yr started to split right before side seam. Next it was separating at seams. Shaw did nothing to help, so we contacted bbb. Then shaw decides to send their bias inspector that said it was our fault because we forcibly installed. So let me get this straight, we pay for the floor, but we are going to forcibly install and crack boards. And only in certain areas. So I guess we just have loads of money to spend and force packs together, so we can go out and buy more. Boxes state diy. But that's just an reason for them not to help when you find out product is crap. 30 yr warranty, what a joke didn't even last a yr. Rip off company, they get your money and that's all they care about.
Desired outcome: 10 replacement boxes, so I can fix the damaged planks.
Defective LVP
1st off my faimly has owned a major flooring company 50yrs so I grew up in flooring and know all things flooring. I purchased 12mill Florte LVP less than a month after install the locking system started failing on multiple boards. I filed a claim inspector came out I didn't tell him who I was so he had no clue I know more about flooring than him. He inspected & would not give me his conclusion. A week later they denied my claim stating it was due to improper install! Not only did our best crew do the install I oversaw the installation. Everything was done to there exact spec. Shaw does make good products but if your unlucky enough to receive a defective product which happens occasionally with all mass produced products your screwed! I did my research they deny 95% of warranty claims. Since they don't stand behind there products we pulled all there products from all our locations.
Repel laminate
We purchased Shaw Repel laminate flooring from a local interior design business in 2020. The flooring has a Repel water resistant laminate warranty. We had an installer from the company put in the floor, and we followed the Shaw laminate care guide to care for the floor for the last two years. The floor has numerous bubbles and warped areas. Shaw replaced a portion of the floor in 2021. The floor has continued to warp and bubble since then. Our local company filed a claim, and Shaw sent one of their inspectors out, who concluded without any observed evidence that the floor had "topical moisture damage" and Shaw was not liable to fix or refund the flooring. Shaw did not honor the Repel laminate flooring warranty which states that the floor "will resist damage from moisture due to normal cleaning practices" and "will resist damage from moisture due to spills." Despite following Shaw's care guide and wiping up any extra moisture on the floor immediately, Shaw is refusing to honor its warranty. Shaw insists that we hire an independent certified flooring inspector to give a second opinion. In our area, the closest inspector is over 150 miles away and we received a quote from him that it would cost over $700 for an inspection. We are unable to afford this risk as this time, and furthermore, we do not believe a second opinion at our expense should be the only next step here. Shaw is exhibiting extremely shady business practices with this purchase by refusing to honor its warranty, and we are extremely disappointed and will highly discourage anyone we know from purchasing any Shaw laminate. We are unbelievably frustrated by this entire experience and see that Shaw cares only about its bottom line and not honoring any sort of warranties it claims to have. For Shaw's reference, the claim is #451935.
Desired outcome: Refund

Shaw tuftex, classic beauty, he & she carpet, style zz059
I purchased carpet for a family room, 4 bedrooms, and a hallway in June 2022 through Costco's program with Shaw flooring. Before buying the carpet, the Shaw representative that came to my home brought several samples of carpet. I liked the He & She carpet, and it came in two levels of density. I preferred the thicker, dense style, and it cost $4,000 more to carpet 4 bedrooms and the hallway than it would have been using the less dense style. I purchased the more dense style and paid the higher cost. After a month, the new carpet began separating from the backing in one bedroom, the closet, and the hallway. The sales representative sent an inspector to my home who collected a sample of the carpet and sent it to Shaw for analysis. The sales representative reported that he worked hard to get Shaw to replace all the carpeting. In September, Shaw agreed to replace all the defective carpeting. However, the replacement carpet did not have the same pile density as the original carpet installed in June. When I notified Shaw, the installer, and Costco, they all replied the carpet was the same. The installer agreed to send a sample of each carpet to Shaw for testing. After several weeks, I learned that Shaw never tested the two samples. So, I paid $700 for a certified carpet inspector to collect samples of both carpets and send them to an independent lab for analysis. The results of the lab analysis confirmed my suspicions. The replacement carpet I received in September was significantly less dense than the carpet I paid for and received in June. I sent the lab analysis to Costco and Shaw. They responded by saying the difference in "pile height" was within their specifications. My concern is not about pile height. My concern is about a difference in pile density, which is different from pile height. I requested a copy of the manufacturer's specifications, but Costco and Shaw refused to provide them. I also asked Costco and Shaw to explain the range of pile density that is acceptable for the more expensive He & She carpet that I purchased. The contract that I signed with Costco does not include the pile density or any specifications for the carpet, other than the name. So, Shaw can always say the carpet I purchased meets their specifications because they never provided any. I have copies of the inspection report and contract, but your website would not allow them to be uploaded.
Desired outcome: Refund between the costs of the carpet I purchased and what I received. I want specs for all carpets installed in my home (June & Sept). I want to know what is the range of density (low -high)for the more expensive " He and She" carpet.

Flooring is curling up at the seams and has chipped.
The flooring in our home is beginning to curl and chip. I noticed this on September 14th. In other parts of our home the planks are beginning to curl up at the seams. Our home is less than 2 years old. The flooring we chose is an upgraded vinyl plank flooring. I would like someone to check this out and solve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you.
Shaw engineered hickory wood flooring
We bought our new home in August 2019. We purchased the flooring thru Westport Flooring. The flooring started showing signs of damage within 6 months. The first report was filed in December 2019 w/ our 2-10 home warranty. Since the appearance or sign of the damage, the flooring is rapidly declining and showing more indications & areas of damage. In January 2022, I was informed that I need to file a claim with Shaw Flooring via Westport Flooring. I reached out to Dale Sumner with Westport flooring who immediately filed a claim with Shaw. I was contacted by an inspector, Tom Hammond, who completed the inspection on 1-12-22. I received a copy of the inspection report from Renee Buckner at Shaw. The claim number is #162609. The inspector found damage in approximately 12% of the total square footage. In addition about 12 planks with manufacturing defects. Since that inspection, the damage has become more pronounced & has appeared in additional planks or flooring. The response from Shaw on 1-21-22 agreed to repair the one plank that is manufacturing related. I was not satisfied with this outcome from Shaw. There are many flaws showing throughout the flooring of our home. This flooring is only 2 years & should not be this dilapidated & beat-up. Shaw is stating that one plank, out of one box, from a full pallet shipped from the assembly line in the manufacturing plant is a manufacturing defect. I responded to Shaw w/ my disbelief of the ridiculous offer to repair one plank on 1-26-22. Shaw responded on 2-2-22 and included copies of the warranty specifying cleaning & care methods. I used the recommended floor cleaner. I believe they word the care and maintenance as to avoid any warranty claims. What floor cannot handle cleaning. I dust mop daily and mop weekly if not more often. Why is it only showing damage in a few areas and not the entire floor. I clean the entire floor in the same manner. . I'm so surprised w/ this outcome. Surely this must be an oversight or mistake. This warranty response is unjustified.
Desired outcome: I'm asking that Shaw honor this warranty and replace my flooring, including labor and materials.
Product
I have Shaw Laminate flooring installed by a flooring company in Naples Fl We are on the 3rd floor so moisture is not the problem We keep the condo at the same temperature at all times, But the floors are creaking when you walk on them like you are walking on bags of potatoe chips! They show every mark and they are curling around the edges in places. What can I do if the company will not stand behind their product?
Desired outcome: I want them replaced with a good product or my money back including the installation!
Item v092500400, color 00400, shaw floorte waterproof vinyl plank flooring
Our floor is less than a year old and is breaking up at the seams and in the middle of some of the planks. The planks appear to be different thicknesses. The factory technician came out to look at the floor and never even checked the thickness of several of the planks. I had retained 3 boxes of the material, left over from installation and they measured two different thicknesses also but, the factory man didn't even want to look at those. They also appeared to break very easily when flexed.
Desired outcome: Floor replaced
Was this from the Anvil collection?
Asheville Pine floating luxury vinyl plank flooring
We purchased our flooring from our local Lowe's and we have been in contact with them and filed a claim on 3-18-21 the floors are terrible quality . They are breaking and are still breaking to this day. I had a contractor to come out to our home to look at the flooring and he told us that the manufacture cut the grooves to deep in there so it doesn't have to support it needs so they will keep breaking on the short and long edges. we paid a lot of money for this floor and it was put down by a contractor in 3 rooms in our home. we have been trying to resolve this since early last year and we can't get any answers and we are just handed off to rude people that keep telling us it's not there problem call Lowe's or Lowe's tell us to call Shaw nobody will help us. So we are stuck with broken floor and flooring that doesn't stay together and this floor is also been discontinued at our Lowe's so we can't even try to fix our floors. I have read all reviews on this floor and they all have stated the breaking and separating problem. My question is why can't someone help us ? The flooring is terrible and it makes our house look bad and it's not fair that we have to live and look at this floor everyday
Desired outcome: I want my floor fixed!!!
laminate flooring
Since right after we built our home 5 years ago I had issues
The first issue was before we closed on the house
Shaw said there had to be things installed wherever there was a door and the builder cut the floor and installed such so we would be covered under the Shaw warranty
Then shortly after we moved in we stared to see the floors buckling . We called the builder right away and they tore up those pieces and replaced them but then it happened again but not only in the same area 3 times but now I other areas . They had someone from Shaw come to my house and I was told it had to do with getting wet I said he never got wet but he insisted that it did and that's why it was like that
I then called the builder and another guy came out and said it was from moisture in the home but couldn't tell me where the mosisture was
After fighting for over 2 years with the builder and Shaw I didn't know where to turn
Now 5 years later every room that has the Shaw flooring has some buckling and peeling
I'm so frustrated and don't know what to do against this company
I have every document and all correspondence between myself the builder and Shaw
If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it
Is this floor Lucky Day horse shoe?
Warranty claims policy
I purchased Shaw Floorte Classico Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring and Shaw Selitac underlayment from online retailers. Both products are defective in design. I have tried to make a claim via their warranties. Shaw fails to administrate warranty claims directly -- they force their retailing network to handle warranty claims, despite Shaw being the manufacturer and responsible cause of the product defects. The retailers have no incentive to incur the time nor expense to handle Shaw warranty claims. As a result, warranty claims are essentially ignored except for drawn out and ineffectual communications, that is, plenty of lip service but nothing gets resolved.
I am a retailer and I can tell you the first mistake you made is not contacting the purchase store, it is their responsibility to do all the leg work for you! This is what you pay for when you buy any product, the seller needs to be responsible. I am currently working on a 12 thousand dollar defect it's MY job not my customer. Turn to the seller it's their duty to take care of this for you! I am so sorry for your issues but this is not your fight
Laminate flooring
After 5 years, flooring is bubbling around edges in many spots around entire area that was covered. After Shaw sent their inspector over..it was "determined" moisture was the problem. They have declined any responsibility. It seems this is their standard response to any problems with their floors.

Had and installer install some Shaw laminate flooring. with in a week planks coming loose from locking system. some planks bulging up, few came loose after furniture put back into rooms. the installer did not understand why floors were coming loose had not had this problem before. he went online and found all these complaints and class action law suite. The company that sold me the product did not warn me of any problems that consumers were having with the products. I would think that Shaw would stand by there products and the warranty on the products. from what I have read they have not been very co-operative. I just had this installed and if I going to have the same and or worst I need to have this replaced with something that is better, before the real night mare starts.
We installed Shaw Laminate Style 0146U Color 00740
had the installer come back - everything was done exactly how it was supposed to be
and the weird thing is that it is buckling the in different areas - no correlation
all open area - one spot one plank by the door
one spot - in open area between island and back wall
one at the entrance to bedroom
but i am sure it is our fault somehow - got a list of things to check from SHAW - so i will make a LIST to not buy their product
Knowingly Producing Defective Products
SHAW Flooring makes all types of flooring. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. We purchased some of their laminate. We discovered a few defective pieces in the box. When we tried to return them for exchange or credit, SHAW's response was we could expect to get a piece or two of defective product whenever we purchase their products. I asked for a partial refund or an exchange. I was informed that if it was only a few pieces, they would not help. We would need to put together a full box of defective pieces in order for them to stand behind their products. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Their response was really, "Its not defective enough for them to care. GREAT was to do business. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS AGAIN, If you think this is made up, call them and ask.

warping bubbling
I installed shaw laminate flooring in my entire first floor of my house. Kitchen, sunroom, family room, 1st floor bedroom. Within 1 week it started bubbling, peeling, cracks. It is the most horrible product I have ever purchased. The company sent "independent inspector" - that is paid by them - who has determined it is the "moisture" level of my house or surface exposure. I told the sales people that I have 2 large dogs, 3 small kids, and my two elderly parents that live with me and that I needed the most durable product that exists. This product cannot withstand an extremely small (less than one inch diameter spot) of water for 5 minutes. So - if doing dishes and carrying a pot you are drying to the cabinet to put away - you cannot let a drop of water hit the floor for if you do and do not immediately wipe up - the floor will expand. Oddly though - there is even bubble spots in the bedroom area where there has never been one drop of water. You cannot clean it -
I have an armstrong laminate in my basement - for over 3 years now - kids play there - dogs run in from outside there - never one problem. DO NOT PURCHASE SHAW LAMINATE!

I had these people put me in a SHAW lamanate floor . Its a terrible install and they state its my fault. I am trying to contact SHaw Flooring. I would not let these people install a fence post for me after this. BUYER BEWARE .
Do not deal with Steve
Well, I have officially heard that like everyone else my claim has been denied. I have used Bruce cleaner in the specified manner from Shaw. I have not used my floor cleaner which has hurt me with my back issues. I have not abused this floor in the slightest. My only saving grace is that I was installing the floor in portions and I had been about to order the bedrooms, having paid for the first portion when this happened. I will be going to an attorney to plan once I have the report and the paperwork. While the cost of the flooring is still small claims amount, it would not be the first time I have taken on a giant and won on behalf of a whole bunch of consumers. That's because I am honest and the jury can see it in my eyes. I paid a fair price, I went with a professional installer. ignoring my health problems, I cleaned the floor as directed. I used commercial laminate products on the market today, a rubber maid spray microfiber mop and Bruce cleaner for laminate flooring per Shaw's advertising. Had steps as the inspector had said like "lightly spraying a fine mist of Shaw cleaner directly upon a microfiber mop and then gently wiping the floor with it" been necessary to keep the Shaw warranty valid, if it was on on Shaw advertising at all or not to use any laminate cleaner except Shaw, I would not have purchased the flooring. What I was told by Shaw was that I could not use a steamer and I could not use my floormate or do wet mopping on it: IE using a mop soaked with water and scrubbing the floor. Once the jury sees that you have to treat this floor with greater care than fine art, we will win.
With an attorney, they will charge about 40% of the amount that they receive. Since there is consumer fraud also which bumps the amount up in this state astronomically, there is the possibility that you will get more than just your floor. There is a possibility that you will not get more than the satisfaction of winning against Shaw and the attorney takes all. Or if the state gets involved, that many more people will be added once they get the customer warranty list from Shaw. Class actions have not been squashed.
Please send me copies and photos of your complaints. The email address is shaw_flooring_complaints@hotmail.com. I will also need the names, addresses and phone numbers of anyone who wishes to be in a class action against Shaw.
poor quality
Had Shaw Radiant Luster flooring installed in our new home back in September. DO NOT ever go with this company. The worst flooring I have ever had! It is supposed to have a 20 year warranty. They do not stand up to their warranties. In the last 6 months I have several spots where the floor is chipping, the joints are separating, one overlapped area, and...
Read full review of Shaw Floors and 9 commentsWood does not match sample
Selected an engineered hardwood floor from Shaw flooring. The installed product did not even come close to the sample board used to make the selection. Shaw would not send anyone out to review the installed product versus the sample. We had to send the sample board to them and they denied the claim. Even the installation company agrees that the prduct delivered did not match the sample. The sample showed subtle grain in shades of brown. Grain in wood delivered looked as though it had been attacked by a toddler with a black magic marker. We have 2 other rooms in our home with hardwood floors. We understand that individual boards will have differences in shade, color and grain, but the overall effect should be representative of the sample. It appears that Shaw is deliberately attempting to decieve, so buyer beware!

Same problem with carpeting. Two attempts at grey and both were green.
Defective Laminate
I was not surprised to see this complaint board listing identical complaints on the topic I am likewise experiencing. I will never purchase another SHAW product again! Shortly after a laminate floor installation, I noticed edge curling in a few areas but I figured the installer might have been a tad aggressive while interlocking sections of laminate. After 6 years (into a worthless warranty) I contacted the supplier and asked for a claim to be submitted. At this time, most of the seams are curling, there is no water even near most of them and the floor is cleaned on my hands and knees with no heavy use of water with all moisture promptly wiped up with a chamois. An inspector came out (a smart aleck) and I didn't hear another thing for a month. I finally contacted Shaw and they said the supplier was sent a written response. I contacted the supplier, the response was that the owner over wet the floor causing the damage. My wife and I are livid! SHAW totally turned from their warranty responsibility and in effect told me to go scratch. The floor looks horrible and anyone who asks what is wrong with the floor gets an ear-ful. If I see anyone near the SHAW displays at any flooring or big box store, I tell them that SHAW manufactures flawed products and won't stand behind their warranty.
Something that was interesting- I gave the factory the EXACT wording of the maintenance instructions from a product package insert (I still have two cases of laminate left from the job). I followed maintenance instructions exactly. They told me that their maintenance instructions were not worded in the way I described. I faxed the factory the insert and they do not know how those instructions got in their product. The product was shipped directly from a GERMAN manufacturer. There is NO DOUBT in my mind that SHAW LAMINATE is defective and will not last five years of light service.
DO NOT PURCHASE A SHAW MANUFACTURED PRODUCT! You will be kicking yourself within five years for sure!

I would never purchase Shaw again. Some areas stayed good while other areas look dull and the finish looks stripped. Inferior product overall. I clean correctly, wipe up small spills over seams right away and it still bubbled up. Wish I had never installed it.Money wasted and it wasn't inexpensive either.
Agree 100%.Put flooring down in Feb.2015 and in 2 wks. was bubbling and end seams lifting up.Shaw has a terrible locking system.Takes 2 people to lay a 4' plank and keep it from coming apart.A room that should have taken 1 day turned into several and now looks like it's been there for a decade.I laid a plastic folding table in front of a bedroom door on the laminate because I was painting the bedroom and left the table there overnight in front of the door and when I moved it the next day the laminate where the table sat was bubbled.I almost always read reviews on anything I buy but did not this time.Live and learn I guess. A terrible wate of time and money
Beware
I'm a most unhappy owner of a $15, 000 Shaw Laminate floor. After a little over a year, the edges of the boards are blistered and bubbled and the finish is starting to chip off. It looks to me as if it is a manufacturing defect where the laminate was improperly applied to the board. Not all the boards are affected, but a significant number of boards in...
