Makes Memories Come Alive so Easy!
Needed to do a presentation on the retirement of the top person in our organisation that has been with the company for 27 years. Our organisation spans the globe so I got submissions of videos and pictures from all over the world. So, to save time instead of asking someone "expert" to compile, I knew I had to do it myself being his PA. I knew there must be something on the internet that could help me and VOILA Smilebox was that Sunshine! It was really simple and steps were easy to follow and end result simply wonderful! Only I had some errors attaching videos but that must be my laptop program problem I think otherwise, pictures all come out so pretty and so many accompanying music to choose from, others etc. perfect! SmileBox Saved the Day!
After agreeing to do an 11th hour slideshow project for a family member's 80th birthday party, I began to look for a quick solution with nice frames and timing and music options. One at a time, I downloaded one subpar program after another until desperately I jumped out of the Microsoft Store and turned to Google for suggestions. When SmileBox popped up, I remembered appreciating other functionalities when using this on my iPhone and thought this would definitely be worth a download. With just hours to go, I was able to easily select a perfect backdrop theme from many wonderful options. It was easy to integrate my photos and music. And now my slideshow is complete, saved to a memory stick, and headed out of state in the saddlebags of hubby's motorcycle. Thank you, SmileBox!
Awesome Interactive Newsletter
Smilebox has been a great resource for creating quality newsletters for my Kindergarten classroom. I have gotten amazing feedback from both the parents and my administrators by using this site. The variety of layouts, flexibility in number of photo inserts, abundance of music, color and font choices makes this product truly personal and exciting for everyone who views it. I also love the fact that I can see who has viewed it, and receive comments and feedback directly. In addition, the fact that email addresses stay private is a plus for the school setting. Thanks for a great product, and I look forward to more designs and continued use in the future! (Spell check would be a nice addition, because I typically have to cut and paste into a word document to be certain everything is perfect.)
Priceless Memories in Pictures
I am an amateur when it comes to photography. However, I'm a professional when it comes to taking pictures of my family, especially my three grandsons! I've been a customer with Smilebox since 2007 and honestly, I have not been able to find anything comparable to it! I can take my photos and videos from my phone and/or camera, and turn them into memories for years to come. For the first time, I was able to be in the delivery room for my last grandson's delivery thanks to my camera and my son-in-law. My daughter had an emergency C-section and I can't put into words how my anticipation grew as the delivery took place. I feel like I'm every picture or video is an expression of love! Thank you Smilebox for having such a wonderful online business that helps me leave a legacy in pictures!

Such an awesome piece of software
As a very busy assistant headteacher in the UK I spend a lot of time creating a wide variety of documents and presentations. There is never anything better than having some professional looking photos to personalise and identify our school identity. It has been an integral part of revamping our school's corporate image and the children LOVE looking at the slideshows and images.
As if that is not enough smilebox also enables me to send it to parents to view (safely of course) at their leisure without any fears of them being able to copy or redistribute the images in any way.
Then as an additional SUPERBONUS as an educator in a state maintained school HP have the generosity to make it free!
What more could I ask for? Well done for such a great piece of software and giving teachers everywhere the opportunity to create such professional masterpieces.
Been with Smilebox for years, and I AM SO GLAD I HAVE BEEN!
In the beginning, they were great! There was simply nothing out there that did the things Smilebox did - and so easily, too. Now? Years later, the selection has grown to an amazing degree, and the topics covered run the gamut! The artists are all so talented, thinking of how to put things so much better than I can, but making it easy for me to use their work, and just add my own photos to bring the 'card' to life! It's more than a greeting card, not quite a pure video, or even a static album or memory holder... it's all that, and more.
The subscription price for the year is well worth it. I've actually saved more money than spent because I no longer buy greeting cards. I make a Smilebox special greeting, save it to CD, put on a cute label and off it goes, in the mail, in it's own little plastic holder, and wrapped in a CD mailer! PERFECT!
Smilebox has earned it's name in my family. Everyone loves getting the CDs and now, lots love making their own!

My bank was calling about fraudulent charges I checked my account and saw the 2 charges if its for the year plan thats fine for one but not for 2 charges. I need a refund or will cancel the service

I want a full refund and to be canceled immediately! I tried this 3 years ago and was not able to use it. I canceled, but still charged. I do not know what to do.

Intentionally misleading about cost. Don't believe me check the BBB page for Smilebox this list of complaints is long and repetitive. If I could I would give it a zero. The site leads you to believe that it will cost you a little less than $5 dollars to use their card service. However, that is not what it happening. They charge for a year subscription which you find out after you click the option for $4.99. So instead of paying $4.99 you are paying just shy of $60 for the beautiful card you created. There are many other companies out there that offer a similar product without the deception. If you look at the reviews you will see there are many reviews about this issue. If you look at other review platforms you will see even more negative reviews about this deception. I am not the only one. It is intentionally misleading advertising and then when they trick you, they tell you its your fault. 100% do not recommend any company that makes their pricing deliberately deceiving. It doesn't matter how lovely their product is. They intentionally take advantage of people as a policy. Its despicable. It is gross.

hello, I am very disappointed, to say the least, I've been making smile boxes for years how do I access all of my creations I made over the years where are they please give me instructions to access them all! e card maker
I ended up purchasing the ability to use their templates to make e-cards for 59.99 US dollars. I never realized that there is no live customer service, the additional cost to remove their business logo from the card, limited customization, and # of templates at this cost of 59.99. There are so many free software available nowadays to create e-card so I was hoping for something better. They gave no option to cancel the subscription even w/n 24 hours of signing it once you realize the trap. It took 4 days to hear back from them as a reply to my email and was brief and was the only response so far. I have written 3 emails. The good thing is that I paid via Paypal and letting them handle this matter. Besides, I used PowerPoint to create an e-card that is more manageable and free.

I ordered a Smilebox subscription 1/7/2021 which was supposed to be a 14 day trial and afterwards $19.95 month. They charged $139.99 out of my bank account on the same day before trial period ended. After using the product and seeing the quality, I requested a refund and now am being told that I am forced to keep the product for 1 year. I have no way of getting a refund. I have sent several inquiries. The customer phone number that smile box provided is disconnected and no one is available. This is a product of Hallmark and I have submitted complaints with them but it has not been resolved. I would like a refund.

Cancel subscription. Renewed last june. Hope by requesting cancellation now when my yearly renewal comes up I will have managed to successfully exit this worthless program. charged for a "free" membership after cancelling
On November 14, 2019 I looked at my credit card statement and saw that I had been charged an annual Smilebox membership fee of $47.88. I was surprised because I knew I no longer had a paid subscription. I signed into my Smilebox account and sure enough, my status said "Basic Membership" which is free. Had I known Smilebox would be dishonest, I would have taken a screen shot to support my claim, but unfortunately I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking surely I would have no trouble getting refunded since they could see on their end that I had a basic membership. I looked back at my old statements and saw that not only had I been charged $47.88 in November 2019, but also had been charged in November of 2018 and 2017 as well. This likely went back farther than the statements I could access online but I only requested the $143.88 refunded that I could see. I contacted them with my request and they responded that I had a Premium membership (untrue- my profile indicated basic) but they would "cancel" and refund. I replied back for clarification that they were in fact refunding the full $143.88 not just one year. They responded that no, it would only be $47.88 because of their "no refund policy" and the "terms of membership" I had "agreed to". I replied that I had not agreed to that- as evidenced my by BASIC membership. Their final response was to send me a copy of the Terms of Membership and close my case. I will be taking up the matter with my credit card company as well but I'm not optimistic about being able to dispute charges that are 1 and 2 years old. Additionally, I wanted to be sure to alert as many people as possible to their dishonest business practices and their unwillingness to correct their mistake and refund my own incorrectly billed money.

I've not used Smile Box for years and now I have a charge from Smile Box on my credit card. I tried calling the phone number listed with the charge, however, the response on the Smile Box phone line is that they no longer offer phone support. It appears that they do not offer any support! I went online and tried to resolve the issue, but that gets you no where too!

So I went to that account to cancel any subscription or member ship and just was sent in circles and never could get this subscription or membership cancelled. The name of the company is SmileBox. I want a complete refund of a unauthorized money taken out of my account. $47.88 was taken out on November 16th, 2018. This is outrageous! I did not authorized this to Smilebox. This is very upsetting, especially when all their phone numbers are disconnected. Can't even get in touch with customer service. Okay, the software is cool and easy to use. Like someone else on this forum I too tried the "$7" bucks for 7 days trial... Entered my credit card and bam. Thirty days later charged $68 dollars cdn. Tried to contact to complain to no avail... This was in 2016... Guess what? 2017 they charged me again and I don't even have an account... So, let's roll forward to november 2018, no surprise, today they charged me for another year for a service I am not even using. So, I contact and cancel... And the email response is "as of november 2109 your membership will expire and not renew". So no refund again? This company is completely brutal, dishonest and disreputable and ridiculous. I don't even know how they still have my credit card number after I cancelled the account... Arghhhhh. Smile box huh?
