Thousand trails / equity lifestyles has bought out outdoor world. Over the past 4 years we have seen the dues go up and the quality of the campground facilities go down. They have started selling encore, a zoned membership. However, the old outdoor world customers membership fees keep rising. I believe they are trying to force the ow members to give up their membership in favor of the new encore, which is cheaper. Encore doesn't have the same benefits as the ow membership.

I think its a down right dirty shame that thousand trails is no longer a part of resorts of distinction.would love to know why they dropped resorts of distinction.many rv campers are not very happy this decision.you would think that they would like to keep their resorts "full".all they are doing is driving away the members and any potential members they might get in the future.word has already gotten out as to what they've done and i really don't like what they've done to they're own members either.

Outdoor World was a nice place. we joined about 15 years ago and now you can't get a cabin unless you pay extra for something worthwhile. The pet policy has changed over the years, where is it almost non-existent. The campgrounds are not kept up, they have no security anymore, and the miniature golf at Timothy Lake is a mess. I don't understand what they do with out maintenance fee besides pocket it. I really don't understand what they are thinking bringing the public in. Most people who just walk are trash. They could care less about what they do at the park. They now treat there members like we did nothing to keep the place in a working condition. In short, Outdoor World and all the rest has turned to crap. In addition, when we bought we wanted to use the cabins, now they hardly have any. Do they expect people to buy RV's just to stay there. They are really getting to be a major train wreck!

Outdoor World at Lake Gaston has some rude management. We told them about our problems and they said to take
it up with Thousand Trails board. You are right the campgrounds are not kept up, they have no security anymore, and the miniature golf at lake Gaston is the pits. They have sold so many membership and created twice the camp spot than the park can hold it a night mare on the weekends. All thousand Trails wants is money and do not are about the parks.I agree with they treat there members like we did nothing to keep the place in a
working condition. In short, Outdoor World and all the rest has turned
to crap. In addition Spend you money somewhere else

Bought my OW membership in 1987 and had many years of family fun when our kids were young. Upgraded it in 2010 to Elite Connections. What a huge mistake! Timothy Lake was our primary resort to visit but in 2013 we had the worse time ever, couldn't sleep the entire night due to all night Labor Day partyers. The dues are now over $1000 and for what? Higher fees and more parks with pools out of service for months...again. Run as fast as you can.

I worked for medina lake for a year and a half. I sold an upgrade membership at beginning of Dec. They owe me 200. Now saying because currently not employed they're not paying. So WRONG. Our membership specialists is Steve Heald. He has all documentation of sale. Please call him at Bay landing to verify.

I am fully against the new plan that you must own a truck to pull your trailer into a park. Not everyone can afford to buy a 50k plus dollar truck. I am also going to get a lawyer and sue the company for wrongful termination of my job, which I didn't deserve. The current manager is the one who should have lost her job.
