A Review of StorageTreasures.com: Glitches, Unfairness and Bidding Woes
So, I tried out StorageTreasures.com and boy, was I in for a surprise! I was bidding on an auction that was supposed to end on 11/4. However, as soon as the clock hit 0, the timer reset on not one, but four Extra Space auctions. You can imagine how ticked off I was. I thought, "what the heck?! Did someone steal my time?" And so, I decided to reach out to their customer support to file a complaint.
The representative who replied to my email was Sarafina, and let me tell you, she had no idea what she was talking about! She had the nerve to tell me that their website has no such features that can reset the time for 24 hours. What a joke! I mean, seriously, how many people have to complain before they fix this issue? When I read other reviews, it was clear that I wasn't the only one who had experienced this unfairness.
Despite my objections, she was quick to remind me that all bids placed on their website are legally binding. So basically, there was nothing they could do about it. What a bummer! But hey, don't get too excited if you outbid me and win the auction. You're still responsible for paying and picking up the unit. So make sure you follow the proper procedures before the end of the clean-out period. You wouldn't want your account suspended, would you?
Overall, I guess StorageTreasures.com is alright. It certainly has its fair share of pitfalls. But if you're willing to take the risk, who knows, you might end up with some sweet deals! Just don't be surprised if you encounter some glitches along the way. And if you do, feel free to reach out to their customer support at ***503 or reply via email. Sarafina, you best watch out 'cause I'll be back!
Disappointing Experience with StorageTreasures.com: Bidding System and Customer Service Issues
Recently, we had a not so great experience with StorageTreasures.com. We were in the market for some storage units and bid on five of them through their website. Now, we were under the impression that we were winning all five units as they did not notify us that we were outbid. However, we were wrong as only two of the units were actually won by us. This was a big letdown as we like to bid on multiple units, especially when we are driving three hours (one way) to get them, and it just isn’t cost-effective to win one or two units.
Another issue we faced was that the bid time did not increase by two minutes each time a new bid was placed. Instead, it remained at the same bid amount of $150. It turned out that another bidder had a higher max bid entered but the bid did not go up to $160 like it should have, which kept the overall bid low on these units. This was not only unfair to the facilities selling the units but also to the tenants who have the bid amounts credited to their outstanding balance that is subject to collection.
When we arrived to get the units that we did win, we were disappointed to learn that only two were available to us, despite believing we had won all five. The facility told us that we had the option of not paying for the units after driving three hours. Now, that would have been very unfair to the facility selling the units and would have been a stupid decision since we had already driven three hours in a box truck with a trailer. We have the printouts that show what really happened during the bidding process.
The customer service we received was far from impressive as well. We called multiple times, each time being told that a supervisor was in a meeting and would call us back. That never happened, by the way. It’s appalling that customer service can be so poor in this day and age.
In the future, we will be steering clear of StorageTreasures.com and will be using LockerFox instead. It’s just not worth the aggravation or the three-hour drive.
Beware of StorageTreasures.com and Public Storage Scam: My Experience Losing a Louis Vuitton Bag
Alright folks, let me tell you about my experience with StorageTreasures.com. I thought I hit the jackpot with a unit that had a possible Louis Vuitton bag and clutch in it. The bidding was intense, it stayed at $100 for a while. Then, last couple of minutes before the closing time, the bid jumped over $200, and guess who won? Moi.
Here's the catch: storage treasures charged me $40 to collect the stuff, and when I got to the facility, I had to cough up $337 for the unit. Mind you, I drove over an hour through traffic plus tolls and gas money. But that's not even the worst part - when I opened the unit, the Louis Vuitton bag was gone. GONE, y'all. Someone snagged it right from under my nose. Don't believe me? I used their pictures as reference, and it was there before I won the bid.
So I did what any reasonable person would do - I talked to both public storage and storage treasures. They refunded their fees, but refused to reimburse me for any expenses I incurred. Public storage said it's not their problem and that I should talk to storage treasures. When I called them and finally got ahold of someone named Shannon, she was beyond rude and sarcastic. And the cherry on top? She straight hung up on me when I confronted her about her attitude. Before that, she had the audacity to tell me, "That's a problem you have to take up with public storage. You didn't do business with us!" Absolute madness.
I'm so fed up with this. It's not the first time something like this happened, but it's definitely the last. I'm planning to sue both companies. They knew something wrong happened, and they refused to acknowledge and correct it.
Here are some photos for reference. The first few is what I bid on - you can see the Louis Vuitton bag on the right. And the last photo is when I opened the unit, with an employee standing next to me.
Folks, don't fall into the same trap as me. Stay away from StorageTreasures.com and public storage. They're scams, and they'll take your hard-earned money without a second thought.
Removing Misinformation: How StorageTreasures.com Really Works
Hey there potential StorageTreasures.com customers,
I wanted to take a minute to clear up some misinformation out there about our company. First things first, StorageTreasures.com is an online auction site that links bidders with independent self-storage facilities who are auctioning off defaulted storage units. So just like an auctioneer or eBay, we handle the bidding process, but have zero control over the goods being auctioned.
It's important to note that state laws govern storage unit auctions, and the actual posting and delivery of the units is governed by the individual self-storage facilities. This means that tenants have the right to cure their auction up until the point that the buyer pays for the unit. It's not uncommon for tenants to cure their auction, and unfortunately this can sometimes result in unhappy buyers.
Recently, a disgruntled customer who had purchased a unit from us claimed that we "liked the storage and wanted to buy it ourselves". Let me tell you, this couldn't be further from the truth. We don't bid on storage units, and we don't have the ability to cancel an auction. Only the self-storage facility has that power, whether it's a live or online auction.
While we're sorry that this customer wasn't satisfied with their purchase, it's important to remember that this issue was between the bidder and the self-storage facility. We're simply the middleman. In fact, we've facilitated over 70,000 online auctions with a whopping 95% buyer base of over 800,000 bidders. We're darn proud of that.
Thanks for considering StorageTreasures.com for your online storage unit bidding needs. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, we're here to help.
Best regards,
James Grant and the StorageTreasures Team!
Warning: My Disastrous Experience with StorageTreasures.com
So, I gotta tell you guys about my experience with StorageTreasures.com... or should I say StorageNightmares.com! I thought it was gonna be an awesome opportunity to score a sweet unit, but man was I wrong.
First off, I thought I was bidding on a unit with a "Running Car", tools, and all kinds of goodies. Spent close to two grand on that bad boy. Then comes time to go pick it up and things start getting sketchy. There's no phone number for the storage facility, so I had to rely on some number provided by the folks at StorageTreasures.com. Turns out it was the owner, manager, and all-around shady dude I'd be dealing with.
We show up the next day ready to haul our treasure away, but the "facility" was nothing more than a mechanic's shop with like ten units in the back. The guy we met tried to play dumb, but then magically knew how to help us cut the lock that was jammed. And after we finally got into the unit, lo and behold... every single box was EMPTY! And the "Running Car" was a piece of junk. No battery, not even close to being in driving condition.
Thankfully, after talking to the folks at StorageTreasures.com, Patty (who was actually a decent human being) told us that the auction was gonna be cancelled because the owner had no paperwork to actually be selling the unit as part of a facility. And she even got us our money back!
But that's not the end of the story. I log onto my StorageTreasures.com account a few days later to check on my refund, and what do I find? BANNED for apparently no reason! So I call and talk to this dude named Mike, who was just a rude little twerp. He claimed the sale was legit and blah blah blah. After some back and forth, he eventually unblocked my account and said we could "part ways" with the seller. Like I wanna do any kind of business with these crooks ever again...
So, to sum it up... Stay FAR away from StorageTreasures.com unless you really enjoy dealing with fishier situations than week-old carp. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
StorageTreasures.com: My Experience with Online Storage Auctions. A Total Scam!
Hey there, folks! So, I wanted to give you my experience with StorageTreasures.com. To put it bluntly, it was a total scam. As someone who loves attending in-person auctions for storage units, I was excited to try out the online format. But, let me tell you, it's not the same thing at all.
Instead of having the excitement of bidding with others in person, the online auctions were more like a rigged game. I watched as the auction end time kept getting extended, even though I had submitted my bid with plenty of time to spare. It extended four times, to be exact. And each time, new bids kept coming in. That's some shady stuff.
Plus, when I tried to talk to a rep about it, he was so rude and dismissive. Basically, he told me too bad, so sad. According to him, there was nothing that could be done. And, honestly, I've read so many negative reviews online about StorageTreasures.com that I'm pretty convinced they don't care about their customers at all.
There are a lot of other issues, too, like extra fees that aren't mentioned anywhere, lockers being rummaged through by management before they're even listed, and canceled auctions with no explanation or refunds.
Honestly, the whole thing seemed like a big scam to me. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. And, hey, if you're interested in auctions like these, I'd say skip the online format altogether and stick to the in-person ones. At least that way you know exactly what you're getting into.
Mixed Experience with StorageTreasures.com: Lack of Control over Shill Bidding and Quality Control
In my experience, StorageTreasures.com has its ups and downs. While it's a great concept, the lack of control over shill bidding and quality control is concerning.
First off, the picture formatting needs some work. When trying to see details in pictures, you can't zoom in, which can be frustrating. Additionally, the pictures always close when looking at them, which is a minor annoyance but still an annoyance nonetheless.
To combat shill bidding and manage scams, StorageTreasures.com needs to show customers who the high bidder is. Currently, they don't show who the high bidder is at any point during the auction, and once the auction is over, it disappears. It would be helpful to have a history of the auction and see what username/bidder is winning certain auctions in your area.
I've followed several auctions that end with historic prices, and half of them come back the next month again. Did they not pay, or did the shill bidder go too far? It's hard to tell with too many sketchy factors at play.
I've received 2nd chance offers several times after the auction is over, which means the initial winner didn't pay. However, most of those units go up for auction again, sometimes three or four times. It feels like these units were bid up by someone and then not paid for. For example, I had a max bid of $1,500 on a unit in Seattle, and within two days, it was bid up to $1,510 and sold for that price. The next day, StorageTreasures.com offered me a second chance offer for $1,500, and I declined. The unit was then relisted for significantly less and sold for even less the following month. It all felt fishy.
While this is all speculation, I'm starting to wonder if StorageTreasures.com has fake accounts in place to bid up units. With nobody knowing who's bidding or winning units, there's no trace to the public. It wouldn't be hard to do, and with thousands of units up for auction every month across the country, the potential is there for them to earn tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional fees.
Overall, I love live auctions and am super bummed that storage auction buying has come down to this sketchy, scam-riddled model. While I may still use StorageTreasures.com, it's not my preferred method.
Navigating the Dark Side of Storage Auctions: My Experience with Storagetreasures.com
So, I've been in the storage locker buying game for quite a while now, since 1998 to be exact. It's a pretty exciting hustle, I must say. I started off in California but now I'm based in PA. Recently though, I had a rather unfortunate experience on StorageTreasures.com (storagetreasures.com). I was bidding on a unit, and as it often goes, it came down to the last 2 minutes. The back-and-forth bidding got pretty intense, and I ended up losing out on it by an additional $1,200. Bummer, right?
But wait, it gets worse. Three whole days later, I was out of state minding my own business, when I got an unexpected call from storage treasures. They offered me the same locker I had lost out on, at my last bid, because the high bidder never paid up. So, I bit and bought the unit. But then I noticed something strange. The aforementioned high bidder had been bidding me up to that amount in the first place, and his bids should have been wiped out completely. This meant that I had actually ended up paying an extra $1,200 for the unit. Ouch.
So, here I was feeling a bit jaded, but wanting to give StorageTreasures the benefit of the doubt. I noticed another auction come up, with what looked like identical items, at the same facility. It had a bid of over $500, but then it disappeared from the site. I called to find out what happened, and turns out there was some mistake in the newspaper ad. I waited and waited, but it seemed like the auction was never going to be posted again.
But, lo and behold, the next day it was back up on the site, same bid amount and all. This little episode had me questioning the entire auction company. Were there false bids? Shill bidding? Were the high bidders actually paying up in the end? So many questions. I even got a call from a District Attorney one day, who was investigating another auction house for Shill bidding and raising prices up. He informed me that many states were cracking down on online auctions and storage auctions in particular.
So, what's a buyer to do? It's important to be as vigilant as possible and try to protect ourselves from any risks. One website that seems to be doing it right is lockerfox.com. They show the user IDs of the bidders, and if you're suspicious, you can follow the user IDs and registrations. It's a good way to stay on top of things. Well, I've definitely learned my lesson and will be doing my due diligence from now on. Live and learn, I guess! #StorageAuctions #Storagetreasures #Storage #Auctions
Buyer Beware: My Experience with Shill Bidding and Inflated Prices on Storage Treasures
Oh man, where do I even start with Storage Treasures? Let me tell you, this pandemic has been a real blessing for them. They're raking in millions of dollars in fees with fifteen to twenty thousand auctions per month. But let me tell you something, if you think you're getting buyer protection as a bidder, you better think again!
These guys are all about inflating prices, staging units, and shill bidding. I mean, don't even bother trying to get a deal unless you're willing to pay way over retail. And if you do somehow manage to win an auction, don't be surprised if the facility cancels it when they realize the price is too low. Or worse yet, they might cancel it after they've already charged your card for the fees.
Now, I've been keeping an eye on Storage Treasures for years, and I've seen some outrageous prices for units in the Seattle area. And you know what's funny? A lot of those auctions get relisted the next month and go for way less money. But despite all their shady tactics, I decided to give it a shot and bid on 15 units this month. And you know what? I didn't win a single one.
But that's not the worst part. Oh no. I got FIVE phone calls from their customer service trying to get me to take a second chance offer. They even gave me the option to buy the unit at my max bid. What kind of nonsense is that? One unit I bid on went for over a grand before fees and taxes, and my max bid was only $590. And they had the nerve to offer it to me for that price? I asked them when the shill bidder (you know there's always one) started bidding me up. If it was at $350, I'd be willing to pay that. But of course, they didn't like that question and hung up on me.
And let me tell you something else. There's no history of who's bidding on these units. So, it could be Storage Treasure employees, unit owners, or facility managers bidding them up. And if they go too high, they know they can always use that "second chance offer" to sell it to someone anyway.
Honestly, I don't know how this business model is sustainable. I think more and more buyers are getting wise to their shady tactics. Plus, a lot of buyers aren't even claiming the units they win, which means the facilities aren't moving their inventory fast enough. And let's not forget the risk of fraud that comes with all of this.
Listen, I really miss the good old days of going to an auction, chatting with other buyers, and actually getting a good deal. I can't wait for this online system to come crashing down!
Horror Story: My Terrible Experience with Storagetreasures.com and Their Customer Service
So, let me start by telling you about my experience with storagetreasures.com. I was browsing through their website and found an auction that I wanted to bid on. After a little bit of bidding war, I won the auction and was super excited to pick up my new treasures.
My son and I drove our trucks an hour away from home to the storage facility. We met the clerk, who seemed friendly and helpful at first. However, he then mentioned that there was a mistake in the unit measurements, which didn't match what was advertised on the website. I found that odd, but I was still eager to see my new unit.
Before we even opened the unit, the clerk informed us that someone had already opened the tamper and removed the lock. He said that they were supposed to open it in front of us but had failed to do so. Hmm, suspicious.
Finally, we opened the unit and were greeted with a scene straight out of a horror movie. The unit was covered in dust, roaches, spider webs, and insects. It was like being transported back in time to a storage unit that had been abandoned for decades. Trash littered the unit, and there were broken glass shards everywhere. It was clear that the storage company had not bothered to clean it.
I was pretty grossed out and decided that the unit was not worth the money, cleaning deposit, or the health risk. I called the storage clerk and told him I wouldn't be removing anything from the unit. He could keep the cleaning deposit, and I was done with it.
But things got even worse. I called storagetreasures.com to let them know about the terrible conditions of the unit. However, the representative on the phone was not very understanding and defensive, insisting that I had to remove everything from the storage unit. And then they did the unthinkable: they banned me from their website!
I was outraged. I couldn't believe I was punished for calling out their lousy customer service. The representative didn't even listen to my side of the story, and I was banned less than two minutes into the call. How's that for customer service?
I think there should be some regulations that protect bidders from hazardous conditions like the ones I encountered. If a unit is full of dust, roaches, and other pests, the storage facility should be responsible for letting bidders know before auctioning it off.
Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with storagetreasures.com's customer service and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I own a trailer storage unit rental company. My company is exactly the same as the company PODS which delivers units to your desired location only my units are literally on wheels and can be hitched to a truck for easy and quick delivery to my customers. I requested to use their facility online auctioning system so as to sell the contents of lien units, just like PODS does. I was denied the services by Chris Rosa’s supervisor. Chris Rosa is a Business Development Manager for StorageTreasures and is also a Licensed Auctioneer. I’m not sure why I'm being treated differently than PODS, but it is very unprofessional on their part do deny me, at a minimum, an opportunity to see if they fit my needs as a storage unit rental business. The good thing is that there are tons of other businesses just like them and was able to easily move on to my Plan B. NEXT!
Claimed loss: Opportunity
Desired outcome: None, I won’t give them another chance.

Storage treasures
I see that the online storage auction service Storage Treasures is creating an incentive for the managers of many different storage facilities in California and across the United states to go out of their way to insure tenants are not able to recover their unit so it goes to auction. There are people who are bidding on behalf of other people who invest money on whatever unit their representative decides should turn a profit. These people who are bidding on units on others behalf are collaborating with the managers of different facilities and getting inside information on which units have valuables in them and this in turn is causing the managers to treat the defaulting tenants biased. I have seen this for myself and it's causing the tenants irreparable harm. I have documented hundreds apon hundreds of cases where the tenant was lied to about the auction date and many other instances of the people working at these storage places unfairly charging up a customers bill, refusing to take partial payments, lying about various things ect. This is unacceptable and seriously needs to stop. It's causing units to go up to 3000 dollars a lot of the time which is far more than the balance owed and I have never ond time heard of any person getting the money owed to them. The money that is in excess over the amount that was owed belongs to the customer previous tenant not the storage company or anybody else. This is where the incentive is being what is illegally profited from. There is no system in place in which the person who lost their unit has to recover that money and everytime I have asked for proof as to how much the unit actually sold for they refuse to give me any.
Unethical Behavior at StorageTreasures.com - My Disappointing Experience
Hey guys,
So, I gotta be real with you about my experience with StorageTreasures.com. I won't lie, it was a bit of a let down.
Here's the deal - I placed a bid on an auction for a storage unit and when I went to check it out, I noticed that things had been moved around. And not just moved around a little bit - it was obvious that someone had gone through the unit and even taken pictures of some of the items, like a guitar, before putting them back.
I called up the customer service folks at Storage Treasures to ask what the heck was going on, and they basically told me that it wasn't that big of a deal. They said there was nothing illegal about it and that it was all within their policies.
Um, excuse me? Last time I checked, storage facilities aren't allowed to go through people's stuff unless they've taken ownership of it. And it's just not right for Storage Treasures to allow that kind of shady behavior on their site just so they can make some extra cash.
And here's another thing - some storage facilities don't even want to auction off people's personal documents, like photos or tax records. But apparently, Storage Treasures doesn't require their sellers to follow the rules and keep those kinds of things out of the auction. Not cool, guys.
So, to sum it up - Storage Treasures, shame on you! You need to do better and make sure your auctions are fair and ethical for everyone.
Storagetreasures.com Review: Cancelled Auctions and Rude Customer Service - Not Worth Your Time
So, I gotta tell you guys about my experience with storagetreasures.com. I won a unit in Gaithersburg, Md and I was stoked. But let me tell you, they're pretty sneaky. They base their auctions on how much the owner owes them, not necessarily on the value of the stuff in the unit. So, I won with a bid of $677 - not too shabby, right? Wrong.
After I won, I got an email confirmation and I paid the LLC. But when I called to schedule a clear out date, they hit me with the bombshell: the auction had been cancelled. What the heck, you guys?! I already won fair and square and I paid up, but they cancelled it anyway. And not even in a nice way, either. The guy on the phone (Michael, apparently the only person in customer service there) was super rude and basically said they can do whatever they want.
Now, this is what really grinds my gears. Storagetreasures.com doesn't make it very clear that they can cancel auctions after the fact. They don't even give you a heads up or a warning. So, you think you won, but they can just pull the rug out from under you like that. What kind of customer service is that? It's definitely not good.
Apparently, this company has been around for years and they've sold millions of units. But honestly, I don't see how they can keep going like this. This is not a good way to do business, you guys. It's not fair to the bidders who put in the time and effort to win and then have the rug pulled out from under them.
So, I'm thinking about getting some legal representation involved with this. I mean, I'm not gonna let them just walk all over me like that. This auction is the worst. Don't waste your time, guys.
Buyer Beware: My Frustrating Experience with StorageTreasures.com
Man, let me tell you about my experience with StorageTreasures.com. I won an auction yesterday and was super excited to go pick up my new treasures today. But guess what? The auction was canceled! Can you believe it? I mean, I know they can cancel last minute, but come on. I even called the facility before leaving home to make sure everything was good to go. And then I get there and find out it's canceled? Waste of my time, man.
And this isn't the first time this has happened to me. I've been doing auctions for over 15 years, way before this website even existed. And I can tell you, this has happened to me at least 7 or 8 times in the span of a year. The facility usually emails or gives me a call to let me know it's canceled, but not every single time. And the last two times, I didn't even get a call. That's just ridiculous.
It's really frustrating because storage auction hunting used to be a fun little adventure. But now, it's all controlled by this dumb website. They don't care about us buyers, man. They have no responsibility or nothing. And let me tell you, I ain't got time to waste on this dumb $#*!. So buyer beware, folks. Don't trust these guys too much.
Beware of Shady Behavior: My Experience with StorageTreasures.com
So, listen up guys, I gotta tell you about my experience with StorageTreasures.com. I was all pumped up to bid on a unit, feeling like a total baller, when my little demon of a 1-year-old decided to slap the keyboard as I was trying to send my bid through. And guess what? Instead of a cool $100, my bid was for $1000! Can you even?!
Anyway, I freaked out and immediately contacted their support team (like their website told me to do). But these guys took a couple of hours to respond, and even then it was just some dude named Arturo Lopez. He told me that he would talk to IT and get my bid changed as long as it was still under $100 (which it was).
So, I breathed a little easier and waited for them to fix it. But let me tell you, waiting for StorageTreasures.com to do anything is like waiting for a sloth to run a marathon. It took them FOUR days to respond and even then they didn't do anything about it! Meanwhile, my bid kept inching up higher and higher.
I blasted them with four messages, but no response. I'm pretty sure they were just waiting for the bid to spiral out of control so they could throw their hands up and act like they couldn't do anything about it. It's like they were secretly hoping for my kid to slap the keyboard harder and create more chaos.
I'm sorry, but I can't deal with this kind of shady behavior. It doesn't take a rocket scientist, or even a 2-year-old, to fix a bid on their own damn website. As customers who are literally funding their business, we deserve better than their unwillingness to help us out.
So, needless to say, I'll never be using StorageTreasures.com again. Save your money and attend live auctions if you can. Trust me, you don't want to deal with these guys.
Disappointing Experience with Storagetreasures.com: Auction Scam or Shady Business Practices?
So, I had the urge to try out storagetreasures.com when I saw they had an auction on a storage unit close to my house, and I decided to give it a go. After winning the bid on the website, I followed their instructions and gave the storage facility a call to let them know I was coming over to claim my prize. And you know what they said? "Yes, come on!" So, I drove across town with excitement only to arrive at the storage facility and found that there was only one woman working there. She confirmed that she was the one I spoke with, but she had other plans - her lunch break. No worries, I thought, I'd wait it out and claim my belongings soon. But oh no, that was a mistake.
After waiting for 30 long minutes in my car, I went back in and asked her about the unit. She told me that the owner had paid the balance and I couldn't have it. I was confused - what do you mean? According to the website, the auction didn't even end until 3 PM but the storage facility's computer said the owner had paid at 2:15 PM. It didn't make sense, and I was pretty mad. Come on, storagetreasures.com what is this? A scam? I called their customer service and complained, but they just shrugged it off and said there was nothing they could do. Really? You're just going to let this happen? Not even an apology or some compensation for the time wasted?
I'll be honest, I raised my voice a little at the lady who made me wait through her lunch break, but that's no reason to ban me from bidding on storage units at that location! And get this, it was an hour away from my house! Can you imagine the time and gas wasted? Ridiculous. I'm sorry, storagetreasures.com, but you're just not worth it. The whole situation seemed pretty shady, and I don't want to deal with it ever again. The least you could do was warn me that the storage unit had the potential for the owner to pay off the balance before the auction ended. So, yeah, I won't be using your website again.
Unprofessional and Unreliable: My Disappointing Experience with Storage Treasures
Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with StorageTreasures.com - or as I like to call it, Storage Treasures!
So I'm just a regular person out there looking for some storage units to buy and sell, you know, just trying to make a buck. I spent ages researching and finally found a unit that wasn't on their prohibited list - which was hard to come by in my area. I even called them up to double check that everything was all good, and they reassured me that it was.
So I bought the unit, spent all night putting my items in there, and then started working on my listing. But here's where things went south. When I went to add my facility to my account, it wasn't showing up. I had to call them the next morning and get it sorted, but when I finally posted my auction, it was immediately cancelled.
I called up and they said it was because my credit card wasn't on file, so I gave them my card info. But still, nothing was working. Finally, I spoke to someone named Elly who told me that the facility had just been added to their list, so I couldn't post the auction. I had spent three hundred bucks on that unit and had been on the phone with them so many times before, and no one had said anything about this until I tried to post.
Even worse, they told me there was nothing they could do and that the facility had been added on February 10 - but the other representative told me it was the day before. They were contradicting themselves left and right and honestly, it was just really unprofessional.
I feel like Storage Treasures doesn't care about their sellers or buyers at all. It's like they're just in it for themselves and don't really care about the people who are actually trying to use their site. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Storage Treasures Review: Proceed with Caution for Lien Unit Buyers
As an avid swap meet vendor on the beautiful island of Hawaii, I've been on the hunt for lien units to purchase and resell for a hot minute. Unfortunately, with the pandemic shutting down live auctions, my options were limited. Enter Storage Treasures - the only game in town now.
Last year, I've purchased five units through their website and had a bit of a mixed bag experience. The first three were alright to great - score! But things went sideways on the last two lockers.
Let me tell you about the fourth unit - I paid a hundred bucks for a 5 x 10 unit filled with heavy equipment and grainy photos that seemed a bit too staged. But wait, there's more! When I got to the storage office to put down my deposit, I was greeted with a massive poster urging tenants to donate their unwanted "junk" for "chariy". Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for charitable causes, but I specifically unchecked managers specials and charity lockers every time I clicked on a unit. So imagine my surprise when I found myself looking at a unit full of broken pressed wood furniture and a hand truck (heavy equipment?).
Well, let's just say that the cost of disposing of that sorry excuse for items was more than my $100 deposit, so I walked away. But here's the kicker - Storage Treasures still got their fee regardless of what I encountered. And what did I get in return? They suspended my account. Can you believe it?! Apparently, it's not enough to be a victim of these a-holes, they demand willing victims.
So, if you're thinking of using Storage Treasures for your lien unit needs, I say proceed with caution and always double-check for any sneaky hidden listings. Don't become a victim like me.
StorageTreasures.com: A Terrible Business Model Exposed
I've been using StorageTreasures.com since 2015, and everything was going pretty smoothly until I had an awful encounter with a facility manager who swore at me last year. This manager lied about what happened, which ended up with them selling the unit I'd reserved to someone else. Not only did I lose out on the unit, but StorageTreasures kept my buyer's fees of around $40, even though they knew I hadn't done anything wrong.
When I reached out to StorageTreasures, they told me that I should be banned from the site because I had sworn at the manager. But it's funny how they wanted to keep my money and let me continue using the website if it was all my fault, right? It seems like they were just interested in making more money off of me, and couldn't care less about what had happened.
To make matters worse, StorageTreasures downgraded my account without telling me, so I ended up paying a higher buyer's premium of 15% instead of the 10% I should have been charged. They didn't even bother to let me know about this downgrade until after I had made a purchase on the site. When I called to ask about it, they didn't seem to care at all that I hadn't been informed.
I feel like I'm stuck using StorageTreasures because all of the facilities in my area use them, but I wouldn't choose to do business with them if I had another option. Nickeling and diming customers is just a terrible business model, and it's clear from the other reviews online that I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Disappointed with StorageTreasures.com: A Cautionary Tale of Bidding on Storage Units
Hey guys, I wanted to share my experience with StorageTreasures.com. I recently bid on a storage unit and to my disappointment, the unit did not match the photo that was displayed in the auction post. In fact, it seemed like the seller had purposely staged a photo of a different unit altogether to lure in bidders. I was upset to find out that all the boxes were filled with trash except for a broken monitor. This was definitely not what I was expecting from the auction post, especially since it had promised electronic items.
When I reached out to StorageTreasures.com to voice my concerns, I was met with a cold response. They basically said that they cannot do anything about it and the responsibility lies solely with the seller. To be honest, I was quite disappointed because I thought StorageTreasures.com would be a reputable platform for bidding on storage auctions. However, it seems that they do not take any responsibility for their sellers' actions.
I was told by Tamya Robinson from StorageTreasures Help Center that they do extensive training with facilities to make sure they are following local lien laws, but they do not require their sellers to be honest or transparent. I found this quite concerning and realized why StorageTreasures.com has such a low rating.
Overall, my experience with StorageTreasures.com has not been a good one. I would advise others to be cautious when bidding on storage units from this platform, and to always reach out to the facility manager or upper management if you feel there is an issue. I hope StorageTreasures.com takes more responsibility for their sellers' actions and improves their platform to ensure a better and more transparent auction experience.
StorageTreasures.com Review: A Total Rip-off with Hidden Fees and Unfair Bidding System
Man, let me tell you about my experience with StorageTreasures.com. At first, it seemed like a really sweet deal. I was on the hunt for some cheap storage units and this site was promising just that. But as soon as I started bidding on some bigger units, things started to get shady.
See, StorageTreasures.com charges you extra fees on top of what you bid on the unit. And they don't make it clear until you've already won the bid. So you think you're getting a killer deal for $10 on a unit, but then all of a sudden you're being charged $18 extra and then there's tax and some storage facility fees they don't tell you about. Next thing you know, that $10 turns into $155.
And here's the real kicker: the bidding system is totally unfair. Anyone can make as many accounts as they want and fake their name, so there's no way to know if the people bidding against you are real or if StorageTreasures themselves are doing some shady stuff on the backend. And since they take a non-refundable 20% off your credit card, you're pretty much screwed.
I've been using this site for a while and it definitely feels like they purposely bait you with some low-ball units and then sucker you into buying something bigger with a bunch of hidden fees. And then you're stuck with the unit and all those extra charges. It's like they know what they're doing.
Overall, I'd say this site is a total rip-off. It might seem promising when you first start out, but after a few rounds of bidding, you realize it's all a facade. I don't know about you, but to me it feels like straight-up fraud. Stay away from StorageTreasures, my friend.
Terrible customer service & flawed fraudulent online auction process
The woman who answered the phone sounded like she was not a good fit to be on the phone handling inbound customer calls. She spoke with a condescending & smart [censored] tone constantly sighing when I would ask a question. She gave very limited responses to my simple questions and was quite unhelpful.
The problem is that delinquent tenants get on the site and bid up their own units, with no intentions to pay which right away goes against the terms & conditions set forth on their own website. Then the unit gets offered to the last bidder for their last bid amount and that bidder has 24 hours to buy the unit or it moves to the next bidder. If the delinquent tenant would not have bid the unit up thousands of dollars than I would have fairly and legally won the unit at auction for hundreds of dollars. See the delinquent tenants hope is that we the REAL BIDDERS will not pay for the units either and the unit goes back to auction giving the delinquent tenant more time to come up with the money to pay the backlog of monthly charges they owe.
Storage treasures is ok with this scandal that the delinquent tenants run, because it drives up the price making more money for them. Storage Treasures even admitted to having every bidders IP address (Unless of course you use a VPN like most people) yet they are not willing to take action to match the IP address to the tenants address and then block that bidder and Blacklist them from the site. The Storage Treasures customer service agent said there is no one to do this and they don't have time. " Hey lady it takes 2 seconds to do this and it should be a part of your job" In fact this should be YOUR only job and they need to take you off the phones as soon as yesterday. Stop being a cocky little snatch and either be a helpful customer service agent or get THE F*CK OFF the phones and find another job or position where you don't need to interact with people.
In the end I am trying to give both Storage Treasures and the local storage facility business which becomes a win win win.
If your a delinquent tenant reading this...Most people go through tough times now and then and especially financial difficulties, myself included. You need to realize that all your losing is STUFF...you cant take with you when you die. I have lost 5-7 10x30 storage units full of stuff from house fires, floods and theft. Oh well I don't care...you just get up and move on.
You will accumulate more STUFF so please don't bid unethically just cause your afraid of losing some acquired items. Only bid with money you actually have and if you have thousands of dollars to bid on storage units then you have enough money to just pay your debt to the storage facility so you wouldn't even be bidding in the first place.
Desired outcome: Changes obviously.....Read what I wrote and make the changes

service complaint
Talk to very rude overbearing rep. I believe the name is Rianna. She cancelled my auction and cost me $300. Talked to Art, her manager and he claimed he would address the issue. She lied and did not handle our issue accordingly. Art said he would call me back at 3pm but failed to do so. They allowed the bidder to not purchase the unit and walk away with no consequence. Today we called and Rianna hung up on us several times and blocked calls to Art. We have been doing business with this company for a long time and thnis type of service is unacceptable. Storage Treasures does not take accountability for their errors and makes no attempt to make a situation right they made wrong. I will be sure to tell everyone I know, both facilities and bidders not to do business with this company.
terrible
Highly recommend avoiding this freaking website. These guys are scammers and here's why: it absolutely doesn't matter whether you win or not, it doesn't matter that you were the best one and so on. Nothing matters. They can cancel an auction you won without warning you, without asking you. That's how they are. Only scammers act this ay, I am sure of that.
Please, be careful and don't give them your money.

I bought a unit today. No one bid against me and I actually won it for the opening bid $10. I drove to the facility, PAID for the unit and was let into it by facility staff.
I put my lock on it and went home as it was getting late.
an Hour after I got home I received a call from the facility telling me that there was an error in the listing, they were cancelling the sale and if I had removed anything from the unit I had to bring it back. I had already PAID. I called storage treasures and pretty much got the run-around for several hours, was told a supervisor would call me( never happened) and finally was told "were just a conduit your problem is with the facility" Well storage Treasures i've found out this is not an isolated incident and if you continue to let these unethical facilities to post sales on your site You are a big part of the problem
how do i take these guys to court i won a unit but never received a invoice but they (storage treasures) took $377 from my bank account
Storagetreasures.com has a Terms of Use and only enforce it against buyers. They will NOT enforce that Agreement when facilities breach the terms.
Because of this, you know they are an illegitimate company. They refuse to intervene, even if you join their "Pro" account.
I'll be doing several social media events and videos to help spread the word. Storagetreasures.com is a scam, pure and simple!
It would seem as a pretty straight forward argument in small claims court. It would seem they're relying on you not fighting for the win.
