Spotahome - Awful
I had an unpleasant experience with this awful company. I rented a room from them and they took a deposit of €800, promising to return it as soon as I moved out. When I arrived at the apartment, coming from the airport by taxi, I couldn't get close to the house because I had four heavy bags. I had to drag these bags across the entire area as the owner did...

I would like to share my wonderful experience with the Spotahome website. This is the second time I have applied to this company. The first experience was also not very successful, but the second one surpassed everything that could be done.
I have selected a room on this site. I agreed with the price and saw that it would be necessary to pay the deposit.
Next, I contacted the owner and asked him to make a contract for rent and registration at the place of stay, since I am studying on a student visa, and these documents are very important to me. He did not agree very willingly, took a photo of our passports with the girl in advance and said that he would go to the administration and let us register. A couple of days before arrival, I wrote to the landlord again, and reminded him that registration was needed – he said he hadn't done it, but when you come, we'll figure it out. Don't worry.
The day of arrival has arrived. We came to the apartment and it started.
The first thing that became a problem was that the photos on the site and in reality are very different. There is no piece of furniture as in the photo, there is no TV, everything is in very poor condition, the door handle is falling off, some nails are sticking out of the wall near the head, everything in the common kitchen is in very poor condition and dirty. There is a terrible stench in the room, which does not go even after opening the window (it has been 3 days – all my things still smell of this smell). Since we had nowhere to go and we had a lot of things with us, we decided that all this could be tolerated for a while.
Next, the landlord said that we should leave a deposit. We knew about this, were ready and agreed to it, but for our own safety, guarantees and other things, we asked you to draw up a room rental contract for us, register the condition of the room there, so that later there would be no complaints against us, indicate that we had taken a deposit of 650 euros and that they would oblige us to return it if we We won't break anything. The owner refused to give us such documents. He told us that a verbal promise that he would return it to us was enough. Since we are foreigners in this country, we insisted that we need these documents, that we cannot just give a pledge without a contract and confirmation from him, this is a very big risk for us. And moreover, we were promised in advance that all these documents would be done. So the conflict broke out. The landlord started shouting at us, tearing out our luggage, trying to throw it out into the hallway, and pushed me hard. We decided to call the police and settle the matter with them. We asked for a peaceful settlement of this issue, we simply asked for a refund of the money that we paid a month in advance, since we are not ready to live in this apartment, since it is in terrible condition, since we cannot be guaranteed a refund of the deposit, since the landlord rushes at us with strong aggression and tries to physically to influence.
We called Spotahome support. We asked them to help resolve the issue, we told them that it was written on their website that in case of problems in the first 24 hours upon arrival they would help us, and if anything, they would find new housing and compensate all expenses. But they didn't listen to us. We were told that the room is in good condition and that the photos on the site are just indicative and approximate, that you can clean up there with the owner, that you are not required to provide any documents, and since you do not pay a deposit, you can leave and lose all the money. We couldn't get anything out of this site that evening and had to urgently look for other accommodation for the weekend.
Since Monday, we have been in contact with Spotahome support for a long time. We asked them to help us, explained the reasons that the apartment was in terrible condition, that the aggression of the landlord was taken out on us, that we were not given any guarantees of repayment of the advance. But they didn't help us in any way. We were told that it was your own fault, that we couldn't help you in any way. According to your photos, there is nothing terrible in the apartment, you are not required to provide any documents. We have rules that we strictly follow and so on and so forth. I asked them to settle the issue peacefully – to return the money to us and would be generally pleased with their reaction. I would continue to rent other apartments through them, pay them a commission each time and recommend them to my acquaintances and friends.
What are the conclusions: We are submitting an appeal to the police. We are submitting an appeal to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, we are preparing a court complaint with an attorney. This is the worst rental company I've ever seen. They place unverified ads, in case of problems they will never refund your money, they will not help you in any way and they will throw and throw you at the very moment you need. In contrast, when we had problems with renting through Booking.com – we were reimbursed for financial losses, and were given a lot of bonuses and helped resolve any issues.
Recommendation: Do not contact them under any circumstances
Scammers
I feel compelled to share my recent, incredibly frustrating experience with Spotahome, a service that claims to simplify the process of finding and booking housing. My encounter with them, particularly regarding booking reference number 94EGBB-RD, has been nothing short of a nightmare, leaving me with an overwhelming sense of disappointment and regret.
From the outset, Spotahome positioned itself as a mediator between tenants and landlords, promising a seamless transaction. Unfortunately, my experience with them was characterized by a series of miscommunications, deviations from the agreed-upon terms, and a profound lack of professionalism.
The initial stages of the booking process were marred by miscommunications that set the tone for the entire experience. Our engagement with Spotahome was based on a clear understanding of the terms and conditions, including a pre-determined amount for the booking (94EGBB-RD). However, the subsequent actions by Spotahome and the landlord demonstrated a blatant disregard for the agreed-upon terms.
Spotahome's response to our concerns has been grossly inadequate. Despite numerous attempts to seek clarification and resolution, their communication has been unprofessional, delayed, and, at times, evasive. Their failure to address the severity of the situation, coupled with the suggested alternatives for a new booking, demonstrates a complete lack of accountability for their actions.
The breach of trust became so egregious that I felt compelled to escalate the matter by contacting the Agència Catalana del Consum, a consumer protection agency, to ensure my rights were protected and Spotahome was held accountable for their actions.
What is particularly infuriating is Spotahome's latest response, which suggests using the already charged amount for a new booking. This proposal is not only dismissive of the breach of contract but also reflects a total lack of understanding of the gravity of the situation. I am appalled that Spotahome thinks a mere alternative booking is a sufficient resolution for their failure to uphold the terms of our agreement.
The lack of responsiveness from Spotahome, the deviation from the agreed-upon terms, and the unprofessionalism displayed throughout this ordeal are clear indicators of a service that prioritizes its own interests over those of its customers. I cannot stress enough how disappointed I am in Spotahome's handling of this situation.
In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering using Spotahome to proceed with extreme caution. My experience with them has been a harrowing lesson in the importance of thoroughly vetting and scrutinizing service providers before engaging with them. Spotahome's unprofessionalism, breach of trust, and disregard for customer satisfaction have left an indelible mark, and I would caution anyone against entrusting their housing arrangements to such a negligent and irresponsible service.
This review serves as a warning to potential customers, urging them to exercise caution and consider alternative options when seeking housing solutions. Spotahome has proven to be a service that falls short of its promises and fails to prioritize the needs and rights of its customers.
Recommendation: Avoid as they will only take your time and energy
Hoe is it possible that it still works?
How is it still possible that Spotahome is still active as a company after all this scames and stallen money ?! The company is from Spain and not some island somewhere far in the ocean.
I am sorry that we ever run into this site. Please use well cheked platforms where landlords are reviewed and there is free cancelation policy and there are no insane deposits.
Never using spotahome again
My experience started off bad and has only gotten worse. I’ve had a very disappointing experience engaging with customer service which was, despite the long waiting periods, responsive but thoroughly unhelpful and dismissive. My landlord experience was also unpleasant. I’m still in the apt I booked which was not cleaned well when I arrived, the sheets had stains, I’m having to deal with cockroaches and other insects crawling around mainly at night, I’m pretty sure I spotted a bed bug crawling in the room the other day, I have out of pocket expenses for bug traps to put in the apartment since the landlord has ignored my requests to provide them (also was lied to about receiving them by the only person who I’ve been able to talk to associated to the apt), the landlord has been non responsive, I have lights on while I’m home and when sleeping to help prevent cockroaches from entering my room which will end up increasing my bill at the end of the month, and worst part is I’m dealing with physical reactions and symptoms from the bugs and state of the apt. I reached out about the issues the day after I arrived and was told nothing could be done in response to my concerns aside from reaching out to the landlord since the apt matched the images displayed online. The first response I received from the landlord when I reached out was that nothing could be done, and I’d need to deal with the roaches in the apt, which for one, is not true because I know at the least bug traps exist and two, is a health concern. The response I received from Spotahome, after several emails sent out about my issue not being resolved was this:
“ Hello,
I hope this message finds you well and that the situation has improved with respect to your arrival. I am sure that your landlord was willing to help you to make your stay more comfortable.
We hope we have been helpful and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or needs you may have.
Thank you very much for your patience and collaboration.
Best regards,
Andrea González”
I now have a couple more weeks here and the only emails I’m receiving are about payment requests, after I was told I didn’t need to do anything further by the last representative who reached out to me about money and nothing else. It’s the most they’ve reached out thus far of course, while none of my concerns have been resolved. I don’t expect anything will be done regarding my concerns. They’ve even begun closing tickets I’ve sent that haven’t been addressed.
I’m sure from the many reviews, people have had good experiences using Spotahome and with their landlords, but my experience has been and still is the worst I’ve had with any 3rd party housing site. It’s been terribly unpleasant and I will not be using their services again after this.
Recommendation: Book at your own risk and don’t expect much help if you do run into issues.
Spotahome's Misleading Alert and Unfair Cancellation Fee
I was really excited to use Spotahome to find an apartment for a 12-month period starting from September 1, 2021. I set up an alert and received an email with some apartments that matched my criteria. However, the starting dates of their availability only mentioned the month and day, not the year. I found one apartment that I really liked and quickly booked it. But when I received the confirmation, I noticed that the dates were a year ahead, from September 2022 instead of 2021.
I immediately contacted the client service team and the landlord about this error. The landlord replied that her apartment was indeed only available in a year's time, but I did not receive any response from the client service team. As I needed an apartment this year, I had to cancel my booking with the intention of using the service to find another apartment. However, I was shocked to receive a cancellation invoice for 375 EUR.
This experience was really disappointing. Why would they send an alert with the wrong dates and then ignore my request regarding the error? And why would they charge a fee for cancelling a booking that was made in error? I don't think I will be using this service again.
Scam Alert: Don't Fall for This Rental Company's Fees and Verification Process
This company ain't really renting out places, they're just charging you 500 bucks to connect you with a landlord. I paid over 2600 and they kept asking for more verification even after I sent them my passport, face and voice scans, credit statement for address verification, and payment confirmation screenshots. I did all of that and they still blocked my account because I wasn't verified. Then, the landlord contacted me under a different name and email asking for my passport. Their customer support is only available through email and they take forever to respond, only during local hours. So, if you're like me and live in a different time zone, you're screwed. I asked for a cancellation and they just sent me their terms and conditions and privacy policies instead of telling me how to cancel. This is a scam, they just want people to apply so they can take their fees and then refuse refunds by saying it's not 2 months in advance, even if you book less than 2 months ahead. It makes no sense. The landlord can also add extra fees and rules that weren't mentioned in the original booking. It's a whole scam, use another site that includes all payments and is trustworthy. You'll have to report them to your bank.
Beware of Spotahome: A Terrible Company Known for Scamming Customers
Spotahome is a company that has received a lot of negative reviews, with a rating of only 1.24 out of 5. It is a terrible company that is known for scamming its customers. One of the biggest issues with Spotahome is that you cannot see the landlords before you book, which means that you might end up with the worst rental agencies of any city. These agencies cannot rent without access to these types of ghost platforms.
Another major issue with Spotahome is that there is no customer support to help you when you inevitably fall prey to the mostly shady and scamful apartment owners who want deposits 48 hours after booking. They keep your deposit forever and do not answer neither during the booking process or after when you want your deposit back. This is a major problem, as it means that you are at risk of losing your money if you book through Spotahome.
One specific issue that I had with Spotahome was with Roomswerent. You can google the reviews to see how much harm they have caused other people as well. But the best part is no one else would let them lease through their websites anonymously except Spotahome which is why they promote their terrible apartments filled with insects, cameras and people entering your rooms! I contacted Spotahome immediately when I saw the reviews of the company and felt unsafe to stay there and pay deposits beforehand and they have only told me that it is my fault that they are enlisting terrible businesses their website.
Another review by Medium is available to read about the same situation happening in Portugal to another girl. Please be careful, there are better and cheaper options do not go for this. It is important to be aware of the risks associated with booking through Spotahome, as there are many other options available that are safer and more reliable.
Spotahome Review: The Biggest Scam and Fraudulent Company on the Market
Spotahome is a company that claims to provide verified and legitimate homes for people. However, my experience with them was far from satisfactory. In fact, I would go as far as to say that they are the biggest scam and fraudulent company on the market.
To begin with, their marketing strategy is false and misleading. They buy fake reviews to make themselves appear more trustworthy and reliable. If you check the legitimacy of these reviews, you will find that they are not from real people.
Furthermore, the homes they offer are around 50% above the real market value. You can easily find cheaper places on your own without having to pay extra for their services.
My personal experience with Spotahome was a nightmare. They connected me with a landlord who was suffering from serious depression and was constantly taking painkillers and sleeping pills. She would send me psychotic notes and messages and even threatened me that I couldn't use certain things in the apartment if I wasn't social with her.
When I contacted Spotahome to resolve the issue professionally, they forwarded my message to the landlord without my consent. This breach of privacy is unacceptable and unprofessional.
The situation escalated when the landlord kicked me out of the flat and accused me of fictional things. She harassed me via phone, email, and other means of communication. This is what Spotahome considers a 'Verified Landlord.'
To make matters worse, Spotahome promised me a refund in 15 business days, but it has been over a month, and I still haven't received anything. They won't respond to my ticket, and it seems like they have disappeared with my money.
In conclusion, I would advise anyone considering using Spotahome to stay away from them. They are not a trustworthy or reliable company, and their services are not worth the money. I am considering taking legal action against them, and I would urge others to do the same if they have had similar experiences.
Spotahome Review: Corrupt Company that Only Cares About Landlords - Do Not Use!
I had a really bad experience with Spotahome. I was in a hurry to find a place to stay and I needed something that allowed pets. Unfortunately, there were no available places that met my criteria. So, I decided to book a place that didn't allow pets and left a note for the landlord explaining my situation. I made it clear that if there was a problem with my cat, I was willing to cancel the booking. However, Spotahome accepted my booking and charged my account.
Later, I contacted them to make sure they had seen my message. They hadn't read it and told me that my cat was not allowed. I informed them of the situation and they said they would check with the landlord and get back to me. Meanwhile, I found another apartment and paid the deposit because I needed to find something quickly.
The next day, Spotahome came back to me and said that they would make a special exception if I paid double the deposit. I was shocked! I had already found another apartment and paid the deposit. There was no way I was going to pay double the deposit for a 3-month booking. I told them it wasn't possible for me and they came back with another offer. They said I could pay half the second month's deposit. Again, I refused.
Then, they told me that I didn't need to pay another deposit. But it was too late. I had already found another apartment and paid the deposit. Two days later, Spotahome told me that because the landlord offered a solution, I did not qualify for a refund for the 784 euro deposit I made. I couldn't believe it! This company is corrupt and only cares about the landlords. I repeat, do not use Spotahome or Innovaflats!
Spotahome Review: Misleading Advertisements, Terrible Customer Support, and Unfair Policies
Spotahome is a service that I would not recommend to anyone. I made the mistake of using their platform when I was in a desperate situation and needed to find a place to live quickly. At first glance, everything seemed perfect and too good to be true. Unfortunately, that's exactly what it was - too good to be true.
The apartment that I booked through Spotahome was nothing like what they advertised. The pictures were completely misleading, and the living situation was not what I expected at all. It was a total nightmare from beginning to end. I had so many complaints and grievances that it's impossible to list them all here.
The customer support was terrible, and their policies were even worse. When I realized that the apartment was uninhabitable, I tried to change my booking to just one month instead of six. They allowed me to do so, but they still charged me based on a six-month stay. It was a huge difference, and I felt like I was being ripped off.
To make matters worse, I wasn't able to file a formal complaint until I moved into the property. By that time, there was a time limit that they didn't tell me about. When I finally tried to submit a complaint, they said that I was too late and couldn't do anything about it.
Spotahome's policies are designed to benefit them and rip you off. They're in fine print, so it's easy to miss them. I would never use this company again, and I don't know how they can legally call themselves a company.
Spotahome Review: Shady Landlords, No Customer Service, and Lost Money - Stay Away!
I gotta be honest with y'all, Spotahome ain't worth the trouble. I learned this the hard way through my own personal experience. First off, their "emergency" numbers don't even work. Like, what kind of organization is that? If they can't even provide a way to get in touch with them in an emergency, then they ain't serious about helping their customers.
Secondly, if the landlord puts up false information on the site and you get screwed over because of it, Spotahome will side with the landlord and won't give you a refund. That's just messed up, man.
Thirdly, I ended up losing 300 Euros because the landlady changed the move-in date and Spotahome wouldn't do anything about it. I had already paid for the full month's rent, but I still had to stay in a hotel. That's just not right.
Fourthly, when I finally got to the apartment, the landlady told me I had to pay an extra 350 Euros or leave. Spotahome requires you to pay an agency fee and one month's rent before you even see the apartment or meet the landlord. So basically, the landlord can take advantage of you and charge you whatever they want. And if you try to back out, you lose all the money you already paid. That's some shady stuff right there.
Fifthly, after my lease was up, I sent photos to prove that there was no damage to the apartment. But I never got my 1,100 Euro deposit back. The landlady promised to transfer the money, but then blocked my number. When I finally got through to her on a different number, she straight up told me she wasn't gonna pay me back. And then she blocked that number too.
And that's not even the worst of it. One time, I got to a different city and the room I was shown was nothing like what I had picked on the site. But since I had already paid, there was nothing I could do. And Spotahome wouldn't give me a refund either.
So basically, once you give them your money, you're on your own. And there are still landlords like the one I dealt with who are posting their apartments on Spotahome and scamming people. It's messed up, man.
I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone. If you're looking for a place to stay, find a company that actually cares about their customers and has good customer service. Trust me, you don't wanna learn this lesson the hard way like I did.
Spotahome Review: Nightmare Apartment, Unhygienic Conditions, and Unfair Deposit Deductions
I'm an 18-year-old student who came to Barcelona for a 6-month internship, and I booked my first month's stay through Spotahome. I was excited to start my new adventure, but unfortunately, my experience with Spotahome was not what I expected.
When I arrived, the apartment I was supposed to stay in didn't have electricity for a week, so I was put into a neighboring apartment with nine bedrooms, and I was the only girl. The kitchen and bathroom were in terrible condition, and the pictures I saw online were not accurate at all.
After the first week, I was moved into my actual apartment, and it was a nightmare. The fridges were filled with rotting food, and the kitchen was infested with cockroaches. The floors were dusty, and the bathrooms were dirty and unhygienic. The previous tenants had left the apartment in a complete mess, and the housekeeping staff didn't do anything about it. I had to clean everything myself with the only other tenant who remained.
When I left, I was promised that I would get my deposit back within 1.5 to 2 months, but I didn't receive anything. When I asked for my deposit, I was told that I would only get 167 euros back out of the original 759 euros because of maintenance and damage to common areas. I have evidence of the state of the apartment when I arrived and when I left, and I did everything I could to make it habitable again. I shared all the evidence with the company, but they ignored me.
A few weeks later, I found out that the apartment had been completely renovated, and it was clear that they used my deposit and others to pay for it. It's been months since I moved out, and I'm still fighting for my deposit back.
If you want to know more about my experience or if you've had similar issues with Spotahome, please contact me. We can work together to get our deposits back. Thank you.
Spotahome Review: A Scam Company That Abandons Tenants in Vulnerable Positions Abroad
I had a really bad experience with Spotahome and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. At first, they were helpful and quick to respond. They asked me to leave them a review, which I did. Most of the 5-star reviews they receive come from people who, like me, are satisfied with their responsiveness at the beginning. It's a strategy to hide the honest reviews about what happens at the end of the rental period.
I rented an apartment in the neighborhood of Chueca in Madrid, Spain for the summer. The landlord was sketchy and dishonest from the beginning. He wouldn't reply to messages, I had to insist that he send me a contract and move-in information in advance of my day of arrival. He asked for a security deposit in person, and Spotahome said that was common procedure. I trusted that, if I got scammed, Spotahome would help me. After all, I paid them a hefty 30% fee so they could help me with the rental process. Upon arrival, the apartment did not have wifi as was listed on Spotahome and there were issues with the furniture. I had to deal with these directly with the landlord, Spotahome completely ignored the evidence I shared with them.
Even worse, when the time came for us to move out, we asked the landlord to come check the apartment in person and pick up the keys. He said he would not come, all we had to do was to leave the keys inside the apartment. What we feared then happened: the landlord made up "electrical emergency" issues in order to keep hundreds of dollars from our deposit. I had proof of the landlord's wrongdoing, I spent months asking Spotahome for help, and they refused to take action based on the evidence we provided them with. All they said was that it was between me and the landlord. The landlord also wrongfully charged us for utilities that were supposed to have been included in the rent price as per the details on Spotahome's listing. He used strategies to steal part of our security deposit, knowing we were already outside the country and unable to confront him legally.
Why pay this company a 30% fee if they won't help you when you're in a vulnerable position abroad? This is why people are calling Spotahome a scam: they will not offer you a service if it is not in their favor. They do not sanction these landlords who take advantage of foreign tenants. Their business model takes advantage of foreigners who do not have the means to sue the landlord or go to the police. In my case, I had already left the country, and Spoathome guaranteed me that it was normal to wait at least two months to have the security deposit returned to me. It took me two months, and the helps of Spanish locals I knew, to be able to get just a part of the security deposit back.
I chose Spotahome because I believed it would be more affordable and of higher quality than more famous competitors. This could not be farther from the truth: I ended up spending far more money by renting with them and being completely abandoned by their essentially non-existent customer service. Spotahome qualifies as a "scam" because they know that landlords, such as the one I had, are actively robbing tenants' security deposits, and Spotahome supports them in their wrongdoing by not sanctioning them, and not being transparent about who the landlord is during the booking process.
I regret ever choosing Spotahome. They are an untrustworthy company, and if you are looking for accommodation in Madrid, be very careful with this one-bedroom apartment in Chueca. The landlord is dishonest.
Spotahome Review: False Information, Hidden Fees, and No Customer Care - A Nightmare Experience
I had a really bad experience with Spotahome. There were so many issues that I don't even know where to start. Let me tell you my story chronologically, even though the ending is the worst part.
First, I searched for a room suitable for couples on their website. I put a filter to see real options, and there were 16. But by location and price, it went down to only 2. I chose the one I liked the most and placed the booking. I did it with some time before move-in to avoid stress, but Spotahome answered that there was a mistake. Even though it said clearly "available for couples" on their website, in reality, it wasn't. They apologized and told me to take a look at some other options. I had another option, and I asked for that one. After some time, they got back with another apology, saying that the landlady changed it a month ago, and it isn't available for couples anymore. How is that possible when there is false information on the website?
Second, they suggested to help me with the choice and sent a few links, which I saw, of course, and didn't even consider it. Simply because the apartments were located on the other side of the city. I can't understand how they can call that a suggestion when they don't even care to pay attention to what the person was booking.
Adding to everything, time was passing. So I decided to take a look at their website and choose what is "less bad." I sent two links to not lose time again, and funny but from the first landlady, there weren't answers. On the other side, the second one answered promptly. Even though they charged a special "landlord fee," which was even bigger than Spotahome fee, but by everything and by losing time, I even thought that I was still lucky. I couldn't imagine what will wait for my boyfriend and me.
Because it is this special policy of Spotahome that you book before, pay everything, and then it's like "Surprise!)" what is waiting for you there. On the other websites like Badi, Indeed, Idealista (even Facebook), you can establish an appointment and go and see, and if you don't like it, you simply don't want to take it. Well, with Spotahome, you have to take it. Plus, they even have this policy that they charge in advance just Full month, but interestingly the apartment was from 2nd of Feb., so that way the payment will be in advance for the 2nd month, and when we will move-in, we will pay + 1st month and everything else. Which would be the probability that we can pay it? So I suggested that I'll pay that one day to them, which I wasn't staying, just to make it by their policy "Full month." Certainly, to pay 17-18 euros for nothing was still better than the first scenario.
After the booking was confirmed, Spotahome sent me contacts to start arranging move-in with the landlady. When I saw the email, I understood why there was that big fee because it was another hidden agency. So, a normal person needs an apartment to rent and already has to pay the rent in advance, deposit + pay one agency, then to another, just to get the place to stay.? Well, but even this wasn't the worst.
I contacted the "landlady" by WhatsApp and email, and I was waiting for an answer for more than a week. It was already 2-3 days before the flight, (because I was booking from another country as I was moving for Erasmus) I wrote to Spotahome impatient and really worried "What's happening?" And just after that, the 'landlady' finally answered me and said that SOON someone else will contact me about the apartment. So we were waiting again.
I was waiting until the last, like 36 hours before move-in, and then contacted Spotahome support to cancel my booking. They told me to log in, and in the section "my bookings," I can cancel it. I did as they said, but there was nothing in the section. And after that, a person from the second agency wrote to me. With no other choice, we just went to an established hour to check-in.
And there it was, the surprise... The zone we were supposed to live in is full of criminality, and 20-30 minutes from the apartment, we were robbed. We went to the police station, and they said that it is kind of usual there. Terrified, I contacted like 4 different persons from Spotahome that I have to cancel my booking and expect my money back, but they say "that it isn't enough reason" to get a refund, while on their website, they say that you have 48 hours to cancel the booking if something isn't good at the day of your move-in. So they protect themselves behind everything they put in their policies and totally don't care about the customers. They even didn't want to establish any agreement and took all the money. Totally inhuman.
For such a monster company, it is nothing, and we had to be on the street or from place to place until we got some help to get another apartment from another website, of course. To go through something like this, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. And that's why I highly don't recommend Spotahome.
Better to take Airbnb or a hotel for a few days in the destination you plan to rent an apartment, then visit websites like Indeed or Badi and make appointments, where you can go and see the place. It took us 3 days to do it this way, and we solved this situation. I just wish I did that from the beginning, so we wouldn't lose money and health.
Terrible company. You only get a full refund if you cancel before 2 months in advance! Anything less, you lose money. This is how they make their profits and the customer service is poor and full of bots. Stay away!

Rent
I had an unpleasant experience with this awful company. I rented a room from them and they took a deposit of €800, promising to return it as soon as I moved out. When I arrived at the apartment, coming from the airport by taxi, I couldn't get close to the house because I had four heavy bags. I had to drag these bags across the entire area as the owner did...

Dear Customer Service Team,
I hope this email finds you well. I am reaching out to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent reservation I made through your platform. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing and has not met my expectations at all.
Phone number: [protected]
Booking Reference Code: 9NJDGP-L1
Booking Id: 651956
Firstly, the room I was assigned was far from satisfactory. It was extremely small and the conditions were poor. Additionally, there was a strange damp odor that made the situation even more unpleasant. These conditions were not what I anticipated when making the reservation.
Furthermore, the service provided by the staff at the location was equally disappointing. Not only did they arrive late, but they also had no record of my reservation. Their attitude towards me was unprofessional and inconsiderate. They did not offer any solutions and, in fact, stated that I was not their customer and should contact you directly.
As a result of this highly unsatisfactory experience, I demand a full refund of the amount I paid for the reservation. It is unfair for me to have paid for such a poor service, and I expect appropriate measures to be taken to rectify this situation.
I have attached the proof of my reservation and any other relevant documentation that may assist in expediting this refund process. I eagerly await a prompt response from your team to resolve this matter satisfactorily.
Thank you for your attention, and I hope that we can resolve this situation fairly and to my satisfaction. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
As you can see on the email I send to them, they are not willing to help me at all.
Sincerely,
Desired outcome: I recently made a reservation through this platform, and I must say that it was an absolute nightmare.
Spotahome Review: Nightmare Experience with Sneaky Landlords and Unresponsive Customer Service
Stay away from Spotahome, they're a real nightmare. They don't play fair and their landlords are just plain sneaky. Our boy was pushed into paying a deposit to a landlord in Barcelona before he even got there, which was totally wrong. And now the landlord won't give it back, leaving our son out of pocket by a whopping 1200 euros. And to top it all off, they don't even bother to reply to emails. It's just plain rude.

Spotahome Review: Worst Customer Service and Double Booking Disaster
I had a really bad experience with Spotahome (spotahome.com) when I booked a room through their website in March 2022. They made a mistake and double booked the room, which left me without a place to stay. It was a really stressful situation, and I was really disappointed with their incompetence.
Their customer service was the worst I have ever seen. I tried to contact them, but there was no way to get in touch with them properly. Their employees seemed to have no motivation to be helpful, and I felt like I was just being ignored.
I had to find a room on my own in just 24 hours, which was really difficult in one of the largest cities with the most competitive real estate market. It was a really stressful experience, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
If you're thinking about using Spotahome, I would strongly advise against it. Unless you want to be left homeless with no one to help you, avoid them at all costs. In my opinion, they are the biggest scam in history.
Disappointing Experience with Spotahome: Non-Existent Customer Support and Unresponsive Landlords
I planned my trip a couple of weeks ago and decided to use Spotahome to book an apartment. I found an apartment that I really liked and waited for a week and a half for the landlord or customer support to reply to my inquiry. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any response from them, which was really frustrating.
After waiting for some time, I decided to book a different apartment on Spotahome. However, two days before my travel, the landlord requested more documents from me. I immediately sent the documents but didn't receive any response from the landlord or customer support. This made me really anxious and worried about my trip.
As a result, I decided to book a hotel room for the same day I arrived and booked a different apartment on Airbnb. Thankfully, everything worked out well with Airbnb and I had a great stay. However, I was really disappointed with my experience with Spotahome. It was a complete waste of my time and energy.
I would not recommend using Spotahome to anyone. Their customer support is non-existent and their landlords are unresponsive. It's better to use other platforms like Airbnb or Booking.com for your travel accommodations.
Spotahome Review: Untrustworthy Rental Service with Unfair Policies
Spotahome is a website that helps you find rental apartments in different cities. However, my experience with them was not a pleasant one. I wanted to know if one of the apartments in the city was available, but instead, Spotahome charged me for two rentals in the same city for the same period. This was not what I had intended, and I was disappointed that they did not confirm my reservation request before charging my credit card.
When I contacted them to ask for a refund for the rental I would not be using, they refused and told me that it was their usual policy. This was frustrating because I felt like I was being taken advantage of, and it seemed like their policy was designed to increase their profit at the expense of their customers.
I strongly advise against dealing with Spotahome if you want to avoid getting ripped off. They do not seem to have their customers' best interests at heart, and their policies are not transparent or fair. It is important to be cautious when using online rental services like Spotahome, and to read the fine print carefully before making any reservations.
In conclusion, Spotahome is not a trustworthy website for finding rental apartments. They charge your credit card immediately without confirming your reservation request, and their policies are designed to benefit themselves rather than their customers. If you want to avoid getting ripped off, it is best to look for other rental services that are more transparent and customer-friendly.
Spotahome Review: Terrible Experience with Landlord and No Refund Guarantee
Our experience with Spotahome was really bad. We had a lot of trouble with the landlord who didn't want to give us the keys to the property. We had to spend a lot of money on hotels while we waited for Spotahome's "guarantee" to kick in. But even after all that, we still didn't get our money back. Spotahome told us that the landlord would give us the keys, but he never did. And to make matters worse, Spotahome deleted our reservation from their system. We're really angry about this and we're going to take legal action against them. Honestly, we should have read the reviews before we used their service. There are so many other people who have had bad experiences with Spotahome.
Spotahome Review: Terrible Customer Service and Autopayment Issues
I gotta say, Spotahome is not the best website for booking apartments. I had some trouble with their autopayment system when I was renting a room through them. I tried to reach out to them through Whatsapp and Email to get some help, but I got no response. It's like they don't even care about their customers. I mean, what's the point of having a customer service email if you're not going to reply to it? It's just frustrating.
I ended up getting a bot-generated email saying that I hadn't paid and that I was breaching the contract. Like, seriously? I'm trying to pay, but I need some help here. It's not like I'm trying to scam them or anything. I just want to get this sorted out.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend Spotahome to anyone. Their customer service is terrible and they don't seem to care about their customers at all. If you're looking for an apartment booking website, I suggest you look elsewhere.
Spotahome Review: Beware of Hidden Fees and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, I ain't too happy with Spotahome. I accidentally booked a room, thinkin' I was just lookin' at payment info, but next thing I know, it's confirmed and they done charged me 900 big ones for rent and service. I tried to cancel just two minutes later, but they only gave me back 300 because of some dang "service fees." Them customer service folks don't give a hoot about us regular folks, they just want our money. I lost 600 bucks just 'cause of a two minute mistake. Don't use this site, y'all. Them people are just tryin' to rip off students and young people. I don't know how they sleep at night with them rotten hearts.
Spotahome Review: Misleading Photos, Poor Customer Service, and No Refunds
We recently used Spotahome to book a room for our son in Valencia. However, upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that the room had no proper window and lacked natural light, making it feel like a prison cell. It was not what we had expected based on the photos on the website, which showed the window hidden behind a curtain and artificially brightened to make the room appear more appealing.
Despite our son's dissatisfaction with the room, the landlord was understanding and allowed him to opt-out of the rental agreement. However, we were disappointed to find that Spotahome did not return our money and failed to respond to any of our correspondence. This was particularly frustrating as the website claims that you can change your room if you are not satisfied, but this was not the case for us.
We want to caution others to be very careful when using Spotahome and not to trust the pictures on the website blindly. Once you send any money, it is unlikely that you will get it back, even if the room is not as advertised. We hope that Spotahome will improve their customer service and be more transparent about the conditions of their rental agreements in the future.
Spotahome Review: Helpful but Beware of Cancellation Policy
I gotta say, I used Spotahome and it was pretty helpful. I mean, I'd be willing to cough up some dough for their service if they could find me a sweet spot to live in. But, I gotta admit, I messed up and cancelled my reservation real quick-like. The landlord hit me up on Whatsapp right away and I told him it was a mistake, but they still wouldn't give me a full refund. That ain't right, man. They broke the rules on the right to withdraw, ya know? I didn't wanna go through the hassle of taking legal action, but dang, it's easy to lose a lot of cash in a snap if you're not careful. So, be careful, y'all! I'll probably use their site again 'cause it's tough to find a place in Lisbon, but I wouldn't recommend it if you can find another way. Save yourself the headache and the money, ya feel me?
Spotahome Review: Terrible Experience, Owed Almost ?4000, No Customer Protection
This site is a complete disaster! My experience was absolutely terrible. I am still owed almost ?4000 from a deposit and a rent overpayment. It only happened because Spotahome didn't transfer the rent I sent them to the landlord on time. So, when I arrived, I had to pay the money again. Spotahome has done very little to help me get my money back. They keep telling me that I need to sort it out directly with the landlord. It's been 6 months since I moved out of the property, and the landlord has ignored all my calls and messages asking for an update. Even though Spotahome knows about this, the property is still listed on their website. They claim that it has had 67 happy tenants, but I doubt that's true.
I rented a flat in Madrid for two months, and the pictures attached are of the flat. It's still on their site now, even though I'm going through all this trouble with the landlord. I would be very careful and avoid this site because there is absolutely no customer protection. It's a complete mess!
