Spring Forest Qigong (SFQ) in Eden Prairie, MN, is very highly rated and seems to help everyone with their physical and spiritual well-being. That makes it even harder for me to understand their treatment of me.

I started learning the Qigong exercises in June of 2008, and as the lessons came with a discount on getting a “healing, " and because of my physical problems, I decided to try one even though it was very expensive (I live on Social Security) $70 with the discount, later, $85. Master Lin told me I would need 7 healing sessions.

I asked about financial aid but was only told about the discount that came with the lessons - which would basically double the cost. I had 5 sessions and was not only going into debt, but getting worse physically. I got more insistent about financial help - I could not see why the sessions were so expensive as they were only about half an hour long and involved no expensive equipment.

I was referred to one of the healers in training, Darcie Grim, who informed me that the healing were completely unnecessary, that all I had to do was keep doing the exercises (which I was already doing faithfully). Needless to say, I was pretty upset to be told this after Master Lin told me I needed 7 sessions, but I continued doing the exercises - and continued to get worse.

After a month, I called to talk to Darcie, but she would not talk to me, and May, the administrator just snapped at me, “There's no guarantee! If the exercises don't help, stop doing them!" I was beyond stunned, as the message one gets from Master Lin's book and his talks is that everyone benefits and helping others is the purpose of his work.

I then wrote Master Lin asking for an explanation of this attitude and behavior. I never got a response. A few months later I wrote the person who runs the SFQ Guild. He was very surprised by my story and said he would ask about it. He never got a response either.

I can understand that the exercises might not help everybody, though that is certainly not the message given. What I CAN'T understand is that Master Lin didn't have the courtesy, the decency, the concern, the responsiveness to reply to me, particularly in light of the kind of person he purports to be.

Hello my dear friends!
As many of you may already know, my beloved wife, Fang, crossed over into the next circle of life at the end of May. Her long struggle with cancer finally over.
I was with her when she made her transition and she was in a place of peace and love in her heart and ready to make the transition.
The services we held were private with just family and a few, close friends, as Fang wanted it to be.
In my meditations, I have had the joy of communicating with Fang on the other side several times now since she crossed over. She is so filled with joy and love and, as she pointed out to me several times, she is very busy. Fang always loves being busy.
Fang will always be in my heart and I know we will be together again one day.
So many of you have reached out to me and our children with your love, your kind words and your continuing support. We thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. Love, Chunyi

SFQ and Master Chunyi Lin have boasted over and over again about their ability to COMPLETELY HEAL people with cancers and tumors. Simply visualizing tumors and cancers to shrink and be "completely healed" will allow the "blockages" to undo and complete healing can come from this.

Fact is, Master Chunyi Lin's wife passed away from cancer. If the Internationally Recognized Qigong Master cannot heal his own wife, how can he heal you? Many will view this as a low blow, but these are simple facts. Don't believe me, look it up before they tear it down.

We all die of something. The lack of compassion for Chunyi Lin's tragic loss is sad for me. This is not magic. When it's your time, it's your time. When we have our ultimate body release, our soul is freed. This is a difficult and transient plane, and clear Qi is, at least for myself, feels good and enhances my sense and pleasure of aliveness. And, with due respect to all the other viewpoints, and belief & value systems. I'm sending her loving light on her ascension, and Chunyi Lin, a cloak of caring protection and space for his grief, for the loss of his beloved mate.

I'm very familiar with this company and many current and former staff members. After observing the community of participants and students for many years, and having some involvement with the teachings, I do believe that this is a destructive cult. Master Lin is rich due to his entrepreneurial spirit. He came to the U.S. and declared himself a master, and a lot of people believed it.

I tried QiGong with one group and felt nothing. Their grand master told me I needed 10 healings at $200/ea. I asked "at the end of the $2000 what will be different?" He couldn't answer me. I then took training with another man who was WONDERFUL! He said something very critical: if your instructor doesn't have Qi you won't. I know that is so as I was amazed how much Qi I had after my first lesson with him. For those seeking to learn Qi Gong do it in person with a tried and true trainer. I went to Dr. Sun in Seattle, WA. If I still lived near him I'd probably never seek out another instructor: http://www.iqim.org/yi-ren-qigong/

I purchased the (green) Spring Forest Qigong for health system many years ago. It looks as if the exact package is still being sold. However, I no longer have access to a video player and I am wondering whether it is possible to buy a DVD that has the same content as the video. (Naturally, I do not wish to purchase the whole pack again).

I had to think about your post for a while. A number of points. Does radiation treatment cure all cancers? No. But it does cure some. Does that mean a radiologist is a fraud if his wife gets cancer but she dies anyway? There are many types of cancers and causes of cancer. Some are very aggressive. You do not know what type of cancer she had. She apparently fought this cancer for a while. Maybe she showed improvement, but it can back, and she finally lost the battle. In TCM thought, chi blockages are the cause of all illness. But is that really realistic? Sure, unblocking energy flow will help with many things, but the truth is, just like an acupuncture treatment, it will not cure everything. Also, maybe without Master Lin's help she may have died years earlier. I don't know, and neither do you.

First, Master Lin has to make money to survive. I find his fees reasonable as compared to those new age galactic counselors that charges like 130-140.00 to 2000.00? If you want serious healing, you need to work off your a** everyday in order to transmute the dis-ease that was embedded in your dna for some reason that was caused by your ancestral lineages. If you are broke and trying to get a cheap rate from his sessions, that's unreasonable or expect free healing. You probably wore out their patience that caused them to give you a negative reaction. He owes you nothing to treat you. I personally know of a healer that has healed people that never asked of him or expect him to, they took him for granted and never bothered giving him feedback. Btw, he does it for free and for anyone, that asks him to do it, he'd do it. Lately he had a change of heart and will only treat people who he thinks deserves healing.

I don't know what happened with your situation and SFQ, but I have found that if the cost of a healer or workshop is prohibitive in cost or doesn't feel great during the purchase process, then it is not the right one for me.

I have had workshop leaders say, "Take the leap with the money (a credit card) and it will come back to you", and then they tell a story about someone who "made the leap" and the money came back within a week or so in an unexpected way.

This sales pitch has worked on me and the money has not returned and this led to a lot of stress during my 20s when I was really into taking workshops.

That's a nice story of money coming back but not a fair way to market services, because there is tension involved in making that financial strain and the return doesn't happen to everyone. And then what?

Generally, if you are confronted with a choice of whether to do a healing or program or not and the choice to do it causes discomfort from a financial point of view (or any point of view), mentally make the decision as a "hard NO" and you will see the necessary healing come to you in a way that you can afford that is much more satisfying in the purchasing and process than the first option.

My dog was sick and the doctors wanted to do $10k of tests on him and would have put him through way too much physically and emotionally. It was a hard NO for us. Shortly after, I discovered some tea and an ointment that felt right and cost about $100 total. We tried it out and cleared whatever it was he had in 3 weeks.

I’ve taken classes. worked with Master Lin and have been practicing SFQ for over 25 years. My practice of SFQ deepened my spiritual walk, and continues to bring me peace and healing. It’s been miraculous for me. I had major heart problems back in 2011 and doing the active exercises healed my heart so much so that I didn’t need any medical assistance. I did many phone sessions with Master Lin and they helped although I have to say that my own practice helped more. I have Lyme disease now and practicing for 30 minutes daily takes away pain and brings me peace. I’ll never live life without it. I even used it to help my dad while he was dying. When we’re desperate we often want a magic pill. Qigong isn’t a one-time thing or easy fix. It’s a practice that aligns your energy and balances your body over time. It also brings peace of mind. Master Lin is one of the most integrous people I know. He has helped more than thousands. What it comes down to us this…each of us is responsible for our own healing. We each have to make decisions and live with the consequences. When we blame others and cause trouble, we energetically attract like things into our lives. Master Lin’s courses, products and services are far from the most expensive out there. He also offers many videos on techniques that you can do for free. He has 7 day challenges that are free. He also gets to make a living. So I’m sorry, whining and blaming doesn’t cut it. If you weren’t “feeling” it, you should have followed your gut and stopped.

This is an unhelpful and uncompassionate response. I think the legitimate issue of not getting responses should be spoken to. I am interested in SFQ and that type of behavior would give me pause. Now, it does seem like this customer was intent on being an incredibly squeaky wheel and I would bet anything that there is another side to the story. But bashing someone is no way to handle an issue when it arrises.

Really? My response was far from an unhelpful or uncompassionate. Did you bypass the entire message? I talked about how much SFQ has helped me over the years. And I wrote only two sentences to address the bashing! Truly, if someone doesn’t like it, no one is forcing them to do it. It’s also inappropriate to blame someone who has given so much. The amount of people Master Lin has helped over the years is staggering. It would definitely be worth your time to explore it.

It is up to the people to help themselves. He is guiding but you are taking the path. That isn’t a hard concept or vision to grasp. You have anger. Deal with that first. Anger comes from loneliness, guilt, shame, in which case I am not saying you deserve. I am saying acknowledge where it is you are. SFQ works but, we are all at different stages. Seems so SFQ would be your next step not your present step. I can feel you have resonated with being unheard & unseen. But, you can see & hear yourself, if you listen & this matters too. Blessings.
