SmartStyle rude employees

Recently I took my son into the walmart salon.. that was my first mistake. My son is 15 and he is growing his hair out like alot of the boys are today the shaggy look. Well needless to say shaggy isn't what we got. It was more like the stylist Tammy place a bowl on his head and cut it. It was horrible. It took her 45 min to just cut the edges into the bowl shape. I was watching her while she was doing this because I could tell my son was not happy and it was taking to long for this haircut. As I was watching her she seem to be drifting off into space just combing his hair over and over again as though she was trying to figure out what to cut next. Finally I had enough and I ask for someone to help her with this haircut. OMG! I think they had taught one another how to cut hair. The second stylist name Shannae came over to assist ...lets just say that was her plan. She had no clue where to even begin she combed and played with his hair for at least 10 mins as though she was trying to master a great plan. Well enough is enough I told them they where done and I would not pay for such a horrible haircut I could of done this at home in 5 min. So we left and went to another salon down the street where I had told them what had just happened the lady there fixed my sons hair in 10 mins it looked wonderful. Why doesn't Smart Styles take a little more pride in there stylist. Train them a little more and work on customer service so I guess calling them a stylist really is the word I would use. More like losers.

As for the color mishab alot of the stylist that work at smart styles are straight out of beauty school so they dont know alot. Smart styles targets beauty schools. Green hair would freak them out being they probably used a green based color like ash instead of a neutral color. As far as working there. I worked there for awhile and got fired for breaking my foot and them wanting me to be 100 percent in less than a week. then my horrible area supervisor piled like 70 hours on me and told me i could work it or be fired. I couldnt work it. I should have sued them for not followoing labor law. They work you to death there and could careless about you and you have to bring in double your base pay to make commission of a whopping 40 percent that only equals your base pay or a few dollars more. Thats 100 percent mark up just to have a job. you would be better off homeless than working there.

Honestly you people need to get a life their is nothing wrong with that salon and you seriously need to grow up those hair dressers are trying their hardest to please some you pain in the ### clients that come in with your grubby ### hair and expect us to work miricles just so you know WERE NOT GOD we cant fix your UGLY if you expect better then go somewhere else and stop talking ###!

Today I took my daughter into the Walmart salon to have her hair colored. OMG! what a mistake. I told the hairstylist what she recently did to her hair with other haircolors, and since the salon is suppose to have professionals I thought she would know what to do for her. I guess I was wrong.. My daughters hair turned out green, needless to say she didn't even know how to fix it neither did the other lady in there. They had to get on the phone and call someone to figure out how to help her. Finally, they put a lifter on her hair to remove what she'd done. I know this is not entirely the stylist fault, but as a professional she should have known better. After three hours of sitting in the chair we were charged the full price of $44.95, and she looked the same as when she walked in! Not even an apology or a rate cut was given for her mess up..I will never go back to the Walmart salon..

I started working at smart styles last week and I will same I have never been treated so badly by the manager in my 27 yrs as a stylist The customers felt bad for me THis is at north mrytle beach HOpefully the company will realize that salon in that location for 5yrs should be doing better then that

SmartStyle drunk hair stylist

I took my two year old son to SmartStyle the Salon inside the walmart store since we had some shopping to do and and his hair was over his eyes. My son has red-blonde hair and it's a shaggy cut which we love because he's just adorable

I got my hair cute at a smart style today in El Reno okahoma. I just moved here about a week ago, so i had no knowlage of any other salon in the area. I went to smart style thinking since they were in wal-mart they would be okay. As I found out that was not the case! The "stylest" if thats what you called it was very rude, she argued with me that my hair was green! (obviously most smart style employees ARE blind!) Even though my hair is blonde and far from green, i still let her do my hair, seeing i really didnt have much of a choice after the first snip. She also made faces as she was cutting my hair, (guessing the so called green hair was just gross) anyway i once again ignored it making sure to take her name to report just how rude she was. I asked her if she could thin my hair, because it is very thick and annoying, she then as if the rest wasnt enough argued that she would not thin my hair! and left it at that. I was so shocked at how I was treated I was at a loss of words, could barley speak! After I took a deep breath and thought about what just happend i asked her why she wouldnt thin my hair. she then and only then decided she would give me a reason that it would make my hair "big"... I then told her that it would not matter that i knew how i wanted MY hair done. So i guess out of the kindness of her heart she decited to "thin" my hair. (which was a snip here and there) anyway i finally got something like what I wanted or at least what she wanted. So i payed for my haircut that im not to happy about. I came home and called the 1 800 number to complain. Hopefully they will do something about this nut job of a stylest that works for them. I vowe to never get my hair cut there again! And I will make sure to tell as many people that I can about how I was treated!

I went yesterday to get a hair cut and did the same thing to me inside Walmart in Pembroke Pines ...I called the company to make a complain and hope they do something about it! This lady was not drunk but was blind and deaf I showed her a picture of the hair cut I wanted and she just hacked off my hair ! and she was even laughing about it I got really upset because of that. They should double check who work for them and if they qualify.

I work at a Smart Style. I am professional enough to repeat a request back to my client so that misunderstandings are cleared up before the cut begins; I wish your stylist had done this. I am sorry this happened to you in a salon that I represent. Unfortunately, it is a corporation-based salon, and not all stylists are created equal; we have educated and knowledgable people working here as well as the ignorant/drunk/careless ones. The corporation just hires enough people to fill its stations, and sometimes the customer pays the price!

SmartStyle Poor customer service!

I got my hair done about 6 weeks ago.Color and cut. I went back 1 month later with a appt (. for touch ups). I was told to do this. So it wont cost as much to get my hair done. I went in the lady sitting on the chair talking on her phone. Would not help me. She said my hair did not gow out enough. And went back to talking on her phone. I asked her what products they had for my hair to make it soft and shiny. She told me to go some where else and buy products. And she resumed with her phone call. I went back again last night at same time 2 weeks later. I asked her if my hair was ready she said she did not have enough time it was 6:30. They are open until 9:00. Guess what she was doing sitting on the chair talking on her phone. She did not even hang up her cell phone when I walked in. I asked her if she would do my hair now she said no not enough time. she said I needed to call. I said you have turned me away 2times. I was VERY VERY ANGRY! There was no other customers there. All she wants is to sit and talk on the phone and get paid. I will go somewhere else and get my hair done from now on. I thought customers always come first. Not her friends on the phone.

i took my 9 year old daughter to the salon in commderce ga. The lady that cut her hair was irritated at something the whole time...don't know what here problem was but she couldn't stop rolling her eyes and shaking her head...my daughter was very still...so it wasn't the child. then my daughter ended up with a gapped up hair cut. she also told my daughter she better be still or she was gonna mess up her hair...my daughter never moved. i email smart style corp about this...they sent me a 1.00 coupon...what an insult what a joke...I will never go there again. Not to mention we were never greeted, my daughter showed the lady what she wanted out of the book all she said was o.k. so 2 words the whole time we were there o.k. and our total for the cut...What i should have done was stopped the lady and went somewhere else...I will never let anything like this happen again...and i will not recommmend this salon .

i went to walmart smart styles 2/24/09 the stylist did not listen to a word i said fried my hair so being i was a stylist i will take matters into my own hands and report it to the state board i will also contact a atty sb alamogordo n.m.

I use to be a regular customer at the Smart Style salon in Milledgedville, Ga. In the last few months I`ve noticed the salon is closed for business long after opening hours are in effect. There seems to be a lack of responsibility and customer satifaction. I went in to purchase a hair cair product 3/22 after noticing they were opened. I stood at the register with my purchase, money in hand. The stylist, had 1 customer she was working on. All I wanted to do was pay and leave. She stared at me and never came over to ring me up. She never even spoke or welcomed me in the salon! I stood there a good 10 mins. Finally I said the heck with it and walked out! There were times where the stylist would excuse herself from cutting my hair to ring up a customer, this should have happened with me as well. Very poor customer service in my book! Too bad some of the good stylist are gone now.

I visited smart style on may 23, 2007 at 10:15 a. M. To get an adult cut. I told the stylist that I wanted only 3 inches taken off from the bottom and if she could layer my hair. You wouldn't believe what I got!

I am 22 years old and love my long hair... I mean long; down to my lower back. I only wanted to take a little off because those three inches were getting nappy. What in the world did she do so that I would have to complain? The stylist shampoos my hair and then cuts my hair just below my shoulders! No, no she doesn't stop there. She continues with the layers and let me tell you, I got layers alright, 2 defined ones.

She kept the lower portion of my hair shoulder length and then she just cut an upper portion 3 1/2 inches shorter! If that wasn't bad enough, she continues to cut my hair by pulling it to the side and cutting at an angle. The stylist then proceeds to leave my hair wet, and I had to ask her to blow dry it... Like I want to walk around wal-mart with wet hair. When she did blow dry it and I got to look in the mirror, I noticed how short it was and didn't say anything. I should have.

I did not know how horrible she had cut my hair until may 23, 2007 at 7:30 a. M. I took a mirror so I could see the back of my hair and I was horrified to see how defined the 2 layers were. Then, I look at the front of my hair and the right side is longer then the left!

There is nothing I can do now. A refund is not going to get the 10 inches of my hair back.

$13.95 at a salon in wal-mart. what do you people honestly expect? Try paying $30-50 for a haircut and you'll see the difference. You pay for what get.

I took my son in to get a cut and couldn't get waited on, we waited over an hour and watched them get a friend ahead of us.August of 2008 that was the last time I have darkened their door. they used to be a great place to get a cut but now I don't even know if they have a manager . I am so sorry about your hair that would make you cry

SmartStyle no customer service!

I went into SmartStyle Hair Salon which is located inside of Wal-Mart for a haircut which includes a shampoo for the price stated.

I had to wait first of all for about 30 minutes and there was only one stylist working and she only had one customer she was styling. Then when she finally got to me she asked me how I wanted my hair cut and when I told her she said she was not comfortable using the razor to cut my hair because, she cut herself often and preferred to used the scissors and then she cut my hair and never offer me a shampoo. I was so frustated by this time and in so much back pain that I decided to let it slide. She asked me if I wanted her to blow dry my hair and I told her yes because, I had some shopping to do at Wal-Mart. She spent no more than 3 minutes drying my hair and use no styling tools when she was drying it.

The real kicker of this story is that when I got up to the register to pay she charged me an additional $3 for drying it and I asked her shouldn't the drying be free since I did not receive my shampoo and she said no because, the company required her to charge the additional fee if she used to blow dryer. My hair was still wet when I left there and I ended up paying $15.95 for a cut I am not happy with instead of $12.95 and got cheated out of my shampoo.

I will not be going back to SmartStyle ever again and advise anyone who does to watch out because, customer service is what I call no customer service.

Worst haircut I have ever had. The side was sticking out Said something about it to the stylist and she said “oh that’s because it was just cut”, I said I have never had this problem before. She didn’t listen to when I told her how I wanted it cut. I was over charged for a bad hair cut. I gave them a second chance but I will never go back to them

This stylist, Shannon is Coshocton Ohio, chopped my hair! I told her just wanted it cut behind my ears before I knew it my hair was cut to the scalp! Of course the other stylist Connie stuck up for her but she was lieing! I said I wasn't paying and she said I I HAD TO PAY! as if it was a million dollars or they'd call the cops on me so I did to avoid the hassle. When I got home I called after looking more at my hair and Connie said she call her Manager and told her how rude me and my daughter was..first of all my daughter never said a word, and second I wasn't rude just upset and said I didn't think I had to pay. I took the survey and had a reply to tell her more info I told to go back and read the survey it was all in there.. the reply came back and she didn't give me her email address..after going back to the survey and explaining what happened I got a reply from another person who gave me my refund! finally after all this crap..it wasn't worth the $13 but I didn't think they should get by with it...BTW I was never offered a shampoo or blow dry! By far the worst hair styling salon I ever went to in my 55 years!

Went to get hair cut &color on Sat. Sep 23 around 11 a.m Was told 10% discount for seniors - so total 66.00. I said it was too steep and said so but the blond hairdresser said prices have gone up since last I was there. She cut half inch, then did a lousy job of coloring - color was lighter then asked and cheapest tone imaginable. She then shampood & conditioned and blow dried quickly. Hair was sill damp in places and bangs were poorly trimmed. Hard to see difference before and after. Hair length looked same as before. No styling material was used - hair looked flat. Hair color looked dull. I could have done a better job on my hair then this idiot who passes herself as a hairdresser and charged me outrageous price for doing zero work! Management should fire her and reimburse my money. Never going back again. Please don't go there

I go in once a month for a haircut and style. My usual amount is $17.00. Today I was charged $10 for conditioner, which I did not ask for. My bill was $27.50. My haircut was not what I had requested. It is blocked in the back and I specifically asked for fringe. It was cut too short on the sides and sticks out. It was poofed on the top and I made the hairdresser knock it down so I didn't look like a 60 year old punk rocker. I will no longer return to this store for services or products. There are 11 other hair salons in Greencastle and I will be looking at their services instead.

I worked as a manager for a smartstyle salon for two years. After a restructure with the company owned by Regis and many good upper managers we're let go, I received the worse woman ever who walked around on her high horse, pretending she's holier than now with no formal education from a business school, college or ect besides maybe a high school diploma. She came right into my salon threatening me, discriminating against me because I am a male, calling me names while slandering my professional image. Besides that this woman (Angela barns) would put employees on 3 hour shifts. Demanding the presence of staff for meetings that are off the clock, unscheduled, and unpaid for and if they don't so up it is held highly against them. She did nothing but cAuse chaos where ever she went, insulting each stylist and manager. She falsified documentation and exaggerates truth and fiction. She allows stylists to steal from customers and the salons even when if has been brought to her attention. I have never been so violated by an unprofessional manager ever. This woman needs to be held accountable for her wrong doings. I will not support or say anything positive of a company that supports this behavior as professional.

When I first entered I was not even acknowledged as a paying customer, I sat and waited for an hour and never being addressed to
the hair-cut was very bad and I'm requesting a full refund, I to tell the stylist how to cut and still didn't get it right!

I have been working with the company on and off since the doors opened march 17 2004. Im a great stylist and I ENJOY DOING MY JOB!Im havinga problem with discrimination. we recently got a new manager Tana Rawlerson and to start im the only african american thats currently working at smartstyles #125 and ive gotten several complaints brought to me by caucasian customers that while at the salon having services done my charater was being torn down by the manager and other stylists. Smartstyles is suppose to be a professinal work place that customers and employees should enjoy coming to. I feel as if the manager shows favortism to the other caucasian employees. I have tried to overlook the things ive heard from customers and the favortism towards the other stylist but its to the point that working has become very stressful and im almost to the point where i hate going to work.therefore i am filing this complaint in the hope thet someone can help me with this problem before it goes any further. I went walmart salon regis did my hair a hi-light and a low-light and ronda the master stylist and manger did my hair bad my six year old could have done better also they make you sign a legal form so you cant do crap about it i think all people should never give them business protest them the customer service said take pics and write a letter and they would refund i did that and they said because i signed their legal form that i was not getting any thing see them in court. haha they can pay my lawyers fee and more.

SmartStyle sex in the back room!

About three weeks ago me and my 2 yr old daughter went it to a smart style located in side Walmart in Dickson, TN.

This was supposd to be a exciting time for my daughter it was her first hair cut instead it tured out to be a nightmare for her during the course of the hair cut my 2 yr old was giving a sucker because she was being so good after the hair cut i asked if there was some where i could wash her hands one of the ladies told me that i could take her to the back room i then opened the door and to my surprise there was two ladies in the back room having sex the manager had another lady on the washier with her pants down pass her ankles. I have contated john biggs of the corporate office with little to none results the manager of this store is still there to think they gave her the presidents award with all expense paid trip to greece this is how smartstyle/regis rewards managers who have sex in the stores on company time.

In case everyone hasn't noticed let me point out to you the date of this complaint. The date was October 2006 since then Smartstyle has had a new manager. She is in no way like these allegations made about the previous manager. I noticed the complaint just says manager, not a name. Just dont thimk it is right that anyone would think this about the previous manager when she has never done anything like that. I just think its right to clear her name for all the people that do not know her.

wow, that it is totally awesome. i would have thought it was my lucky day. no question if you would have asked to join in, i am sure they would have enjoyed the kinky idea. sad thing is you had your child with you, so missed out. better luck next time. please let us know if you catch these ladies doing it in the backroom again. perhaps others could join in on the fun

I am about to graduate cosmetology school and was thinking of working there. I didn't go to school for 15 months to have to bend over for the manager, who happens to be a woman. lol
