Car2Go car rental

Car2Go has a feature that will lock the engine so the car doesn't start in case you forget to lock the door. I had no idea they do this since the app says nothing about it. The only problem with that was I was in the middle of nowhere (Olympic National Park) with no cell service. After walking 3 miles on Hwy 101, 13 miles away from the nearest town I was forced to call 911 for help (thank god that worked) but unfortunately three squad cars passed us heading to another situation. Finally I found a spot of cell phone service and called customer service to find out what was going on and explained my situation. The guy on the phone unlocked the engine on the car and after a 4 mile and two hour ordeal walking with my legally blind girlfriend through a rain forest the damn car finally started. Upon returning to the city I called and asked them if they thought their car was more valuable than my life? All I got were sorry, not sorrys and we'll forward your concerns to the main office and they will contact you. Well they haven't contacyted me back and the best thing I can say about their service and policies is that they are awful and wreckless. I am by no means a drama queen but this situation was not good and quite frankly dangerous. I shudder to think what would happen if a less compitent individual was stuck in the same predicament and was hurt or killed because Car2Go cares more about their car than their customers.

Avoid at all costs

Car2Go customer care

Terrible customer service. Impolite and incompetent. It is hard to believe that they are the biggest car sharing company in the world. Maybe the lack of competitors made them this unprofessional. Their customer service representatives are not even capable of writing in English. And they don't "care" about the customers at all. I would strongly recommend everyone to stay away from them.

Car2Go customer service rude and unhelpful

I applied for car2go right as I got my license in the mail. I keep checking to see if I got approved and a week later it says my account is locked. I call customer service to find out why and this rude representative by the name of Chris tell me he doesn't know why just that its denied. Im like? ok so what can I do now? Is it maybe denied because my license is so new less than two weeks? hes like again I don't know why its just denied. Im like ok so what should I do? apply again? he said no once they deny you they dont ever approve anyone again. Im like but that makes no sense, I have no problems with my license considering I haven't driven since I got it. Hes like again that's all I can tell you. Im like ok then maybe I could speak to a manager and see if they can assist me a further? Hes like theres no manager here. Im like what do you mean theres no manager to speak to a customer to help them? hes like no that's why im here, im like but youre clearly not helping me. He said what am I not helping you with? so unbelievable!

I looked up reasons for being denied and those reasons dont apply to me. It does say to email car2go a a drivers abstract so they can manually review it. The customer service representative chris didn't even offer me that. Im not one to usually leave reviews but this was so unprofessional.

Is Car2Go Legit?

Car2Go earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

Our conclusion: After a detailed review, ComplaintsBoard finds Car2Go to be a trustworthy company. Although there's a 16% resolution rate for customer complaints, which deserves attention, Car2Go is known for their high standards and safety. If you're thinking about dealing with Car2Go, it's wise to check how they handle complaints.

We found clear and detailed contact information for Car2Go. The company provides a physical address, phone number, and 2 emails, as well as 5 social media accounts. This demonstrates a commitment to customer service and transparency, which is a positive sign for building trust with customers.

A long registered date for car2go.com can be seen as a positive aspect for Car2Go as it indicates a commitment to maintaining the website and its domain name for a long period of time. It also suggests that the company is organized and has taken steps to secure its online presence.

The age of Car2Go's domain suggests that they have had sufficient time to establish a reputation as a reliable source of information and services. This can provide reassurance to potential customers seeking quality products or services.

Car2go.com has a valid SSL certificate, which indicates that the website is secure and trustworthy. Look for the padlock icon in the browser and the "https" prefix in the URL to confirm that the website is using SSL.

We looked up Car2Go and found that the website is receiving a high amount of traffic. This could be a sign of a popular and trustworthy website, but it is still important to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of the site before sharing any personal or financial information

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

  • While Car2Go has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 16% of 6 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
  • Car2Go protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
  • We conducted a search on social media and found several negative reviews related to Car2Go. These reviews may indicate issues with the company's products, services, or customer support. It is important to thoroughly research the company and its offerings before making any purchases to avoid any potential risks.

If you go hourly and end up being an hour then they'll charge you the minute rate not the hour rate. No way of cancelling a car once reserved. Only able to reserve the same car once every 2 hours. I was in the home zone and the car said I wasn't in the home zone. Customer service guy told me it was because I wasn't in a correct parking spot... Even though the app said it was a home zone!?

have been attempting to get this resolved for almost a year now. The same member continues to block our fire lane and park in a disabled parking spot night after night around 1 am. I work with people who have disabilities who truly need these parking spaces. Over the past few months your member parks in this spot despite there being regular, legal parking...

Car2Go towing extortion

My first rental with car2go was a disaster. I found a car on their car finder near 290 and Ben White and went to pick up the car. When I reached the location, I found the car...behind a gated fence. I called customer service who told me the car was not supposed to be behind the fence. They directed me as best they could (the rep was in the Netherlands where it was 3am) to the next closest car. I found it and tried to pick that one up. My brand new card had no effect when I placed it next to the reader. Nada. Called customer service again. The CSR told me that my new card must not be working and I would have to go to the office to get it replaced. It is now after 9pm in east Austin and luckily, the friend who was dropping me off at the car had waited after my first trouble, or I would have been stranded there. I didn't believe the CSR that it was the fault of my card since there were no lights on the card reader lighting up...seemed like the card reader was broken to me. So my friend drove me to the next closest car...which was not exactly close...over 5 miles away...wouldn't have been a pleasant walk had I had to do so. So this one finally worked and I got a car for the time I needed it that night. So the next night, I decided to try again. Picked up a car in the parking lot of a CVS on South Congress and Oltorf. Drove downtown for the evening and at the end of the night, put the car back EXACTLY where I had found it several hours earlier in the same spot. A few days days later I get a call from car2go saying I had left the car in an unauthorized spot and to be sure to leave it in street parking only next time. I told them I had simply put it back where I found it but I would be more careful next time...they told me it would be a warning and there would be no charge. It is now over a week later and I received an e-mail this morning that they are charging me $440 for the car being towed from that lot. ? I put the car back where I found it...that was the lesson my momma taught me. After going through a lot of hassle with my credit card company which ultimately led me having to report my credit card as stolen and cancel it in order to avoid further charges, I have canceled my membership with car2go and will not be using them again. I think this whole concept is a great idea, but it seems that they are not really training people on their rules as they should be and then holding the member accountable for their lack of training/information. Obviously, I am not the only one having these issues as the cars I attempted to use and did use were also parked in locations where they were not allowed. If they can ever get it together this might be a great service, but being charged $440 for an hour and a half of using a car is beyond highway robbery. User BEWARE!

As you can see the car is parked too close to my car and as well as in a restricted parking space, not good at all.

The car is parked incorrectly. It is in between my neighbor's house and my house, but not spaced between the two mailboxes. Are you effing kidding me...? Now neither one of us can get our mail.

Please tell the driver of this car Colorado OSG-848 that their parking sucks. 20 inches from the curb and front end took over second parking space. The Mercedes is in front of the 80202 post office on Curtis Street.

Unwilling to move a car from a residential neighborhood, were parking is limited. Customer sevice initially agree to have it removed, then reneged saying they can park in any zone in the county.
