So I decided to give it a try and get a trim from Supercuts since my regular hairstylist will be off for a week. The woman that cut my hair took a look at my hair and said “oh, Honey, when was the last time you HAD a haircut.” I told her about 6 weeks ago and she said “honestly, whoever cut your hair did a terrible job.” I should have trusted my gut instinct and walk out the door but I stayed. She grabbed her scissors and randomly cut straight across for a couple times then grabbed another section of my hair and started to cut “layers.” In less than 10 minutes, she was done. I mean I had long hair and wanted a trim. In 10 minutes, I had two layers of wet hair laying on top of each other and my hair was barely touching my shoulder when all I asked was a freaking trim. At the check out, she tried to sell me some hair “wet and dry” hair product from Paul Mitchell. Actually I was mad out of my mind and all I wanted to do is to get home and dry my hair so I could tie it into a ponytail. It was so bad that my co-worker told me how bad the haircut looks when I showed her. Way to go Supercuts! I am sure she was a much better pro than my regular hairstylist.
I guess I could have waited for another week. I did not think of not paying at the check out, really just wanted to get out of there. Now that I know I have the right not to pay for bad services, I will not pay for it next time. Hopefully there will not be the next time for anyone.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
At the checkout? If she screwed up your hair so badly, why did you pay? I would've filed a formal complaint instead. They have their licenses displayed (or should) so you can get their name and ID #.
Really, though, you couldn't wait one week?
I had the same exact thing happen to me.
My hairstylist retired though, so I went to Supercuts for a TRIM ONLY.
My hair was so jacked up, that the next hairdresser I went to had to cut it SHORT.
My hair was to my shoulders before the Supercuts visit, needless to say I looked like Dorothy Hamel after my hair was straightened out by the next hairdresser.
I DO NOT look good in short short hair!
I have since found out that most of the workers at this Supercuts store, are fresh out of Beauty College.
GO FIGURES!
I was their Guinea Pig!
They also tried to sell me UNNECESSARY Products, including a so called SPECIAL BRUSH. (HA!)
I complained and DID NOT pay, they threatened to call the police.
I told them to call the police, because what the did to my hair WAS A CRIME!
Of course they didn't call the police, so I left with my bad haircut.
I will NEVER go back and have told anyone and everyone about my experience.
The owners of this salon live in Calif. and most likely have NO IDEA what is going on there.
My hair is fabulous now and I love my hairdresser that I now use. :)
Note to everyone:
DO NOT PAY FOR BAD SERVICES!
Supercuts is both a franchise and a corporation and a few bad experiences shouldn't hinder others from visiting their local supercuts. I have had bad haircuts at many places, including Supercuts, but I do not hold it against every stylist or person employed within that company. Then again, you do get what you pay for, if you're cheap, you get the newbies!
I AGREE WITH HAPPY AS A CLAM...I AM A STYLIST AT SUPERCUTS AND I HAVE SEEN BAD STYLIST & GOOD STYLIST...I MEAN MY MOTHER IN LAW PAYED 45.00 DOLLARS FROM A HAIR DRESSER WHO HAS BEEN DOING HAIR FOR 25 YRS. IN A HIGH SOCIETY SALON AND SHE WASN'T HAPPY AT ALL I MEAN THIS LADY CUTS KATIE HOLES BROTHER HAIR SHE HAS CUT REGIS PHILBUNS HAIR TWICE...SO SOMETIMES WE JUST MAKE MISTAKES, NEEDLESS TO SAY MY MOTHER IN LAW DEMANDED HER MONEY BACK, AND THE STYLIST HAPPILY GAVE IT BACK TO HER AND THAT IS HOW ANY PROFESSIONAL SALON WEATHER IT'S A" 2.00 DOLLAR CUT OR A 45.00" CUT SHOULD DO NOT THREATEN TO CALL THE POLICE...SO YOU SHOULDN'T HOLD YOUR EXPERIENCE AGAINST ALL STYLIST...
I am a hairstylist at Supercuts here in Georgia. I have been doing hair for 6 years. However, I have had bad haircuts, not where I work but at a very pricey salon in Atlanta... My point is that in EVERY profession there are people who should have a different career, but for some reason they don't. Doctors, nurses, cops, secretaries...etc. No one is perfect. Not even your regular hairstylist. Im sure she has had people come back complaining about her every bit as mad as you were at supercuts. Im not saying you shouldn't be upset, but just because one person made a mistake doesn't mean the whole company should pay the price of losing customers because of you telling everyone how awful your experience was. How many people would you have told if it were exactly what you wanted...Not half as many I bet.
Well... it would appear that Supercuts is a nation-wide disaster.. I'm located in Chicago, and yesterday, a Supercuts 'butcher' hacked off more than three inches after I expressly told her not to cut off more than 1 1/2 to 2 inches TOPS. Now, my once long hair barely reaches my shoulders. I can just barely tie it back - which I really hate having to do (it looks awful and brings on headaches). My hair hasn't been this short since I was a child - and I've literally been in tears since it happened. I'm livid - and there's simply nothing I can do - other than post negative reviews wherever possible to warn other women to stay away from this chain. I realize a bad hair cut can happen anywhere, but it seems to happen on a far too regular basis at Supercuts. What a nightmare.
i will say this, i have work for supercuts for almost 8 years now and seen some people come and go ! I myself have have given a bad haircut (right when i got out of beauty school), But you have to remember hair dressers are only human ! Also if you think you can do our job i say go for it ! then come back and write here and say Supercuts Is horriable! You people dont understand that its not supercuts that gave you the bad haircut its the stylist ! you should have said the girl from supercuts gave me a bad haircut ! that way you could pin point the problem and get them help !
I recently went to supercuts in Sandy Springs GA to get a basic trim to get rid of my split ends. When I walked into the salon my hair was just above my bra strap. I had been trying for 2.5 yrs to grow out my hair because I had a short cut back then and wanted to wear my hair long again. When I sat down with the stylist I was very specific about what I wanted. I told her half inch max. She pulled my hair to the front and held it with the tip of her fingers and confirmed she understood me clearly. Then she started to cut and wouldn't stop until I very angrily told her to step away from my hair. By that point my hair was mid shoulder and severely jacked up. The left side was longer than the right, the left side had longer layers than the right and the left was cut at a different angle than the right. It look like a cut i would give myself. I couldn't even style my hair for work the next day. I had to pin it back in a bun and ever time I looked in the mirror I broke into tears. I had to schedule an emergency appointment with my stylist the next day to even my hair out. Luckily she was able to fit me in between appts. I measured my hair with a
tape measure and when all was said and done I lost about 3.5 inches of my hair. I will NEVER visit another Super cuts location ever again.
As for the stylegirlX's comment That each profession having people who are good and bad at their trade, that is true, however, I think that any trained professional stylist should be able to execute a basic trim. It's not like I went in looking for a new trendy cut. My experience was like going to a doctor who couldn't even draw blood. This particular stylist should not be allowed to practice.
