plastic usage
I am extremely disappointed by the Stater Bros. move to the use of MORE plastic packaging at a time when most responsible companies are moving to REDUCE plastic use. A kiosk recently opened in the produce section which is devoted to cutting and packaging various sizes of fruits. This has resulted in less room for produce and a decrease in the variety of fresh fruits and vegetables available for purchase. Americans are interested in less plastic packaging, not more. Consumers are capable of cutting their own fruit and putting it in reusable containers. You are moving in the opposite direction of customer sentiment.
service
I really like shopping here but every time I go in employees are intercom happy, or page happy. They call over the loud speaker loud! And it's not a polite call. Seems like everyone is yelling over that thing. It's abrupt and rude in a way. It's already a busy and yelling over the speaker adds chaos and headaches. Probably won't return or maybe go later at night maybe it's quiet.
Read full review of Stater Bros Marketsyour workers not taking breaks and going to lunch 20 min to 40 min. late
Why is it that your workers in grocery stores skip their breaks because they feel pressured not to feeling like they have to work through their breaks and then go to lunch 20min to 40min late for their lunch. What is going on in your stores if it wasnt for your workers doing their job your co. Would have no customers. We as customers come back because of all the hard work they all do to please us all as much as they can. So many of your workers deserve so much more credit than your co. Gives them. Your co. Should be more worried about your workers as your co does your customers.
security officer new system
I have been going to this stater bros as a kid and through out all the staff change or times changing I have never felt so humiliated as well as uncomfortable shopping there on more than 2 different occasions. Now I know all stores need to keep there company up to standards. Theres a reason why this store felt a need to hire security . Now I have a problem...
Read full review of Stater Bros Marketssoda advertisement
There was sodas advertised buy 4 for 12.00 must buy 4 that was for Pepsi brands there wasn't enough diet sprite so I got a 12pk. Of 7up to complete my four which also was on sale for the same amount buy 4 12pks for $12.00 when I was trying to pay the cashier said all 4 have to be from the same brand I figured if these two different brands are on sale for the same amount why can't we mix and match the same price. I didn't buy the sodas After all because I felt the advertisement in the store is misleading and it doesn't make sense since the soda brand are the same price. I am not going to to your store for a long time.
incompetent baggers
For the stater bros on 4th and vineyard in Ontario CA; Retrain your baggers. My family came home yesterday (8/2/19) with 2 cartons of cracked eggs and nearly squished bread because one of the baggers thought it was a great idea to put the eggs and bread at the bottom of a bag with tea jugs on top of it. We're outraged at this waste of our money due to the...

It was negotiated by City Counsel before the Barton Road Store was built that deliveries will not be before 7:00am.
Every morning now I am awoken by your trucks, beeping, clanking, engine noise at 5:30am. My bedroom is at the back of the house. So it is very loud.
Please honor the agreement and deliver at 7:00am.

I just bought 3 Hershey bars because they were buy 2 get one free. As you can see from my receipt I was charged for 2 at $1.99 each then a free one with savings of $1.99. Then a 4th one that I didn't buy but was I charged $1.99 for. Normally I would let this slide but it keeps happening and I don't notice until I get home. Please note receipt and rectify
all employees
Greetings,
This is a step parent of a young employer that works at the Stater Bros in Moreno Valley on Pigeon Pass. By all means, I would like to be anonymous because I do not want my child in any kind of "work drama", which this store often has. At this location, a numerous amount of employees have had sexual contact with each other. It is rather inappropriate, and very unprofessional.
If you do not believe me then by all means, listen closely to what they discuss about in their working hours. They just flirt with one another on the clock or plan on what they will do outside of work. It is VERY disturbing to walk in and know that most have had some kind of sexual contact with each other.
Their social media's tell it all. (Snap chat stories specifically). The girls that work their need to have more respect for themselves, and the men that work there need to stop themselves from engaging.
I do not wish to be contacted, and I wish I knew about this before. I know far too much about these employees and it makes me feel uncomfortable when I go in and grocery shop. I wish to not hear anything inappropriate from this store ever again.
meat
Let me start by mentioning this is the second time that this has happened to me, from the same store. I had previously contacted customer service about my first bad experience and I was told someone from that specific store would call me to accommodate and make up for this mess up, but I did not receive any call or email, absolutely no contact at all from the store. I just let that go.
I continued to shop at our local stater bros store, By passing Trader Joe's, Sam's, Target and Walmart and a few other stores in my neighborhood. I always made it a point to continue to support and take my business to Stater brothers. Yesterday I went into pick up groceries for the week and for a bbq as we were having a few guests over. I spent well over $200. As I always do every week plus little trips in between. I picked up some steak, ribs, sausages and chicken for the bbq and I specifically asked the young gentlemen who was helping me in the butchery if the chicken was fresh and he confidently said it was and not to worry, everything is fresh. I explained I had a bad shrimp experience before but still said it was fine. Again trusting Stater brothers quality, I paid and left. As I got home and was unpacking my groceries, I could smell something really bad so I looked for where the smell was coming from and opened the chicken, that's when I realized it was slimy and rotten. My whole kitchen was stinking and so was my car when I had it in my passenger seat to go return it. When I got there and spoke with teller, I was just simply asked if I want my money back. I asked to speak with the manager as this is the second time this has happened. I was then helped my Marisa, she said she is sorry and went on to try and look for fresh chicken for me at the EXACT value I bought mine for, which i really didnt mind until she could not find anything that matched that and was struggling to make that decision to give me 2 more pieces because of the way it came packed. That really pissed me off. Iam a long time customer of Stater Brothers, I spend thousands of dollars a year only at stater brothers. I was inconvenienced, having to return to store, my time, my gas, my frustration being it the second time this happened, my kid waiting at home, it throws your whole day off. Then I get crappy customer service as if I'm trying to score extra chicken. That really sucks. You guys advertise that you have the best and freshest meat and this is the service I get when you guys mess up. Not once but twice. It scares me to think this could happen again when I'm just picking dinner up quickly. Get home to cook and realize the "fresh food" i just purchased is rotten. That being said, several times I've bought cut veggies and they are slimy in the inside, I end up just trashing them just after I bought them. I understand stuff happens, but this store needs to fix their produce and ESPECIALLY meat department before someone that is not careful gets food poisoning. I'm tired of this, can I still trust Stater Brothers with my family food?
cleo chicken
I went to the store that 5 mins walking next to my job I always get this special 2 pcs for 3.49$ breast and wing, the chicken always dry and old but I eat it anyway because I always get it when am hungry and I have to get back to work but this time is the worst and I asked the worker if they do have fresh chicken coming soon i'll wait and she said no we are not making any more chicken so I toke my order and I left. Thanks in advance.
unethical behavior
I have been a long time customer at Staterbro's and the experience and customer service that I received on December 23, 2018 at the store location 197 was horrible. when checking out with Lance R. I informed him that I had two $100 bills that were stuck together as I handed him the money to pay for my transaction. He took the money and just tossed it in the bottom of his drawer. I then informed him where is my $100 he said "oh I didn't hear you and I don't know what was in the drawer before you handed me the money" he then called Mike M. a manager over and Mike's response was ( a deep breath) "I will have to check the cameras" I informed him that it will look like one $100 bill because they were stuck together. Mike came back down with the same Nonchalant attitude and informed that it just looked like one $100 bill and there was nothing they could do until the drawer was counted, I asked him to count the drawer he refused to do so and informed me that I had to call the next day (Christmas Eve) at 6am. I called Jean the next morning and she had no idea what was going on. Mike did not take down my name contact information and also had no sense of urgency to the situation and provided HORRIBLE customer service. Jean informed me that they would be calling me back around 2pm to inform if the drawer was over. at 3pm David Thielfoldt called to inform money was found. when I returned to the store to get my money he was so rude there was no empathy, no apology for the situation he handed me the money and said "thank you" that was it. I was so shocked that every person that I spoke to in management had horrible customer service as a company you need to look into getting management trained to deal and handle these situations better. I am thankful that I got my money back but this makes me question Staterbros as a brand and store that I would shop at since the way they treated me. customer service is everything now a days and I'm just shocked and hurt by the lack of on this day. Please train management better and train cashiers to listen to customers!
unethical behavior
My complaint is simple, I am being harassed by two male managers and one female Hispanic female in one of your stores. I am being followed around the store for no reason while I try to shop. It is demeaning, frightening and unnecessary in my case.
The Hispanic female employee works a lot in produce and tries to knock up against me. I feel these employees are trying to start something that is just unnecessary. It makes me feel unwelcome, fearful, rushed and stupid. I would wish that ethical profiling is something that is frowned upon in your stores.
I would love to continue to shop there. A desirable resolution is for the behavior to stop.
This unethical stalking employee behavior is happening in the Kendall Drive, SanBernardino, CA store. And the stalking is being done by two male store managers or supervisors.
store unstocked shelves
On Tuesday 9/25 I did my usual weekly shopping. The store was out of bulk canned cat food, cases of Fanta, 24 case of Arrowhead Water and blueberries in the product dept. This is only a few of the items on my list. The dairy and juice sections seemed to be stocked well but the rest of the store was practically empty. In order to buy everything I needed, I had to buy individual cans and bottles which increased the price of my total bill by approx. $50 because I could not buy in bulk as I usually do.
I asked the checker why the shelves were empty and she said it was because the store did not have enough help and everyone had to be in the check stands instead of stocking the shelves.
This cost me, the customer, $50 because Stater Bros will not pay to keep enough employees on hand to keep the shelves stocked.
If this continues, I may as well shop at Vons. At least there, I know I will find everything I need and it won't cost me any more than buying at Stater Bros, which used to be less expensive.
their brand 1.75 qts ice cream all flavors
When you go to take the lid off of the container, the rim, side part separates from flat top (main ) part, therefore you don't have a seal for remaining ice cream, therefore it goes bad quicker . I love their ice cream ! I know companies are trying to save money, especially on pkg ., but it's getting ridiculous, especially if it risk the food inside. If the lid separates that easily, how is the ice cream sealed probably when it is put in the container in manufacturing ? This to me is a quality control issue.

store managers
I was in your store on KENDALL DRIVE and I believe the person that rang me up was the store manager short Hispanic gentleman with glasses. I purchased some naked bars and the sign said 3 for $5 and they rang up wrong . After I walked to the area where they were to show him the price when we get back to the register he asked me how did you pay with food stamps and I feel he said this because I'm black. I didn't want to start a scene because there was already some gentleman that were becoming irate because theyhadbeen waiting. I have been living in the Shandin Hills area for the last twenty three years and have been a customer of your market but I will not be discriminating against. I wanted to bring this to someone's attention and I hope it's not just ignored.
unethical stalking employee behavior
Today 9-8-18 I had experienced some of the worst service of my life at the stater bros Kensington Dr, Tustin Location. Mr Adam; an employee; or professional stalker, for the better of 45 minutes proceeded to follow me around the store. Every Isle I went down he was shortly behind watching my every move.
Now I do not look like a hoodlum, I'm a well off to do 30 yr old, and pretty normal looking. At first I took his few passings as an annoying coincidence, but after I started seeing him peering at me from the corners, and catching reflections in cooler doors of me, it's when my survival instincts kicked in. Making a few extra turns, and back-tracking, he surely followed along for the ride. I also caught him talking crap about me with another employee on the stairs leading to administrative area; hence after their conversations they both awkwardly looked at me.
Luckily for me, I was able to get him at my checkstand - what a coincidence again.
I very calmly confronted him with a simple question of "I want an explanation as to why you were following me around the store?" He deflected and got very defensive. It was the worst admission of guilt I have likely experienced.
Now I have shopped here more than 20 times in your short opening. There's no reason to assume I was going to steal a gigantic $300 basket of food & drinks, in gym clothes with literally one pocket. So unless he was trying to "check me out" which I did ask him if that was his intention, what other reason would you have for talking about other employees about me, and spending all of that time walking around aimlessly in my near footsteps. Have better judgement. Due to his inability to explain himself, and complete deflection of my safety concern in the store, I walked out without my groceries. I gave you a chance to explain yourself, and you failed.

customer sensitivity
I had a checker tell fellow customers that I had WIC and that is why it is taking so long to check out. The other costumer yelled at the checker asking if he could call for help the lines are long and the checker responded that he was sorry someone is coming and he is doing WIC which takes a while. I felt like that was unessary information. I didn't need to be outed like that. I'm 7 months pregnant and was with my two other children. I literally wanted to shrivel up and just leave but I couldn't without my WIC
customer service
Well, the cashier seems nice to everyone who skin color is white. But as i always aproach (im hispanic) she is rude and doesnt speak to me the same way as the other white customers. Some cashiers will just look at you from head to toe. I also seen this in other hispanics walking in the store not only me as you can see its racial profiling. I think that if you dont like working with all kinds of people why would you work at stater bros?
