Haircut/ Wash
8/28/22 around 1130 i went to the Savannah GA location for a cut, she was with a client so i had to wait, not an issue for me.
I had said on the phone i wanted a wash and cut, did not get the wash.
When i got in the chair though i showed a photo of what i wanted, basically a bob shorter in the back longer in the front type deal, and she absolutely butchered my hair. I told her i have naturally curly hair and she still cut straight across and it is barely to my chin straightened. Not at all like the photo i showed her, think dora the explorer meets coconut head from Ned's declassified.
my hair was at my shoulders when i went in.
It's also extremely uneven, especially in the back. One side of the back of my hair has a chunk missing the other is long and then theres a small piece in the middle thats longer than both sides.
Desired outcome: Refund
The photo I showed her versus what I got, the back is a mess it looks worse when I bend my head down.thankfully the black hair and curls kinda help hide it if I style it just right but I shouldn’t have to do that every day to hide it.

I took my 12 yo daughter in for a scheduled haircut into the salon on August 22, 2022 at 3:00pm in Sikeston, Missouri. The woman who was at the register did not greet us, nor did the stylist we had the appt with, who happened to still be with a client. After a minute of standing there I let the woman know we were there for an appointment. She got my daughters name wrong which is not a big deal at all, but in correcting herself, she called herself retarded, loudly enough for others around us to hear and turn our direction. I was shocked and extremely appalled. I have a special needs child at home, and just so happened to not bring them with me today, thankfully. I also know and love many individuals who are special needs and mentally handicapped. I would never use the word ‘retard’ as it so inappropriate, but especially in a derogatory way with a negative connotation behind it. I ended up waiting 10 mins and was so disappointed and uncomfortable that I left. We were never greeted, never given an explanation that it would be a while past our scheduled appt time, etc. Those are minor things to some, but in this industry which I myself work in, a little bit of kindness goes a long way. A simple explanation of needing to wait beyond our appt time would’ve been accepted positively and understood. I am so disappointed there are actually people still using this language and with no regard for others. I am extremely disappointed and will never return to this location again.
Desired outcome: I would love if this seasoned employee were given a crash course of proper human interaction, and if the manager would greet their clients or anyone in that place would greet the clients for that matter.
Fried hair from perm

Smartstyle Salon – Buckeye AZ
On August 2nd I went to the Buckeye, AZ Smartstyle salon for a perm. My hair was waist length. After my perm I agreed to a trim. The trim went from my waist to my shoulders. That was more than a trim. But I can deal with that. What I can not deal with is what it did to my hair. My hair doesn’t even have a curl except for my bangs. The rest of my “entire” hair looks like a fried horse’s tail. I have tried to resolve this at the salon level. All they will do is “trim it more and condition it.” They already trimmed 8” off my hair! That is NOT acceptable. If it is trimmed any more, I will NOT be able to hid my fried “horse tail” tucked under a hair clamp. Keep in mind it’s an uneven trim, which I’m dealing with that as well. As for, conditioning it, I have used licensed only intensive Oplex conditioner and I leave it in ALL day. I have used it 15 straight days and continue to use it daily. I still have a fried horses tail and not even a curl. I now have to live with this monstrosity for at next 5 years for it to all grow out. Like I said I have talked to the salon manger, Susan at the Avondale, AZ location who stated she talked to district manager, and they will not refund my $170. On your salon receipt it clearly states:
“We guarantee your satisfaction with ALL services within 30 days”.
When I talked to Susan, the salon manger in Avondale for the Buckeye location, She said district told her no refund. I asked for district’s number and the name of that person. She refused that info and stated she would have him call me. And yet no call from the district manager.
At this point I’m taking it up with my credit card company. I also plan to file a complaint with the BBB, Consumer Insurance Commissioner of AZ and the Arizona Board of Cosmetology.
I have a wedding to attend in November. I cannot attend unless I wear a baseball cap, which won’t happen. So I will be missing that wedding all together.

Hair color
Went to a smart style for a hair color. I thought the professional lady was going to do it but turns out they had some kid who doesn't even have a license come up and do my hair. He had sweatpants on with his buttcrack hanging out and was not listening to what I wanted at all. He did what he wanted. Needless to say the 3 colors of highlights I asked for did not even show on my hair and one of the colors is the same color as my hair. I kept telling him that I don't see any of the colors but he kept insisting it was the lighting. If someone gets bright blonde highlights you'll see them regardless of the light. He kept saying he doesn't follow directions when mixing the colors and so forth. Completely a [censored]. I really would like my $90 back. This is a bust. One of the other highlights are purple and it doesn't show at all. I showed him a exact picture of the chunky highlights and he did real small ones. Please return my money.

Hair appointment
I made an appointment with smart style in Moundsville, WV for today 08/19 at 11am. I made this appointment a week ago and took time off work for this appointment. I get here for my appointment and the salon is closed and the lights are off. Of course there’s no number other than the salon number to contact anyone. I’m furious to know that i took time off for this appointment and no one is here. It is now 20 minutes past my appointment and no one is still here. This is the most ridiculous experience I have ever had with any salon. At least call someone to let them know they will not be here and reschedule the appointment. Worst customer service ever to just not give a crap to contact customers who are giving you business and would continue to do so going forward. I’m sure this will also be a waste of my time and I won’t hear from anyone. Thank you for wasting my time and also taking money out of my pocket from missing work and now having to take more time off to go somewhere to get it done. WHAT A JOKE!

I scheduled appointment by calling the location a day before associate put me on the schedule for 10 AM with the stylist I requested saying she has no one perfect timing it was scheduled. I drove for 40 minutes arrived she was busy with another customer said she was running late it would be another hour at 11 that she was able to start my color. After the color was washed out of my hair she towel patted my hair and said OK. I asked her if we were done she said yes did you wanna blow dry I said yes it was raining and cold outside and I did not want to catch a cold. Blow dried my hair a bit. I then was waiting for her to get the color dye off of my hairline head and ears she told me hand sanitizer will do the trick I asked her do you have hand sanitizer to take it off my head my face she said oh sorry no. I did not have my contacts or glasses on when I left my husband pick me up I have dye all over the hairline of my face ears head had to cancel my appointments because I cannot be seen in public right now until I get home 40 minutes away to put hand sanitizer on my hairline and ears. I called her back in desperation and to tell her that her service is unacceptable and if she could help me she told me I need to go elsewhere and will not be disrespected because I have dye on my ears I will include the photos as I sat in the car and had my husband do all of the errands for the entire day because I can’t get out of the car.

Completely screwed up my hair
I went to your salon on Friday July 8th of 2022.. upon my arrival I explained I wanted the layers in my hair trimmed and needed a simple updo for a wedding I was in later that afternoon.. when I sat down they told me the would trim up all my layers this did not happen the stylist cut only two small spots in the back of my head leaving it look like I had a horseshoe cut in the back of my head before she did the updo she did not show me what my hair looked like so I could make sure it was cut to my standards of how I always have my hair cut.. the updo that was done to my hair also looked rediculous I told her I was not happy with the way it looked she only curled just the very bottom of my hair and ratted the rest of it up and interlocking the booby pins she put in my hair by the time it was done it looked like the back of my head had been shocked by electricity it took me two days to fully get the bobby pins out of my hair also pulling some of my hair out in the process of removing them she did not give me her name and the bill afterwards for the type of style I got and cut that I got was not worth no 77 dollars they charged me.. I now have to go get my hair cut even shorter then I wanted it to be just to fix this huge screw up this girl did your stylist don't listen to what your customer wants they do what they want and how they want it and when you tell them your not happy with it you want things fixed you get told that they did your style and you now have to pay for it this place is a joke they are not professional and I feel I should not of had to pay almost 100 dollars for a [censored]ty style that they wouldn't fix and she clearly ignored me on these issues I wasn't something done
Desired outcome: You need to one make sure your stylist have your costumers needs met when we go in to have our hair done cutting it the way the customer wants not what your stylist wants
Never got seen for my schedule appointment
I called Friday May 20 for an appointment on Monday May 23 at the zebulon location in North Carolina. I got there Monday nobody was there. The place was suppose to open up at 9 am. My appointment was at 11am. I waited and waited and asked around nobody knows why. So I made an appointment at the wake forest location to see if I can get scheduled in for appointment. Same thing happen to me a second time around. I made appointment on Monday May 23 to be seen on Wednesday May 25. The man that scheduled me messed up. The lady there didn't see an appointment scheduled. I don't know what's going on with smart styles. But they need better communication. I'm very disappointed with their service. Luckily I talked to lady there she said she see me this afternoon

Hair service
On May 11, 2022 I walked into smart style hair salon/ Walmart in Stephenville Texas, the lady (Ashley) said she can do my hair when she was done, I said great. So when I told her what I needed and showed her a picture of she said no problem. I asked her how much she it depends on how much work she had to do. Now my hair already had highlights and lowlights in it she just had to follow it, there was another lady there also, they were talking about what to do with my hair, now I didn't ask for any other services just to fix my hair and blend the blonde highlights to my grey that's all. When the other lady left , Ashley said that she loves to play mad scientist with hair color😳 so now she stripped all my brown hair out, and I thought she was going to put brown back in but she didn't. She told me she mixed 9 different colors to do my hair , I said really why, so she could get the color she wanted. I thought its what the customer wants ? So now 2 1/2 hours later my head is completely BLONDE not what I wanted at all ! Then she tells me my hair was very dry yeah because you fried it , she said I need a mask for my hair I said ok
She sold me the one she opened and used on my head . This is very unprofessional and Ludacris. I want a full refund $288.00 , I have never paid more then $160.00 for my in my life. I am getting married in two weeks and now I have to have my hair done again and hope I don't go Bald before my special day. I am very disappointed in the service and the experience in that salon . Full color ombré
I went to smartstyle wanting a new look to feel better about myself, I was so excited! I went, and got ombré done. I was supposed to get it styled and everything. It took 4 hours to do my hair and it looked great, but they said they didn’t have enough time to blow dry it or style it or even trim it. I left happy and when I got home and it was dry, it was so blotchy, it was uneven it was so ugly. I want my money back, because I spent 200 dollars for hair that is completely uneven and blotchy and I hate it so much. Please, help me.

I went to have my hair cut and colored. At your store in Sidney Ohio on Friday 2-26-22 I was there for 6hrs. My cut and color was nothing like the picture I showed them. So I went back on 3-4-22 the manager said she would fix it. Well after another 1.5hrs my hair is now the same color it was before I originally went. Scheduled appointments and stylist does not show to work
3 weeks ago I scheduled an appointment online for my daughter to get highlights and the stylist did not show up for work. I contacted the number give for district manager and she said there was nothing she could do. 15 minutes later she called me to tell me the stylist was there so we went back but actually the stylist was not there. Customer service, chop job hair cut
Smart Style in Garden City, KS has 1 employee. She's never there, and when she is, she makes you wait because she's doing her friends' hair. She finally sat me down and I told her just to take some bulk out of my hair, she butchered it! It was unfixable! So uneven, and I told her to stop cutting 3 times and she kept on cutting. Her last chop was a chunk from the back, I mean it was 3" shorter than the rest. I had to go get extensions. 6 months later, I still struggle! The district manager is useless, rude and refuses to listen. This hair butcher, we will call her "Hilda" has done this to numerous people. She has no business cutting hair! I have never in my life seen such a disgusting display of professionalism, customer service and the chop job hair cut. Well, there are no words to describe this BS. Still nothing has been done
