THIS COMPANY STOLE FROM ME! They will not process large shipment of my valuable items and will not return them to me. How are they allowed to be in "business"?!?!? Impossible to reach customer support. SHUT THEM DOWN!

I have been very pleased with ThredUp, both with purchases and as a supplier. While clean out kits are currently taking some time to process, the company is up front about that processing time, so I know what to expect. I have been able to easily cash out when I have chosen that route, and easily use my credit when I have chosen that route. There have been significant shipping delays with my most recent clean out, but that is hardly something to fault Thred Up for, as they have no more control over that than I do. Every item I have purchased has been as described, from basic tank tops to designer brands at affordable prices. I just received a beautiful dress in my most recent package with the original tags showing that I got it for roughly 10% of the standard retail price. Thats a great value!
Several horrible experiences. I sent two clean outs which took over 7 months to process, which I was not warned about ahead of time. Then they only gave me a month to make very little on them, yet continued to profit from them after that month! No apology, no customer service response. Plus the $4 cost to return each item and the countless delays in me getting packages that I ordered. A complete scam, do not use!
They are thieves. I sent in several Clean Out Kits full of clothes, shoes, etc. I sent in a kit in particular that was received by ThredUP on September 9, 2022. It took them until March 20, 2023, to process the kit/bag. They conveniently said some of my items didn't meet their standards. Among the rejected items were a pair of Chanel Pumps, designer wedges, luxury sandals, a Coach handbag, and a Juicy Couture handbag, along with many other high-end clothing pieces. I was told in several chats with the company that those items simply didn't meet their standards. To say I am very disappointed is an understatement.
Not only did they inform me that my items didn't meet the standards, but their explanations were inconsistent; they were all over the place with their reasons. To summarize, I have purchased many items from them that were missing buttons, torn, had the lining cut out, or were snagged, yet my items were deemed unacceptable. I find that odd and impossible to believe.
Beware of ***! They will not send my payout. Whenever I try to have what is owed to me sent to PayPal, the site closes before I can put in the code they send to my email account. When I start putting the code in, the page closes before I can complete. I want my money which took many months to get for many new items with tags that they claimed to have sold for a dollar or two.
I've bought items several times from thredup. Sometimes it is great and I'll get a quality item, as described, and in great condition. More recently, I've ended up throwing some items away or throwing them in my donation pile because the return price is not worth it. On my most recent order, the item was not AT ALL as described. It was deemed "excellent" condition (on the website: "Practically new, shows no obvious signs of being worn or washed") and it was not even close to that. The interior had a hole in the built-in bra (which was also not mentioned in the description and I would not have purchased the shirt if it had been) and the back had two big, obvious grease stains. How is that in excellent condition? Very frustrating when the measurements and quality do not match the actual item. If they can't handle what's coming in, they should stop accepting trade-ins until they can catch up. They should definitely not be accepting stained items and try to resell them with lies.

I have sent designer clothes fo the them over 6 months ago for resale and they keep saying my stuff hasnt been processed. They keep delaying the date. There is no one to speak to, you cant get any response from support except an automated reply. Their business practices are horrible. They take your stuff and give you no compinsation or promise what the business stands for- a consignment program. Dont use this company or send them any stuff!
ThredUp has gone downhill fast. They are processing clean out kits from Summer 2022 that should have been processed months ago. And yet they are advertising for people to continue sending in items to thrift. If they cannot keep up with the items they already have to process, they should not be accepting new items. This extremely slow processing is going to result in sellers earning much less than they should be, as their items will be posted for sale during the wrong season. In Summer 2022, they were asking for Winter items. Now these items will be posted in Spring and sellers will be the ones negatively effected, not ThredUp. They also have horrible customer service. It is nearly impossible to speak with a real person and get any assistance for an issue with them.
Like many of the previous posters, I sent clothes in Nov 2022. My process date keeps getting pushed out - now 4/1/23. *** tried to reach out to get my items back to no avail. I have hundreds of dollars worth of clothes and designer bags sitting in a warehouse somewhere. I will NEVER send my clothes there again.
This company's return policy is beyond poor business practices. They first want you to take store credit. Then, when you request a refund, they entice you to take a store credit and receive a "free shipping" label to return your other items. When you insist on returning items for a refund to your oginal form of payment, they hit you with a $3.99 restocking fee per item, and you have to cover the shipping (again).I will never shop with this company again, and I plan on telling my story on social media and to the *** members of the social club that I am a VP of here in my community.

THREDUP does not respond to emails. No phone number to contact. Chat online never answers. I bought a zip hoodie that was supposed to be a women's large. When received, it was labeled as a Youth's large. Sent it back, got an email that said the refund is complete and the refund process would appear in 2-3 days. Over a week has passed, and I have not received a refund. Return number was not provided.
For the purpose of sale, I sent, among other things, a mink jacket in excellent condition. It never appeared in thredup's listing of items for sale sent in by me. In attempts to contact them regarding the whereabouts of my jacket, I received no response to emails, there is no available functional chat, and no way to contact them by phone after numerous attempts. It is impossible to make contact with this company so far. It appears that they disposed of my mink jacket without compensating me or offering me the option of having the jacket returned per their policy. This is a mink jacket, lined with soft lambskin, worth hundreds of dollars. There is no accountability at thredup. If they don't resolve this with me I will be forced to contact my state's *** of
Don't do business with thredUp. I've consigned with them for years, but the service has totally gone downhill. I have a cleanout kit they received in August 2022 and the processing date was October 2022, November 2022, January 2023, February 2023 and now March 2023. A company cannot in good conscious accept items if they know they do not have the staff to process them and sell them. I have absolutely ZERO confidence my cleanout kit will ever be processed. Consign through another company or just donate your items it because if they ever process your items, the payout is not worth the wait.
The amount of time it takes to process bags is unacceptable and should really be illegal. Im going on 7 Months since they received and dates keep being pushed back.

Total scam. They take AT LEAST 80% of the profit. Then they charge fees on top that eat what little money you may get. They price them WAY too high, about retail, and you still get pennies. They only list your items for a couple of weeks, then take them down. After that, they give you a week to BUY back your items for $6 EACH. After that, they become property of threadup. They re-list them for cheaper and take 100%. Don't do it, it's easier and cheaper to just donate your clothes. Complete scam.
Recommendation: Don't sell. Don't buy as they are just firnprofit.
Thred-up's New Selling Model: A Disappointing Experience for Sellers
I've been using Thred-up for a while now, both to buy and sell clothes. I recently sent in three big boxes of high-end clothing from Anthropologie, Marc Jacobs, BCBG Maxazria, and Isabel Marant. I got an email apologizing for the delay in processing, but it wasn't until mid-July that my items were finally processed. This was unusual, as it had never taken this long before. Unfortunately, this meant that my items were listed on the site during a time when people aren't really shopping for summer clothes, as they're either on vacation or getting ready for the new school year.
I've sold items on Thred-up before, so I didn't think to check their policies on selling. However, I noticed that the percentage of profits that sellers receive has been greatly reduced since the last time I consigned with them. Additionally, the amount of time that an item can be consigned has been reduced from 2-3 months to just 2 weeks to a month. If an item doesn't sell within that time frame, Thred-up retains it and continues to offer it for sale on their site. They call these items "expired," and if they do eventually sell, Thred-up takes 100% of the profit. This means that the site is cluttered with items that Thred-up would have donated in the past, and your items are competing with all of these additional items for attention on the site.
Thred-up now allows you to "reclaim" an item once it has only a week left to sell. However, you have to pay $8.95 in shipping to get the item back. It's also difficult to combine multiple expired items, as they're often listed at different times and expire at different times as well. This means that you have to constantly monitor your items to make sure that nothing expires before you can make a price adjustment or request a reclaim. Once your time runs out on an item, you can't reclaim it.
All of these changes to Thred-up's selling model benefit the company and drastically reduce the amount of money that sellers can make. It's nearly impossible to retrieve your most valuable items that haven't sold, or to make any real money on anything you sell. This eliminates the one advantage that Thred-up had over other sites: ease.
Unfortunately, I sent out three boxes of high-quality winter clothes before I realized these changes had been made. It would be too expensive to try to have them returned to me at this point. While I've made almost $700 selling clothes on Thred-up over the years, I've also bought a lot of clothes from the site. There are great deals to be found for buyers, but for sellers, it's clear that Thred-up is taking advantage of them. I don't want to contribute to unsavory business practices that essentially rob people of their items to make a profit. It's unfortunate that the friendly, ethical company I once dealt with has resorted to these kinds of practices. I'm not the only one who will have this kind of experience and walk away.
ThredUP Review: Shady Business Practices and Stealing Clothes?
I gotta say, I used to love ThredUP. They had some seriously cute clothes at prices that didn't break the bank. But lately, they've been doing some shady stuff that I just can't get behind. Here's the rundown, starting with the worst:
1. They might be stealing clothes! I've been reading reviews online and it seems like a lot of people are getting ripped off. Some folks are only getting paid a quarter (yes, you read that right) for their boutique items, and some aren't getting paid at all! But then they see their items listed for sale on ThredUP's site. What the heck?
2. They're charging a restocking fee now. It used to be that you could return items for free, but now they're charging $2 per item! That might not sound like a lot, but if you're like me and you order a bunch of stuff at once, it adds up fast. Plus, if you want your refund back on your card, you have to pay another $8 or $9 for shipping. ThredUP says they're saving us time and gas by letting us return stuff online, but I'd rather just drive to a store and return things for free. And don't even get me started on how little they pay the people who send in their clothes in the first place.
3. They might be inflating their prices. Some reviews I've read say that ThredUP's suggested retail prices are way higher than what they actually paid for the items. I guess it's possible that the people who wrote those reviews got lucky and found things on sale, but given the other sketchy stuff ThredUP is doing, I wouldn't be surprised if they were marking up their prices.
4. They falsely advertised a sale. Earlier this summer, ThredUP had a BINGO sales event where they had a coupon code for 40% off a pair of pants. But when I tried to use the code on a pair of jeans, it didn't work. After a lot of back-and-forth with customer service (which, by the way, you can only contact via email), I found out that jeans were excluded from the sale. So why did they use a picture of jeans on the BINGO card? Seems pretty shady to me.
5. Returns take forever to process now. It used to be that you'd get your refund as soon as your return was in transit. But now it can take weeks before you see your money back. And if you spent over $150, you used to get free shipping for the rest of the month and the next month, no matter how much you spent. That was awesome! But now, by the time you get your order, try everything on, and send back what you don't want, you might not have time to use your credit before it expires.
All of this is really disappointing, because I used to love ThredUP. But I just can't support a company that might be stealing clothes and definitely has some shady business practices. I hope they get their act together soon, because they used to be really great.
thredUP Review: Great for Bargain Hunters, but Lack of Detail Can Lead to Frustration and Returns
I stumbled upon thredUP by accident and boy, am I glad I did! This site is a blast to browse through. You can easily spend hours scrolling through the available items and adding a ton of stuff to your cart without breaking the bank. It's perfect for those who love to online shop but don't want to spend a fortune. However, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Firstly, the items are described in general terms, such as "stain" or "piling". Unfortunately, there are no pictures to show exactly what that means. This can be a big issue because someone might be okay with a stain on a sleeve that they plan to roll up, but not with a stain on the front of a dress that might not come out. This lack of detail can lead to some back and forth returns, which can be frustrating. The descriptions are too vague, with phrases like "will PROB come out w/ cleaning". It would be great if the sellers could clean their items before sending them or if there was a way to verify that they were cleaned. Many items that were supposed to come clean with washing did not. If you have the time, you can return items for store credit and keep shopping. However, be aware that this does not apply to "final sale" items.
I made a big order and unfortunately, 40% of it did not fit or was not usable. Of those items, only one was able to be returned because the others were "final sale" items. For example, I ordered a beautiful grey FCUK sweater dress that was described as having minor wear. It looked fine, but when I put it on, there was a shiny stain on the front that looked like someone spilled popcorn grease on it. It was a final sale item, so I couldn't return it. I tried washing it, but the stain remained. I wouldn't be able to wear it without feeling embarrassed. Many of the items I ordered ended up in my donate pile because they weren't specific enough about the flaws. If they had been more specific, someone might have been able to wear that dress with a cute belt and the stain would have been okay. They need to say where the stains are and what the flaws are. Another dress I ordered was a BCBG runway style dress that was way too big for the size it said and was being held together with safety pins. This should have been noted.
I understand that buying secondhand isn't the same as buying brand new, and the discounts are amazing. However, when there isn't full disclosure, it's frustrating to have to send things back. There were so many final sale items I wanted, but I won't buy them anymore because I can't return them. Many of the final sale items were the ones that weren't wearable. I wish they would take pictures of the flaws and issues for final sale items so that buyers have a better idea of what they're getting.
If you're looking to sell your clothes on thredUP, keep in mind that you won't make a lot of money. If you're just looking to contribute to the site and give others the opportunity to buy secondhand, then you won't be disappointed. However, if you're looking for an easy way to cash in on things you don't want anymore, donate them to your local Salvation Army. They have a donation price list online for what each type of item is worth for the tax write-off, and you can arrange a pick-up from your porch without even being home. They'll leave the receipt. I donated a bag of high-end items, including clothes and shoes, and had a write-off of $600 according to their price list. I'll still use thredUP to buy because it's fun, but I won't sell on it. I get more of a benefit from the write-off and saving my receipts.

I was told about Thred-up thru a customer of mine. It sounded like a great app to sell a lot of my clothing, shoes, and purses. Most of these items were already pictured because I had them listed beforehand on Poshmark or FB. I was overly excited so I immediately packed 2 boxes full. Each box measured 27" x 12" x 12" and weighed between 28lbs and 29lbs with a limit of 30lbs. About a month later they finally received 1.2 weeks after that, they received the 2nd one. After they go thru the boxes and decide what they're going to sell, they picture the items, then list the items. Then they are supposed to alert you that the items are now up for review. You have 12 hours to change the prices and information. Once the 12 hour period is over, you can not change anything. Well, luckily I stay on top of my business and checked the Thred-up app every day. My bag was processed and was already in the 12 hr window and I never received an email from them saying so. I tried changing a few prices and couldn't. I immediately wrote them to notify them about the problems I was having. I spent hours trying to talk to support about it and they were of no help. They kept putting the blame on my phone...it needs to update, I need to clear the cache, etc. After googling it myself...they don't tell you that you can't do anything thru the app. It all has to be done thru the site on Google.
Now that both my boxes were accepted, pictured, listed, etc. I noticed a lot of my items were being shown thru Thred-up ads. People out there were going to see my items! I showed my man with excitement and he went to check out my items for himself. He's a big supporter! This is where we realized my items were all listed $2 more than what everything was priced at. Thred-up is making an extra $2 on each item without the sellers knowledge. Now I had to write support again and find out why? If I alert my customers and tell them they can find my items at a specific website or app and the item is this specific amount...and it's not!...I look like the liar. I look like a scam! I look incompetent! I wrote Thred-up and explained the situation. They ended the conversation without any response. This was repeated 3 or 4 times. A short while later, I received an email from them saying that for some reason I wasn't seeing their responses and that's just how they do things. That it's another fee. Another fee? One item I had listed (for example) was a brand new $75 coat that they listed for $21.99. I couldnt change the price higher than $23.99 because then I would get charged another $5. If it sells I only receive $5 from that as it is?! Then they're making an extra $2? Doesn't make sense to me and it's all in secret unless you see it.
Now let's skip to the part where they returned the items they didn't want to sell. This surprised me because everything I had sent was name brand and in excellent or brand new condition. But I do understand because they only want items that will sell. But it was a little odd that they specifically picked out 14 items from each box I sent it. Whatever the case may be, I need to get these items listed and sold. Luckily half the work is done because I already have pictures of the items in my phone. So I listed a few items and then thought maybe I should pull all the items out of the bag they sent it in to make sure the items are still in the same condition. Pulled a shirt out...caked food fell to the floor. It looked like someone tried the shirt on, ate their lunch, dropped food on it, and decided they no longer wanted it. Each item I pulled out after that, had food and stains on them. Then I saw the brand new Shein bathing suit I sent. If you've bought from Shein before, you'll know that every item or outfit gets sent in a closed Shein bag. There was no bag and the bikini top was gone. I only received the bottoms. The 2 outfits they listed, they took them out of the bags also and listed them separately. I immediately wrote them again demanding to talk to someone. I got nowhere but they'll respond within a time frame thru email.
Do NOT send your items to Thred-up! You will get ripped off and there will never be a class action lawsuit due to "they don't make enough". Rip off scam artists!
ThredUP Review: A Scam That Will Leave You Disappointed and Insulted
I gotta say, I used to love ThredUP. I sent in a bag of clothes last year and it was a breeze - they processed it quickly, the clean out bag was free to send in, and I made about $300 for 24 pieces. Some were upfront payouts and others were consignment pieces. So, when I had more clothes to get rid of a few months ago, I didn't hesitate to send them in. But boy, have things changed.
First off, they charge you to send in your clothes now. It can be anywhere from $4.99 to $10.99, which seems to fluctuate for no apparent reason. Then, you wait and wait for them to even get to your bag. Unfortunately, I sent in multiple bags at once, with an estimated processing time of a month. That came and went, and it took them two weeks to even get to my bags. Then, they hit you with the insulting figure they tell you your bag of clothes is supposedly worth. This is where they really mess people over.
They need to fix their "estimated payout calculator" - which they furnish and encourage you to use. You put in the brand name and type of item and it shows you what you can expect to receive for a similar piece. For example, you type in Ann Taylor and choose dress, and it comes up with several dresses, indicating a payout would be $9.25. It's a scam to have people using it prior to sending in items thinking they'll be receiving in the neighborhood of $9.25 for a brand new with tags Ann Taylor dress. So, you send in a whole bag of clothes thinking, "Well, according to their calculator, all these clothes I'm sending in should fetch around $166." Of course, it's a pure shock when you end up clearing $13, because don't forget you have to pay a $10.99 fee for the privilege of them stealing your clothes. And then you have to wait 14 days to be able to "cash out."
Then they say "the payout calculator may not reflect our new payout system." Yeah, I'd say. They're a scam and I'll continue to shout it until they're honest up front about payouts to people. Leading people to believe and make a decision to send in clothes based on an estimate calculator they provide that they know isn't correct is bait and switch. They know no one would bother sending in clothes if they saw $.60 pop up (that's two quarters and a dime), so they conveniently don't fix/update that calculator to reflect their greedy new business plan and continue to stiff those providing their inventory every day.
Making matters worse, they send you random "good news!" emails when an item you sent in is sold. So, you get to not only see that the item they paid you $.60 for was sold for $22, but they remind you that you've already been paid for the item and won't be receiving more money. So why send that email? To let us see the profit they've made? They're ridiculous.
If you go to complain on social media, they give a canned "oh no - sorry you're sad..." response. Then they'll offer to have you contact customer service so they can tell you what was wrong with your clothes to only pay you $.60. The clothes that were apparently so crappy that you received two quarters and a dime for, that they'll go sell for $22. That makes a lot of sense. So what's the deal - the clothes are soooo bad, yet they sell them? They're either shafting the sellers by saying their clothes are so flawed they're only worth pennies, or they're selling these flawed clothes to the public. But the buying experience seems to be relatively positive from what I've seen.
I only wish people would read the seller reviews/comments on here and other places before sending in their items. ThredUP's business plan must include "If we can get people to just send in one bag each - even if they never use us again because of our shoddy business practices - we still have that inventory!" Give your clothes to a local charity and take the write off. You'll make a heck of a lot more and feel better about yourself at the end of the day.
ThredUP? More like GreedUP. I'll look forward to the day they're out of business - which will be sooner rather than later if they don't get it together.
ThredUp Review: Terrible Customer Service, Unprofitable Selling, and Hit or Miss Buying
I've had experience both buying and selling on ThredUp, and let me tell you, their customer service is just terrible. It's clear that ThredUp is only interested in making a profit, and they don't care about their customers, whether they're buying or selling.
If you're selling on ThredUp, you're not going to make much profit at all. They take a huge cut of the sale price, and even if your bag sells for $200, you might only see $20 of that. They claim that they need to use the difference to run the site and ship the items, but that's just not true. They don't take half of the items you send them, and if you want those items back, you have to pay $16 to have them returned to you. The items they do take and mark as consignment don't always sell, and if you want them back, you have to pay for shipping. Otherwise, they'll "properly recycle it" or "sell it at a later date," which means they're making a profit off of something you don't want anymore. I've sold items on ThredUp and made only pennies, while they made $10-30 for each item. It's just not worth it unless you're okay with practically donating everything you send them. Don't try to sell on ThredUp for profit, because they'll always benefit more than you. I'd recommend only using them if you were planning on trashing your clothes or donating them anyway. I've tried to contact them about mistakes on the selling end, but I've either gotten no response or a response that didn't actually address the issue.
Buying on ThredUp is hit or miss. Some deals are great, and you can get some decent brands starting at 99 cents. However, as with any thrift store, some of the items have issues that they overlooked. Sometimes these issues are listed, but sometimes they're not. I'd say that 80-95% of the items I've bought have had no problems whatsoever. Just be careful and read the descriptions carefully. Once, I received an item that smelled strongly of smoke, which is against what ThredUp accepts. I contacted them about it, but it took weeks for them to respond. The one day I didn't check my email, they responded offering credit, but hours later they closed the case, assuming everything was fine because I didn't respond. Recently, I placed an order quickly, and found out that an item went up in price while it was in my cart, and another was an accidental purchase. They were part of a bundle order, so they hadn't shipped yet. I messaged ThredUp about it, but they said that they couldn't cancel the order because it had already been labeled and was ready to be shipped. This is ridiculous, because the bundle option is supposed to wait to see if you have any other items you want to add to the same box to save on shipping. They just wanted me to receive these items, pay for return shipping, and pay the restocking fee. They don't care about their customers. I'd recommend buying on eBay instead, because they have a satisfaction guarantee and will actually cancel your order if there's a problem. eBay doesn't always side with sellers, but they always have the buyer's back in nearly every dispute, so if something like this happened, you'd get all your money back and wouldn't have to pay for return shipping if it was the seller's mistake.
You can't really call selling on ThredUp "selling," because you're not going to make much profit. I've sent over $2000 worth of items in great or brand new condition, which I probably could've sold for $1000-$1500 on eBay if I weren't so lazy. I'm aware that clothing depreciates quickly, but you'd think that 5 full black trash bag-sized cleanout bags full of luxury brands and items with tags would've given me some decent amount back. However, I've made well under $200. I've sold on yard sale websites, eBay, thrift stores, and ThredUp, and I can say that ThredUp is the least satisfying and least profitable venue for selling, even compared to thrift stores. At least with thrift stores, you know where your stuff goes and what gets accepted, and you get it back for free. Don't sell on ThredUp unless you're okay with not seeing any of it again and maybe not getting anything back.
Buying on ThredUp is fine if you don't mind the hit or miss of it, but eBay is safer and has better customer service. Keep in mind that ThredUp won't cancel your order.
In conclusion, I'd recommend finding somewhere else to buy and sell clothes. There are some deals to be found on ThredUp, and I've been happy with some purchases, but it's just not worth the horrible customer service for when things don't work out, which is half of the time. I'm going out of my way to tell people not to use ThredUp, so you know it's bad, because I don't usually write reviews like this. Avoid ThredUp.
thredUP Review: A Front for Theft - My Experience with the Clothing Resale Company
I heard about thredUP from a friend who made a cool $45.00 for a bag of her unwanted clothes. I usually donate my clothes to local charities, but I'm in my second trimester of pregnancy and needed maternity clothes. So, I thought I'd give thredUP a try. My friend was part of thredUP's initial campaign, when the payout for bags was fair and the workings of their business more transparent. They paid several clothing bloggers and YouTube personalities to spread the word of this wonderful service. But things have changed since then.
On May 17, 2017, I received an email notification from thredUP that my polka dot bag had been received. The bag was stuffed with high-quality, name-brand clothing items. As the thredUP website suggests, Do the D.O.T. Defect-free, on-trend, and top brands. The more D.O.T.-like your items, the bigger the payout, eh? Not so much.
The thredUP notification email stated that they expected to have my bag of clothing processed by June 28, 2017. I did not receive communication again until July 7, 2017. They accepted six upfront items and two consignment items. Bag Earnings Subtotal: $5.00, Bag Fee: -$9.00, Payout: $0.00, Consignment Payout: TBD. That's right, payout $0.00. And consignment items? I was never made aware that my items could be placed on consignment. Until I read the fine print on this VERY SAME email. Did this policy suddenly change in the weeks it took them to process my bag? They have finally made this information available on their website.
A few more facts on thredUP that will make you cringe:
- The thredUP website is inaccessible without providing your email address or logging in with Facebook or Amazon. Dealing in the business of selling information, thredUP? Stealing clothing hasn't earned you enough profit? Stay away and protect your private information from these scammers!
- Customer service?! Ha! It took me a lot of searching to find a Cambridge, MA customer service phone number (when they are based in San Francisco, CA). Upon calling, I received the following message, "Thank you for contacting thredUP. Your message is very important to us. If you have an urgent support issue or a general question, the best way to reach us is by email at ***@thredup.com. If you would prefer to leave us a message here, we will return your call as quickly as possible. We look forward to serving you." The ole run around, eh thredUP? For those that wish to complain to this joke of a company, that phone number is ***676. Please join me in letting them know that we're on to their practices.
- thredUP has several sales regions. For example, a buyer from Texas would not be able to purchase items available to a buyer from Michigan and so on. My items, for instance, are shipping to buyers from thredUP's Mechanicsburg, PA location. Think about this: those clothing items I sent that were not accepted for sale could have very well been sent to another region, posted to the website, and made available to other buyers. I would not be able to see these items listed for sale, as I am not located within that particular region. I have NO DOUBT this is happening to all sellers across the board.
- Besides a payout, thredUP also leads the seller to believe wonderful things are being done with their clothing items that are not accepted for sale. Catch phrases like "do good," "environmental," "social," and "sustainable" are used in abundance on their website. What really happens? Their website suggests, "Unaccepted items are passed onto third-party sellers or our textile recycling partners and repurposed into new, useful products like carpets and pillow stuffing. The proceeds we recoup help us cover some (but not all) of the shipping and labor costs." They are profiting additionally off of items that they deemed unacceptable. They did not pay the seller! And shipping costs?! Are they not charging each seller a $10.00 Bag Fee?!
- They charge the buyer shipping for any return items!
Am I going mad?! Why have these practices been allowed to continue?! This company is a front for plain and simple THEFT. Someone at the top of this SCHEME is laughing hysterically while they lounge in their California beachfront home. That I helped fund.
I am not even close to finished. I will continue to post my experience until this scam has been brought to light, exposed, and SHUT DOWN. I encourage all who have been robbed like myself to join me in my efforts.

ThredUp Review: Inconsistent Pricing, Slow Shipping, and Deceptive Business Practices
I've used ThredUp a few times now, both as a buyer and a seller, and I have some thoughts to share. Overall, I've had a pretty good experience buying from them - I've placed over 10 orders and have been happy with most of what I received. However, returns can be a bit of a hassle, and I've received a few items that were ripped or not as advertised. That being said, most of the clothing I ordered was consistent with what I was expecting, and I've been happy with the quality.
As for selling, I sent in a bag stuffed with clothes in great condition, some of which were even new with tags. I was realistic about what the payout would be, and expected to get around $15. My payout ended up being $15.06, which was pretty good. However, it took two weeks for them to process my bag, and I was surprised by the items they accepted and rejected. They rejected most of the best-looking items, including the ones that were new with tags, and accepted the older and more worn clothes. It just didn't make any sense to me, and it makes you wonder where the rejected clothes are going. Unlike Twice, there is absolutely no information given to you on where the rejected clothes go. My second bag was processed last week, and I got zero payout for that one. There were at least 4-5 pieces they should have accepted, and I expected $3-4 from that, but they rejected everything. I was a bit miffed, but not all that upset since nothing of substantial value was sent and it would have been donated anyway. Bottom line, don't send anything expensive or any item you would be upset to get little to no payout for. If you do that, then you'll be happy with your payout. I've never consigned anything, but to me it seems like the consignment policies won't benefit the seller in many cases. Frankly, the 20% off coupon they send to you when they receive your bag is worth a lot more? $25 for me since I knew it was coming and I had an order queued up. Just make sure you check your e-mail often because it is only good for 24 hours.
One thing I've noticed is that pricing can be inconsistent, even within the same brand. Many items are miscategorized, and very light and very dark items are almost impossible to see in their photos. Little to no consideration is given to how old an item is when it is priced. If you are very familiar with the brands you like, you'll notice this quickly, so look with a critical eye. I like the fact that ThredUp has so many brands in one place, but there are few rewards given to loyal customers other than 10% off Mon-Wed on mobile app orders only. Other promotions for existing customers are not publicized well. For example, you'll find the coupon codes on retailmenot.com, but not on ThredUp's website or on its Facebook page. I've opted in to receiving promotional e-mails, but I've never gotten a coupon code from them via e-mail. Customer service is slow to respond to e-mails, and shipping is very slow. It's also quite expensive if you do not buy enough to earn free shipping.
Overall, I will continue to shop on ThredUp, but it's not my go-to site. However, I wouldn't be surprised if this company was investigated for deceptive business practices, so shop while you can! In fact, through a Facebook conversation with one of their customer service reps, they admitted to me and a few other shoppers that they 'work with wholesale thrifting companies' and that they are 'not currently donating clothes directly to charitable partners'. You will NOT find this info on their main website, and if you ask in no uncertain terms where your rejected clothing is going, they are very evasive and keep referring to their generosity to their 'charitable partners'. So in other words, you may end up seeing the stuff you send in but are not paid for on eBay. Keep that in mind as you stuff that convenient clean-out bag they send you unsolicited... they are making money off of you whether they pay you or not. Based on this, I lowered my review to only two stars, due to a lack of basic business ethics.
UPDATE (10/23): ThredUp has made some changes that I think are worth noting. They have stopped offering free returns for orders made through the mobile app, so you will have to pay return shipping on ALL returns. They will not accept returns on items less than $10 unless the item is defective. They have also lowered the threshold for consignment items to $20, putting the risk of not being paid back on the seller for MANY more items. Additionally, buyers cannot use discount coupons on consignment items. All of these changes were made without notifying customers first. This is in addition to no longer offering a 20% off coupon when they receive your Clean Out bag, raising the price of thousands of items since the summer, and a decline in quality control. As a consumer, I deleted my account because I was disgusted with its ever-changing policies and quality issues. As an entrepreneur, I can't take my eyes off the inevitable train wreck that is ThredUp. You'd think with two major infusions of capital and high-powered business advisors (Netflix, eBay execs), this company could at least demonstrate basic business sense/ethics. But I guess money cannot guarantee success, so I keep watching for signs of the crash...
ThredUP's Deceptive Business Practices: A Warning to Consumers
I recently had a terrible experience with thredUP and would not recommend sending clothes to them. I sent in three bags of clothing, which included about 150 items, mostly brand new with tags from Gymboree and Gap. However, thredUP paid me less than $1 for almost every item and even refused to pay me for some of the items. I tried to resolve the issue by emailing and calling them, but they refused to pay me a reasonable amount for my clothes.
I was so frustrated with their lack of response that I decided to notify every consumer complaint site I could find. Eventually, I even reached out to the San Francisco Attorney General's Office, which opened a criminal investigation into thredUP after I complained to them. ThredUP responded to my BBB complaint with a lie, claiming that there was a problem with their website's price calculator when I sent in my bags. However, I had been emailing them with questions for a month before I sent anything to them, and it was only after I complained on Gymboree's Facebook page that a representative of Gymboree contacted thredUP on my behalf.
It was well after several exchanged emails and finally a phone call from Daniella, where I made her aware of the website issues (which she told me thredup had been UNAWARE of), that the website issues were finally repaired--more than 2 months after she says they were aware and trying to correct it? They were aware of the problem for sure! There had been no attempt to repair the website because in doing so, people would have been able to see how little Thredup was paying for clothing and no one would have sent anything to them! It has been their intent all along to keep customers from discovering their true payout amounts.
ThredUP's website had a few posts showing what others were paid for their clothing, but these posts clearly showed thredUP paying a lot of money for even used clothing. I went by those posted statistics, thinking I would receive even more money since what I was sending in was brand new with tags attached clothing. As far as Daniela's statement regarding people being able to make more money sending in used clothing because they pay up to 40% of the value, is absolutely absurd! Since when is used clothing worth more than brand new clothing? If that was the case, every store would be a resell store and there would be no market for new clothing. Daniela made an utterly ridiculous statement regarding that.
Daniela did go through my payout amounts and found many that were inaccurate. She offered an additional $45 for those errors, which is nothing considering I had sent in about 150 mostly new designer clothing items. This works out to about an additional 30 cents per item. It does not even begin to reasonably compensate me for my clothing. Initially, when I requested an additional $300 over what thredUP had said they would pay me, I was trying to make a point. I wanted them to take full responsibility for their deception. I was asking very little reimbursement. However, after thredUP refused to properly compensate me and discovering many other people who were victims of Thredup's scheme, I asked for a more accurate compensation.
This was a deliberate tactic on thredUP's part to deceive customers, pay pennies for valuable clothing, then resell it on the thredUP website for a HUGE profit--all without the customer's being able to accurately discover what they would be paid PRIOR to sending clothing to thredUP. I want to be compensated the full monetary loss for my clothing. In addition, after filing my complaint with the Better Business Bureau, I continued to pursue the case and notified the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. They found enough evidence to open a criminal investigation into thredUP's business.
It is very clear that thredUP designed their business to scam people in order to make a huge profit reselling clothing sent in from unsuspecting people. It is only because of my continued pursuit of my complaint that thredUP repaired their website to disclose more information regarding payouts. However, if that disclosure had been made PRIOR to my sending in my clothing, I would never have sent them anything! I am still seeking an appropriate compensation for my clothing, as well as an end to thredUP's website.
thredUP Review: Great Concept, But Falls Short on Quality and Pricing
I bought a ton of clothes from thredUP about a year and a half ago, in multiple orders. I really wanted to love this store - an online consignment store? What a dream! But unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations.
You know how it is when an ex starts texting you and telling you how much he misses you and wants to try again? And your friends remind you of all the reasons why you broke up in the first place? That's how I feel about these clothes. They look great online and even in the box, and sometimes they even look good when you first put them on. But after a while, you start to notice all the little flaws and wonder why you ever thought they were so great.
Some of the clothes have clearly been loved and worn a lot, and others just don't fit quite right. I bought a dress for a funeral that looked like it had never been worn, but when I tried to zip it up over my chest, it was impossible. If it fits my hips and waist, it should fit over my chest too! And don't even get me started on the pilled sweater that hangs weirdly because someone has pulled at it too much. That's not something you should be paying $40 for, even if it is a brand name.
There were a few items that I absolutely loved and would buy again, but they were few and far between. And the fact that thredUP only gives you store credit for returns is a bit frustrating. I didn't bother returning anything because I knew I wasn't going to shop there again.
Overall, I think thredUP has potential, but there are a few things they need to do differently. First of all, they need to check the clothes more thoroughly before putting them up for sale. I shouldn't have to pay to get a dress with a broken zipper fixed. And the pricing is a bit high for some of the non-designer names - you could just spend a little more and buy the same thing new. They also need to move out of San Francisco and cut their overhead costs. I don't think San Francisco is the style mecca it used to be, and the prices reflect that. Finally, it would be helpful if the staff could try on the clothes to make sure they fit properly.
All that being said, I do think there is a need for a store like thredUP. There are plenty of women out there who are looking for stylish clothes at a decent price, and thredUP could fill that niche if they follow through on their original vision. I'd be willing to give them another try if they make some changes.

Disappointing Experience with thredUP: Low Payout and Hidden Fees
My experience with thredUP was not a good one. I heard about it from two friends in my daughter's girl scout troop who raved about it. I ordered my first bag and was excited to go through my family's closets and send in some clothes. It was a lot of work, but I was happy to get rid of some things and possibly earn some credit to shop on thredUP.
However, I became worried when I had no way to track the bag and no email confirmation that it was received by the post office. I finally received an email that it was received and would take some time to go through everything. When I received the email about how much I would be receiving, I was extremely disappointed. I sent in over 30 items, some still with tags, and was only receiving $19.33. That's less than $1 per item!
I logged in online and saw that thredUP decided to keep 22 items and would be selling them for a total of $158. I understand that it takes time to set everything up and take pictures, but $19 for all that work is not worth it. I could have sold the clothes at a neighborhood garage sale and made more money.
I asked for my items to be returned to me and thredUP took over $12 out of my credit to ship it back. So, my grand total credit was only $6. I am very disappointed in this company and will not be shopping or ordering another sell bag. It was a nice idea to be able to send in bags year-round, but it's not worth the time and energy for such a small return.
ThredUP Review: Disappointing Payouts and Inconsistent Acceptance of Items
I recently tried out ThredUP, and I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. While I appreciate the convenience of being able to send in my clothes for consignment without having to leave my house, the payout just wasn't worth it.
I sent in a bag of clothes, some of which they didn't even accept, and ended up making less than $1 per item. I understand that there are costs associated with shipping and processing, but I was hoping for a bit more than that. Plus, they don't make it clear on their website that you'll only get a decent payout if your item is listed at $60 or more. So unless you're consigning high-end designer clothes, you're not going to make much money.
Another issue I had was that they didn't even accept some of my brand new, never-worn items. I sent in a pair of Naot pumps that retail for $150, and they weren't even paid out up front or consigned. Meanwhile, I saw much uglier and more expensive shoes for sale on their website. It just didn't make sense to me.
And while some of my items did sell within a week, I noticed that not all of them were listed on their website. I never saw one of my dresses up there, even though they claimed it had sold. It just seemed a bit fishy to me.
Overall, I think ThredUP has a lot of room for improvement. If they could offer a higher payout, maybe around $25-$35 per bag, I would be more likely to use their service again. But as it stands, I don't think it's worth the hassle of sending in my clothes for such a small payout. Plus, their business model seems more like a thrift store than a true consignment arrangement. So if you're thinking of using ThredUP, just be aware that you might not make as much money as you were hoping for.
ThredUP Review: Great Deals, but Buyer and Seller Beware
ThredUP is a great place to find good deals on clothing. They offer up to 90% off retail prices, which is amazing. However, there are some issues that both buyers and sellers should be aware of. ThredUP claims to have a 12-point inspection process, but when I asked them about it, they couldn't tell me what the 12 points were. This made me wonder if they were being truthful about their inspection process.
Despite this, I decided to order three items from ThredUP. Unfortunately, one of the items had a large stain on it. I was able to return it, but it was disappointing to receive an item that was not as described. ThredUP did apologize and said that sometimes things get overlooked, but it was still frustrating.
ThredUP prides itself on being environmentally friendly. They claim that "thrifting can help solve the fashion waste crises" and that "buying one used item reduces its carbon, waste, and water footprints by 82%." While this is great, there is a problem with their business model. ThredUP pays sellers very little compared to other resale sites like Poshmark or Ebay. This means that they are making a huge profit at the expense of the people who sell their clothing to ThredUP.
The process of selling your clothing to ThredUP is easy. You order a cleanout kit, fill it up, and send it back to ThredUP. They take care of everything else, including taking pictures, writing descriptions, and posting the items on their website. However, I found out that ThredUP pays very little for most items. Anything under a resale price of $100 is paid much less by ThredUP than Poshmark or Ebay. For example, if you sell an item for $50, ThredUP will pay you $15, while Poshmark will pay you $40 and Ebay will pay you $39. This means that if you send in clothing with a resale value of $500, you would only receive $100 from ThredUP, compared to $400 from Poshmark or Ebay.
ThredUP knows what they are doing. They post on their Resale Report page about the growing secondhand market and how they are weathering the Covid storm better than their competition. They also listed revenue of $186 million in 2020, with net losses growing to $47.9 million. While I hope that the losses were due to more people recycling their clothing through ThredUP, it's hard to say for sure.
If you really care about the environment, ThredUP does offer a free recycling service. You can mark that you don't want your items returned when you order your cleanout kit. However, if you want to sell your gently used clothing for a fair price, I would recommend going to Poshmark or Ebay instead.
Disappointing Experience with ThredUp: Fake Ralph Lauren Boots and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, I'm a big fan of consignment shopping. It's a great way to save some cash while still looking stylish. So when I heard about ThredUp, I was pretty excited. My local consignment store had just closed down, so I was in need of a new place to shop. However, my experience with ThredUp was not what I was hoping for.
I ordered a pair of boots that were advertised as "Ralph Lauren." But when they arrived, I noticed a few things that made me suspicious. So I contacted Ralph Lauren to get them authenticated. Sure enough, they were not authentic. I reached out to ThredUp to let them know, and they told me I had to return the boots and wait for them to review the authenticity before they would refund me. I was pretty frustrated by this, especially since Ralph Lauren had already confirmed that the boots were fake.
I went back and forth with ThredUp via email, but they were not budging. They kept insisting that their "experts" needed to authenticate the boots before they could issue a refund. It was all very unprofessional and disrespectful. And to top it off, they even mentioned that they might "destroy" the boots once they had reviewed them. Who knows if they'll actually do that, but it's pretty shady if you ask me.
I was so disappointed by ThredUp's response that I decided to leave a review on TrustPilot. But when they replied, it was just a copy-paste of their original email to me. They didn't even address my actual review. It was clear that they didn't care about my experience or my concerns.
Overall, I won't be shopping with ThredUp again. Their customer service was terrible, and they didn't seem to care about my experience at all. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Thred Up Consignment Review: Poor Customer Service and Lost Items
I gotta say, I really don't recommend consigning with Thred Up. I can't speak to their shopping experience, but I can tell you about my experience sending in their "clean out bags." So, about 6 months ago, they partnered with Macy's and offered credits for the clothes you sent in that were put on a Macy's gift card. I ordered my first bag, filled it up, and sent it in. They accepted 29 out of the 38 pieces of clothing I sent in and I was paid $60 and some change on a Macy's gift card. Not too shabby, right? So, I decided to order another bag, but this time I selected the option to have my unwanted items returned because I was sending in some higher end and quality items, including 5 pairs of designer shoes and 2 Coach handbags, along with 48 pieces of clothing.
Here's where things went south. After waiting over 2 months and way past the deadline they told me my bag would be processed by, I received an email informing me that my bag had been completed and they accepted 29 items for a total of $56.55. This included a few pairs of the designer shoes I sent them, but not the Coach handbags (one of which still had tags on it and had never been used). I emailed them to ask when my unwanted items would be returned and they informed me that I had not selected that option and those items were gone for good - including the Coach handbags! We emailed back and forth a couple of times and they told me if I could provide "documentation" of selecting the return option, they would CONSIDER compensating me for my loss. Of course, I had no such "documentation" for the reason I explained earlier.
I asked for a customer service phone number to be able to actually speak with someone instead of communicating via emails, but they didn't respond. Their customer service is, without a doubt, less than a one star rating. It's understandable why they do not post a customer service phone number and only "live chat" times and an email address. This way if they want to ignore your questions, complaints and dissatisfaction, they just don't respond to you.
I wasn't 100% pleased with how much they gave me for my items the first time around, but their website's idea and concept was more convenient than driving to a local consignment store which is why I tried it the second time and that time sent many more things as well as designer items. However, their customer service is so bad that I will never consign with them again nor purchase anything. I've informed all my friends and encourage you to take my warning to heart and not do it as I guarantee you will be disappointed.
You make your own decision, but if you choose to deal with them, be prepared to be disappointed.
Clothing from consignors
I sent almost 5 or 6 "kits" to thredup. I got charged 14.99 for EACH kit to send alot of my expensive clothing.
They then turn around and sell them for money and give the consignor PENNIES. Something has to be done about this! THen after 30 days i see they done give you anything! AND KEEP TRYING TO SELL OUR CLOTHES.
I wish I would have never sent my clothing there and I hope someone files a lawsuit soon, or i will!
Lululemon leggings
Leggings received were obviously fake. Logo was iron on and cracking, tag had been sewn in, no sizing listed inside pocket. It appears it was known that the item was fake as it is listed as no return. These legging can be purchased on amazon for less than $20 and I paid more than double that. Quality control is clearly lacking and clients should not be sent fake items.

I accidentally sent them a pair of $150 shoes and they said they would track them down and return them. They never did and then all of a sudden they say “sorry, they were recycled”. Come to find out they listed them on their app for $103! They literally STOLE my shoes and i got absolutely no money! They are literal criminals, deceitful unethical pigs

Order Concern
I received my package and got all the items on my order but, one item in particular which was a pair of black Nike leggings had two holes on the inside of the leggings in the waistband. I paid close to twenty dollars for these leggings and to have them come in this condition when they were listed as excellent is beyond me. I like the leggings even though there are two rips. But I would not have bought them knowing this. I wanted to talk to a service agent about this and have tried contacting them multiple times. It is very frustrating that every time I try, they are busy with an influx of chats, but how is it that way every time. I just would like to talk to someone about my dissatisfaction with my ordering this time. Thank you!

I ordered a pair shoes ASOS: SHOES which were listen as a Size 5.
Which I received, however, although they are stamped on the bottom of the shoe as a Size 5 and it was listed as 5 in your on-line and on the bottom of the shoe. However, THEY ARE NOT a 5. They are 9 3/4 length, almost a 10 inches ! The shoe is a open toe shoe style which leaves about 1/2 of a inch in the front with NO TOE...it is vacant ? There is NO paper work included in the box I received...so as to return them with out the charge of shipping, etc. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO ? I have ordered shoes from you before...I paid shipping and the cost of the shoe...there is NO return slip...how do I get reimbursed ? I have a small foot and appreciate the fact that "Thred's Up" carries shoes for the small-footed. However, you might want to measure or re-look at your categories...assuming that all the shoe manufacture's adher to the same length standard for a 4 or a 4 1/2 or a 5...makes life tough for you/me.

I never received a refund.
Like most of the complaints before me , I also never received a refund for a dress I purchased. I’ve tried every way to reach them but there is NO customer service number or email address to contact them.
Since I financed this purchase wit Afterpay, I contacted them for assistance. They were able to track the order but there is no refund or return record..
I believe this is just a fraudulent scam. They should be investigated for cheating so many people out of their money.
Desired outcome: I would love my refund but more I would like to see this company shut down for fraud.
My cleanout kit
I mailed a bag filled with many items including brand new clothes with tags still on them. I saw 2 items posted. What happened to the rest of my things? This experience makes me distrust Thred up with what they do with your clothes. I will never send in another kit and have alerted friends and family to do the same.

Back in August 2022 someone hacked my THRED UP account and made purchases in the amount of $1,185.00. While I was able to work with the Thred Up customer service to stop the sale and shipment of goods, I was NEVER refunded the money. I have tried messenger, chat, emails, nothing.
Yes, I did have my bank investigate and was informed that Thred Up denied any of this happening.
Desired outcome: I would like my money back
Not being able to contact thredup
My order was delivered, but on the threadup site it still shows as 'in transit'. until it's delivered, i cannot generate a return request. i am trying to contact somebody to correct that, but there is not a single phone number on the website for the customer service and the 'chat' function does not work. all you can do is to choose from a menu of questions and click on pre-typed answers. this is very frustrating.

Good luck with that one. I just spent an hour on their "chat" and nothing got solved, she all of a sudden must have ended because I got "how do we rate?" I just spent over $200 weeks ago and I've already made three payments to Afterpay but no clothing. Phone number to HQ states its a goggle number. This is ridiculous, my account doesn't show any purchases but I have points. Again good luck. After this I'm never going back to ThredUp.
I second your complaint, I would like to talk with a customer service person. they closed over the holidays and I couldn't start a return--now they won't let me return my order.
Terrible service
Terrible customer service I had to send emails to get refund sent back to my card and the first email string finally got answered but they didn't fix it. Emailed them a second one because they hadn't answered the first. Then they answered the first. This is the third time I've had this happen too.They just ignore your emails too easily. And its funny they don't accept some items that are new while they send me stuff that has been torn or cut with sizors. YES cut as in by a person. And it was impossible to see this in any pictures by the way. They made sure no one would be able to tell. One shirt had scrapes another had outright tares. And one pair of pants had a cut at the bottom of the leg.
Thredup store credit/banned account?
May 30, 2022 I returned some items I purchased from Thred Up and expected it to be refunded to my credit card. I sent numerous emails, and contacted my credit card company and the only reply I received was they could only give me a store credit. Now Sept. 21, 2022 I am attempting to use the store credit and says my account has been banned. (see attached photo) Original order # XHP741U515K9 purchase delivered May 2022 (see attached photo). Return authorization #5043206 May 30, 2022. (See attached photo)
I have also attached photo of the tracking # of package being returned to Thredup.

Stolen item
I shipped a whole bunch of clothing in a pristine Givenchy tote bag, and the tote bag was never listed for sale. I have contacted customer service and no one has been able to help me, or locate the bag, and my request for the issue to be escalated to a supervisor hasn't received a response. So angry that I am being treated this way, after being a long-time seller and shopper with thredup.
Desired outcome: I would like a response to my inquiry!
I am waiting to see some of my items listed as well, if anything is missing I will file a lawsuit!
Missing package
I ordered shoes a few weeks ago. Expensive ones. Said it was delivered on Aug 31at 2:53pm. It was never delivered nor did a FedEx truck come to the house.. We have cameras. I checked the address and even walked to several neighbors homes. I’ve tried to contact ThreadUp several times and have received no answer. FedEx can’t get in touch with ThreadUp to confirm the order either. Total scam. Now I’m out $230+. I’m going to report them to BBB.

Funds converted to gift card without my knowledge. I have no gift card and no money now.
I went to cash out and was shocked to see my balance of over 1k had disappeared. When I reached out to them via email they said they have a policy that after one year any money is converted to a gift card. I have no gift card and cannot get them to answer where that gift card is. I never received any emails from them as they stated they sent emails letting me know my money was being converted. When I asked them to provide me the email they sent - they went quiet. Now can't get a response at all. I combed through their website and there is NO mention of this policy. It was only 30 days past the year so I asked them to convert back and they said it's not possible.
