The Salvation Army USA Utility assistance

Cindy Abney Director

Reached out for utility assistance was told we did not have a bill so no help. PSO does Power Pay its upfront prepaid to ones electric account. Money could have been pledged but was refused.

First we where told we got help less then a year ago she turned us down. It actually has been 14 or 15 months since we last asked for help. Its only a one time of year help. We need the help and then told she didnt have a bill.

I sent her a copy of our past due balance and our current account status with PSO it is Power Pay and our account number is on it. I have two kids on disability and a wife too. She shunned us pretty badly.

Desired outcome: Utiility Assistance from Salvation Army Elk City we qualify. PSO gives Salvation Army the authority to help people. Cindy Abney should call us and help us.[protected].

Maybe your "kinds" kids maybe? We're in great need of someone telling them how to behave in the store. "I'll 'told' this... I've been in stores where parents allow their children to act like KIDS! the animal kind. Your children were reflecting your poor parental skills. The kids as you call them do not know how to act in public. You may have caused others to leave the store, causing them to lose much needed revenue. You do not have to be educated to raise polite children. But if you love them teach them the right way to act towards others.

The Salvation Army USA Dropping off donations manager irate and rude

Dropping off donations manager irate and rude.

I was dumping off a truckload of donations there was no one there to receive my stuff so I started setting stuff out the gentleman came out and I guess I have a few items that you guys no longer except. They were ceiling fans just replace them from my house. He stated you can leave the ones that I already sent out but they’re the one in the back of your truck just can’t take it. I said oh OK this is the one that actually has a remote control. I said that’s fine. I said it on the dock. While I was doing that he grabbed the other fans and threw them off the dock. I said no worries I will take us to the dump I have a trashcan over here. I went to grab the fan I placed just placed on the dock and he grabbed it and threw it in the glass shattered cutting my leg. I got mad jumped up on the dock told him he assaulted me and he’s like I don’t press charges. He’s a stop confronting me and apologized for breaking the fans. I could’ve donated them somewhere else or I would’ve took them them to the dump is what I told him. He refused to be accountable for his actions that he took and the assault on me saying I don’t know the glass was gonna hit you do you want me to get you a Band-Aid. This guy is not a customer service oriented person in my opinion. I’ve been shopping here for over five years now and never had such a bad experience. My name is Daniel Wendling phone number area code [protected]

Desired outcome: Hope you can handle this and get some kind of training and anger management for this guy. Please let me know what you decide to do.

The Salvation Army USA Rental assistance

I contacted the Salvation Army and spoke with a woman by the name of Ramona Lopez who is more concerned with interrogating me than assisting me.

I have provided her with over 16 documents she requested, and have had 3 interviews with her on several different occasions requesting the same information. She keeps asking me personal questions and requiring me to give her better answers because the ones I gave her just didn't sit right with her. I am in dire need of assistance, and this lady is harassing me over and over and treating me like a criminal.

Desired outcome: Assistance with Rent

The Salvation Army USA Policies and Procedures

I'm currently working full time and waiting to move in to my apartment so I'm residing at the Salvation Army in Wichita Falls, Texas. I was told to have my belongings off of the property by 7am and to come back at 7am for breakfast after I move my property. I moved my belongings (just a couple backpacks of clothing and skin care products) across the street so that I can come back and eat breakfast. When I get to the door I was told that because I left the property I cannot come back in the building until 4pm and several others that left to move their belongings are let back in right Infront of me. This is not fair and the staff is not following policies and procedures correctly.

Desired outcome: For staff to use the same policies and procedures with everyone.

The Salvation Army USA The Cambridge Ohio Salvation Army Captains

How embarrassing is it that the Captains of this Salvation Army can't clean their own house unless their son does it for them. How embarrassing is the piles of dog feces and puddles of urine that sometimes go for days without being cleaned. How embarrassing is it that these two captains literally make fun of people for needing help. You'd think the people running a charity organization would understand the clientele. Just know if you've ever worked with these guys, they have bashed your name behind your back, they have wiped their butts with your donation money, and are only putting on a face for you. Heck I bet captain Ed never told y'all about his adultery issues prior to moving here. I bet captain candy never told you she was a pyramid scheme salesman. I bet you also didn't know captain candy reads Nazi books for fun. I bet you guys also didn't know that these people have made numerous jokes against people of color, religion and culture. These people aren't on your side, they wanted a cozy position so they could look down on what they used to be. Here's one last fun fact for you readers, did you know that captain candy reached out to her son's friends and told them to call police and say he was on heroin (all he ever did was smoke a little pot and needed a walk to cool his head). These people are not who you think they are so please conduct your business and charity responsibly.

Sincerely

A son who's over the lies

Desired outcome: A public apology or termination of the captains

The Salvation Army USA discrimination

Salvation Army,

I've donated money to Salvation Army thinking that it was a wholesome Organization doing good things for people. In November of 2021 you all demanded it from your donators who are white to apologize do apologize for our whiteness. It's disgusting and it's racist. I have requested that you all stop telling me to ask me for donations. I will not donate any money until you have publicly announced an apology for that period it needs to be a solid apology. That is racist and unfair. I've done nothing to any other colored skin individual. I have friends and family that are from 4 races. I am white

Desired outcome: A public Apology

The Salvation Army USA Pahrump Nevada food bank

It has been over 1 month this food-bank has not been able to assist food assistance. At least two sources have told me the new manager has been taking the food off the truck and selling it for profit. These allegations effect the community of elderly and poor. I can be of witness to say it has been over month waiting for the promise of the food truck to show up?

Desired outcome: Contact Pahrump Salvation Army Food Bank, who is signing for the delivery and if nobody is why?

The Salvation Army USA Refused to return clothing item in same condition as purchased within 3 day limit..

The mgr was rude and an associate behind the register laughed at me as I walked out of this store because I was trying to return some clothing that didnt fit for a store credit...

I have been going to this store for many years and have spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars here...

Then I looked at a mcm leather 1.000 dollar sofa that she sold for 39.00 (probably to a friend) and remarked that it should never have gone that cheap thats why I think

She refused to return my item..

She should be "fired" for her insensitivity toward a long time customer, not just at this store but I shop at lincoln park gratiot and 15 mile, west vernor and merriman but I will never step foot back into the downtown store again while she is in charge...

So to all my senior friends I will post this on my fb page.

"do not shop at the downtown salvation army store on west fort street!

Desired outcome: Fire her!

The Salvation Army USA Service from tsa western territory family in crisis intake rep and 2 directors in the denver area

24 hrs after my landlord & I were given a huge stack of paperwork to fill out (on a Wednesday), so my family could receive rental assistance to get out of a high crime apt complex where I was on my 5th police report, this TSA rep calls me 5 times around 3:00 pm the next day (Thursday) from an unregistered phone number to tell me that I suddenly have to return the paperwork by 5:00 PM so she could leave early for vacation. I was on the phone with a company mid-interview, when my phone must have beeped 20 times, interrupting the gentleman interviewing me, forcing me to ask “Can you repeat that” at least 7 times: it cost me the job. I still had no idea this was TSA calling me. I didn’t recognize the number so I had no idea it was her. She didn’t email me. She didn’t text. She didn’t contact the landlord, and she certainly didn’t tell me the day before, that if I didn’t submit the paperwork by 5 pm the following day, that I would lose all opportunity to receive assistance. And why would they give me all of that paperwork on a Wednesday and fail to tell me it needed to be turned in the next day by 5, if they knew there was going to be no more funding? It just doesn’t make any sense.

After her vacation, she was offended when I told her that no one needs to call me five times in a row, explaining that they embarrassed me in front of an employer and that it cost me the job. That’s when she claimed that “there was no more funding at all, [in all of TSA] for my family.”

[censored]. I don’t know what her problem was with me, but you can’t discriminate against an applicant simply because you don’t like them or think poorly of them because they’re in crisis. Not to mention the poor taste of gaslighting me into believing that I had done something wrong to cost me the money that was going to help jy family. That is disgusting abuse, and HOW DARE YOU do it to a family in crisis, facing homelessness. How dare you.

So I demanded a letter on letterhead explaining every part of my experience, demanding why I was given an app on a Wednesday: plenty of money, then 24 hours later on a Thursday: no more money at all. I wanted to know why I wasn’t given a deadline then, the day I got the paperwork, along with four other very easy questions that should have been a breeze to answer if all of this was the truth. And I wanted the questions on letterhead, answered, and signed by a dept head. Of course, she refused to write the letter; I gave her a deadline of Friday, not a peep. Monday was Labor Day, and by 5 PM Tuesday, still no word. Clearly, she had zero responses n zero answers because she was a big, FAT LIAR. These are the kinds of people TSA hires? These are the kinds of people a CHRISTIAN organization puts into place to HELP people? Help?! Ha! If this is TSA's version of "helping people in need", I think we outta take another real, hard look at this organization and if all of the millions of dollars we donate as a nation is truly going to the right place. There are plenty of other organizations that actually DO help people. Maybe it's time I speak up a little louder to people who will actually receive what I'm trying to say.

After the weekend and still no letter, I gave her one more chance. She refused by telling me she had sent "my issue" to another person and had a department Program Director send me a one-line, condescending email telling me TSA wasn’t made of unlimited funds. And she too refused to answer my five simple questions. Everyone was lying to me. I also know that your fiscal year isn’t up until September, so I find it very hard to believe that all of the Western Territory's funding for financial assistance for families in crisis is used up by MAY.

So I made a complaint via their website, under TSA Western Territory. I was contacted rather quickly by a rep, who asked if we could make an appt the following week to discuss the details. I responded with some light details of what happened, asked enthusiastically to set up a time to talk the next week, and then I never heard from her again. I sent another email asking to be heard and to set up a date and was ignored again.

I cannot tell you how it feels to be treated like this not only by a family in crisis intake coordinator but then by a dept head? And then someone who specifically handles complaints? Have any of you read the TSA handbook and grasped what your mission statement is and what values you are to uphold as employees of TSA? Unacceptable.

Porschia Coleman, Aurora, CO. Intake

Kelly Brown Aurora, CO. Supposed Director

Kristen Baluyot, Denver Metro Services Director

Desired outcome: I want the truth. I want a formal investigation of Coleman’s actions and why Brown covered for her. They should be stripped of their titles & blacklisted from ever working in social work again.

The Salvation Army USA Locking people up

When you are homeless, you are at your very lowest. Mentally, physically and spiritually. You are hurting in ways that a lot of people don't understand. I'm hoping that since they are remodeling the 1 in Freeport that they find people that will HELP you instead of just locking you up. At least try and talk to you to see how they can help you out. The homeless in Freeport need HELP. They need people that will try rather than giving up on them and locking them up. Find out what is going on with them. Getting to the root of the problem. Not being so quick to lock them up. People have already given up on us, our last hope is the Salvation Army. I thought that Salvation was meant to save the homeless not give up on them.

Desired outcome: Get people in the Freeport Texas branch that will try and help you instead of just calling the police on you and locking you up. We need HELP.
