The people at the management office are nice, but they don't seem to know what they're doing
The people at the management office are nice, but they don't seem to know what they're doing. They didn't let me know in time that my lease was ending, and when I called to ask about it, they told me it was too late and that I have to pay for an extra month. Other places usually leave letters on your door or send you an email to remind you. It's really hard to get in touch with the corporate office during normal business hours. Inland seems a bit shady. I would recommend looking for somewhere else to live.
I rented their advertised place in April '21
I rented their advertised place in April '21. Once I handed over $2500, they went silent on me. No contact whatsoever for more than 6 weeks, from late September to mid-November. I left them multiple voicemails and emails, but got no reply. I was supposed to move in sometime in November, but they didn't get back to me until halfway through the month. They still haven't refunded any of my money. This isn't a company you should do business with.
Parking is a big problem here
Parking is a big problem here. Cars just take up spots and never go anywhere. They say they don't need handicap spots because they're old. So as a disabled veteran who pays *** a month to live here, I don't get parking either. Instead, cars without license plates, no parking stickers, and cars that never move get all the good spots. I have to walk through all the dog s*** to get to my car or door. I guess I could park on the other side of the building and use the handicap spot, but then I'd have to walk up 2 flights of stairs.
This company is terrible, I'm telling you!
This company is terrible, I'm telling you! Stay away! They promise to hold onto your money for 5 to 8 years, but guess what? It's been almost 20 years and they still have most of it. They've even spun off a bunch of it into other companies, and us poor investors (like me!) can't even get a statement from them! These investments are all illiquid, meaning you can't easily cash out. You either have to wait for a liquidity event that Inland brings (which has been 17 years and counting!) or sell for just a few pennies to some third party trying to take advantage of us poor souls stuck in the Inland scam. These folks are dishonest and don't tell the truth! Do yourself a favor and save yourself from a lot of heartaches. Take your money elsewhere.
I'm giving this place a 1 star rating because there's no option for 0
I'm giving this place a 1 star rating because there's no option for 0. I've been going back and forth with them after they let me stay in not one, but 2 apartments at Somerset in *** that were full of black mold. My kids' stuff was growing mold and we've been dealing with medical issues from living in these really unsafe apartments. The property management told me they've never had a problem like this before and that they would fix it. But then they sent me an email saying they tested the apartments and found nothing harmful. That's a lie because I have the results and it's been declared unlivable with lots of toxic mold like Stachybotrys, Aspergillus, and other cancer-causing stuff.
Inland is well-known for not giving back security deposits, and they also do other sneaky business stuff
Inland is well-known for not giving back security deposits, and they also do other sneaky business stuff. When my lease was done, I needed a few extra days because the place I was moving to wasn't ready yet. I had to extend my lease for a whole month, and they charged me a crazy high price for it. I still had weeks left on the extension agreement when I moved out, so I left behind cleaning stuff and my vacuum cleaner. I planned to clean the apartment really well before giving back the keys, way before the lease extension was over. But when I came back to clean, weeks before the extension was done, they had already come in and cleaned it themselves. And then they charged me a ridiculous amount and used that as an excuse to not give back my security deposit.
I live in this bad apartment complex
I live in this bad apartment complex. We've been here for only 3 months, but it feels like 3 years of wasted money! Our problems started with this low-quality apartment that costs 3 times more than our previous house. We've already made 8 maintenance requests in just 3 months. The first request was on the second day when our AC completely shut off, and we had to call emergency maintenance. The crew is terrible, they're dirty and disrespectful to our property when they come to "fix" things. It feels like they just put a band-aid on the problems because we still have multiple issues labeled as completed and "fixed". We pay $20 for valet trash, but it's not picked up until 7:45pm or 8pm, even though it's supposed to be left out by 5pm. It's disgusting to have smelly garbage in the hallways for so long. The AC on our floor never works, and the hallway is like a sauna. The neighbors on our floor are nice, but the ones below us, especially the newest tenant, are disrespectful. They bang on our door at 9pm to complain about noise, even though it's just me, my husband, and our 4-year-old child. The floors are thin, so any noise easily travels to the units below. For the past 2 weeks, we've had neighbors running and making so much noise that the floor shakes. I understand living in an apartment complex comes with some noise, but there should be a level of respect at certain times. The latest incident was at 11:30pm on a Monday night! The biggest issue is the leasing staff, especially the property manager. She is unprofessional, disrespectful, rude, and pitiful. It's disappointing that she represents this complex. I've been ignored and lied to multiple times. The way this office is run is shocking, and it seems like they're dishonest. I've been trying to contact a supervisor, but they're just as unreachable. I want to leave this terrible complex, but it would cost me $3000 to break my lease. The only positive experience has been with one staff member who has been attentive and understanding. This complex doesn't care about the COVID pandemic, they only care about rent and applying late fees. They claim to have payment plans, but they don't make sense. They take the total amount, including late fees, and spread it out over the month, demanding payment by the end or eviction in 30 days. This complex is terrible! Please, I beg you, don't move here! You'll regret it from day one!

We applied to your property in August
We applied to your property in August. I've emailed multiple times requesting the return of our security deposit, but haven't received any response. We went to the property office and they informed us that the property has been sold to another company, and the new company is not responsible for refunding our security deposit. Could you please give us our money back? Property: [Property Name] Unit: [Unit Number] Name: [Your Name]
My complaint is about Inland Real Estate Group, specifically The Bend at a certain location
My complaint is about Inland Real Estate Group, specifically The Bend at a certain location. The property was bought by Inland group, and ever since they took over, they have closed down the amenities that residents use. They don't do proper maintenance on the entire property and don't help customers with valid complaints. They enter apartments without permission and verbally attack residents. There is dangerous mold growing in all the apartments. They advertise it as a luxurious apartment complex with a pool and being dog-friendly, but the pool has been closed since they bought it, and there are signs everywhere saying no dogs allowed. I would like them to remove the luxury from their advertisement and lower the rent because they don't provide the amenities they promised.
I'm writing this complaint as a last resort before this company sends me to collections
I'm writing this complaint as a last resort before this company sends me to collections. I was a resident at *** until October 7. I reached out twice to this property, once by phone where a very unprofessional employee told me I would get a call back from a Sienna employee to follow up on my request. The second time, I went to the property in person. I'm looking for a bill for any charges that were written up after we moved out, but I haven't received anything yet. The lady I saw in person said she would contact her manager and send me a follow-up email, possibly with the letter she had on her end showing a total bill of around 100 dollars. I went to the office on November 5th, and it's now November 19th, but I haven't heard from anyone. All I want is the bill for any move-out charges! It's such a simple request, yet it seems impossible with this company.

The Lotus at River Walk Apartments has been negligent in A/C repairs.
The Lotus at River Walk Apartments has been negligent in repairing A/C and water heater issues, leading to several leaks. My daughter's apartment now has mold with high moisture levels, contrary to EPA guidelines. The apartment manager dismisses the severity, refusing to clean the mold or offer alternative housing during repairs. They insist tenants handle the mold, resulting in damaged personal belongings. They fail to provide a safe environment and are unresponsive and dismissive when contacted, violating health standards and not repairing issues promptly.
I've been dealing with a toxic black mold issue in my unit since 2021
I've been dealing with a toxic black mold issue in my unit since 2021. It's caused me a lot of health problems and symptoms. I've contacted management many times, but they've only cleaned the visible areas with bleach twice. Unfortunately, the problem keeps coming back, and the maintenance solutions haven't been helpful in getting rid of the black mold. The mold has ruined many of my clothes and valuable belongings. I wasn't offered any rent concession and had to pay double the rent to move into a different unit for my own safety. They never offered to transfer me to a new unit. Even the air duct cleaner crew suggested that we should be moved, but we weren't given that option. I would appreciate some concession for the full price I paid for the new place, as well as the remaining days in the old place with the mold issue.

My *** have been dealing with a black mold issue in my unit since 2021 and have had numerous health issues and health-related symptoms due to the exposure to black mold. I've contacted management many times, and twice they only did a bleach clean on the visible areas. The problem has come back consistently, and all solutions by maintenance have been remedied as not useful to get rid of the black mold. I have had many clothes and other valuable items and belongings ruined due to the mold growing on them, and I was not offered any type of concession on rent. I had to pay double the cost of rent to personally move into a different unit as I could not take any more health risks. A new unit transfer was never offered. The air duct cleaner third-party crew even advised that we be moved into a new unit, but we were not given the option. I would like some concession towards my new rent that I paid full price for, along with the remaining days of the new place and old place with the mold issue.
On October 6, 2022, my car, along with a few others, got broken into
On October 6, 2022, my car, along with a few others, got broken into. Stuff and money got stolen. I went to the police and talked to someone in the office about what to do next. All they said was that they know about it when I asked about the gate that they keep leaving open in our so-called GATED community. It's been open for almost 2 months now. They didn't bother sending an email to warn or tell other residents, and they didn't do anything to fix the problem.
Not only am I paying to live in a gated community where they let anyone in, but I've also been here for almost 3 months and the Valet trash only picked up my trash a measly 5 times. I follow all their rules and always put my trash out on time. Yet, I still have to take it out myself when I'm paying for this service every month.
I tried calling the office, but they hung up on me multiple times. I even sent an email, but they haven't responded or done anything to address my concerns.
We moved into The Villas at a gated community in October
We moved into The Villas at a gated community in October . Initially, Echlon managed the property, but Inland acquired it around December or January 2022. Since then, we've experienced numerous issues. Communication is virtually non-existent; despite three tenants on the lease, we only hear from management when they need something. Parking fees are $8 monthly per vehicle, yet despite promises, the towing service is inconsistent. My son, working late, struggles to find parking near our unit. Community fees have risen sharply; when a neighbor inquired, management blamed it on unfilled vacancies. In July, I discussed these concerns with the Regional Manager, who reacted defensively. Pest control is inadequate, evidenced by a wasp nest near the parking area. Maintenance is lacking, and the landscaping is poorly kept, with a dirty pool and hazardous leaks. My husband and a neighbor addressed one leak themselves. Regarding payment, I was inaccurately accused of having insufficient funds, despite my reliable auto-pay setup, and was never informed of any issues.
Center Pointe in a certain location was a beautiful, clean community
Center Pointe was once a beautiful, clean community. Since its acquisition by Inland Real Estate Group LLC, the property has deteriorated, lacking maintenance. We've faced harassment from the property manager, including verbal abuse towards an elderly resident. Our family was wrongfully accused of misconduct at the pool, but evidence proved our innocence. Despite reporting structural issues like water intrusion, no action has been taken. The manager's hostility has escalated after our complaints, creating a hostile living environment.
