When buying a ticket from National Express, I was asked to press a discount button on my next purchase. At that time, this company copied my debit card details. In the last 2 months there were 4 transactions with £15 each.
I have not used discounts and do not want to be a member. I want a full refund of the account and termination of membership.

Shopper Discounts and Rewards unauthorized billing

I was enrolled without my authorization in Shoppers Discounts which has been deducting $10.00 from my credit card for the past six months. I called the phone # listed on my credit card transaction and cancelled my "membership" and was told I would be refunded for the six $10.00 payments in 3-5 business days. The customer service rep told me that I apparently clicked on a coupon for $10 off my next purchase (which I do not recall doing)after making an online purchase @ KBToys in December. He stated that when I clicked on the "coupon" (which I still don't remember doing), I was automatically enrolled in their service for a 30 day free trail. He says because the membership was not cancelled, I began getting billed for the service "as it clearly stated when I clicked on the $10.00 off my next purchase." I just contacted this company today 8/3/08.

I JUST FOUND $12 CHARGES ON MY CREDIT CARD FOR THE LAST 3 BILLINGS CYCLES AND NOT SURE HOW LONG THEY HAVE BEEN BILLING. I DID PURCHASE A DIGITAL CAMERA AT THE SAME DATE BUT NEVER SIGNED UP FOR THIS. I WILL BE DEMANDING A CREDIT TO MY ACCOUNT WHEN I AM ABLE TO CALL THEM THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK. THIS IS A SCAM AND THE FTC OR SOMEONE NEEDS TO PUT A STOP TO THIS BILLING AND THEY SHOULD BE HEAVILY FINED AND MADE TO PAY THE INTEREST TO THE CONSUMERS WHO WHERE CHARGED FOR THIS AMOUNT.

I also have been scammed from the shopper's discount company. I began noticing $12.00 being taken out of my account and I am sure it has been ongoing for months. BUYERS BEWARE! Read all information during ANY transactions online! I am getting reimbursed for the amount I noticed however I am not sure how much in total they have stolen from me. I am going to report them to the BBB! Please do the same and hopefully we can put these nuts out of business!

Shopper Discounts and Rewards Unauthorized charges

When booking a flight with www.easyjet.com, the website asks you if you want to save £10.00 on your booking. If you click "yes", it re-directs you to the Shopper Discounts and Rewards website. They ask you for your email address, and while you think it is some type of newsletter you are signing for, what you are really doing is signing on for a direct debit of £8.00 a month, from the same credit card that you used to pay your flight. You don't have to give them any details, only your email address. I am sure they get the information from Easyjet. It took me 3 months to actually realise that they were charging me this monthly amount on my credit card. When you phone them to cancel, they are ready for it, they even have a cancellation automated service (I bet they get quite a high rate of cancellation). After cancelling, I tried to talk to an operator, who read me a 10 minutes speech about how it was my fault and I should have read the small print. When you phone them, they are ready for it, I bet they get lots of phone calls from people as upset as I was. I finally got them to refund 2 payments they took from my credit card, so I suppose they are not doing anything completely illegal, but in my opinion it is definitely immoral. I haven't got any service for this money they took from me, and I wasn't even aware that I signed for this service in the first place. People, be aware! And about Easyjet, who I considered a reputable company, the only thing I can say is that I am very disappointed with them for associating with this type of company, and I will avoid flying with easyjet in the future, as they lost my trust on them as a customer.

By the way, this company changes its name constantly. shopdisc.co.uk, shopperdisc.co.uk or shopperdiscounts.co.uk may have appeared on your statement. Check them out in the internet. There are a few interesting reviews from USA.

This is a scam that happens when you make a purchase at online at sites such as musinotes.com as I did. There is a quick pop-up that you barely have time to see, let alone read.

Report them to better business bureau as will I. they automatically start charging your credit card on a monthly basis. I spoke with my credit card company (Discover) and the lady I spoke with told me she had a complaint against this company last week and the poor person had been scammed since 2017.

I see a major judgment when that axe falls on this outfit.

shopper discounts and rewards have been taking money out of my bank monthly without permission. here the email i sent them. i'm awaiting a response:
I have noticed on my bank statement that i pay £10.00 around the 7th of each month to you. I have not set up a direct debit or standing order with you and therefore do not see how you can take a monthly payment without my permission. i have informed hsbc who are investigating the situation as fraud. i have also noticed that many people have 'signed up ' for this payment whilst purchasing something on the internet but all have been unaware that this is a monthly payment. i want a full refund of all the monies taken so far and will be posting my complaint on chat forums, facebook, my space and twiitter in order to make the public aware of your skam. i'm sure you have found a clause in the law somewhere so that your activity is not illegal, but i have notified my bank and they are treating it as fraudulant. i would like someone to contact me immediately regarding a full refund - i did not give anyone permission to take money out of bank each month.
This is robbery - how do they get away with it. my bank say it is not a direct debit nor standing order so how can they repeat the transaction month afetr month?

A few months ago I had bought a pair of headphones from buy.com that were a ridiculously good deal. So good that they died two months later. I shrugged it off since returning them would probably have been fruitless since I had thrown away my receipt. I just considered myself out the twenty bucks, and learned a lesson about too-good-to-be-true deals.

Last night, though, I was checking my debit card statement and noticed that I had been charged 12$ from "SHOPPER DISCOUNTS". I had no idea what this was, but saw I had been billed multiple months. So I entered their name into gmail and saw that I had gotten two emails many months ago from them that went directly to my spam box. Apparently I had an account, and upon scanning the ultra-fine print I saw that this "membership" involved a 12$ monthly fee.

After some googling, I find that this is linked to a 10$ off coupon that I must have clicked upon check out at buy.com. Once I clicked it shopperdiscountsandrewards.com got all of my billing information from buy.com. Some people have said that I am at least partially to blame for not reading the fine print next to the link. Of course shopperdiscountsandrewards.com uses people's lack of attention to get them to sign up, then snags your credit information from the site that directed you there, and then hopes you won't notice when they charge you. The part that gets me is that I know I didn't input any personal or billing information for the site to charge, they had to get it from my original order. Over all it seems pretty underhanded.

The bright side of this is that I was able to cancel my membership and get a refund by calling their customer service line [[protected]]. I hate talking to customer service people, but the lady I spoke to was very nice about it, and didn't try to refute my claim. I'm guessing from all the other complaints I've read she must be used to it. Well, add my complaint to the pile.

Yes, I too was scammed in the same way, Easyjet led me too them via their website and being on a "trusted" website and just being pleased to have completed the booking process without stuffing up, I guess I was vulnerable. This they do all for a sleazy kickback no doubt - the offer of a voucher, halfway through the process I realised as a visitor to the UK that I would not be able to use it and abandoned the process, I still received the bogus charge on my credit card a month later. It's nice that they give you a month for "free" - am I being cynical or is it just to distance the charge from the activity so you don't notice it? Or less likely to associate it with Easyjet.
It's a lowdown dirty scam and the companies that are facilitating it on their websites are immoral. Easyjet will doubtless blame the oil prices and the downturn in the economy when they go to the wall in 12-18 months (as every poorly managed airline always does), but any idiot can see that if you abuse your customer loyalty like this, your customers are just going to walk. I will never fly with them again.

Shopper Discounts and Rewards Credit card scam

I’ve been monitoring my daughter’s credit card statements since she left for college last Fall. In February 2008, I found a charge from “Shopper Discounts [protected] CT” for $12 and didn’t think much of it because I thought she had ordered something online. During subsequent three months, I noticed the same charge in every credit card statement but still neglected to ask my daughter about it. I finally asked her in May when she came home for the summer. She had no idea what they were. I contacted her credit card company and was told they couldn’t remove the charges. So I called Shopper Discounts at [protected]. Their representative told me that my daughter signed up for the service when she ordered sandwiches online from Campusfood.com. I asked them to cancel the membership and gave me full refunds which they did. The man on the phone didn’t seem to be surprised at all. It was as though he had received a phone call like mine a million times before. I decided to google Shopper Discounts and found numerous complaints on this company. They went by several variations of names, e.g., WLI RESERVATOINSREWARD [protected] CT, WLI SHOPPERDISCOUNT [protected] CT, etc. The scam is always the same. What happens is that after your transaction of purchasing something online, there would a pop-up question: “Would you like to save $10 on the next purchase? or Would you like to receive a $10 coupon?” or something along that line. If you click "yes, " they automatically receive your credit or debit card information from the company you purchase from, and sign you up for the scam. It will become a monthly recurring charge on your credit or debit card. I believe they are still in business because they make it easy for people to cancel the membership and get a full refund so nobody would bother to report it to the BBB.

I noticed this company charging ten pounds from my account after I had join as a member, but I had not agreed to any membership charge. In their advertising there is no mention of this charge. I was actually mislead into thinking this would be a free membership. This has to be corrected so that others will not be scammed.

When I researched this I seemed to get caught into this from a link on Ryan Air site.

The monthly fee was unclear and 4 month later I have cancelled what I didn't realised was a £10 monthly fee membership.

There are many discount and reward sites that do not charge a fee, why is this one different?

Is there anything that can be done to get the money back?

I recently bought tickets from ticketmaster and was offered a £10 discount, which I agreed to, I did not realize they would be taking £10 a month from my account every month!

Shopper Discounts and Rewards Membership scam

I received my discover card statement and had a recurring charge for 12.00 per month for two different .com listings that turned out to be the same company. I called the discover people and the said I signed up for this when I booked a flight for my son in the army to come home on leave. I told them I did no such thing and they said it was automatic! I knew I had been scammed and it had been going on for two months. My wife does the bill paying and thought it was a service fee related to the flight we bookies and did not tell me about it. I did not learn about it till the second month of charges! I put the charges in dispute and called the company and told them to cancel the alleged membership. I started looking up this company and the list of complaints is impressive. I urge anyone who does anything business on line to look out for this scam and I hope some law enforcement or regulatory agency gets on the case. I can easily see how these charges can go unnoticed!

I have just noticed a charge of £10.00 monthly going out of my account through my debit card. As this can't be cancelled through the card, I have been told I need to contact the company. I DID NOT agree to this monthly charge, I have no idea where or who shopperdiscount are and don't know where to get in touch with them!

Any ideas, anyone?

Sheryl

re to unsubscribe from shoppersdiscount.com Ring [protected] they are very helpful and are perhaps used to such requests. My bank advised me to post date the wish/need to unsubscribe by 3 months which shoppersdiscount.com immediately accepted and refunded with a follow up email

I also was conned these thieves, I bought an item from House Of Bath. On checking my statement I saw a monthly charge of £10 every month. I most certainly did NOT give my bank details to S.D. so just HOW do they get my details, surely this has to be against the law? I see from searching on the internet there are thousands of similar complaints, isn't it about time Trading Standards stepped in and stopped these scammers?
