Mattress firm loan
In April I received a $1500.00 12 months zero interest credit card from mattress firm. SYNCHRONY
I paid 250.00 instead of the125 for 4 months and while on vacation the payment didn't go out on time and although I paid double payments for the first 4 monthly payments, they had the nerve to charge me 42.00 in late fees. I just paid off my account, but they are thieves, it's not the 42.00 it's the principle behind it, ZERO INTEREST SCAM, I will never or recommend Synchrony Bank.
Desired outcome: Return the funds you mislead me to take.
my mom death credit card department
my mom has been with their credit cards for years. the back called her asking if any think happened that their someone in her behalf to help her . that this would be in name only on the chart. they lied. the only one I'm having trouble with is his credit care. my mom died on Jan 28th 2022 i called them and told her she died they said to send a copy of the death certificate i did, they said you are not reasonable for any credit card debt. then i found out by assertion that they send all the accounts to them and did not tell them she died. assertion said you are not responsible for any. then in July, i get a call say i owe money on care credit and it was in my name and they sent me a credit card with my moms account number. that i can pay 71,00 a month. then they call three days later saying they settle for less. about 500.00 they took 71.00 out of my account i called on august 3 a guy said you owe nothing and its the billing mistake. i get the money back in 10 days. then i get a call from cathy saying this month's bill was late it did not go through. i explained again and she said we do not have a death department.and its up to any customer serice person to make it yes or no. she filed a complaint.
Desired outcome: what needs to happen the case is closed and i do not owe my mom a debt that they need to handle a death department and find out you put this in my name and charged me money and take the money out and give it back
Closed accounts
After years of having accounts with Synchrony they all of a sudden decided to close all the accounts without any cost. We have never had one late payment or a missed payment. My husband is a 100% disabled bed ridden veteran and we are in the middle of refinancing our home. Them closing the accounts cost a 110 point drop in our credit score. The mortgage company put the refinance on hold now. All this is because of synchrony closing our accounts without cause. Synchrony has ruined our credit. Class Action Law Suit to follow
Opened Synchrony account about year 1 1/2 ago. My complaint is with payment system that will not record current online payments in advance of due date. The portal continues to state a payment is due, 8/16. Frantically I thought my first payment of $120 did not process. Spending 30 minutes on the portal, then calling customer service. The message while waiting continued to say my minimum payment was due, in two days? I was ready to make a second payment, not seeing any history, or email that my payment from previous day of amount, date, was accepted, posted or in process with date and amount and balance. The site accepts payment with no receipt or update. Therefore customer is making two payments , unknowing if the first was accepted. Calling customer service was not helpful, as the phone system says the customer service person has no further information from the web portal or the automated system stating my payment was still due in two days. By law the merchant MUST provide a immediate receipt, a legal written notice of payment accepted, the date and amount. Synchrony won't do this for some nefarious reason. The site does not show Payment history, only Statements from previous period. customer has no accurate details of what is currently owed, as recent payments are not updated. If another payment is made, there is no reference of the most recent payment, so the system is displaying inaccurate information. A Bank MUST have accurate records, provide details when a payment is made as proof of legal compliance for the amount, and date, and balance update. I will never use this card again for failure to disclose accurate payment and balance details. This must be by design to create confusion, double payments. F- for failure to provide accurate accounting and payment proof.
Lowes deck
I have for years trying to get you to take control of Lowe's. I had Deck put on my home
Purchae Date 06/15/2017 Lowe's Lehighton Rte 443/Blakelsee Blvd 18235 Pa.
Account ending in 777 8
Complaint was filed when Grainger Construction was here, they took lumber, left 26 bags of concrete which are dried worthless. They took cut off ends. Grainger did not miter the ends of railings, and they did not nail the Fascia Board onto frame, it now warping and coming off. Grainger did concrete pour ontop of concrete pour is it safe I asked. Grainger was a very bad contractor. They stole from me, cost me, now I have Deck coming undone from 6x6 Columns splitting, Fascia coming off, mitering never done.
Lowe's came here and did Nothing. I called you said you would have them come. My wife called as she wanted to pay this off but said things better get done. No one contacted us by email, text or call. I went to Lowe's they laughed at me. I called you a month ago, no forms, no paperwork and guess what No Lowe's
I am forwarding a letter to you, the Pa Attorney General, Better Business Bureau, and Media. This dick is unsafe with Fascia coming off, Column splitting and again how is that concrete pillar?
I have been left with 26 bags of concrete, you charged me extra for concrete for Grainger. I have the 26 bagless concrete forms for you come take them. I want my Wood, my Beams, my cut off. I am paying for this and I do not have. I said come, look at material's then let's go over the list but You did not come, Lowe's did not care now they say they do not have to come the deck is not protected? So will I need a lawyer as I was not told this by You or Lowe's.
I am not happy. I am going to show my Insurance the letter(s) and that you ignore this matter but continue sending me a bill which I do not owe since materials are gone or worthless (concrete).
I am sending a check as I never got paperwork... but now this is going to be over. I will be filing Complaint with Pa Attorney General on so many levels esp bad workmanship, bad materials. I have filed complaint with you, written letter since September 2017 You have no excuse. I will expect a written response This is not funny and does not say much of you or Lowe's.
Desired outcome: Pa Attorney General will talk to us
TJMaxx Store Credit Card
I had a store credit card back in around 2019. My parents had passed away and I was in and out of jobs at that time. I could not afford the monthly fee or the charges for the card. I called and settled with synchrony in 2019 and even received a tax document showing that I settled with them, and they took a charge off. Well, they waited two years later to contact me and let me know that they somehow don't have any records of me paying that settlement amount agreed upon. I'm sorry I don't have any of the paperwork I had back them today, but I don't think it's right that wait to harass me two years later to tell me that you supposedly never got paid. Then when I tried to reach out to customer service all they said was "there was nothing they could do if they don't have it on record and that I owe that money" screw you. I'm not paying you a goddamn dime and you will take the account off my credit report ASAP, or I will get a lawyer involved.
Desired outcome: To take the charge off like you said you would and take the account off my credit report.
Closed 4 of my accounts, Intentionally ruining my credit Integrity!
I had 4 accounts through Synchrony Bank (1) Lowes (2) Care Credit (3) JC Penny (4) Rooms to Go.
In a Nutshell, I always pay my accounts on time and responsibly. I made a payment on $6,000 Lowes credit line. I paid the minimum payment roughly $280 and the next day my phone alert starts chirping because my Bank of America account just went into overdraft status. When I logged in to see what was happening I discover that my account was overdrawn by over $4,000.00 because Lowes took an unauthorized payoff on the charge account! So I Immediately called Lowes and said wait a minute, You cannot overdraw my account! I had 20 credit card payments about to go into NSF status and this would DESTROY my credit. Lowes tells me, We will mail you out a check, this would take 7 days. I told them that is not going to work as it will have caused me some serious damage to my credit. Lowes says that is all they can do. So I told them that I was calling my bank and stopping payment then. That is exactly what I did. The next day Synchrony in retaliation closed all 4 of my accounts. I filed a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and synchrony responded with basically we can do what we want to you. Well it is not over until the fat lady sings. She will be singing in the courtroom after Defamation Lawsuit is filed..
Desired outcome: My accounts fully reinstated and any derogatory information noted resulting from this cause to be removed.
Synchrony Closing Accounts in Good Standing
Synchrony is quite literally the definition of incompetent. Let me save you the trouble of reading complaint after complaint--they aren't worth your business. I'm a single individual ever-growing population that will never do business with Synchrony again (and I really don't need--I don't carry balances and don't buy things I can't outright afford).
Recently, I had the following accounts with Synchrony that were accrued over a span of about 8 years:
Amazon --$10,000 Limit
Sam's Club-- $10,000 Limit
Sam's Club --Mastercard $2500 Limit
Venmo Signature Visa --$20,000 Limit
Walgreens Mastercard --$2500 Limit
PayPal Mastercard --$8800 Limit
Discount Tire --$6000 Limit
About me:
-Credit scores 740+ for each of the big 3 bureaus
-No Missed Payments / Derogatory items
-No revolving balances
-100K+ of verifiable income
All accounts saw at least monthly use (with the exception of the Discount Tire card as I don't need tires on a regular basis). All accounts (like the rest of my credit card accounts) were paid in full every month. I had just purchased two monitors during Amazon Prime Day which I accidentally put on the Store Card instead of my Chase Card. So there was a $700 balance on that card awaiting to be paid off the following week.
Logged in during the later days of July 2022 to find all of my Synchrony accounts closed (except for my $20,000 limit Venmo Visa Signature). I called them to ask what happened, and they said it was just effectively a business decision. As soon as I got off the phone, I went and canceled my Venmo Card. They want to play that game, they just lost a lifetime of busines from me (my fiancée actually did follow suit with cancellations).
When I received the letters in the mail (yesterday, August 5th of 2022) for the account closures, all (except the one I closed on my own) stated the following:
"Activity on account(s) with Synchrony Bank indicative of High Risk of Failure to Pay"
I literally pissed my pants laughing. Now, while these closures actually 'increased' my scores by about 11 points (due to the age of the cards relative to the age of other accounts on my credit profile--paired with the fact that I don't carry balances so there was no hit on my credit utilization), other people that may not have enough credit outside of Synchrony could have been hit hard.
Additionally, had I been on a trip and only decided to carry a couple of cards and my Driver's License (as I normally do) could have left me in a lurch had I chosen cards like the Paypal or Venmo. That wasn't the case either.
Regardless of the overall impact on these closures to me, it Synchrony Bank is an absolutely incompetent institution (they had actually given me $20K worth of credit limit increases just days before the account closures). They seem to have a pattern of closing accounts--even the ones in good standing.
My suspicion is that they weren't making money off of me other than transaction fees as I was not paying interest. They had also, over the span of 8 years, given me a lot of overall credit limit/exposure. It was either the fact that they were not making money, or my overall exposure climbing so high, that made them close the account. However, the exposure thing was in their control the entire time (maybe don't increase my credit limit, you real-life, actual [censored]s).
If you are someone who lives beyond your means and you constantly pay interest, Synchrony is waiting for you with open arms. If you are responsible with your money, the transaction fees you generate for Synchrony aren't worth their time or energy. On top of that, they could care less about their history with you or what account closures might do to your scores due to your average age of account and utilization factors being toyed with. They top all of that off by not warning you, and by being unable to communicate with you the real reasons for the closures--insulting you with "high risk of failure to pay" when you are quite obviously the opposite.
High risk of failure to pay? More like high risk of failure to pay you interest, and now high-risk (certain risk) of never doing business with you again, along with my fiancée and the multitude of others you've screwed over.
I'm not stupid enough to threaten legal action, because you are well within rights to close accounts for just about any reason and it would be hard to demonstrate any injury from this (it actually helped my already stellar credit). However, you are a very slimy, cowardly, incompetent institution. I hope you get what you deserve someday and get investigated or fined into oblivion.
Desired outcome: Change your business model and practices. Find people who can mitigate risk and ensure profits sans ending relationships with responsible, well-established customers.
Y’all closed my active account that never missed a payment
My account was closed because the extra payments I was trying to send y’all were rejecting them for some reason it wasn’t even my normal payments they go through just fine. I have never been late paying my account ever ! I was on autopay. I just wanted to pay extra and the larger payment would not be accepted! This is not my fault Now my credit will suffer for something that’s not my fault . Never ever been behind on my payments at all.
Desired outcome: Reopen my account back so that my credit don’t suffer
Synchrony Bank Card
I had previously had a BP Card with Synchrony. It was bought out by First National Bank. Since I use my bank's autopay for my payments, the last payment, made on June 30, went to Synchrony instead of First National. I called First National to let them know and they said that Synchrony would forward that to them, since they no longer had an account to apply it to. I can't find anyone that knows why that money has not yet been forwarded to First National Bank. It haas been over a month and I would like to know where my money was applied.
My account number with Synchrony was [protected]. The amount of the June 30th payment was $4331.19.
Thank you inadvance with any help you can give me on this issue.
Sandy Mecimore
Desired outcome: To have payment forwarded to First National Bank.
Customer service - phone/chat/mail and general approach
About a month ago I asked for a credit line increase (when I opened the account in 2017 they allowed me $5000 line of credit. I don't use this card much (especially during COVID), and when I checked recently my credit line was decreased to $1200.
I have an exceptional credit score (according to FICO) and I always pay all my balances on time.
My request for an increase was done partially, and for that time, it was enough.
Due to some additional expenses, a week ago I asked for an additional increase and was denied. Since then, I'm trying to find out why I was denied, and all I get is that I need to wait for the letter to arrive in snail mail (7 to 10 business days).
I called customer service and they said they don't have that information. They suggested I write a mail. I did and didn't receive the answer I was looking for. Then I tried to contact them via chat, and that was torture. They have many issues with their website and chat connectivity. The chat disconnects in the middle and some of my messages do not make it through.
It doesn't look like they care much about their customers and customer preservation. I'm seriously thinking of ditching them.
Desired outcome: I just want to understand what can I do to increase my line of credit.
Account Closed - Unacceptable
My Synchrony CC with Pep Boys was closed 7/30/2022. I've never made a late payment on this account or any others.
The explanation letter provided stated my credit worthiness did not meet the characteristics of their desired criteria. This seems to be discriminatory - considering I have no late payments on any accounts.
Additionally, my credit worthiness (score) was similar to my score during the approval of this CC in 2019.
It seems with the current economic climate; Synchrony Bank is using this period as a time to tighten their ability to extend credit to any borrowers who they deem "risky".
However, this should be a tactic used for "new applicants" - not existing card holders who have spent years to build history.
This is unacceptable and further legal action will be pursued.
Desired outcome: RE-OPEN MY ACCOUNT. LEGAL ACTION AGAINST CREDITOR
on line payments
7/28;2002; i was trying to pay my account through your automated systm. I supplied the infrmaton askked for. automated system got so confused, I Icannot remember all that was.said. The last thing I remember was suppying her with my bank card; which was a visa card. She asked if i wanted the refernce number ([protected]) and she gave it to me and thanked me for using my Mastercard credit card. Someby is confused and it is not me, I gave her my Visa bank card to make payment.
Hard Time making this payment using your online system. Took me about 30 minutes. Not the first time I have ttouble.

Refund on a purchase
My mother purchased hearing aids from a small company who offered financing through Care credit/synchrony bank - we returned the aids and were advised by the vendor that a refund had been processed through Synchrony
Numerous calls to the bank were met with " no refund has been submitted" even though we had the vendors emails to show they had requested the refund.
I'm not dealing with Synchrony bank anymore, after wasting time on the phone with their BS. I am filing a complaint with the CFPB and demanding action. If Synchrony does not resolve the matter, I will have my attorney handle
Ignorant reps, deceptive practices - don't deal
Desired outcome: Refund of our original payment
Musicians friend account
Your online payment system is the worst I've ever dealt with of ANY COMPANY. It takes a ridiculous number of times to try to get in. It says I need to accept cookies but does not give an accept all cookies box like other sites do.
I finally got in to make a payment on 7/25 when it was due and made the payment, but today I got a message saying it was still due. This is not my fault!
This website has been messed up for over a year and needs a serious overhaul.
It doesn't even recognize my password now that I've been using or at least a couple of years
So I'm asking that you remove any late charge on this last payment that I finally had to make on the phone.
And please fix that website and put an accept all cookie check box on the page - even though I lowered the settings on my internet once and it still didn't work
Harold L Fitzpatrick Musicians Friend card# [protected]
Desired outcome: Fix the online payment website and remove any late charge for my last transaction.
inaccurate and fraudulent report to credit agencies
Accounts that where charged off 2016 and 2017 with this financial institution, are still being reported fraudulently with all three major credit bureaus as well have been sold to debt collectors after 1099c was issued for each debt. I have went through the trouble of calling and speaking with many different customer service agents over the past year with no result. I have requested on four separate occasions for the 1099c to be furnished as I was never sent them originally when the debt was charged off.
If (Company Name) has filled out a 1099c form and is continuing any kind of collection activity as defined under 31 U.S. Code § 3711(e) by performing any of the following conduct; administrative offset, tax refund offset, referral to private collection contractors, referral to agencies operating a debt collection center, reporting delinquencies to the credit reporting agencies, garnishing wages, pursuing litigation or foreclosure, you are committing tax fraud and should be reported to the IRS for a fraudulent financial gain.
I am aware that a 1099-C must be mailed to consumers by January 31st the following calendar year in which the identifiable event occurs. I did not receive anything which is a violation. If your company has mailed me a 1099-C, please provide documentary evidence, such as a tracking number, that proves I in fact received and was aware of a 1099-C.
Desired outcome: For the inaccurate negative information to be deleted from my credit report immediately and all collection attempts discontinued.
Kasa Roofing & Construction
Disputing total amount $7529.00 -
However we have spoken to a few contractors that can repair the hills and valleys that have been made by the crew of Kasa Roofing and Construction when the 850 of sod laid in my front yard was not leveled.
We have also found a contractor that can repair the 30 foot portion of the rockwall that Kasa Roofing and Construction crew did not resurface.
We'd like to refile a dispute amount of $5000.00.
We hope Mr. Arturo Alderte, owner of Kasa Roofing and Construction will agree to the repair cost and the disputed amount refiled.
Desired outcome: Agree to the refiled disputed amount with Honor and Respect.
Synchrony did not issue credits/refunds from merchants
I had a Banana republic Visa card which was through Synchrony. I was notified that the Banana republic card would be issuing a new card under a different bank (Barclays).
During this transition period, I had returned merchandise purchased on the Synchrony banana republic Visa. The refunds issued to me were not showing in my account. I called Barclays asking why the refunds were not showing on my account. They responded it was my responsibility to work with the merchant to apply the refunds to the new Barclays card. The merchants responded that the refunds were issued and were no longer with them and suggested that I follow up with the original Bank for the credit card. However, the Synchrony phone number is no longer in service. Fortunately, I was able to work with some of the merchants and receive my refunds to the new card. Other merchants advised the funds were already issued to the Synchrony card. Refunds outstanding below:
June 14, 2022 Punchbowl ($47.88)
June 22, 2022 Cyclebar ($15.00)
July 14, 2022 Christy Dawn ($287.77)
July 15, 2022 RVCA (39.33)
Desired outcome: Receive the refunds issued from the merchants to the new Barclays banana republic Mastercard.
Closed my account.
My synchrony account was set up on auto pay from my bill payer account. My account was debited twice by verizon causing the synchrony payment to return. I immediately recovered the payment the next day, I wasn't even assessed a late fee because I made sure it was paid the next day. I received an alert from my credit monitoring service that my account was closed. I called them and asked why they said because my payment returned. I said but I paid it before being assessed a late fee. They said it's their policy. I've had this card over 12 years and it never happened before. This is crazy.
Desired outcome: Reopen my account
Credit Service
Synchrony just closed all my account. My 700 credit score tanked to 580. I have never missed a payment and recently had all these balances low or paid off. I am not sure why they did this. Are they going bankrupt?
Credit cards
Please stay away from this bank and save yourself the trauma. I have numerous cards with them since 2015. Most of all my card limits are in the 10's of thousands being my Lowes with the highest of 30k. They shut all my cards down such as Lowes, Care Credit, Discount Tire, Rooms to Go, Home and Ebay Mastercard. My household income is over 100k and will not give exact amount. I have numerous other cards and never get treated the way this bank treats it customers. Only amounts i owe to Synchrony was about 4k with about 80k in total credit with them and was about to pay this off in lump sum. I asked for a credit line increase which the automated system granted then their Data from Star Trek employess placed me in high risk and shut down all my cards. Obviously I wasnt high risk the computer gave it to me. Obviously i wasnt high risk when Citibank increased my Home Depot card from 3500 to 22500. But according to Synch executive it wasn't due to my credit report or my payment history. They could have decreased my credit or not even given me an increase rather than shut it all down which i have never since i had them every charged up the max limit with them on any card and never came close. If they have done the same to you contact these store brand card's CEOs and inform them of why you are no longer going to do business with them as this bank has shut your cards down and the thousands they will lose in business because of their choice to use this bank to represent them. Synchrony counts on you to be silent so they can do business as usual. I do spend thousands with Lowes and Discount Tire and now Home Depot and Amazon will get the majority of my business because of this.
Desired outcome: They made the mistake of screwing over the wrong person. Reopen my accounts
