The day after Christmas. on the 26 I filed a roof claim because water was coming inside the master bedroom closet, chimney and the kitchen window.
The adjuster for the area came, he was nice, but he did not come with a roofer. After an hour or so the adjuster told me that Travelers could only pay for half of the roof because he could not see hail and wind damage in the front, just wear and tear but said that I could get my own roofer and send the estimate. Two companies came and have proof of hail and wind in the front too, not just the back, both companies sent the estimate, but the adjuster insist on paying half roof only. I sent an email to the adjuster supervisor, and he said that the adjuster is qualified to assess damages too. so, he sided with the adjuster. My husband went up to the attic and put buckets to catch the water. Today is Friday January 5 and I just received a check for $925.60 as initial payment for half roof. I will send that check back because the abuse is unacceptable. This is the first claim ever after more than 5 years paying the home insurance to Travelers.
Desired outcome: I need the whole roof done.
