What my husband and I thoght to be a great vacation option from travel advantage network (tan) has been nothing but a scam and rip off. For 1 year we have paid for this package never receiving the "so called" free cruise that was used to lure us to purchase their package. Now we are being told we owe them money for monthly service fees. No notifications have been sent and only a phone call with a rude agen informing us that we must pay. To top that we were never told that a loan was done for the package. To date no one has called to address our concerns... Do not do it you will regret it!

My husband and I received a call about tickets that we won for a cruise, we had to go to an office in new jersey for information about it, we went and what they mainly spoke was about a membership for travel packages, at the end we acquired a membership with few trips, that happened in 2013, the years passed and in 2017 they called us to make a review of our membership, of which we had never used because for the dates we were looking for there was no availability so the only way to use them was if we acquired the vip membership, with my husband we agreed to do so, guess what? until the date I am writing this review we have not been able to use this service and we has been paying month to month for it, today I called to cancel it and for my surprise I have a loan to pay for around $ 10, 000 dollars, the people who sold the membership didn't tell us about this loan under our names, the only thing that the said was about membership, now in order to cancel it we have to pay this loan they never told us about it. my advice to you, do not acquire anything from this company, because you will lose your money.

The FREE trip you supposedly win for buying or listening is NOT Free. We ended up spending over $1000 for this free trip. When I added up the cost, I realized we actually paid for the trip. It is a scam! DONT do it!

I have been a satisfied TAN member for many years - but I am sharing this to let others know. Recently I was contacted by TAN and asked to have an IN-PERSON meeting to "discuss my plan" Of course, I knew there had to be a sales pitch - but she assured me it was just to discuss changes to the plan - and said that there was a FREE 2 nite stay in Las Vegas or Orlando, including airfare! So - then I was POSITIVE there was a sales pitch involved - but figured why not right? Well - they came - they were very nice - the pitch was for the VIP plan - the first cost was $50k! They brought it down considerably before they left but I don't use the plan I have often enough and I didn't want to bite before actually SEEING some of what they called new and exclusive locations - AND they said that I had to make a decision right then - right now. Total turn off ! They guys were nice and polite - but yeah - talk about high pressure sales! Then when I received my FREE certificate - it was actually a $200 deposit required that is to cover the taxes - but they can't tell you how much that is? AND then when you go to book - you have to PAY first - and you have to put in 3 sets of dates - all more than 45 days apart - and you have to WAIT to see if it is approved. Overall - very unhappy - and I am thinking this is part of the new management - I will be using my last few weeks and be done - my trust is broken. I am doubting that I will ever get the FREE $200 package anyway - I will add to this review when I know.

Totally agree! I advise anyone interested in timeshares or vacationing to STAY AWAY from TAN! You over pay, then they never have rentals open where I want to travel. Then they scammed me into VIP, what a complete waste!

I have been a TAN member since 1998. We joined while walking along the beach in Kauai, HI. We used our first ten weeks over the years through our trips and gave them as gifts. In 2017 we purchased an additional 10 weeks, and now have a total of 12. We have never had a totally bad experience but have watched the prices, locations and available properties change over the years. When we first joined it cost $89.00 to book a week, regardless of the number of BRs required. I remember getting a two-story, 4 BR 3BA, house in Florida near the amusement parks for $149 for the entire week. The management change put the business face to what was once a travel-oriented, somewhat caring, company. They are now coming after us with the one-on-one company update, no way, back off, we paid the cost to be the boss, use our weeks, being less than ideal, yet, in most cases, they are still competitive, and in many situations, still a great deal.

We have had TAN for several years and we really don't use it they talked about how wonderful this is and that's not a timeshare. So we are trying to cancel this TAN and we can't! We have a contract supposedly are unable to cancel! You have contracts for many different things, but you can cancel them!

This is such a bad company that binds you to something that you are trapped into paying!

Don't fall for it!

I have owned with Travel Advantage Network since 2008 but worked so did not use most of the vacation sites. I am now retired and the ones that I kept a list of traveling to now is considered VIP exclusive only. For example Westin Cape Coral at Marina Village was not VIP nor was Purple Parrot @ Perdido Key, FL and Myrtle Beach Resort or Greenlinks Resort in Naples, FL and now these units are VIP. VIP means you pay more to get these nice resorts that were once not even called VIP. I can also say I have requested a copy of my contract twice and still have not received it and it is noted that I have requested it. At this point it is a scam.
