Stages of Beauty I am complaining about the debit to my credit card in the amount of $84.98.

I was not aware that i would end up paying almost $90.00 for a 1oz, bottle of retinal eye cream! i only saw a $4.99 fee! i did not see anywhere on their page of additional payments! and it was really sneaky of them to use my debit card to get additional money, i had no idea why my account was short of money, until i looked at my statements... What a ripoff company! i will let everyone on facebook know what kind of company they are and not to order anything from them... I wish i could get my money back!

Stages of Beauty Ethics

Online "free sample" pay $4.99 postage. Sample had no ingredients listed on container nor within packaging. Didn't notice fine print auto ship and ensuing credit card charge of $74.98. They don't answer phone for customer service. Contacting B.B.B. and others such as social networks, etc.

Stages of Beauty I will report them to the Better Business Bureau and the police

I saw an ad for a free sample if i paid the postage $4.99 had to use debit/credit card number, got sample ...over priced if you wanted to order. Thought that was the end of the deal but...no, rec'd package with a larger bottle of the same stuff (1 oz.) and my checking debit/Visa card was debited for $74.88. !

I did not authorize this charge and I did not order the product they sent me. If they do not reimburse me...I will report them to the Better Business Bureau and the police.

This is a scam! Do not deal with them.

Stages of Beauty Billing my debt bank card monthly

I only wanted the free sample and pay for shipping only. They sent out another in October. Shipping document said $0.00 charges so I didn't think anymore about it. I called this morning because this company took out $74.98 again and told them that I never received it. They told me to take it up with my postal service. I told them not to send anymore that I didn't want more than the first sample to try and that they didn't state it would continue sending monthly and billing my debt bank card.

Stages of Beauty Unauthorized Charge

I signed up for trial offer for $4.99 ON 3/12/2012 AND received a trial size of the product. There was no cancellation information on the website I ordered the trial from. I did not check my credit card statement. Now I recently check, I found charge on my credit card on 3/28/12 for $74.98 and $5.77 from these people (FCF stagesbeauty) that I did not authorize and then another charge with same amount on 4/30/12. I see that I am not the only one they ripped off. DON'T TRUST FCF STAGES OF BEAUTY.

Stages of Beauty Charging credit card

I ordered a supposely trial sample with $4.99 shipping fee to be charged to my credit card, in August 2011. I received the sample but on 09/2011 my credit card was wrongfully and unknowingly charged $74.98. I did not authorized this charge nor did I order or receive anything for the charge. I am still getting charged.
See attached.

I tried a sample for $4.99 + a facial scrub on sale for (~ $24.50, usually $29+). On the confirmed page the total came to $37.48 instead of the expected $32.99 or maximum of $35.98 for an extra $2.99 S&H, which would be a total of $8.00 for S&H of perhaps 3 oz. I immediately called the [protected] and got a ridiculously long circular commercial on their skin care products and then the line hung up. I called back and spoke to Emile, operator #121, who was quite nice and after explaining to him what happened, he put me on hold to speak to a supervisor. After another long wait, he came back and told me Abby, the supervisor, thought it was easier to cancel the order and then have me place the correct order over the phone. Since I was trying the sample cream through the Panda survey site, I was going to get a $12 reimbursement for placing a valid order so I declined the over the phone order option to review the Panda 'process'...Emile told me I would receive an email confirmation for voiding the first order I placed. I'll get back on this. These samples are very specific about terms that you are signing up for a continued service. My complaint is it is hard to reach a live person. Perhaps, as the operator suggested I clicked on the wrong option, however, there were 4 options and clearly what came out on the final confirmation was different than what I remember seeing offered. Somehow what ended up on my order was a Grace Cleanser and Scrub Combo for $32.49. Not what I thought; I only saw a Grace Scrub for $24.50. After checking my inbox it would appear I have twice ordered a sample...@1:16p.m. though am not sure what will happen. No time to call back today, but it is my understanding that they will charge another $70+ if I do not call back in 18 days!

I totally agree with the complainer. I have been scammed also. I ordered the trial size for $4.99 and I got billed $82.00 for something I did not order. They should be ashamed of themselves for scamming the elderly. I am on a fixed income and this cost I do not want nor need at this time. I am writing the BBB to see if something can be done before they scam somebody else.

My story is much like the other one - I sent for the "trial sample" and paid the high postage. I did NOT sign up for any type of future monthly deal where they just help themselves to my bank account and they just wiped me out so I could not even pay my vehicle insurance this month. I consider this stealing. Or to be more dramatic - bank robbery. I long ago retuned their UNOPENED package with CANCEL wrtten all over it. I want my $79.87 returned immediately before my drivers license gets suspended from having no insurance. That is the fee the bank told me they took. I have it written right here on the paper she (bank) wrote it on. That is all I had in the bank, if it were not for a few cents left they would have totally closed my account on me ! I'm on low Soc Sec and have no money for a luxury such as this. This was the only time I used my bank card since I got it many years ago, and then this happens. I will never use it again ! Once someone gets that card number, they just dig in and help themselves, and I cannot have that. I do not even use checks because of his reason since all checks have your number on them. I always pay everything by Money Order and have for 45 years. This one time I broke my rule, this happens and the lesson has been forever learned. NEVER USE CREDIT CARDS ! I need my money back immediately. Time is of the essence. Return money to - Carrie Taranova (Little Bright Feather) 4115 Shepherd Road, Lakeland, FL 33811 $79.87 is what was taken out and I only had $80 in the account for my vehicle insurance !

Stages of Beauty What a scam!!

I, too ordered free trill and then received $74.99 package. I didn't even open box. I am furious! No phone number on invoice. I called [protected] and, of course, waited for someone to answer. Rep was very sweet, yet I was furious. First, she offered a discount to keep it and my answer was NO..then she said she credited me back and cancelled my account and THEN told me to keep the product to make me happy. Happy? Never will I be happy with this company. I also called Amex to not pay. I do not trust this company.

Stages of Beauty Tricked and unhappy

They were not upfront with sending you more product automatically-to the tune of $74.98. I had not even had time to trial the sample when the first box came. I called to cancel the product without opening the box, but they said they had already shipped out another box, and it hadn't even been 30 days. Since they had already shipped a second box were unable to refund the box I hadn't even opened yet, giving me a $40.00 refund-but that doesn't cover the other $35.00.

I had the same problem. Never agreed to anything further than the sample. I never rec'd the products but my card has been charged,
Just got off the phone and girl insisted that I rec'd the items. Post Office said you did! Well, I didn't. Good business practice would not send products so close together as previous complaint mentions.
I am not finished with this until all $$$ is refunded.
No time to try the product before next package is sent out. They need to make many changes to their business practices.

No different than a scam situation.

Stages of Beauty Fraudulent free sample offering

Very fraudulent advertising of a free sample which turns into a monthly chage of 75.00 VERY persistent customer sevice actively avoiding my attempts to cancel. My advice is report the charges and company to your credit card, in most cases they will block further charges and refund the $75.00.

I also was going to try the free sample offer however, after reading the terms I immediately changed my mind. It clearly stated that if I did not cancel within 18 days of placing my order my credit card would be charged $79.28 monthly for a one month supply of the product. I am discovering that none of these free sample offers are never free.

An update; ithas now been over three months, and the issie is not resolved. The credit card company took the charge off and registered the dispute with Stages of Beauty. Now we have been notified by the credit card company that the charge is reinstated because Stages of Beauty claims that the product was delivered to us, the terms and conditions, and has stated that they never received the return. I feguire that any return, with the RMA number, but without a tracking number is automatically clamined as not returned. The post office did not return it to us, so they will probably claim that the post office lost it and that we are still responsible.

Have te same problem, ordered $4.99 product, received that and then, without warning, a package costing $75.oo. Yes, we missed it tn the terms and conditions that we were signed up for monthly auto ship. We contacted the company and received an RMA number to return the package, which we never even opened. Now, almost a month later, no sign of the package, and no refund. The company keeps saying that it takes more and more time to process the return. Yes, we made the mistake of not getting a tracking number, we used first class mail as we have done with any returns, without problem. Most companys would tell you upfront that you are signing up for auto ship, not bury it in the terms and conditions. Not a reputable company to do business with.

Same experience with me - ordered the free sample - received another order without my permission.
Previous complaint (or comment) is correct - they're charging my credit card for $74.98.
Will call my Credit Card Company to cancel and possibly refund for an order I did not place.
By the way, their product is not that great - especially not for the price of $75 for a little one ounce bottle.
VERY DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING ! ! ! !
Would not advise anybody to order from this fraudulent company - or ask for a free sample ! ! ! !
By the way - you can't even find a telephone number to call and complain about their actions.

Stages of Beauty Fraud

' Stages of Beauty ' based in Cambridge, MA offered a free trial size of their face cream which I decided to try. I received it just the day before going on a trip. There were no ingredients listed on the product, and being health conscious, I never use anything when a company does not disclose the ingredients they use in their products, so I threw it out, figuring I only wasted $4.99 for shipping & handling, and that I was done with it. When ordering the 'free trial' I did not see the clause about autoshipping one jar every month if I didn't cancel within 18 days of receiving the sample. If I had seen the 'autoship' clause, I never would have order it in the first place, as I travel so much.

When I returned home from my trip, I was surprised to find a new package from the company with another larger jar of their product which I knew I had not ordered, showing a charge of $74.98 to my charge card. I figured they made a mistake. I called the company & talked with a rep who firmly refused to issue a refund for the jar they sent which I had not ordered.

I looked at the ingredients which were printed on this jar, only to see that the cream was full of harmful chemicals and petroleum based ingredients which have been linked with numerous illnesses which I wouldn't use on my skin under any circumstances! The refusal of the company to not issue a refund in light of the circumstances (as well as the non-disclosure of the ingredients in the sample of their product, only later to find that there are harmful ingredients in it)leads me to conclude that this is not an ethical company.

I also was ripped of by these people. I checked my credit card statement and I noticed a charge on my credit card for $74.98 from FCF stages beauty on 01/29/13. I did not authorize this charge. When I called then, they told me I could cancel "the trial" and when I receive the merchandise, send it back and they will refund me $59.99. I called my bank instead, and hopefully I would be able to dispute this charge. I also see that I am another victim of this scam. THEY RIPPE YOU OFF. DON'T TRUST FCF STAGES OF BEAUTY.

I, too, was alarmed at the price, however, all you have to do is call and talk to someone. I have used drug-store products for years and my husband ordered the "free" sample as a sweet gesture. I was skeptical at first, but I loved the night time moisturizer! My issue was the replacement bottles were arriving too soon, and at that price, I thought I should cancel the orders. So I called customer service and the lady recommended I lengthen the time in between orders, which they were happy to do. So they sent every other month. A complaint I do have (which I told the lady on the phone) was the shape of the bottle and the pump. When you'd typically think you were out of moisturizer, because the pump doesn't reach anymore cream, I bet most people toss it (about $10 worth) and reach for the next bottle. But there was so much (expensive) moisturizer left along the sides of the bottle, I hated to throw it away. It lasted for a few weeks, upside down, scraping the sides with the pump "straw". If it were in more of an open jar, you could get to every last bit of this much easier. Anyway, it turned out I called again and had them put more time in between the shipments...maybe I don't use as much as most people but I used once daily and didn't need the bottles so soon. So the $75 stretched over a 3 month period for a great product was easier to swallow. I do love the product. I could tell a difference in my skin pretty quickly. I've used it for about 2 years or more and get many compliments on my skin all the time (I'm 41).

UNDERHANDED AND DECEITFUL. I was looking carefully for a caveat or a clause and never found one. They hide it really well if so many people get burned. You have to spend almost an hour on the phone trying to call them, they have no email, no other way to be contacted. I wish I researched them BEFORE I got involved (first and last time in my life!) and did not have to waste so much time and money and go through this stress. Now guys - even if you had a miracle product and made me look like a 20 year old, I would not touch your product with a 6' pole because of your business practices. I hope somebody will find a way to shut you down!

When hiding an auto- subscription in the terms and conditions is not being blind because one doesn't see or read it - the company knows most people never read it... which is why its illegal in the USA. So I have lodged a complaint with my c/c company as I got the refund except for the shipping, which I was told I was not getting back... I didn't agree to the illegal subscription so I want my money fully refunded. My C/C company said it will take about 2 to 4 weeks to investigate.

In defense of those who didn't read or see the "terms & conditions", the site deliberately wrote it in such a way that it appears to be conditions for another option instead of for simply the free or $0.99 sample. I began to fill out the form but because of the information placed underneath the sample S&H charge information, I chose not to complete the request for a free sample. After reading the many comments about the automatic monthly shipping, I realized if I had completed it, I too would be receiving the monthly orders, but only after I read what people here had to say. The "fine print" was misleading and could easily be mistaken for agreeing to a different or other product from their site.

Same thing happened to me.. Did the free trial and now they are taking 74.95 off my credit card every month. This business needs to be shut down. I want all my money refunded!

I'm getting the free trial. I have marked my calender the day to call to cancel-if I do. I have printed out the web pages with the ingredients listed. I have used expensive products before only to find that they never give you enough in a single (one container) purchase to make any real difference. I'm in the 50+ category and let's face it (no pun intended) you pretty much know in one week how it's working. So stay tuned. We shall see.

Amber2011 - you must be a plant for Stages of Beauty. No way would anyone let them automatically charge you $80 (or more) a month for a product that is inferior.
