I reserved a car last night to rent today Wednesday Jan 3 through next Monday Jan 8 in fort myers and the process today was a nightmare. With my two young kids in tow, we waited for an hour in a long line to then be rushed by the agent at the desk into signing for an upgraded car that I didn’t want nor know I was getting until I looked at the total after signing. She said that the original booking was for a compact car and that all they had left were electric cars so she would put me in a mid or full size instead. The way she worded it made it sound like there was no fee for that so I said okay but after signing, realized that she charged me for an upgrade so my cost practically doubled. I was so ready to get out of there after waiting in line so long, as were my kids, plus the people behind us in line were breathing down our backs so I signed, and took what we got knowing I would be working to rectify the situation later. So here I am messaging. I want to be charged for the original amount of my reservation. if needed, i can take the car back thar we picked up this afternoon in exchange. When i booked the car, it was supposed to be $198.40 and instead my total today was $375.25. I tried calling customer service but could not get ahold of anyone would they would help me. I also messaged on Facebook as the website instructs but was told that nothing could be done until I return the car. I want to do what I can to ensure I am charged the original price of my reservation and need a response so that if I need to return the current car, I can. I booked my original reservation through Expedia and number was K7253105851. My current rental record # is [protected].
Desired outcome: To only be charged for the original cost of my reservation ($198.40) not the upgraded cost ($375.25).
