My elderly father loves reading the newspaper. Constant billing issues. They call him and tell him that he owes money when he has sent in his check. He ends up paying by credit card but he does not get credit for this payment. Now they are telling him he owes more money. I have pulled all his check stubs and he has paid every month for the last YEAR plus the additional times he has paid by credit card. In reality he has overpaid them. Don't know who to talk to about this issue as customer service is very lacking. Is there billing department idiots? So, who to contact Beryl L, editor, Gannett or the news station? It is a crime for a company to be scamming an elderly man out of his money. Shame on them.

Gannett newspaper has continued to double-bill my mother for her one subscription to the Cincinnati Enquirer since November,2020. I have made numerous calls to Gannett to get the issue resolved. I have had to change her credit card number 3 different times to no avail. I have talked to Gannett supervisors who see the mistake, tell me they will give her a credit and resolve the issue WITH NO RETURN PHONE CALLS AND DOUBLE BILLING CONTINUING. I have spent hours talking with Gannett personel and finally found out that 3 different accounts were in her name because they did not delete her old account when she renewed at a different rate. I have tried to cancel the billing by canceling her subscription entirely in April, she was billed in May, and as of early June she was billed a new charge of $64. I keep getting provisional credits when I dispute the charges with the credit card company, only to have Gannett reinstate the charges at a higher rate. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! THEY STILL OWE MY 97 year-old mother FOR THE OVERBILLING!
This is second time that i did not get a Sunday paper, but my neighbors did. I called the 800 number and was promised a paper, but as of 3:15, no paper. So I called the 800 number again and the robot said they are closed , call tomorrow. It used to be that they had a time for the paper to be delivered stated in the newspaper (that is no longer there)
Continuous delivery & billing issues, at least 3-4+ times per month
Continuous delivery & billing issues, at least 3-4+ times per month. 30 year subscriber. Ridiculous and frustrating customer service, no one gives you the same amount or the same story. Absolutely would cancel our subscription but Husband likes paper in hand. I have no time for them and would not recommend them to anyone else.
Got a letter saying I would be getting every month Premium editions that would "enhance my subscription", and that I would be billed for them every month. Called customer service and was told I had no option other than to call them every month and cancel that month. No option to permanently opt out of something I did not subscribe to or want. This is highway robbery as they know people will not call every month. I have no issue with them enrolling me (even if not asked) as long as they notify me (which they did do) but give me the option to opt out. Telling me how lucky I am to get this unwanted subscription at an extra charge with no opportunity to permanently opt out is both unethical and bordering on extortion to a degree.
I fully agree with Ken R. who stated: "Got a letter saying I would be getting every month Premium editions that would "enhance my subscription", and that I would be billed for them every month. I have been a customer for 20+ years
I have been a customer for 20+ years. I cancelled the paper at the end of 2019. All of a sudden at the beginning of March, they put a charge on my credit card for the next 2 years. I have called multiple times, every time they tell me I should be getting a refund in 10 days to 2 weeks. 2 weeks comes and goes and I call back. Only to be told another they will issue a refund in 10 days to 2 weeks. I just wonder how a company like this has an A+ rating with the Complaintsboard.com.

One star is too many!
One star is too many! Home delivery issues have been constant for yours and when the paper doesn't come, I am refunded pennies even though they have raised my rates to $45! for weekend only papers - now they are even charging me $5 for my BILL ! without notifying me first (a letter came AFTER the increased bill). I have made multiple calls to customer service with no satisfaction but HOURS holding. On July 26, I told the *** I was cancelling my subscription after 30 years and she offered to lower my rate to $21 for one year starting immediately so I said OK and immediately sent a check for $21.They cashed my $21 check, cancelled my delivery for non-payment, and sent another bill for $45.

I got a letter from the Enquirer saying my monthly subscription is going up Sept 14 to $37.95 for print and digital. They charged my *** card $42.95. I went to their chat room and I was told the cost of running a newspaper is going up. They missed the point. They also said my $42.95 was only good until October 2. This is not the first run I have had with them. A few years ago they told me I was not paying my bill. Check had been cashed. They suspended my delivery. I was told it takes a while for a payment to catch up with their customer files. Also told I need to pay my bill on online to avoid this in the future. Unreal. No stars for them. I know papers are struggling, but this kind of service just causes more pain for them.

I was reading the reviews as I help my Mother who is has received the Newspaper since the beginning of time. Everything the previous submitters stated, has been her experience as well. In recent months. the Enquirer has stooped even lower than before. Now to add insult to injury, she is getting charged a $5.00 paper statement fee MONTHLY on top of the other ridiculous items they foist upon her, like the Premium Edition charges. If it's raining, her paper is soaking wet and I have to lay it out for her so she can hopefully read it the next day. She is 96 and unable to manage an online account and payment system - so she's stuck with the new Paper Fees. Does it really cost $5.00 a month for a Paper Statement? If so, the Enquirer has incredibly serious issues that it costs this much to produce a statement for a customer. Also, the Due Date is "Due Upon Receipt" which is meaningless when the *** is having issues, etc. The Enquirer has repeatedly cut her off and left messages about her tardy payments - even AFTER THEY HAVE RECEIVED AND PROCESSED PAYMENTS. Like everyone said, billing issues, poor service and deteriorating offerings. The paper is literally paper thin - a handful of pages most days. All in all, it's been a terrible way to treat a lifelong customer. The $5.00/month fee is ridiculous for those who have no options to get online - she doesn't know what it even means to be online. C'mon Enquirer. Seriously?

Delivery
My paper was not delivered for the entire month of December, 2022. My payment was automatically deducted from my checking account. When i subscribed no one told me that payments were non-refundable and that I could receive only a credit if a problem arose. i have been calling every few weeks since February and always speak with a different representative...

On my February bill for The Cincinnati Enquirer, I noticed two additional charges. When I called them, I was connected to a company rep, a woman with an Asian accent, whose name I do not remember. She told me that they would remove those additional charges. I then complained about the $70.35 price of the subscription. She told me that my new rate would be $41.35 starting next month. She said that the prorated cost for me this month would be $41.70. When I received my March bill, it stated that I owed the full amount from my February bill minus the $41.70 that I paid. The current charges of $70.35 for the subscription plus one of the charges that was supposedly dropped last month bringing the total to $108.53. I called to complain. They told me that they had no record of my new subscription rate. They told me that I would have to pay the amount of the bill or it would be referred to collections. They should cancel this debt.

12/30 - Spoke with Customer Service Rep at The Enquirer to find out when my current rate expired. I currently pay $16 per month for the daily paper delivered plus $5.00 per month for a Paper Statement Fee. I was told by the Customer Service Rep that the $16 rate expired on January 31, 2022. 1/24/2022 - I received an invoice totaling $43.00 from The Enquirer for service provided 1/1/2022-1/31/2022. I chatted with an online agent who informed me that my rate went up on January 1, 2022. I told the agent of my call with the CSR on 12/30 AND that the Enquirer website still listed my monthly rate at $16.00. I was told that was wrong and I owed $43.00. Attached is a copy of the chat with the agent on 1/24/2022 as well as a screen print of my account on 1/24/2022 showing my current rate at $16.00.

In late June , I received several notices that my account was overdrawn. Upon investigation I found that since 2017, the GAN-Gannettohmediacirc; had made monthly withdrawals from my checking account. When I inquired through a phone call to the company, I was told that there was no record of any services to me. I was given an address to send my information to. I mailed all of the documentation with a return receipt to: ***. I received a signed receipt on December 20. It was signed by ***. Trying to give the company time to review their files, I waited until late January to do a follow up call. Once again I was told there was no record of my receiving service and that they would look into it. As of today APRIL 15, I have not been contacted. My bank statements showed that the company received $1,337.00, and they admit that I did not receive services from the Cincinnati Enquirer!

Paper stopped as of sept 21
Paper stopped as of sept 21. I have called 3 times and they claim I haven't paid my bill. Have received paper for 33 yrs at this address with no problem until now. Service for.august paid by check sent sept 9, it cleared my bank sept 20 and CSR said it didnt show there until 22nd. Regardless, I have always been billed AFTER a month of service, which means I was up to date with that payment. Yesterday I received a bill for $67.44 balance due. Again, I have not received any paper since 9/20 and do NOT understand this charge. I asked the last CRS rep I spoke with if the Enquirer has changed method of billing, to which the answer was I was delinquent with my payment. I read her dates of last 4 Bill's and check numbers and amounts that were paid. There obviously has not been resolution to this problem and I am NOT paying a bill, until they correct their mistake. (WOULD YOU PAY A BILL THAT JUST SAYS AMOUNT DUE WITHOUT EXPLANATION OF WHAT TIME PERIOD IT IS SUPPOSEDLY FOR?)

Will not deliver the newspaper have called over 50 times and in the last 2 weeks spoke to 2 live folks overseas and with no help.
I have attempted to resolve delivery issues related to my Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper. Over the last 12 months my newspaper has not be delivered or delivered to the wrong address at least 20 times. Each time I call customer service they assure me that the situation would be corrected (I think I've called them at least 4-5 times and talked with a representative at least 2-3 times). I also sent two emails to Chris C., Distribution Director, Cincinnati Enquirer informing him of the issue and asking him to resolve it. One was sent October 12th to which he did not respond and another was sent today. I know the newspaper is being delivered on my street because my neighbors are receiving theirs. All I want is for my newspaper to be delivered to the correct address every morning. Thanks.
on the 6th of Dec a representative from the company agreed to credit my account 50 dollars if I would agree to paying 24 dollars on a disputed bill. He said if I would agree to autopay, he would reinstate my account for a discounted rate of 16 dollars a month. I agreed to have the 24 dollars and 16 dollars EFTed from my account and give him my bank info. On the 14th they drafted 30 dollars, and, on the 15th, they drafted another 104 dollars. They have basically stolen this money as I only agreed to have 40 dollars withdrawn. He even stated that amount. I called the billing department on the 15th after seeing this. She said she would credit my account back and give me a 14 dollar a month rate. There has been no credit back AND I still didnt get a paper today. They are liars and thieves.

I subscribe to The Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper for 7-day a week home delivery and pay the rate of $792 + per year, subject to increase, for this service. Our prior delivery person is no longer handling the account and the NEW carrier has failed to deliver the paper THREE times in the last 19 days [15+%of the time]. I have called the Customer Service Help Line on each occasion [Philippines based], have been promised re-delivery of the missing papers each time, but ZERO on this promise. The Enquirer has removed the phone numbers of any person associated with the paper from its web site, so short of an in-person visit to the lobby of their building in downtown Cinti there is no way to speak with any actual person in Cincinnati who might field this complaint. So I am left with no recourse. Other than to cancel my subscription, which is what some golf-obsessed executive really wants to happen, to cut costs. We lose the press, we lose civilized society. PLEASE HELP ME !

We recently had to move my 86 year old mother into our home
We recently had to move my 86 year old mother into our home. My father passed away 10 years ago and they have been getting the Cincinnati Enquirer delivered to there home for more than 40 years. We called the Enquirer when she moved in on May 13 to change the delivery address. We explained that we live at the end of a shared driveway and we asked if the delivery person could come down the driveway and deliver the paper to our house. We have a large area where the person could turn around with no issues. We were told this would not be a problem. The paper was delivered the next day, but at the top of the driveway. My husband called the next day and was again told they would let the delivery person know. This went on for 7 to 10 days with my husband calling every day. I called around May 27 and was told they saw all the comments and would contact the delivery person and that I would get a call from the district manager. Nothing changed and no call from the district manager.

I have been a subscriber of the Cincinnati Enquirer for over 20 years
I have been a subscriber of the Cincinnati Enquirer for over 20 years. Over the years, they have manipulated the price and charged my credit card for charges that I did not authorize, so I resorted many years ago to prepay my account in full for a year of Sunday papers. This year when I received the bill, there were additional charges on my bill for "SPECIAL ADDITION" papers to the tune of 6.00 per month. I called the Enquirer and told them I did not want these SPECIAL ADDITION papers, and after multiple times of being told they were MANDATORY, someone waived the 6.00 (72.00 annually) At that time, in April, they also suspended the delivery of my paper. On April 26th, I mailed them a check in the amount of $96.92 to prepay in advance for Sunday delivery of my paper. They cashed my check. I have not received a paper from them since April. After months of no paper, I've requested a refund. They refunded $21.93 of the $96.92 and are not responding to where is the remaining 74.99.

On Monday, September 13 it became apparent to me that my subscription to the Cincinnati Enquirer had been terminated
On Monday, September 13 it became apparent to me that my subscription to the Cincinnati Enquirer had been terminated. I looked at my account online and discovered that an old billing address (***, *, ***) was listed. I had previously advised the Enquirer by telephone (three times) and online (two times) of my new billing address (***, ***). The Enquirer has reverted to mailing my monthly invoice to an old address. In an attempt to resolve this, I emailed the Enquirer four times (Monday, September 13; Tuesday, September 14; Wednesday, September 15 and Thursday, September 16) requesting that a bill be sent to the correct address and to re-active the account until such a time that I receive a bill and can mail a check in. I pay my bills in a timely manner and the Enquirer has a record of that going back two+ years. This subscription includes delivery of the Sunday paper to ***.

I had an annual subscription to the Cincinnati Enquirer/Cincinnati.com that was auto-renewed for $113.04 on July 14
I had an annual subscription to the Cincinnati Enquirer/Cincinnati.com that was auto-renewed for $113.04 on July 14. The subscription included the Sunday paper plus access to subscriber-only content on Cincinnati.com. When I saw the charge on my credit card, I called within a week of the charge to cancel the subscription. I was told that a refund would be credited to my card. After that date, I did not receive any deliveries of the Sunday paper, and was not able to access the subscriber-only information on Cincinnati.com, so my cancellation request was clearly honored. I have yet to receive the refund. I have called Customer Service 6 times since then. The first four times, I was assured that the refund would be made within 48 hours. The last two times -- on 11/6 and 11/14, I was told that someone from their Finance department would call me within 24-48 hours. I did not receive any calls. I am simply asking for a refund for the canceled subscription. Note: After I canceled the subscription, I kept getting offers for digital access for $1 for six months. On 8/23, I accepted that offer and my credit card was charged $1. This is further evidence that my digital access had previously been canceled and that I did not have access to subscriber-only information at that time.

I called the Cincinnati Enquirer to cancel my online subscription in February
I called the Cincinnati Enquirer to cancel my online subscription in February. I was told that I would be given a special rate of .99 if I continued my subscription. I agreed to this rate and continued my subscription. Then I noticed last month that I had been charged 7.99 for May, June, July, August, and September, when I had not agreed to this. I called in late September to ask to be refunded the difference between the 7.99 and the .99 I was charged each month for this. I was assured this was going to be refunded back to me but the only thing that was refunded to me was 7.99. I called a couple more times and they told me a supervisor would call me back but this never happened. I called again on October 29th and was told that they would not reimburse me any more charges. I spend over 2 hours on the phone with them to be lied to in the end and not be refunded the money they agreed to. Im only asking for the $27 left that I was originally suppose to be refunded back to me that never was. This is fraud to increase someones subscription rate without notifying them. The supervisors I spoke to today were named Alex and Francis and did not give me more information. If I am not refunded I am going to file complaints with the FTC, Better Business Burea, and also take legal action. I can be reached via phone number at if you would to attempt to call me before I take additional action.

Last year, my Sunday only subscription expired on 9/30
Last year, my Sunday only subscription expired on 9/30. I kept waiting for a bill for the next year, but when it finally came on October 21st, the price was $90.92, which was way over what the Enquirer had been advertising. On 10/21, I spoke on the phone to Nadine, a supv. She agreed to reduce the amount by $26.26, making the final price $64.66 for the Sunday paper for the next year expiring 9/30. She put it on my credit card that day. Then in April , I received a bill for $79.39. I talked to Camallia on 4/22 at 10:40 AM and she said that Nadine did not take off the $26.26. Also at that time, she had applied my payment to an enrollment for a 6 month subscription, not a year. Camallia said that she would put in for a correction and that I would receive a phone call or letter when it was resolved. I never received anything, so on 5/1 at 11:20 AM, I talked to Lily. She assured me that it was resolved and that I was paid up until 9/30. Then in May , I received a bill for $53.39. I talked to Kim on 5/20 at 2:30 PM and asked for a supv. Kim said that the supv. was on another call and would call me back shortly. No one called me, so at 4 PM, I called back and talked to Mark. He said that a supv. would call me back. No one called me, so on 5/21 at 2:45 PM, I called back and talked to David. He said that he would straighten it out. He said that I was paid up until 9/30 and that I would not receive another bill until close to that date when my subscription would expire. I didn't receive any more bills, so I thought he really had corrected my account. I've been expecting to receive a bill for the next year covering 10/1 to 9/30. Instead, yesterday I received a bill stating that I still owe $31.89 from last year, so apparently no one has ever completely straightened out this billing mess.

Seriously?
I have been a customer 7 days a week for 35 years. Your garbage delivery is unacceptable. You wouldnt deliver if I didnt pay. You are a thief with my money
