rude and disrespectful
I would highly recommend joining any gym other than this one. The owner of my local Sanp Fitness in Casper Wyoming started to be very rude and yell at me in front of other customers when attempting to cancel my membership. I would stay away from any of these gyms as the corporate office showed little interest in my complaint.
overcharging
I met with the staff and requested that no cards be allowed to charge vending or any other service; membership only, as I have teenagers. My account continuously kept being overcharged by double. I attempted on numerous occasions to sit and speak with the manager and my son even dropped off my bank statement...the manager was always "unavailable." I finally wrote a complaint on the internet email and received a phone call back from the manager within 15 minutes. I was told that vending access had been kept on my card and even though my sons had their own cards, that their system showed that all the charges were placed on my card, so both of my sons had to have used only my card and never their cards, and, that vending is always kept on the primary card. I asked why it had been kept on since I had requested no vending on all cards and was told that it had to stay on. The manager then preceded to tell me that he would take it off even though he had just stated that vending had to stay on, and that they weren't responsible for my kids, I was, and I hadn't controlled them. I suggested to him that this was a poor approach, he lost my membership, my family's membership, and would be receiving bad press, BBB, CofA, and a note to Atty. General. He did not care. A very poor business person. I would have loved to continue this membership for my family but was completley burned.
my dam money
I cancel my membership back in nov. Of 2010, and in march of 2011, another charged appeared on my cc, and I havent been to that gym in six months, and when I called the owner, he said that I didnt cancel my account I just suspended my account, now I am not tripping about 29.95 its just the principal of the matter!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

turned over a new leaf!
I have been a West Des Moines SNAP Fitness member for the past 16 months. Last week a co-worker that is also a member with me told me about this sight that was slandering the owner Justin Dowie. I cannot speak for his actions with these upset consumers / high-school acquaintances of his. What I can do however is speak about my experiences with him and his new staff over the last 6 months; they have treated me great! When the new staff came on they gave me 2 free personal training sessions and forthe last 6 months I get a call every month by either Justin himself or one of the staff members to see how my workouts are going. They seem like they truly do care. I feel sorry for all of these ex-members who maybe did not get the same kind of service. I read Justin's response, on one of the complaints, to all of them though and if I were them I would take advantage of his generosity with the FREE six month membership that he promised everyone. Just wanted to express my opinion on the situation. And I'm case any one is wondering; NO, I was not asked to write this by any of the employees or Justin. I am writing this to defend his club and quality services that have been given to me. I wish him and his club continued success. P.S- To whoever is responsible for doing it, thanks for the new complimentary towel service.
bad customer care
I was contacted and asked if I wanted to continue my membership, I said no and gave adequate reason and the lady told me nicely that she would handle that for me so I naturally assumed that is the last I would hear of that. A few months later I realise that money is still being taken out of my account. I try and ring up the gym (to no avail [as usual]) then...

On 1/16/11 I joined Snap Fitness online, and was told that I would receive a call from my local club soon. I received a call on 1/19/11 and signed all of the paper work on 1/20/11. I was told when I signed the papers that I would have until midnight on the 3rd business day to cancel my membership, and receive a full refund. I tried the gym out twice. Both...

Gregg johnson, [protected]@yahoo.com, the owner of this snap fitness sent an unsecured email to at least 3 recipients that contained my full name, complete address, home and work phone number, date of birth, credit card number and 3 digit security code. I would not trust my personal information with him again. I honestly had no issues with the operation...
Read full review of Snap Fitnesspoor standards, steals money
Poor standards, Steals money I recently joined Snap Fitness at Viman Nagar in Pune but unfortunately i a very dissatisfied about doing so. I noticed that it was very hot while working out and that the Air Conditioners were either not switched on or were not working properly. So i informed the front desk about the same. The person there tells me that they are waiting for some spare parts from the AC company and they do not know when its gonna be fixed, in a very arrogant tone. I also come to know it has been like this since the past 3 months. I ask the next day again as its hotter, i told that there is nothing more that can be done and that i have to cope with the hot surroundings as you charge a lower fee than other chains (it was unbelievable listing to his justification). Later, i was told that the AC will not be fixed anytime soon. I was given an option of either continuing in the heat or to accept supplements(whey protein) for the price of the membership minus an unbelievable fee of 1920Rs. Upon asking again i was told that the AC would not be fixed anytime soon as there were not "enough number of complaints". So i was forced to accept Whey Protein tubs for the membership price minus cancellation fee(1900+rs!) I asked several times to wave off that fee but, it was not done and justified as fees for card( there has never been any card). Being helpless i finally left carrying 5lbs and 2lb tubs of Whey. I also had to pay an extra 901Rs! So I was compelled to leave due to sub standard conditions, accept a cancellation fee of 1900+RS which is not ustifiable. And even the remaning amount cannot be refunded but you do more bossiness offering Whey protein. So Snap has different standards in US and India. In US you have a 30 day results guarantee. And here im taken for a ride! So in short- No AC functional at Gym Gym's hotter that outside Staff tell me there is no chance of the AC being fixed soon At first i'm told nothing can be done about getting my money back if i leave. On the next day i'm told accepting Supplements for a cancellation fee of 1900+rs is the only way to go. Im forced to accept this making a loss of 1900+ rs and paying an additional 900rs. So you guys do not maintain the standards required by Snap Franchise, have arrogant staff and a cancellation policy does not exist! Please refund me the cancellation fee as it is very unethical
@ ITSgordie
Did you say "contract"? But the signs and slogan says "NO Contract".
It's false advertising by all means. You'd better look it up because it's about to go down.
When you joined Snap fitness, you signed a contract where you accepted those terms. Unless the facility being maintained at a specific temperature was in the contract, you have to go with what YOU agreed to on the contract.
If you don't like it, you shouldn't have signed it. This is your own fault.
cancellation fee
I advise anyone who is considering joining to take a HARD look at the "NON-CONTRACT" they get you to sign. They advertise that its commitment free and you can sign up month to month, however there is a catch. They will bill you for your first and last month when you join up, but if you try and cancel the automatic withdrawal you will have big problem...
Read full review of Snap Fitness and 5 commentsthey bill you after you quit
Snap fitness has a cancel policy that screws every member 1 additional month of fee's after you quit. You are billed for the current month on the first of every month. If you were to cancel on say the 5th of that month - they charge you for the entire next month. This is deceptive billing practices. The State Consumer Protection Agency needs to step up and stop this. Snap Fitness is a consumer rip off. DO NOT JOIN THIS FITNESS CLUB. There is no way I would ever recommend this to any friend or family member. They basically get every single person for 1 extra month as they quit. Snap Fitness ***.
"Terror" is wrong and "Just Sayin's" answer it too confusing. When you join Snap you pay a prorated first month and a full last month. It's in your written contract, and, at my local Snap they also told me verbally. Snap charges my credit card on the first of each month. So if I want June to be my last month (and I already paid for the last month) I need to notify Snap before they charge my credit card for June. In other words, I need to notify Snap of the cancellation in May. If I don't make that deadline, then the last month of my membership will be July. Simple.
Terror: you seem to be mathematically challenged. Snap bills you on the first of the month for your next 30-days access to the gym. Are you saying you want to use the gym FIRST, and then pay?
You can cancel at anytime, and the company policy is to give them 30-days notice. That is quite reasonable, especially since you don't need any proof why. I was at a gym once that locked you into a 12-month contract, no freeze or cancellation option unless it was for a medical reason and you brought in a letter from your doctor. Snap is more than fair in granting you the ability to cancel anytime. So if you cancel on the 5th, you have already, in the past, previously, whatever you call it, paid for your month. When you cancel on the 5th, you still have the RIGHT to use the gym until the 30th since you already paid for the service.
very poor customer service
I put in my 30 day notice at the gym I signed up at and never recieved a call until today, the day I turned my access card back in, that the gym I go to most often is the gym I need to cancel at. If it had not been for the nice lady at the gym I actually go to I probably would have to pay another whole month for something I can not afford at the moment. He...

I am a current member and purchased my membership at the Richmond hill Ont club. At the time I was working in the neighborhood frequently and decided to join there. I realized quickly that I would only be able to workout in the evening at the Bolton club, two months into my 6 month membership I have been locked out of the Bolton Ont club. Harv the general manager at the club (i believe he is the owner) claims that I have to get the money from the Richmond hill club and bring it to him so that I can attend the Bolton facility. I don't think this should be a task for me to complete. I don't know what to do, I have left several messages with both parties and head office and no one has returned my call except for the Richmond hill club. Please help me to understand what I have done wrong not to be able to utilize the Bolton club. Harv you have got to be the biggest *** i have ever met, I can see why the club is not so busy! I will never buy a membership at snap nor will I ever pay a gym membership in full again!
Joined Snap Fitness in Oviedo, Florida 32765 in the beginning of 2009 went for about a month, but still paid for gym up till July of 2009 then had financial issues missed monthly payment.
They called repeatedly for different cards to use and then sent an email saying they were going to cancel. Kept email for a month to make sure they did then got rid of it. DO NOT EVER GET RID OF ANY OF THEIR EMAILS!
Beginning of October they hit my account for over 200.00 for all the past months. I complained but they "conveniently" can't find any emails that were ever sent to me.
Even though I did get all their promotional crap but they cannot find a single one sent to me.
Which they feel gives them the right to keep all my money.
This is a JOKE Of a company do NOT EVER start with them.
I am current member at Snap Bolton location. I would say that I read reviews before joining, so I was bit scared. But Snap's Bolton location is the best gym I have ever been too. The staff, specially the manager Harv, is very helpful. He will do whatever he can to help you out. I have already refered 3 of my friends there. They are so happy that they are palnning on getting a trial memberships for their wives. Neat and clean facility. Plus tehre is no contract, so you can't go wrong. Hope this helps. John Tacc.
poor customer service
Snap Fitness in Keller, Texas has horrible customer service. I signed up with a personal trainer and two months later, they fired him. Owner called two days later and wanted me to make an appointment with their other two trainers (if my trainer had not called me, I wouldn't have known he was fired). I told him I didn't think I wanted to do this; he said he would look at my account. I never heard back from him. When I pushed the issue and finally after two weeks and another monthly charge, I was told I HAD to use another trainer because they were continuing to take the monthly charges from my credit card until the ending date I signed up for with original trainer. How can the contract be good if the person who signed it is no longer there? In order to take three months of training costs from me is worth my membership (which I will cancel), my husband's membership and any potential memberships that will not happen from my negative word of mouth advertising. The whole thing was handled so poorly from them; it has created a negative atmosphere from my end. I still have not gone back nor made an appointment with their other two trainers. I feel like I am being robbed and forced to do something I don't want to do, so really how much good would it do anyway. I did send an email to corporate headquarters telling them they should put in their contracts that they can change your trainer anytime they wish and the client has no say in it. Surprise, surprise, no reply.

worst customer service
They charged me $147 on my account and when i called about it the women was yelling back at me and telling me it was my fault, when the manager at my location said they have been having accounting problems. they didn't want to help me at all! i called the owner and he never called back. then i went to cancel and the manager didn't care, just rolled his eyes and walked away as i filled it out. then they charged me for another 2 months after my 30 cancellation! when i called again they gave me attitude.

beware!
I had the same problem with trying to get snap to stop taking money out of my account after my contract was over. The first month I was told my contract was not over yet, but it would be the next month. Then I was told they took money out because I didn't give them thirty days notice. The third month they said, once again, that I still was in a contract with them.
Also I feel that the male staff (they are all male staff) was sexest. A woman came in with very large breasts. The one trainer had her doing several exercises that involved chest extensions. He and another male staff watched. Two weeks later they posted a picture of this woman doing a chest extension with her trainer standing over her with a smile on his face. The pic must have come from one of the security cameras. How creepy is that ? I never saw the woman in the gym again, so I am sure she has no idea about this pic.
Also, I was told that they had hired new trainers to assist us with our workouts. The trainers were VERY pushy about setting up an appointment. Then when I went to the appointment I found out all it was was a sales pitch to hire the trainer. Had I have known this ahead of time, I would have refused the appointment.

I sign up at one of the snap fitness and was told I can go to any other snaapfitness I wanted to as long as I go to his jym 3 to 4 times a month . And I do I do use the other snap a lot more then his and they came to me and said I can no longer use three jym I would have to sign with the Snapfitness jym I use more Can any one Help with this >
I hope the owner of the Snap Fitness center in Trinidad, CO will make it right for me. I had the exact same problem as the above with the 30 day notice and they didn't stop taking money from my account. Then, like the others, I had to pay for another 30 days which I won't even get to utilize. I am hoping that I can be reimbursed for all the time I did not even go because I was under the assumption my membership was cancelled.
I am sorry to hear about both of these complaints at Snap Fitness we do require a 30 day notice for billing and this is policy, I apologize you did not see that when joining. We appreciate your constrictive criticism and sorry things did not work out and we are committed to growing and offering better service! If there is anything we can do in the future at Snap Fitness please let us know we will make it right by you anyway we can!
Owner
Completely agree about the whole contract situation. Same thing happened to me. I called them to ask when my contract was up and they told me August never telling me about giving 30 days notice. Then I asked again knowing it had to be up soon and the guy told me just come in and let me know what you decide and we will take you off. The next week I tell them we don't want to go there anymore and they tell me about the 30 day notice! So we paid pir twelve months and now have to pay another month because we weren't told about the notice... Wow. Also their equipment is terrible, they always leave their brand new gym dirty and it is so crowded. I never should have signed up for a year contract. If you go to the gym 4-6 times a week like my husband and I do, DO NOT choose snap. You will be extremely disappointed.
bad service
Incompetent, rude staff. No less expensive than any other gym and far less to offer . Shameful, despicable customer service. the trainers are no trained to handle special goals and needs of the clients.nor the dietician there nitya doesnt know wat to give for weight loss specifics.doesnt undstd the importance of our goals.after u pay ur done, very negligence in service.the club can market well but cant service well.they shld hire dedicatd employees for training and professionals.everytime havingfun with themselves in the desk is waht we can observe.they will cheat u saying that the trainers are certifeid non of them are certified or knowledgable they look muscular which cheats ur eyes.the cm alwyas shrugs her shoulder couldnt get to know wat she means.i was not able to make the trainer a huge guy or the dietician abt my goal nor the service faultss.so i quit the gym.i hired a home pt who is an ace trainer for my workouts.

they are a fraud!
Our experience was with the snap fitness in vista, ca as i'm sure they all pretty much operate the same since i've gotten hardly no cooperation from corporate. They say they aren't a "contract" gym but in fact they act as if they are. We cancelled our membership as the contract stated and now we hear they are trying to collect for months passed as if we were in a contract (Lol - what a joke) . Funny thing is we have the written cancellation and they still seem to think we owe it. They are a fraud! Not to mention the gyms aren't that great. I would much rather join a real gym than this any day, it's not like it's any cheaper. Don't believe their speal. . . They will get you in the end and don't let them have access to automatic debit no matter what you decide. I just highly recommend staying far away from sanp fitness all together, we've had such a bad experience.

Not only was mine and my lovers membership terminated illegally but in fact the Owner, Greg of the Atlanta North Highland location explained it was because my lover is "ttattooed from head to toe and active member of the leather community. Need I say more" this was a direct quote from an email he sent to other Georgia owners. Despite repeated letters and...
