Simply Comfort Billing

On 3rd January 2023, there were three deductions from my bank accounts for three services. I doubt the amount is more. Called and talked to an agent on 4th January 2023. After checking, he told me the deduction is more than required 117 C$ approximately. I need a confirmation on that by email. Secondly to list me for E billing, so before deduction receieve the bill on my email.

Simply Comfort furnace

I have a maintenance contract with them for home equipment's and appliances. My furnace stopped working since Last Saturday, I reported on Saturday itself.
The technician came on Monday, he advised to replace the electric board. He mentioned this will be ordered ASAP. Since then I am keep following about the part but haven't received the confirmation when the Part will be ordered and furnance will be fixed
They are asking me to make some payment, which I agreed as per the contract terms.
The outside temperature is around 35 C and I have no cooling at home. I have called them 6-8 times to find out the resolution date but no confirmation so far.

Simply Comfort payment plan for a/c

I just found out from costumer service for Simply Comfort that my contract for a 10 year payment plan on a monthly basis for a central air conditioner has been bought out by a financial organization called Crown Crest Capital (CCC). I agreed to pay $89.99 plus the HST per month for 10 years in the summer of 2016. Now, I have to pay $93.58 plus HST per month and I was told that this amount is subject to increases to be decided by CCC, an organization I did not make an agreement with.

I am willing to be reasonable and pay the $89.99 plus HST that I had agreed to in the summer of 2016. I hope this matter can be resolved in way that I originally agreed to.

That is what I notice on my bills as well. The prices keep adding up quite so often. The Government needs to step in and do something about these companies that go door to door and fluke customers. I am so sorry now that I was duped and switched from Reliance. The water softener they install with claims that one would use less soap and that the water is pure to drink is quite false. I use much more soap than before.

Yes, they keep increasing my prices which I did not agree to in the contract. This is a hijacking! Car leases don't go up whenever the heck the dealer wants, why should it go up on furnaces/ AC units? Totally unethical and unfair!

Simply Comfort Lien put on my home without being told

Last December (2015) my furnace died and I needed to get a furnace right away as it was winter time. I looked online and called the first company that seemed reputable. I called Simply Comfort and they came right away to check my furnace to tell me it needed to be replaced. They offered to remove the old furnace and install a new furnace all within the same day/night at no charge to me. They told me that a new furnace costs about $6000, which I could not pay all at once, so they told me I could easily make monthly payments on a rent-to-own contract. As I was desperate and it was the weekend, I agreed to their offer. I was really between a rock and a hard place because I had a 2-year old in the house and I could not go without heat for several days until I could figure out some other option.
The way the salesperson explained it to me was that I would be renting the furnace but it would eventually be mine, i.e. rent-to-own. They did not verbally disclose to me that they would be putting a lien on my house. They did not verbally disclose to me that I would have to make 120 payments of roughly of $100.00 per month and if I want to buy out the contract I would have to pay for any remaining unpaid months from the 120 months. Therefore the furnace would end up costing me $12, 000! And if I stay with the contract, after payment 120 months or $12, 000, I would still have to pay a buy-out amount to keep the furnace, which could be several thousand dollars more! How in God's name is this fair to the consumer?
The only reason I found out that I have a lien on my house is because I applied for a loan at the bank and they advised me of it. I believe that a company should not be allowed to do such things as this is simply underhanded and unethical.
Their defence is that it is all in the contract but they obviously know that most people do not read contracts from start to finish, nor would they understand everything that is written because contracts are usually drafted in legalese language. If they were to disclose what they are really doing, no one would ever agree to a contract that forces you to pay almost 3 times what the furnace is worth, let alone have a lien put on their house!
When I called Simply Comfort, they told me they can provide a Security Postponement so the bank can process my loan but my bank still does not want to give me my loan because they know the lien will be put back on. My bank told me they want to be the only one that has a lien on my house. This company has put me in such a bad position and I cannot understand why there is no legislation against companies doing this to consumers. Please, I need help with this. I cannot sleep since yesterday when I found out about the lien on my house and since I already suffer from anxiety attacks I am afraid this will bring on another one.

Simply Comfort Excessive, harassing telemarketing calls

Simply Comfort has called my home now for a month, never leaving a message or name and calls before 9am and up till 9pm. I have called multiple times to complain and request they stop calling and remove my number. Each time I am reassured this will be done and it never is. I called again today for the last time. I requested to speak with a manager and again was told the managers were in a meeting and not available. I requested to speak to the retention dept but was told they didn't have such a dept, obviously the customer service person had no idea what retention meant. I refused to except their standard line "we'll look after this" and demanded to speak to someone in management now!
I got another incompetent person who gave me the same standard line they will stop calling my home. I informed this person I am tired of the excessive telemarketing calls and demanded they stop today. SIMPLY COMFORT HOME SERVICES is not a professionally run company and they are not ever going to get my business now! I blocked their number but it still rings twice before disconnecting. I am fed up with them and will make sure to tell everyone I know not to use this company.
