Good morning Sir/Madam,
Kindly advise me as to what is on my recourse on the following:
I bought a tyre at Tigerwheel Klerksdorp on the Saturday, 23rd December 2017 and got it installed and they then did a wheel alignment and wheel balancing, as I was planning to leave the following Monday morning to Eastern Cape to visit my family.
I then went into the town in the CBD to the mechanic to install my car hooter, and we subsequently found out that the new tyre that I had just bought and installed was flat to an extent that I couldn't drive to the nearer garage to have it re-aired/repumped, the guys assisted me in removing the tyre and putting on my spare wheel.
On inspecting the tyre we saw that there's a bubble on the side on the tyre, and because Tigerwheel had already closed for the day as it was the weekend and consequently Christmas holidays, I called them and the phone went answered.
I eventually cancelled my EC trip and got my friend in Pta to fetch me and kids and we visited her for Christmas. The following week on the 29th I called Tiger wheel and spoke to Alex and advised them that there was a problem with the tyre, what shall I do.
He said there's nothing they can do, it could be the tyre got a bubble for a pothole, I told him I drove straight to town and I would remember if I drive over a pothole. He was not helpful at all.
I feel it is unfair that I should suffer the loss for the tyre that can burst at anytime, because the business don't wanna take any responsibility. I am back in Klerksdorp.

Bad service on reclaiming a tyre taken for repairs
On 13 April I requested Tiger Wheels in Durban road Bellville to check one of the tyres which had a slow puncture, I was assisted by Mpumie who referred the case to Gerhard the manager who advised that the tyre is irrepairable, I accepted and paid for the new tyre. When I got home I called Mpumie to ask to keep the tyre since the car was new and the tyres were on warranty. Mpumie took my number and said nothing thereafter. On Tuesday after Easter Holiday, the first thing that I did is to call and request to fetch the tyre as I wanted to start with the process of claiming. The problem started here because I was told that the tyres had been taken by a truck on Thursday, the very same day I called.. I asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to Gerhard who told me the same story, and he promised to call the guys to bring the tyre back, I asked him where the guys were so that I could go personally and he said he does not know their address. I had to call all the time although he kept on promising that the tyre is going to be dropped. From Tuesday he kept on promising that the tyre is going to be dropped in the afternoon. I called daily and got the same response until I decided to go personally on Friday afternoon and I was given an old tyre which was not mine. I again asked for the address of the truck which fetched the tyres, this time he called the guy and gave me the address which he initially did not know. I finally went there but with no joy because they could not find the tyre. I am so disappointed with the service that Gerhard gave me, he promised to call me everytime I called and that the tyres will be dropped, I called daily with all the promises made until I went there on Friday and when I told him that I called and spoke to Mpumi the very same day to ask him to keep the tyre, and who even never told me on the day I called that the tyres had been fetched. His response was Mpumie is a trainee. Trainee or no trainee, he should have told me that the tyre was no longer there so that I could make a follow up immediately. It is so disgusting when you receive such service from a company that you have been supporting.
DQ Sytem Fitting

I am appalled with the service I received from Tiger Wheel & Tyre Westgate.
I went there to fit the DQ system on my car. When I walk in there I am told by the guys on floor at the workshop to go inside to ask for Sydwell as he’s the one that deal with those. I get inside, I am told to go look for him at the workshop after they hear I am there for the DQ system. The guys at the workshop send me back inside. By now I am furious. Then this guy says he is out he will be back in 10 minutes or so. I wait, 30 minutes go by no Sydwell. I ask, no answer. I wait some more. 1 hour, I see a black dude passing by with a phone and I ask him if Sydwell is not back? Guess what, he is Sydwell and he has been passing me on the waiting area for over 45 minutes. No one told him about me. Needless to say they guys I’ve been talking are white, I have been avoiding to get to that point but somehow it has to be mentioned. Sydwell was shocked someone has been waiting for him for an hour.
All I want to say about this matter is this:
Discovery is partnering with companies to, I assume, be better than Liberty and their failed loyalty program of which I was also a part of. If Discovery has more partners like these (TWT), three years is too long. The fate of Liberty will fall on Discovery. Those guys clearly care about the sales of their tyres and balancing vehicles. They should just remove that Discovery notice on their wall because clearly it means nothing to them. Two weeks ago I was hunting for a tyre because I had a tyre burst. I was doing my quotes and I saw on the Discovery App that TWT are partners, I thought I was in the luck. I went there, asked a dude (white of course) always running around with a notepad and a pen about my benefits as a member because I see you guys are partners with discovery. He said there is no benefits. And I asked if he is sure he said positive. Then I asked what’s the point of the partnership? He said the only they can do for me is to check my tyre pressure (Hello I can do that while I fill up at the petrol station) and maybe advise if I need to buy new tyres (Daahhhh). I thanked him and I left. With partners like that who needs Liberty? Everyone that was there for tyres I promise you had 2/3 guys around him. If I was a reporter, I would have written a nicely documented article.
What’s happening there should not be applauded. It took some doing for me to jump ship, and for me to jump to this is just no better. I had a 2-year-old with me that I just fetched from crèche because this was supposed to be a quick and painless exercise. Little did I know. I only wish she spilled more biscuits on their floor.
Dishonesty
On Saturday, January 15th 2012 I contacted TWT Centurion for a quote on tyres and rims for my wifes car. The sales rep that had assisted me on the telephone gave me a stunning deal for R2000 for all, which I at first thought was to good to be true and he again confirmed the price and the stock I would be receiving. I indicated that my wife would bring the car in to have fitment done, but due to unforseen circumstances she could not go and I therefore drove through to do the deal. Upon my arrival, the sales rep was extremely nervous and attempted to avoid me and my questions and denied ever talking to me, I realised something was wrong and insisted to see his small note book and was fairly surprised to see my name, surname, contact details and stock requested listed, with the value of R2000 clearly written. Underneath this was a additional amount in brackets, indicating (+ R1700). Upon confronting him about the matter, he was very evasive. It seems quite clear that the rep was under the impression that he could SKIM another R1700 of my wife as she is a so called "clueless woman". Their method of attempting to make money is dishonest and criminal.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
New Tyre thread claimed to be 8mm, test shows 6mm
I purchased a set of tyres and rims a long while back, they sold me insurance on the tyres too.
Unfortunately one tyre was damaged and not repairable, went back to claim for insurance. They replaced the tyre, but the problem was when they measured my damaged tyre, thread remaining was 5mm, but that was measured towards the flanks of the tyre, so I asked they measure the new tyre, they measured on the center, I then asked why not measure my tyre on the center too, consultant refused saying thats how they do things, I insisted and they measured it to be 8mm, so i said that therefore I do not have to pay anything since it is still 8mm as a new tyre, guy refused.
I then asked he measures the new tyre on the flank too same way he did with damaged tyre, he refused, as I was pressed with time i paid and left, went to another tyre fitment center, they tested the new tyre and it measured 6mm on the outer parts of the tyre.
I sent the proof to their insurance admin, they promised to sort this out, later they told me there is nothing they can do, called TWT head office, a guy by the name of Chris called saying he would call me back later, that was last year around June.
